"Wake up, Abbie!" His voice, so gentle.

"Abbie wake up!" Abbie was a deep sleeper.

"Abbie!" the voice lost its gentleness and patience. Her eyes flew open. She saw deep green eyes staring at her with hidden amusement. Anyone else would not have found it but she knew him for a long time. They shared a history.

Disturbing one's sleep is a sin. She was a firm believer in that.

Her mind wasn't clear, it was like it was covered in fog. But it soon faded and her brain once again became active when she saw the mansion before her. It was simply beautiful -- her home that was. She missed the mansion, she missed the garden, she missed her best creation. Her irritation turned into excitement and happiness.

Kevin got off the car, took out the luggage from the trunk of the car and handed it to her servant.

"You sure you don't want to come in?"

"No, he wouldn't like it."

She knew he was referring to Danny. She watched as Kevin got in his corolla and disappeared from her sight

She got inside the house, slouched on the couch. She squared her shoulders as a big yawn escaped her mouth. She was relieved. She no longer had to keep up appearances. She was tired. Too tired to keep her eyes open but Danny would arrive anytime now.

For Danny, Abbie keep eyes open.

She stood up from the couch, her eyes burning with passion. She glanced at the wall clock. It was 8 already why hadn't he reached yet? This bothered her.

He should take care of his health.

Ah, he never was good at taking care of himself.

She found that side of him cute. He was clumsy and unreliable but she was good at taking care of others.

Should I call him?

She wanted to see him. Her eyes lit up as if she thought of something.

Why don't I go to his office?

Imagining his surprised face, she made her resolve. Her jet lag didn't bother her anymore. It was like her exhaustion disappeared into thin air. She crept out of the house without getting noticed by any of her servants. They won't allow her to go outside. They will insist her to rest but how can she rest when her dear was working so hard.

She got into her grey Lexus. Abbie's mind was occupied with thoughts of Danny. She wanted to rush towards him and enjoy his warmth. She didn't say anything about her return to Danny. She knew he would sulk but she found his sulking face to be cute. A sweet smile formed on her face when she imagined him getting all sulky.

She couldn't contain her excitement anymore when she saw his office. She parked the car in a hurry and rushed to the lobby. The employees who saw her greeted her. They knew very well she was their boss's girlfriend and a probable future boss. She headed to the reception.

"Is Danny still here?"

"Yes, ma'am, should I inform him about your arrival?"

"Shush!" She pressed a finger to her lips and leaned towards her, a playful grin dancing on her lips.

She rushed through the hallway and towards his office. The door was shut. She silently turned the knob and peeked inside. She could see his back. An evil grin appeared on her face.

I will cover his eyes from behind and scare him.

She slightly pushed the door open and crept inside. But what she saw inside horrified her. She lost her composure. A gasp escaped her lips. She covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes widened, tears threatened to overflow. She ran out of the room. She didn't want to see anyone let alone Danny anymore. The employers stared at her. She felt numb, unable to process what was going on as she exited the office.
