01. hallway crush
Serenity's black skirt lifted and fell against her thigh. Her fingers picking off the maroon colored polish on her fingernails, her cheeks puffing and deflating every so often as she checks various classrooms to look for her friend. She smiles at her peers as she's walking and gives neutral expressions to everyone else, including the blonde boy from yesterday.
Astumu Miya stood by his locker with his twin brother as he watched her walk by. A pout played on his lips as he turned his head, "can you dye your hair blonde to help 'er like me?"
His twin brother scoffed at the idea, "first of all, we're identical twins. Second of all, no, you need to get over it. Basically every girl at this school likes you, what's so special about that girl?"
"You should've seen the way she looked at me," Astumu's hands clasped together (and Osamu could've sworn that his pupils shifted into hearts) , "she pretended like she wasn't into me, but she obviously is, I'm in love, I think."
Osamu's response was to hit his twin in the head, "now 'yer talking crazy, do you need a doctor?" The gray haired boy shut his locker and placed his hands on his brothers shoulders, "You don't need a new girlfriend every two seconds, you're always coming to me about some crush—"
"It's more than just a crush, Samu," the older brother slightly pushed his brother off of him, "you don't get it." Atsumu walked off, annoyed at the idea of him moving on from the most beautifulest girl he's seen.
Atsumu Miya was a lot of things; an amazing setter, the better Miya twin, and most of all — a woman pleaser. He had girls practically throwing themselves at him daily, his locker practically overflowing with love letters, the student section of his volleyball games was filled just for him, he practically was a pro at getting women to like him.
Meanwhile, Serenity ate her bento with an annoyed look on her face. She practically was stabbing her rice with chopsticks and if looks could kill, anyone who even got near her would be dead. Her scowl didn't go away, even when eating her food, "and then he fucking waved at me, who the fuck is this guy?"
"The blonde from yesterday? Isn't his name.... Aaron, Atsumu? Something like that," Vanessa tilted her head so she could think. "The coach was sweet at least."
Serenity's hair fell from its spot behind her ears, falling in front of her face, "I just don't understand why he's trying to talk to me, we spoke once!"
"Who spoke to you once?" A voice asked from behind them. At a lack of response from the girls, the boy opted to sit next to Serenity with his arm flung over her shoulder, "do I have competition?"
"You don't have competition," Serenity moved his arm and put the lid on her bento box, "what are you doing here?"
"I can't hang out with my wife and her maid of honor?" A cheeky grin appeared on his face as he opened the gatorade bottle that he brought over.
"I will never be your wife."
Atsumu clicked his teeth, looking over at the cheer captain, "and how was yer day?" He felt pride in being able to last this long without either of the girls leaving.
"It's been fine, we have practice later so I'm excited," a genuine smile appears on her face as she finished the rice she was eating, "do you guys have practice?"
Atsumu thinks for a second before nodding his head, "I think we have the gym after school."
Serenity's head turned towards him, her eyebrows furrowed, "we have the gym after school." Her chopsticks were now discarded inside of her bento box with the remains of her lunch.
Atsumu's smirk returned to his face, "would it be bad for us to share?" His head tilted to get a better look at her, her eyes narrow while his relaxed.
"There is no way in hell am I going to warm up with stupid little boys!"
Serenity should've known better than to comment, now she's standing in front of the so called stupid little boys in her tee-shirt and black dolphin shorts. Her arms crossed as she watched Coach Imike go over the dance routine they needed to learn for their first basketball game.
The older woman had a smile on her face as she showed the girls the moves slowly. On the opposite side of the gym, Atsumu stared at the girl in front, he could very clearly see her focused face as she danced. The volleyball and the cheer coaches negotiated a split practice since the girls needed to practice with the gym layout. But to say it was easy was an understatement, balls constantly flying past the cheerleaders, boys accidentally pushing them while running, and Atsumu being a ball hog trying to show off.
"If you take the ball one more fucking time, Tsumu," Suna crossed his arms, standing in front of his friend now. "The cheerleaders aren't even paying attention to you," for the second time today, another persons hands touched Atsumu's shoulders.
"Do you think he's mad because we had to turn off our music?" Osamu joked and shook his brother again. Usually in their practices, they're allowed to play whatever songs that will put them in a trying mood on the speakers, but today the cheerleaders are using it. Instead of ASAP Rocky, they were listening to a mashup of songs with random whistles.
"Psh, I'd listen to nails on a chalkboard if it meant I got to see 'er," a smile on his face as he grabbed the volleyball that bounced towards his feet.
"I bet that you can't hit the ball further than me," Suna smirked, rolling his shoulders in circles.
Atsumu rolled his eyes, "yer on — Samu, set for us!" He tossed the ball to his brother, getting in a ready position. His large brown eyes watched as Osamu tossed the ball slightly above him before allowing it to fall back towards him, his fingers barely touched the ball as he flicked his wrists. Once the ball left his palms, Atsumu started a sprint — swinging his arms with intensity and jumping as high as he could, making the ball smack his palm with all of the force he had. Atsumu landed with a heavy breath, his hands raised when he stood with a laugh that left his throat, "try that Sunarin."
Atsumu turned around, making eye contact with his friend and his twin who started laughing at him. The blonde raised an eyebrow and turned around, looking for the ball. He was immediately met with the sight of his "future wife" on the floor with the ball bouncing away from her.
"Tsumu just hit the cheerleader!"
