Am I Okay?

Deku was suddenly aware of his conscience. I'm not dead. Why am I not dead? Where am I? He opened his eyes to see white everywhere. I'm in a hospital. Heaven? No. I can still feel my blankets. He lifted his right arm and saw an IV attached to his arm and a length of tube winding downwards and up again to a bag of fluid hanging on a tall white rack.

"Deku."

Izuku whipped his head around to see Kacchan's stern face glaring at him. Bakugo Katsuki wore a black suit and white undershirt. His tie matched his bright red bloodshot eyes, but made his puffy blond hair stand out. He looked like he'd slept at the hospital. Bakugo stood casually with one hand in his dress pants pocket, but the other hand clutched an arrangement of roses and tulips like his life depended on it.

"Kacchan!" Deku tried to sound excited, but in the end he was too weak and coughed up more blood.

The temperamental blond kept his eyes and expression level as if he didn't notice the green haired boy's hacking fit. "I don't have much time."

Deku frowned and scanned Bakugo. Something was terribly wrong. "What?"
"You heard me. Listen, you need to go back." Bakugo urged, clutching the flowers tighter until his knuckles turned ghostly white.

"What?" Deku repeated, growing more and more confused as the seconds ticked by. An impending feeling of doom weighed down his chest.

Bakugo threw down the flowers and got right up in Deku's face, spittle spraying from his mouth. "You need to go RIGHT NOW. They need you out there!"

"Who's they?" Deku asked, his eyes widening in alarm at Kacchan's outburst. The sound of wails and explosions filled the room ever so slightly as if they were happening a million miles away. He felt a sharp pain in his chest and looked down. Deku almost screamed. A four inch thick knife was sticking out of his stomach, blood staining the sheets. "THE HELL?!?"
Bakugo shook his head and furrowed his brows. "FUCK IT DEKU YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! They need you out there. They're dying, DEKU. They're DYING!"

"I-I don't understand. Who needs me? Who's dying?" Deku questioned timidly, his voice cracking. Tears brimmed in his green eyes that made his vision blurry. He hated the prospect of people being injured, but the fact that he couldn't do anything about it made it even worse.

Kacchan softened his glare and did something quite unexpected. He smiled. Bakugo Katsuki smiled. And, even though it was small, it was the most beautiful thing Deku had ever seen. Bakugo lifted Deku's chin with one hand and wiped away his tears with the other. "Don't cry, Izuku. I'm sorry, but you need to go back."

Izuku stopped crying. Bakugo never called him by his first name. Deku was about to ask him again what "go back" meant, but he was plunged back into darkness.
