Twenty Nine

"Please follow me, sir."

The hostess politely showed the way leading to the private dining room of a 5 star restaurant where Jungkook made reservations.

The place was huge and classy, definitely a restaurant for the elites which Taehyung never thought he would be able to dine in.

He roamed his eyes around, captivated by the intricate design and carvings on the walls, resembling ancient scriptures in a royal palace.

"Are you sure this is a restaurant?" He whispered to the ravenette who just simply smiled at him.

Taehyung marveled at the beauty around him, unaware that Jungkook was staring at him with amused eyes.

He flinched when he felt Jungkook hold his hand, intertwining their fingers as they walked down the hall.

The warmth of the ravenette's skin made him blush as he stared at their clasped hands.

Taehyung felt his heart thump off his chest as he smiled like an idiot, not minding the discreet glance of the hostess to them.

They stopped in front of a private room as the hostess opened the door, revealing an even more classy and elegant interior that had Taehyung gaping.

Jungkook carefully pulled him to where the table was set with scented candles and rose petals scattered down the floor.

He was out of words, not expecting any of this as Jungkook pulled a chair for him and let him take a seat.

When Jungkook said earlier that they'll be having dinner, Taehyung didn't expect something like this.

"What's the occasion?" He couldn't help but ask as soon as the hostess leave the room.

Jungkook chuckled, seeing the disbelief in his face. "Is there a need for an occasion to have a dinner date with you?"

Taehyung smiled sweetly, feeling tingles all over his body. He looked at the ravenette across him, the dim light from the candle made the feeling more intimate and calming.

Jungkook reached out for Taehyung's hand on the table, tenderly holding it against his own as he stared at him with loving eyes.

"I want to make it up to you, Tae." the ravenette promised.

Taehyung squeezed Jungkook's hand tenderly. "You don't have to do things like this just to make it up to me. Having you by my side again is more than enough."

Jungkook felt warm, hearing those words from him. He lifted Taehyung's hand, gently pulling it near his lips as he placed a soft lingering kiss.

"I love you, Kim Taehyung." Jungkook whispered, making Taehyung smile even more from the sudden confession.

He felt his heart swell in too much joy as he whispered, "I love you too, Kookie."

They leaned toward each other until their faces are leveled.

Jungkook carefully caressed Taehyung's face with a smile that melted all the pain he had felt for the past few days.

Slowly, their lips met in a passionate kiss, full of love and longing for each other.

They were in their own world when soft knocks were heard coming from the door.

"Dear guests, your food is here." the hostess announced before the door carefully opened.

Jungkook and Taehyung pulled away with a silly grin on their faces as the attendants placed their food on the table.

A loud pop coming from the bottle of champagne being opened resonated in the room, making Taehyung giggle.

The attendant smiled before pouring the champagne on their glass.

"Thank you." Taehyung uttered.

"Enjoy the night, dear guests." The attendant bowed down after finishing all his tasks before politely leaving the two once more.

Jungkook took his glass, urging Taehyung to do the same. He lifted it up for a toast which the brunet gladly accepted.

"To us." Jungkook whispered making him grin.

"To us." Taehyung repeated, clinking their glasses together before taking a sip.

They stared at each other for a long while. Jungkook's eyes travelled on the necklace adorning his neck which instantly made him feel elated.

"The necklace suits you, Tae." Jungkook praised.

Taehyung instinctively reached out for the necklace, tracing his fingers on the pendant.

"I won't be going anywhere without this. Ever." He promised, making Jungkook smile even more.

"Good."

Their night was filled with giggles and laughter as both of them bask in the feeling of contentment in each other's arms.

"Good morning." Taehyung greeted the security guard who opened the door for him as he went inside the company.

"Good morning sir." was the guards reply, saluting to him who couldn't help but smile.

He headed towards the elevator as he kept on humming to himself.

"Secretary Kim."

Taehyung, who was about to enter the elevator, halted at the call. He turned to look and saw the woman in the front desk rushing toward him.

"Yes?" He asked, seeing a brown envelope in her hand.

"This was delivered earlier, addressed to Mr. Jeon." the woman smiled, handing the envelope to him.

"Okay. Thank you." Taehyung returned the smile before finally boarding the elevator.

He stepped out as soon as he reached the floor, still humming the last song he had heard inside his car while driving his way to work.

Taehyung didn't bother knocking as he opened the door, revealing Jungkook whose busy with another bunch of paperwork.

"Morning." Taehyung greeted.

"Hmm." Jungkook hummed in response.

The brunet made his way to the ravenette's table, careful not to bother the latter.

"Got this from the front desk this morning." Taehyung placed the envelope on the side.

Jungkook just glanced at it before turning his attention back on signing some papers.

"How's my... father?" Jungkook asked, earning a small smile from Taehyung.

He had been visiting Jungkook's father for a while now before going to work which explains why Jungkook was already inside the office before Taehyung arrived.

"He's doing great. The doctor said he'll be discharged after a few more days."

"Hmm." Jungkook nodded his head, glancing at Taehyung for a while with a small smile on his face.

"Thank you." Jungkook said as he turned his attention back on the papers waiting for him to be signed.

Taehyung shakes his head. He fought the urge to plunge himself to the ravenette and pepper him with kisses from how cute he looks like as he seriously read the papers in front of him.

He sighed, moving away from Jungkook as he repeatedly chant in his mind that he should separate personal affairs with work related stuff.

Taehyung sat on his chair when he remembered something.

"Sir, I'll just remind you about the meeting with Mr. Young at 3 pm about the land acquisition in Jeju." Taehyung said, making Jungkook stop.

"Okay. Ready the documents needed for that." Jungkook instructed to which Taehyung nodded.

"Yes, sir."

The time passed by so fast and the meeting had transpired. It was short and the objectives were tackled directly on point.

Jungkook was able to acquire the property he was eyeing in Jeju which clearly made his mood go up the roof.

They made their way back inside the office with Jungkook smiling a lot, to his employees' surprise.

"You're too happy, huh?" Taehyung asked as soon as they went inside.

"Yeah. Does it show?" Jungkook questioned, slumping back on his chair with a smirk.

"You look like someone who won a lottery, to be honest." Taehyung answered, making Jungkook chuckle.

The ravenette looked at his desk and saw the envelope from that morning. He reached for it, still grinning at the brunet who's now busy arranging his things before going home.

Jungkook looked for the sender on the envelope but found none. He tore it open, sliding his hand inside, slowly pulling the papers out.

The smile on his face slowly vanished as he studied the contents of the envelope.

"What's that?" Taehyung curiously asked.

Jungkook immediately pushed the documents back inside the envelope.

"Nothing." He answered, shrugging his shoulders. "Are you going home already?" He asked, seeing Taehyung closing his bag.

"Yeah. I promised to have a coffee with Jimin and Jin." Taehyung apologetically smiled at the ravenette who just nodded his head.

"Okay. Drive safely and don't forget to text me." Jungkook reminded, making Taehyung grin.

"Yes sir." He answered, taking his bag with him as he made his way to the ravenette.

"I'll be going now." Taehyung leaned over the table, quickly placing a kiss on Jungkook's lips.

"Bye. Love you." He winked before waving his hand and walking out of the room.

"Bye. Love you too." Jungkook responded as the door finally closes.

He paused for a long while before turning his attention back on the envelope on his desk.

Jungkook carefully took it and pulled out the contents once more. He laid everything on top of his table as he studied them.

There were pictures of Taehyung visiting his father in the hospital, obviously taken without them knowing.

He went over every picture, unaware that he's holding his breath, seeing Taehyung smiling brightly to his father, helping him with a lot of things... embracing him.

He dropped the pictures, not wanting to entertain ideas in his mind. He turned his attention on the documents, eyes turning wide when he realized what it was about.

Vehicle Purchase Agreement

His brows furrowed as he reads everything. However, only two things caught his attention.

Car model: 2018 Porsche Panamera

His grip tightened as he reads the buyer's name.

Buyer: Jeon Jungho

Jungkook doesn't know what to think as he harshly dropped the papers on the table.

He angrily took his phone out, dialling the number of the only person in his mind who would send him all these things.

A few rings and the call was picked up.

"What a sur-"

"What's your motive for sending this shit to me, Lisa?" Jungkook cuts her off, his rage beyond control.

There was a long silence from the other line before a laugh was heard.

"So you finally saw it." Lisa uttered in amused tone.

"Cut the crap and answer me." Jungkook firmly commanded, making Lisa laugh even more.

"Nothing. I was just letting you see what you're missing here, Kookoo." Lisa answered.

"I have to make you see how vile that secretary of yours is." She added in a mocking tone.

Jungkook sighed, trying to control his anger. "This doesn't prove anything." He stated, making Lisa fake a gasp.

"Really? Suit yourself, Kookoo." She said in an insulting voice.

"If you think that doesn't prove anything, go ahead and convince yourself." She paused for a moment before continuing.

"If you think giving a luxury car to a new employee is a normal thing to do, you seriously need help." Lisa mockingly laughed at him.

"And you know what else is shocking?" She squealed in excitement, obviously enjoying this.

"Your secretary had received a full time financial assistance from the scholarship funded by your company when he was still studying." She laughed even more.

"Isn't that amazing?! He received a full-time scholarship, got a secretarial job for a big company right after he graduated, and the best thing of all, received a luxury car.. Wow!" She uttered in amusement.

"Can you sign me up for a job like that?" Lisa taunted which only heightened Jungkook's anger.

Even though he doesn't want to entertain the thoughts in his head, Bogum's words suddenly came flashing in his memory.

Do you even know how many men he had before you?

He spreads his legs in exchange of money and uses his angelic face to get what he wants. And once he does, he'll drop you like a hot potato.

Do you think you're good in bed just because you make him moan? Dude. He's so good in faking it.

You're nothing but a human atm who can give him tons of money in exchange of a good sex.

"Shut the fuck up." He gritted his teeth in rage, pushing the thoughts away from his mind.

He had thanked the heavens that the woman is not in front of him or else he would've done something he shouldn't have.

"I don't know what you're aiming to get from telling me all these, but fuck you! These don't faze me. I love Taehyung and nothing you say nor do could change that." Jungkook said in controlled anger.

There was a long silence from the other line before Lisa bursted out in laughter.

"Oh my god! You're hilarious, Kookoo." She giggled, not taking him seriously.

"I wonder how long you could convince yourself with that." She stopped from laughing, voice suddenly becoming serious.

"I'll be waiting for you to come running in my arms when you finally realize and accept that everything I said is true." She uttered before unceremoniously ending the call.

Jungkook sharply filled his lungs with air as he tried calming the storm in him. He glared at the pictures and documents on top of his table before grabbing and tearing them apart.

He believes Taehyung.

Nothing can change that.
