01. synopsis !

━━━━━━ IN THE CHAOTIC WORLD OF THE UNDEAD, Josephine 'Jo' Kaplan has found solace in the one constant in her life: her younger brother, Levi. At 24, Jo is fiercely protective of 14-year-old Levi, who has grown up far too quickly in the wake of the apocalypse. They share a bond that has kept them both grounded—through the grief, the terror, and the endless struggle to survive. But their family is far from perfect.

Jo's relationship with her father, Samuel, is fractured beyond repair. Before the outbreak, they were already distant, but in this new world, their differences are painfully amplified. Samuel's overprotectiveness and his failure to understand Jo's need to take control of her own life have pushed them further apart. The rift between them has only deepened as they both struggle to reconcile their roles in a world where the old rules no longer apply.

But Jo's struggles aren't limited to her strained relationship with her father. The constant loss and trauma of the world around her have made it difficult for Jo to let anyone in. She pushes people away, afraid that caring too much might cost her yet another piece of herself. Even when the potential for love presents itself, she's unsure how to respond—whether she's capable of feeling anything more than fear and anger in a world that demands nothing less than total survival.

As the group faces new threats—both human and walker—Jo must navigate the complexity of her relationships, balancing the role of protector to Levi with the burden of emotional isolation. In a moment of vulnerability, Jo must confront the real reason she has closed herself off: the fear that loving others might mean losing them.

— I've had this story in my works since 2017 and haven't really thought about until I started rewatching it with my mom. TWD is such a great series so I couldn't help myself.
