"Jay, keys, remote." Ben voice carried, rushing down the steps behind Jay and tossing him the stated items. Behind himself, Evie and Carlos were running downs just as fast.
"Wait!" Evie yelled as they got to the bottom of the steps and in front of the car, "Something's wrong." She stared intently at Ben before reaching up and fixing his beanie.
"Oh." He sighed. Evie eyed him before a wave of satisfaction washed over her, "There."
"Shotgun!" A loud voice yelled, making Carlos jump. As he turned, he came face to face with his dog, "No, Dude, stay. The Isle is way too dangerous."
Dude whimpered as Ben, Evie, and Jay all gasped, "Did he just..."
"Talk? Yeah, I know. I'll tell you later. Hey Evie, didn't you say El was coming, too?"
"I'm right here, dipshit." The redheads voice sounded as she rounded the limousine. The four teenagers all looked at each other before simultaneously nodding and beelining for the car.
"Let's go." Ben said.
Each of them opened their respective doors with Jay driving, Carlos in passenger, and Ben, Elodie, and Evie in the back.
"Okay." The blue haired girl started once she was seated, "Once we cross the bridge, park under the pier in the old garage. Got it?"
"Got it."
⚔︎
It was approximation a thirty minute drive, the magic bridge quite literally taking all of their breaths away, and soon they were parking. Stepping out of the limousine, Elodie took a deep breath, "Yup, still smells like shit."
Ben elbowed her in the ribs, causing her to groan out as Carlos turned around, "Ben, help me with the tarp."
The two boys immediately went over to grab it, leaving Jay, Evie, and Elodie standing by the car, ready to help cover it.
"Jay?" Carlos said, gaining his attention, "Yeah." He nodded, immediately understanding.
The Jafar boy went over to the two girls, taking the tarp from their hands, "I got it."
"It's really weird being back here." Evie whispered, looking around, getting an agreeing nod from Elodie. Jay furrowed his brows, "We'll get in and get out."
"Jay." Carlos' voice echoed, grabbing his attention. Elodie's head snapped towards him, before rushing to held with the second tarp.
As the redhead was pulling it, she failed to notice Ben walking over to a tunnel until he questioned, "Hey, what's in here?"
"Ben.." She warned, running over immediately with Evie, Jay, and Carlos. The Jafar boy took hold of the Kings arm, "You don't want to know."
"Hey, guys," Carlos started, gaining everyone's attention, "Keep it chill, alright? Last thing we need is our parents figuring out we're here."
"Um," Elodie interjected, "I would actually love to see my mom, thank you very much."
Though her comment was ignored by him as he and Jay started to walk away, Evie and Ben trailing behind them.
Soon, they were rushing through twisted alleyways filled with all different kinds of people. Elodie found it amusing to watch Ben's shocked faces as he took in their appearances.
As they were walking down a particular alley, Evie gasped. Turning around, the redhead caught sight of the former evil-ette trying to pry two little boys hands off of her.
She suddenly stopped her struggling, looking over the children intently, "Just take it." She said, gesturing to her wallet in the youngest boys hand.
Elodie watched with a sorrowful expression as the boys' faces morphed into shock, before they took off running, giggling happily.
After a moment, Evie rejoined her and the boys', tapping them aggressively once she noticed Ben was no longer with them, "El, can you...?"
Elodie sighed, "I got it."
She held out her hands, a blue mist streaking from them. The mist acted like a guide, creating a structure like one of veins in her hands, leading them to where Ben wandered off to.
The redhead lead the way, her companions following closely. They ended up in an area closed off.
Spotting Ben right away, - perks of sticking out like a sore thumb - they ran up to him, noticing someone squaring up on him.
"Ben, stop. Just stop." Elodie yelled, taking him by the arm while Carlos pushed the other guy back.
"Why?" He asked, a confused glint twinkling in his eye. The redhead suddenly wanted to punch him for his inability to understand, "This isn't a fancy parade, it's the Isle."
"Keep your hands in your pockets unless you're stealing." Jay joined in, an equally annoyed look on his face. Carlos held his hand up in an instructing manner, "You either slouch or strut."
"And never ever smile." Evie immediately added, eyeing Ben.
The King barely let their words sink in before responding, "Okay, thanks-"
"-No." Evie cut him off, "Everybody's got a wicked side. I know you think that you can never be like us, watch and learn so you can get it right."
"You need to drag your feet. You need to. of your head. You need to lean back, slip through the cracks. You need to not care." The four VK's sang while demonstrating.
"Uh, you need to not stare." Carlos said, walking up to Ben.
"You need a whole lot of help." They sang once again. Evie leaned over to him, "You need to not be yourself."
"You wanna be cool? Let me show you how. You need to break the rules, and I can show you how. Once you catch this feeling, yeah, once you catch this feeling, You'll be chillin', chillin', oh, chillin' like a villain. Chill. Chillin' like a villain. Chill. Chillin' like a villain. Hey! Chillin' like, Chillin' like, Hey! A villain."
"You draw attention, when you act like that." Elodie sang, strutting up to Ben when he paused by a merchant selling knives from his coat, "Let us teach you how to disappear. You look like you would lose a fight to an alley cat. You gotta be wrong to get it right around here."
"You need to watch your back. You need to creep around. You need to slide real smooth. Don't make a sound. And if you want it, take it. And if you can't take it, break it. If you care about your health,"
"Seriously, you need to not be yourself." Evie stated.
"You wanna be cool? Let me show you how. You need to break the rules, I can show you how. Once you catch this feeling, yeah, once you catch this feeling, You'll be chillin', chillin', oh, chillin' like a villain. Chill. Chillin' like a villain. Hey! Chill. Chillin' like..."
"I really wanna be bad a lot," Ben started, breaking off from them, "And I'm giving it my best shot. But it's hard being what I'm not."
"Well, if you don't, you're gonna get us caught." Carlos replied.
Evie tapped Jay and Ben, "He's right, we gotta stay low key. Now show us how bad you can be."
"Like this?" Ben asked, putting on a pair of sunglasses he snagged. "Like this?" He pulled out a paper that had previously been in Jay's pocket, and then Carlos' phone. "Oh yeah, I think I got this, let's go, I'm ready to rock this. And I ain't gonna thank you for your help, I think I found the worst in myself."
"You wanna be cool? Let me show you how. You need to break the rules, I can show you how. Once you catch this feeling, yeah, once you catch this feeling, You'll be chillin', chillin', oh, chillin' like a villain. Chill. Chillin' like a villain. Chill. Chillin' like a villain. Chill. Chillin' like a villain. Chill. Hey! Chillin' like a villain."
Ben had been so caught up with practicing what they he just went over, that he failed to notice someone walking into him.
"Hey, man. Hey... Hey, I know you." Gil said, looking over Ben. The King slouched, "Uh, no. Don't know you either, man."
Elodie mentally face palmed. She internally hopes Gil wouldn't recognize her, and thankfully, he hadn't even looked her way yet.
"Uh, yeah, you do. Come on, man. Really? Huh? Dude, I'll give you a hint. My dad is quick, slick, and his neck... huh... is incredibly thick." He said, grinning.
Elodie had been too caught up mocking him, she hadn't noticed the way his eyes trailed over to the poster Ben's face was plastered on. The realization that dawned on Gil's face was pure amusement to her, "Oh, you're King Ben." He gasped.
"Okay." He chuckled nervously, "I-I don't think so."
"Yeah. You totally are King Ben." He said as they ran off, "And you're Jay, Carlos, Evie, aw, Elodie, you're back. Hey guys."
"Hi Gil." Elodie laughed as she followed, but not before stopping to see her favorite himbo - besides Jay.
The Legume boy stood still in the alley for a moment, before it struck him, "Ah... Uma's going to love this."
