Peridot: Amethyst!

The Dorito ran to her friend and stopped behind her a couple of feet. Her friend continued looking at the ground motionless. The rain continued pouring from the sky and soaked the two teenagers.

Peridot: What are you doing out here?!
It's freezing! Come inside or you'll catch a cold!
(grabs Amethyst's shoulder)

Amethyst still doesn't move

Peridot: Ame'! Will you please listen to...

She steps in front of Amethyst and lifts up her face with her hand. Her best friend had tear stains on her cheeks and her eyes were swollen and puffy from crying so long. Guilt rushes over Peridot and she starts to feel like the worst person in the world. What has she done?

Amethyst: Just go away you- (voice cracks)
S-stupid! I don't want you he-here! I- (sobs)
You d-don't!  (gasps for air)
You don't get it do you?! (looks at ground)

Peridot: Get what?

Amethyst: (yells) I LOVE YOU! 
(sobs in hands)

Peridot: (stands there with wide eyes)

Amethyst: Ever since you became my friend, I-I've always had a crush on you! I t-tried to fight i-it but you make it so hard for me! Your star struck eyes! Y-your dorky smile! I just can't handle it! (wipes cheek) ...I just r-ruined everything now, haven't I? (looks away)

Arms tighten around Amethyst and pull her close to Peridot's chest. Ame' stood there barley as she slowly accepts the hug. She buries her face into Perri's shirt and felt better. Her cheeks felt hot as she looked back up to Peridot. The Dorito smiled at her lover and she leaned in and kissed Amethyst on her head.

Peridot: It's okay... (caresses Amethyst's back)
I've felt this way for a while too...
(smiles sheepishly)

Amethyst: (sad)
Why didn't you say anything?

Peridot: I was scared like a coward...
I couldn't imagine someone who's beautiful as you to like a dork like me...
(frowns and looks away)

Amethyst: (gripped Perri's collar)

I need you...

Peridot: ... (face is burning)

Slowly as the two were closing in on their real first kiss, in the background stood an angry Lapis. She couldn't believe what she was seeing! Her world came crashing down.
