Train Conductor: AND STAY OFF!
(throws Pearl off train)

Pearl: Y-you don't understand! I need to stay on here so I can get to New Yo-

Train Conductor: Leave now, or I'll call the police! You're lucky I haven't yet!

Pearl backed away with her satchel on her shoulder and her jacket in her hand. She slowly backs away and starts walking to some city she doesn't know. She really should have gotten up earlier or hid somewhere where the train workers wouldn't find her, but it was too late now. Pearl curses to herself as she passes people walking on the sidewalk. Not really knowing where she was going, she took her time walking. People around her were annoyed so they pushed her so they could get to their destination's faster. When Pearl felt a mighty force hit her arm, she tripped and fell onto a garbage can. It caused the debris to spill across the concrete and on her. Pedestrians continued walking without sparing a look at Pearl. The girl huffed as she tried to get back on her feet. She smelled like old Chinese food and rotten eggs. Even when she was not at school, she'd still get hurt. "Figures". Pearl shook off the old food that was on her jacket and on her black t-shirt.
She thought to herself of what she should do now. For sure she needed to find some food and shelter, so she continued walking.

(Time skip)

The store bell chimed as Pearl pushed the door. As she entered in, the smell of smoke filled her nostrils, which caused her to gag. She covered her nose with her shirt as she looked through the food aisle. The old food from her too smelled bad but Pearl thought it was better than breathing in a drug that could kill your lungs. She looked through a bag of chips and a can of soda. Pearl then stashed them into her bag as quickly as she could before anyone could see her. She then calmly walked out of there, hoping that no one saw her steal some food.

The sound of the old swings squeaking echoed through the park. It was around 12pm and Pearl was at an old playground. The rust spread from the chains to the slides; yeah, the place was pretty old. It was pretty much abandoned from the looks of it, which meant no one was hear to bother Pearl. This whole day in the city, she walked around and explored. She found a couple food places, a mall, a lake, and some motels . Of course though, she didn't have enough money because she forgot to steal her mom's wallet.
Remembering her stupidity, Pearl face-palmed. As she sighed, the crickets in the background played their songs and the pigeons cooed under the moon's light.

The sun's rays were enough for Pearl to open her eyes. She yawned loudly as she stretched her arms open. It was then that she realized she fell asleep on the old rusty slide. Pearl searched through her bag again, in search of photographs. She took out one picture she photographed herself  with Garnet. The photograph radiated the crystal sky at beach city in the morning. Pearl looked to her photo and then back to grey sky that was in front of her. She couldn't help but miss Beach City a bit...
