Part 6
Himchan POV
“He can't be serious. Yongguk would never abandon us, right?” I nervously asked.
“I wouldn't be so sure of that, Hyung” Youngjae spoke up. “You're the one that's been causing most of the problems.” Then he stood up and left as well. One by one all the other members silently got up and left as well.
Frustrated by what he had said, I sought out Yongguk. “Hyung, you wouldn't really kick me out of the gang, would you?”
“Have a seat” he said as he took a seat on his bed. I sat next to him and then he said “I know you better than anyone Himchan. And I know you don't pick fights for no reason. But it has been getting out of hand. You need to chill. The TS family is willing to accept us despite our reputation right now and I think we should be grateful. I don't want to ruin this opportunity.”
“But Hyung!”
“You aren't the only member of the gang, Himchan. I've got to think about the other guys as well.” He placed a hand on my shoulder. “Zelo is still very young. I don't want him to be in danger all the time. With the TS family he would be safe. We all would be safe.”
“I understand where you're coming from. Honestly, I always wondered why you took him in.” I sighed as I collapsed on his bed. “Do I really have to pretend to be her fiancé?”
“For the time being, yes you have to.” He placed a hand on my shoulder and said “I know you don't like it, but just put up with it for now.”
“Fine” I huffed as I got off the bed.
“And Himchan”
“Yes, Hyung?”
“I think you should take this opportunity to reflect on your actions. Maybe even learn to control your emotions. That way we won't have to keep running away.”
“I'll think about it” I sighed as I left his room. I knew he was right. They all were. I was the one who always got into fights. Maybe I should just avoid everyone for a while.
Miyoung POV
As I turned to leave the dining room, I could feel a tear escape. Thankfully my back was already turned so they couldn't see. I ran to my room and broke down. A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes and steadied my voice before answering. “Who is it?”
“It's me, let me in” Sunhwa said.
“I'm lying down right now. I've still got a bit of a headache.”
“Open the door, Agassi. I know you are crying.”
How did she know? I nervously walked over to the door and unlocked it. Sunhwa immediately came in and locked the door before pulling me into a hug.
“Unnie... too... tight...can't... breathe.”
“Sorry” she said as she let me go. “How are you feeling?”
I walked over to my bed and lay down. “Tired” I replied.
She walked over and took a seat on the edge of my bed. “That Himchan is an idiot! Doesn't he even realize how much you risked to save the both of them? Even I was shocked! What were you thinking?”
I rolled away from her and said “Unnie, I'd rather not talk about this.”
“Ho... ly... Shit! You can't be serious? How on earth could you possibly like a guy like that?”
“Unnie please” I moaned.
“Not until you answer me. How can you like him after all he has said to you?”
“I never said I liked him” I lied.
“I know you better than that and your actions say otherwise.”
“Unnie...”
“Why did it have to be a guy like him?”
“I don't know” I sighed.
“What are you going to do?”
“What can I do? He obviously doesn't want to have anything to do with me.” I closed my eyes and tears began to fall once again. “I'll make a formal announcement at the Annual Ball stating that he and I have decided to call off the engagement for personal reasons. That should satisfy the other families.”
“And what about you?”
“What about me?”
“Are you really going to be okay with that? He's going to be a part of our family. You're going to have to see him every day. Do you think you can handle that?”
“What choice do I have? It's not like I can change his mind.” More tears fell from my eyes. “I'll just have to be happy knowing he is safe.”
A few days later, I woke up and got ready to go for my morning jog. As I exited the house I ran into Jongup. “What are you doing up so early?”
“Just exercising” he replied. “Why are you?”
I smiled back at him “I exercise every morning too.”
“Mind if I join you?”
“Sure, but you better keep up or I'm going to leave you behind” I giggled.
“You're on!”
Jongup POV
I'm glad she decided to let me join her. I'm still not familiar with this neighborhood. We started out and I expected her to give up jogging after fifteen minutes, but she just kept on going. She really seems relaxed. I don't know how long we had been jogging, but I noticed that we were now climbing a hill. Where is she taking me? Does she even know the way back? Because I'm definitely lost and I'm ready to collapse. I start to slow down and she turned to face me.
“Come on! It's only a little way more to the top.” She came over to me and pulled me up. “We are almost there and then you can rest.”
I sighed as I let her push me along. I hope we get there soon or she is going to have to carry me. We reached the top of the hill and I collapsed next to a tree. “YOU DO THIS EVERY MORNING?!” I tried to catch my breath.
She giggled “No, normally I take the longer route, but I woke up a little late today and you were with me.”
“YOU MEAN THERE IS A LONGER ROUTE?!”
“Yeah” she smiled.
“AND YOU DO THIS EVERY DAY?!”
“Yes” she smiled some more.
“WHY?”
“Have a look for yourself” she pointed out over the cliffside and I saw the sun starting to rise above the horizon.
I got up and walked over to the railing that she had already begun to lean against. “Wow! I never knew that there was a place like this in the city.”
“Yeah, well not many people come up here.”
Miyoung POV
He really is funny. When he said he wanted to jog, I figured he would be able to handle it considering his physique. Guess I was wrong. I reached into my backpack and pulled out a couple bottles of water. “Hey!” I called out to him. He turned to look at me. “Here, catch!” I said as I tossed him one of the bottles.
“Thanks!” he said as he quickly opened the bottle and downed half of it.
“You're a little out of shape” I giggled.
“NO I'M NOT! You just exercise TOO much” he retorted and we both started laughing.
“I guess we should head back now” I said as I stretched my arms over my head.
Jongup sighed “You've got to be kidding me! We just got here and now we have to go all the way back? Just call an ambulance now to come and pick me up.”
“Don't worry; we can take the short route back.”
“Didn't we take the short route here?”
“No” I shook my head. “That was one of my extended routes.”
“You've really got to be kidding me!”
Jongup POV
She laughed as she grabbed me by my arm. “Come on! You'll be fine.”
She dragged me all the way back to the house. I thought I was really going to die, I was so exhausted. I collapsed on the stairs and said “Remind me to never go jogging with you again.”
She started laughing “Oh come on! It wasn't that bad!” I couldn't help but laugh as well. She walked over to me and patted me on the back. “Next time I'll take a shorter route, Okay?”
“Okay!” I sighed as I leaned against the cold stairs.
“You can rest here, I’m going to go and work on my martial arts a little before breakfast.”
“You've got to be kidding me! How can you still have energy left after that?”
“I told you, I do this every day. You are just out of shape” she giggled some more. She really is pretty. I can't believe that Himchan is acting like an ass. If it was me, I'd be happy to act as her fiancé. “Here take this” she said as she handed me another bottle of water.
“Thanks!” I smiled as I chugged the water. Then she walked off towards the training grounds.
