From what I learned and seen is that Obsidian used to work as a the chief police officer here in Beach City, but then he retired. During that time I was only a regular police officer. When he left, I had to take his place.

Well, we did get into an argument once about a certain case that included Pearl. Other than that, we don't have much confrontation with each other.
