Shabhana's POV

_Flashback_

Standing there confused as hell in front of Ishaan and Nazneen's house wondering what the fuck had happened I realized that I wasn't the over-smart detective that I thought I was, I was a regular police officer who got scammed and not only just scammed but scammed so hard by a bunch of nobodys that it is insulting. They were living with us for crying out loud, and instead of wondering whether the stuff they were telling us is true or not I was feeling bad for them and hoping their love story wouldn't have a tragic ending, I was risking my life to protect them like an idiot. Standing there I just felt betrayed. The only person there who might be feeling worse than I did was that innocent girl we were going to take into custody, who came here to surprise her fiancé only to realize he was busy cheating on her all this while.

"Humeh usse custody main lena hi padega abhi ke liye yeh ladki hamari iklauthi lead hai. Lekin usko dekhke hi ithna bura lag raha hai mujeh, main nehi baat kar sakthi usse tum hi kar lo (We have to take her into custody, for now she is our only lead. But I am feeling so bad seeing her like this, I can't talk to her you have to do it)" I said after I pulled Sahil aside.

"Yaar kuch waqt pehele hi iski behan mari hai, usko abhi abhi patha chala hai ki uski mangethar usse doka de raha tha abb usko main yeh kaise bathaoo ki usko police station chalna padega? (Just sometime back her sister died she just found out that her fiancé was cheating on her now how can I tell her that she has to come to the police station with us?)" Sahil asked confused.

We both looked at each other confused.

"Toh aap Nazneen ki badi behan hai? (So you are Nazneen's elder sister?)" I asked her sister who we had brought in for questioning.

"Ji (yes)"

"Hume aapke parent's se baat kiya hai unke hisab se Nazneen ke paas humse jhoot bolne ke liye koi reason  hi nehi tha, aapko kya lagtha hai woh humse aise jhoot kyu bolengi? (We talked to your parents, according to them Nazneen had no reason to lie to us, why do you think she would have lied to us?)"

"Ji woh toh patha nehi par ek cheez sach kaha tha usne, ki uski behan ka rape hua tha (I don't know about that but she didn't lie about one thing that her sister was raped)"

"Aapne complaint file nehi kiya? (You didn't file a complaint?)" I asked shocked.

"Karthi agar aap log marital rape ko rape maanthe tho (I would have if you all would have considered marital rape as actual rape)"

"I am so sorry to hear that, par aapke paas aise koi bhi information hai jo humeh help kar sakthe hai? (I am so sorry to hear that, but do you have any information that could help us?)"

"I am sorry I don't"

"Aap jaa sakthi hai (You can go)"

I said and she just stood up and left.

"Toh aapka naam Zaira hai, aap Zoya ka judwa behan hai aur Ishaan ki mangether hai correct? (So your name is Zaira you are Zoya's twin sister and you are Ishaan's fiancé correct?)" Sahil asked to confirm.

She just nodded wiping her tears.

"Aap inko janthi hai? (Do you know her?)" I asked Zaira showing her a picture of Nazneen.

"Ji ye Naaz hai mere saat Mumbai main rehthi thi hostel main hum dono dost the lekin jab se woh Mumbai chod kar gayi hai tabse koi contact nehi hua mera uske saat (Yes she is Naaz she used to live with me in a hostel in Mumbai, we were friends, but since she left Mumbai we haven't been in touch)"

"Baat na karne ki kuch kaas vajah? (Any particular reason for not talking?)" Sahil asked.

"Nehi (No) we just drifted apart"

"Aap Ishaan se kahan pe mile the? (Where did you meet Ishaan?)"

"Ek beauty pageant tha, maine competition main hissa liya tha aur Ishaan kissi se milne aaya tha wahan pe, aur Naaz ne hi usse pehele baat kiya tha hum donon ki baat nehi hua tha (At a beauty pageant I was a contestant as Ishaan had come to meet someone and Naaz was the first one to talk to him I didn't talk to him then)"

"Uski aur Naaz ka rista kaisa tha? (How was his relationship with Naaz?)"

"Mamuli si dosti thi Naaz ko Ishaan pehele bilkul accha nehi lagta tha fir mere wajah se adjust karne lage at least tab mujeh aise laga tha abb kuch samaj main nehi aa raha hai (It was a normal friendship Naaz didn't used to like Ishaan at first and later she adjusted for me at least that's what I thought then now I don't know anything)"

"Aapki aur Ishaan ki rista kaisa tha? (How was your relationship with Ishaan?) Sahil asked.

"He was the perfect boyfriend, zyaada ladayi nehi kartha tha, bohot pyaar se baat kartha tha, genuinely bohot khyaal raktha tha mera aur jab usne shaadi ke liye poocha toh it was like a dream come true hum bohot pyaar karthe the ek doosre se fir patha nehi kya hogaya (He was the perfect boyfriend he didn't used to fight a lot, he spoke with lot of love, and genuinely was very caring towards me and when he asked me to marry him it was like a dream come true we used to love each other a lot I don't know what went wrong after that)"

She said and started crying again.

"Yeh Julie ka file mil gaya, surprisingly woh zyaada jhoot nehi bhol rahi thi uski sachme rape hua tha case bhi chala tha par woh Naveen ki girlfriend nehi thi (I found Julie's file, surprisingly she wasn't lying a lot, she was actually raped there was also a case but she wasn't Naveen's girlfriend)" Sahil said.

"Yeh Nazneen bohot shatir hai usne humse seede jhoot hi nehi bola, sach hi toh kaha usne uski behan ki rape hua tha aur Naveen ne Julie ka rape kiya tha bas sach ko manipulate karke bola usne (This Naazneen is very smart she didn't lie to us directly, her sister was raped and Naveen raped Julie she just manipulated the truth)" I said and held my head.

"Shabhana......." I heard the voice I hated the most call out.

"Hi Ayan, Kya caahiye tujeh? (Hi Ayan, what do you want?)" I asked.

"Ananya missing hai, uski parent's ki hisab se woh ghar chod ke baagh gayi hai aur meri fhatti padi hai last time jab woh baagh gayi thi toh yaad hai na kya hua tha? (Ananya is missing according to her parent's she left home and I am losing my shit, you remember what happened when she ran away last time right?)" Ayan said.

"Oh god, Ayan you wait here" I said as I pulled Sahil to the side.

"Sara ka sara force ko issme lagana padega jald se jald Ananya ko doondna padega varna bohot bada panga ho jaayega (we have put all our force on this we have to find Ananya as soon as possible or else we will be in great problem)" I said.

"Shabhana sara force? Yahan pe itna bada case chal raha hai uske beech main kaise? (Shabhana, the whole force? We have such a big case going on here how can we do this in between that?)"

"Ye sab mujeh nehi patha Sahil usko doondna hi padega (I don't know all that Sahil but we have to find her)"

"Kyu? (Why?)"

"BECAUSE SHE IS A GOVERNMENT AUTHORIZED KILLING MACHINE"
