I was lying when I said he was perfect for me because he would keep me close to Tanirika. That was not a total lie though, the reason was a false I think. I was not sure if we were better with each other but I knew one think and that was I have started to crave for him. Maybe I liked him. Or maybe not but I was comfortable with him.

I think I was starting to like him. And I was being selfish when I said that I would marry him as I would be his because I wanted him to be mine.

And it was better if I married him instead someone who would be a total stranger to me. Not that I knew him that well but I knew that he was a nice man and I could forever stay with Tanirika. And for all his good deeds towards him i would repay him by taking care of him and giving him whatever he wanted.

It was a good decision and I was proud of myself. Atleast he was not that scary compared to other men who were patriarchal Master Meglos was no doubt a little scary when he started his all cute talks with me. One where he called me weird names like little mouse, or how he would make me forget God.

That was funny because I would never forget God. Majority of times I think he just acts tough or it could be also because he was possessed.

The reason I think he is possessed because he does not believe in god and I have never seen him pray anytime. That is the reason I am today visiting the Royal priest to get his atheist personality some light of the god.

"Here, Lady lekha this will help your friend to get rid of any evilness lurking on him, "
The priest said handing me a cloth filled with some black powder. I stared back with a confused expression giving him a hint that how should I use them.

"How should I use it?" I asked him tying the cloth in a knot. 

" Create a paste of this powder and apply this on his back, forehead and arms. And tie this thread on his left arm. " He handed me a red thread. I stared at the powder for few seconds taking the thread from him.

"Why should he apply this on his body? " I asked dreading over the thoughts arising in my brain. He will never apply this. For one second I can tie this on his arm but applying paste is very far.

 
"You said he behaves weird, jumps from place to place, is obsessed with some woman and does not beileve in god. Right? And he also makes weird sounds? " He asked me wrapping his saffron rectangle cloth around his wrist.

"Yes, he makes very weird sounds like hes in pain. And whenever he speaks I feel very scared and I also get goosebumps" I said nodding my head in a fierce motion. He shook his head tapping his forehead twice and muttering Maa Amba's name thrice.

"This means the Spirit sits on his back and controls him. So you have to apply this on his back and arms the most to get rid of any essence of that evil spirit. And on forehead too because we need to cleanse his brain. Create a paste of this powder by mixing the water of holy ganga only Ok. And after that make him bath with water laced with few droplets of holy ganga water and then  tie this on his arm. And Beware no one should know about this. You have to keep this ritual hidden from him orelse the spirit will try to overpower and we can loose him for eternity. " He narrowed his eyes making me jump back in fear.

I would not let anything happen to him. He said the previous night that I was the one possessing him but does that even make sense? How can I possess someone ? No man has ever looked at me since I was a kid. Why would a man like him look at me.

He was clearly being controlled by someone.  And I would save him. Just how knights save princesses  from evil people. I would be his knight. 

But one of the hardest tasks was applying this on his back. How was I going to do it? Tanirika wasn't even here anymore she was away with his majesty at the old palace. They were on a little vacation away from all the chaos. When she left in the morning I was busy in taking care of the eastern wing due to some problems between few women. While I solved the problem Tanirika was already out towards her journey. I met her in the morning only for few minutes. We couldn't even talk to each other properly. But I was grateful that I saw her before she left.

She glowed in the morning when I met her, she always glowed after spending some time with his majesty, king Zravsaya. Maybe he had some potion to make her glow. Rakasa always said it was that unholy naked behavior married couple did which brought glow on a woman's face but I didn't agree on that. Was that even possible??  

Was that? Maybe I should ask Tanirika! When she comes back i will ask but everytime I ask her anything intimate I get embarrassed maybe once I get married I could talk about it freely. For that I should first get married and Before getting married I should apply this paste on Master meglos's Back.  

I was walking towards Aausbaug when my eyes fell on Rakasa. She was walking towards opposite direction whispering some thing under her lips. I ran towards my friend who gasped turning around in fright. I giggled jumping back when her accusing glare hit my face. She always got scared easily.

"Lekha" she bashed pushing me back playfully. I giggled again making her glare turn into a smile.

"I need your help, Rakasa" I said making her frown in return. She ushered me to continue while I hooked my arm with hers pulling her towards my destination.

"I want you to help me to gain someone's attention. " I whispered red hues covering my cheeks.  She stopped suddenly turning towards me I giggled in embarrassment looking everywhere but at her. Which made her smile mockingly at me.

"And who's that?" She teased tapping my bangles softly, my bangles tingled due to her act ringing softly in the wavy atmosphere. 

"Someone" I whispered moving away from her. She laughed hooking my arm with hers again bumping her forehead with mine. I felt her pulling me towards another direction making me frown in return.

"Master Meglos is with Commander loki in the western garden. " She smiled teasingly at me. I pushed her away in embarrassment making her chuckle in return.

After few minutes we reached the western gardens, my eyes fell on the two men seated in the middle of the garden indulged in one of the heated conversations. The expressions resting on both the men's faces clearly depicted the problem. Something was wrong. Rakasa noticed it too. We both shared a glance standing behind a bush staring at the two men.

"Is something wrong?" I asked Rakasa who shrugged in return. Master loki threw a cushion in anger as he got up from his seat. He walked furiously to and fro parallely to where Master meglos sat. The creases on Master meglos's face was enough to say that something terrible had occurred.

" I could have said that it would be something small but the anger on Meglos's face proves that something big has occurred. Why don't you ask him?" Rakasa suggested making me look at her in horror. Off course not!!!

I would never ask him anything that too infront  Commander loki.

"Lekha, don't be scared. He would never hurt you!" She pushed me to walk towards him. I gasped turning my back to the men glaring at My friend who smiled forcefully trying to ease my anger.

"Go lekha" She pushed again while I shook my head in denial. I peeked behind slowly turning my neck to look at the men they were still busy in talking or I could say arguing.

"Can't you see they are in a heated conversation what if they kill me. OK not Master meglos, but Commander loki scares me. I have only seen him talking nicely to Tani and Mother Palasha. He would kill me "  I whispered clasping her hands with mine. She shook her head slapping my forehead in annoyance.

"He won't. Master Meglos will save you. " She said rolling her eyes. I pouted looking back at the men. I was not going to interfere.  No I would never.

I untangled my hands with her moving away from the place. I would talk to him at night.  I know it very well that he would come running to me at his usual time.

"Let's go Rakasa " I called out to her moving out of the garden when I felt her  not coming with me. Turning around i looked at her who smiled sadly pointing towards the sitting area. I shook my head telling her for the nth time that I wasn't going there.

"Uh lekha-" I cut her in between walking towards her and pulling her towards the exit when she stopped me.

"Lekha" a voice called making me stop dead in my tracks. I knew it very well who called me. And that made me wish for the ground to swallow me.

I turned around timidly tucking my loose strand of hair behind my ear I looked at Commander loki who stood at a 20 feet distance away from me. I looked at Rakasa raising my brows at her in return she shrugged in return. I sighed at my fate walking towards the men.

Master Meglos had his back turned to me but as  I walked towards them he turned around flashing a soft smile at me. It felt like he felt my presence.

His eyes lingered on my ankles making me realize it was because of Anklets. I bowed at both of them in respect hiding the red cloth in my left end of veil.

"I need to ask you some questions and I beileve that you would be truthful. " Commander loki fired at me making me frown at his monologue but  I nodded nevertheless.

"She knows nothing I bet she doesn't even know what went down. " Master Meglos stated standing up from the chair. My frowned deepened as I stared at him.

"Apologies for interrupting your majesty but I do not know anything you both are implying on" I said making master Meglos nod at Commander loki who rolled his eyes.

"I am not accusing her of anything dearest Meglos, Before being your woman she is Closest to Tani, but she is the first lady she would know something. Now, Lekha what do you know about the dinner which was prepared for the feast the previous night?" 

It took me minutes to process his sentence. He knew about me and Master meglos. Everyone knew I think did Tani knew too? But if she did she would ask me! But there was nothing between us whatever went down happened the previous night.

But a regret flashed through my heart I should tell my sister everything. I shouldn't hide anything from her. I will talk to her as soon as possible. Though I won't lie that my heart didn't flutter when I was called as his woman.  Then my mind went to the question asked by him.

"It was gigantic and marvelous in honor of the king of Persia" I said nervously playing with my veil.

A loud sigh escaped loki's lips as he sat on a chair motioning Master meglos with his eyes.

"So damn innocent. " Master meglos muttered walking close to me. My eyes blinked feeling him walk closer and I immediately stepped back from him.

"What are you doing?" I asked scared of him doing something inappropriate which I didn't want anyone to witness. Somethings were better behind closed doors.

Isssshhh!!!!! Lekha what are you talking about. I cursed myself narrowing my eyes at Master Meglos. He narrowed his eyes back making me glare at him.

"Meglos! Concentrate. " Commander loki glared at both of us. Master meglos being his usual self smirked pinching my cheek making me jump back in fright.

Shameless man!!

"Meglos if I found you touching her again and making her uncomfortable infront of us, you will meet the worst version of me. Do what is necessary now !" He ordered making me look at my feet in nervousness. While I was scared Master meglos looked unfazed as if this was daily occurrence for him.

"He's just jealous that I got you while his wife stays at Jagnya, you know " He whispered winking at me. I pouted slamming my feet on his right feet making him groan in pain. I breathed deeply walking two steps back being proud of myself.

Commander loki chuckled brushing his hair back as Master Meglos sulked at me.

"Meglos" He warned again to the man who was now on the ground rubbing his foot in pain.

"Yes! Desperate his royal highness Loki, I am asking," he said rubbing his feet with one hand as he stood from the ground.

"My dearest loveliest lekha if you agree please answer some of questions ok" He asked me making me nod at him.

If he was going to be civil I will be civil if he won't be civil I would blow this powder on his face. Then the spirit would run away leaving him automatically.

"The previous night who was in charge of preparing meals for the feast " He asked looking at me and Rakasa.

"The head Maid kasturi Tai, " I replied looking at Rakasa who nodded back.

"You take care for it always right Lekha, then why was she incharge the previous night. " Commander loki said rubbing his eyebrow. He had a frown resting on his forehead and I won't lie he was utterly handsome in every sense his red hair made him look attractive and different from others. But his dark aura scared me.

I liked someone more like Master Meg-

"Yes! But Tanirika wanted me to help her the previous night to get ready for the feast and I was helping Princess Divya to take care of Divith, he was sick" I said thinking about the conversation between me and Tanirika the previous night. I peeked at Master Meglos and then shook my head this was not the right  time .

"I told you she knows nothing. Kasturi Tai always takes care of everything related to  the royal kitchen besides anyone can spike any dish we don't know anything. Killers are always smart" Master Meglos stated sitting on one of the chairs, he looked keen on his statement.

"Killer? Spiked the dish? What is going on?" I asked the men making them share a look before Commander loki stood up rubbing his face and moving out of the area. Taking a hint Rakasa too moved out leaving me and Master meglos alone.

"Your majesty?" I whispered moving towards Master meglos and facing him. He smiled sadly standing up and caressing my face.

"Before you start to worry Tanirika is fine and healthy. And for the context someone poisoned Tani's kheer at the feast. But she did not eat it, Zravasaya saved her ok" my eyes widened in fear the moment he said Tanirika was poisoned.

Maa Amba! Have mercy on us what was going on.

"Is she fine? No one told me. I met her in the morning but she was all fine and happy. Your majesty, I am so worried for her. " I ranted as tears brimmed in my eyes. I loved Tanirika more than my own life and when flashes of her getting hurt flashed in my head I felt someone sucking my life out of my body.
