Forty Seven
"Daddy look! There's uncle Hobi!"
Taehyung heard the child say and pointed near where he was sitting which made his heart thump loudly off his chest.
Even before Jungkook could turn to look where the child was pointing, Taehyung immediately stood and left his seat, feeling his body tremble in indescribable emotions.
He rushed opposite to where the ravenette was standing, going absolutely with no direction in mind.
He just knew he had to walk away.
His mind was in chaos as well as his emotions. He had his head hanging low when he felt a hand grabbing his arm.
"Hey, Tae."
He turned to look and saw Jimin with confusion written all over his face.
"I've been calling you. Where are you going? The ceremony will be starting in a few." He asked, eyes scrutinizing Taehyung's face.
"Bathroom...yeah... I was looking for a bathroom." Taehyung forced a smile.
"It's in the other way." Jimin pointed out, making Taehyung turn on his heel.
"Okay. Thanks." Taehyung smiled, hurriedly heading toward the direction where Jimin had pointed.
The older trailed his eyes to the brunet who seemed a bit odd. He looked pale which worried him even more.
He was thinking of going after him when he felt Yoongi's arm circle his waist.
"Hey, let's go." Yoongi whispered to his ear.
Jimin could only nod as the two of them made their way to the empty seats in front.
They haven't gotten that close when a little child came running to Yoongi.
"Uncle Yoonie!"
Yoongi instantly smiled at the little boy who was clinging to his left leg like a koala.
"Hey there, buddy!" Yoongi smiled, a rare sight.
He lifted the boy and peppered him with sweet little kisses that made him squeal.
"tickles!"
Yoongi laughed as Jimin just silently stared at the two. His eyes darted to Jungkook who's smiling at his son's happy face.
And then, it struck him.
He turned to look at the direction where Taehyung went. He quickly excused himself to rush and look for the brunet.
That's why he looked so out of it.
He must've seen them already.
Jimin made his way to the bathroom, immediately seeing Taehyung standing in front of the mirror.
"Tae.." He called out, snapping the latter from the trance he was in.
"Uh.. Hey.. Did the ceremony start already?" Taehyung asked, ducking down to wash his hands.
Jimin didn't respond as he made his way to the brunet's back, hugging him without a word.
He felt Taehyung stiffen for a moment before he slowly relaxed.
"I should've told you.." Jimin whispered in a tone full of regret.
There's a long silence before Taehyung finally spoke.
"You tried to tell me last night, right?" He asked, looking at Jimin through the mirror.
"It's alright, Jimin. It's my decision not to hear any news about him.. so it's fine." He smiled but it didn't reach his eyes.
"Jin and I just knew about it a year ago. Namjoon, Yoongi and Hoseok didn't tell us anything about it." Jimin confessed as he rested his chin on Taehyung's shoulder.
"We haven't heard any news from him when we quit our jobs in their company." Jimin sighed, hugging Taehyung even more.
"Trust me Tae. We were both angry at him, seeing how he's so happy with his life now while you've suffered too much." He continued which made Taehyung smile.
"It's really okay, Jimin. I was just shocked, I guess." Taehyung looked down to his hands.
"I didn't think he'll be able to move on just like that." He confessed, clasping his hands together.
"I'm a fool, Jimin. I thought..." He sighed, not able to continue as he felt a stabbing pain in his heart.
"I'm sorry, Tae." Jimin buried his face on Taehyung's shoulder.
"Silly. It's not your fault." Taehyung smiled as he turned around.
"Let's go now. Today is Jin's big day! We can't ditch him just because I'm being dramatic." Taehyung grinned, cupping Jimin's face.
"Let's go before he kills us both." He dragged him out but Jimin halted midway.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Jimin asked in a serious tone.
Taehyung laughed. "I am. Let's hurry!" He didn't allow the other to protest as they made their way to the empty seats.
As they approached, everyone in front darted their eyes to their direction.
Everyone including Jungkook.
Taehyung didn't spare him a glance but he could feel his eyes boring on him.
He's staring at him intensely to the point that he could feel it creeping to his skin.
Burning him.
It took him all the courage not to look his way as he sat at the farthest end, next to Jimin who wouldn't let go of his hand.
"Where did you go?" Hobi asked, sitting next to Yoongi.
"Bathroom." Jimin simply answered. His eyes landed on the child sitting to Hoseok's lap who's curiously looking past Jimin.
Looking curiosly at Taehyung.
"Uncle Hobi..." the child uttered, poking Hoseok's cheeks.
"Yes, Junghyun?" Hoseok looked at the little boy who kept on poking his cheeks.
"When will we eat?" He mumbled, making Hoseok laugh.
"Later, buddy." Yoongi butted in, pinching Junghyun's cheeks.
The little child pouted as he went off from Hoseok's lap. He stood on the ground, his curious eyes pierced to Taehyung.
"Who is he, uncle Hobi?" Junghyun whispered, a bad attempt since everyone on their line heard it.
Hoseok just laughed, lifting the boy once more before placing him to the empty chair in between him and Jungkook.
"The ceremony will start, buddy. We'll eat after this." Hoseok whispered.
"Okay.. Let's eat lots and lots of chocolate!" Junghyun demonstrated the amount of chocolate with his arms, spreading it wide.
Jungkook's laugh echoed and though there's a music playing in the garden, Taehyung heard it.
He couldn't mistake the sound of his laugh, so rich and so beautiful even to his ears.
"Okay, baby. We'll eat everything you want." Jungkook said, voice too soft and full of adoration for his little man.
Taehyung doesn't know how he was able to stay calm on his seat as the ceremony started.
He focused his attention to Jin's bright face as Namjoon held his hand. He looked so happy which lifted half of Taehyung's burden.
He shouldn't focus on what he's feeling at the moment.
This is Jin's day. He shouldn't ruin it just because of an old scar that he thought to have healed by now.

"Congratulations, Jin and Namjoon!" Taehyung and Jimin beamed as they went to the newly weds.
Taehyung quickly hugged Jin, squeezing him tight.
"I'm so happy for you!" He beamed, cupping Jin's face as he smiled at him.
Jin was teary eyed, still feeling like he's dreaming.
"Thank you, Tae." Jin said, smiling thankfully at the other.
In that moment, the rest of the boys came to their side.
"Bro, you're married now. Imagine?" Yoongi grinned, shaking Namjoon's hand.
"I know. I still can't believe it." Namjoon smiled. His eyes darted to Jungkook who's holding Junghyun in his arms.
"Glad you came." Namjoon said, grabbing Jungkook's hand for a handshake.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world." Jungkook responded.
Everyone went silent as Jimin and Jin couldn't even look at Jungkook. Their eyes were fixated to Taehyung who's just looking at the ground saying nothing.
"Uh.. Have you all eaten?" Namjoon asked, feeling the heavy atmosphere.
"Yeah.. We're about to leave, actually." Jimin quickly answered, pulling Taehyung next to him.
"Congratulations again to the both of you!" Jimin added, hugging Jin and Namjoon.
"Let's go." He dragged Taehyung away who could only smile at Jin and the others.
Yoongi just shakes his head. "I'll be going now." He said to Namjoon who nodded his head.
Before he could leave, he had heard Jin whisper to Namjoon.
"I told you it would be best if you didn't invite Jungkook."
It was a whisper, but Yoongi knew Jungkook had heard it.
He looked at the ravenette who just went off with Hoseok and Junghyun.
Yoongi couldn't help but furrow his brows as he followed Jimin and Taehyung.
"I told you Jimin, I'm really fine." Taehyung assured, but Jimin just brushed him off.
"You don't look fine. I'll let you sleep with me tonight." Jimin said as they made their way to Yoongi's car.
"Oh fuck! I left my purse." Jimin groaned, realizing what's missing from him.
"Wait here. I'll be quick." Jimin said, making his way back to the reception.
Taehyung stood there, waiting patiently as Yoongi finally caught up. He looked at him in a way that made Taehyung feel a bit uncomfortable.
"You know, I don't really meddle with any shit but you, acting like you're the only victim here, makes me want to just slap the truth to your face." Yoongi said in a firm and irritated voice.
Taehyung paused, a bit taken aback by the latter's words. He looked at Yoongi as if he had grown three heads.
"What's with you? Are you mad at me?" He asked, feeling the older's annoyance toward him.
"I'm not fucking mad. I'm just too tired of seeing you get all the sympathy while Jungkook's being treated like he didn't suffer at all!" Yoongi bellowed, a rather unusual behavior from someone who would just rather sit and watch than do nothing at all.
Taehyung furrowed his brows, feeling hurt by Yoongi's sudden outburst.
"Are you mad because you're forced to leave? You can stay. I can just go home by myself." He argued.
"That's not the fucking point. I'm just sick of seeing you getting all the sympathy." Yoongi responded, making Taehyung furrow his brows.
"Well I have all the right to get all the sympathy! For fucking 7 years, I tried my best to move on while he - !" He said, unable to say Jungkook's name, chest rising and falling from too much anger.
Anger that he thought he was already over with.
"Do you fucking know how hard it is to move on from betrayal?! From the pain he had caused me?! From all the lies?!" Taehyung's anger was getting the best of him yet again.
He looked at Yoongi with daggers in his eyes. "You don't know anything so just shut up."
"Well I won't. You're the one who doesn't know anything so you shut up." Yoongi retorted back.
He stared at the brunet who just looked at him with annoyance.
"You might have felt pain.. even betrayal, but was it only you?" Yoongi said in a challenging voice.
"Jungkook had experienced the same, Taehyung. He had to deal with the pain and betrayal as well! You're not the only one who was lied upon." He firmly stated, stressing his point.
"You're not the only victim here. Perhaps he even experienced something worse than yours." He added to which Taehyung just scoffed in disbelief.
"You never had to deal with regret, something Jungkook had to suffer with when you left." Yoongi looked away, jaw tightening in controlled anger.
"You think he didn't suffer when you left because he looked okay now? Because he has a child?" Yoongi shakes his head in disbelief.
Taehyung couldn't utter a single word. He felt his heart clench at the way Yoongi is talking to him.
It's as if he's blaming him.
For what?
"That child kept him sane, Taehyung. When everything else failed, that child saved him."
