It was awkward that morning when they both woke up. Peridot and Amethyst tried to ignore each other due to the "incident" that happened between them last night. They walked to the bus-stop without talking and didn't say a word while sitting next to each other on the bus.When the bus arrived at school, Amethyst walked slowly while she followed Peridot through the halls. Peridot had her head down as she saw Lapis rush over to her. Her blue girlfriend hugged her Dorito tightly as she kissed her cheek.

Lapis: Baby, I was thinking...
(twirls Peridot's hair)
Can we go on a date tonight?
(smiles sweetly)

Peridot: U-um well, you see...
(glances over to Amethyst)

Lapis Lazuli was making it obvious that Peridot was hers and only hers. She kept making her point whenever she glanced at Amethyst and continued to hold Peridot. Amethyst couldn't take it anymore so she decided to leave.

Amethyst: (puts hoodie over head)
Later, I'm going to class...
(walks past them)

Peridot: But-

The Dorito watched as Amethyst walked away from them and disappeared into the crowd of people. Peridot wanted to chase after her but Lapis was holding her in her arms.

Lapis: What's your answer?
(caresses Peridot's cheek)

Peridot: Look, Lapis I'm kind of busy tonight!
You know... (backs away)
Tests and homework!
(smiles nervously)
You have to understand!

Lapis: (narrows eyes slightly)
I understand perfectly
(clenches fist behind her back and fakes a smile)
I'll see you at class then, bye babe!
(kisses Peridot's lips and waves as she leaves)

Peridot sighed as she started to walk to the girls bathroom. When she entered she dropped her backpack to the brick wall. She then threw her arms on the sink and looked in the mirror.

Peridot's MIND:
Why are you ungrateful!
You're with Lapis!
She's your girlfriend, and your supposed to love her! What's wrong with you!
You can't be in a relationship with Amethyst!
You'd be living a life of lies! And if Lapis found out... She'd be heartbroken!

But I'm not happy anymore... 💔

Garnet: Pearl! Wake up!

Pearl's eyes shot open and she took in her surroundings. She was in a field of grass with no other human in sight, except Garnet. There were no buildings or man-made things out here which made the place peaceful. It was quiet all the the time, except when the crickets came out at night to play their songs or when the doves flew and cooed in the morning light.

Garnet: What are you doing out here?

Pearl: (rubs eyes and yawns)
I could say the same about you!
Why are you here?
How'd you find me?

Garnet didn't have her usual police gear, but she wore a big yellow sweater with blue jeans that wrapped around her legs nicely. Pearl slightly blushed noticing how gorgeous her girlfriend was. Garnet helped Pearl up to her feet and started to speak again.

Garnet: I always come out here...
I'm out of the hospital now but I still have to be careful to not move around too much.
So Ronaldo gave me a few weeks to heal up.
(breathes in the fresh air)
It's nice out this morning!

Pearl: I agree ♥️
(stares at Garnet's jeans but then looks up)
So why do you come out here anyway?

Garnet: Getting away from everyone is nice once in a while. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends and family, but when I'm stressed...

Pearl: I get it (smiles)

The two stand in front of each other for a few seconds until their hands meet and caress each other. Pearl felt a wave of relief as she felt Garnet's warm hands protecting her cold palms. Garnet felt the same and smirked.

Garnet: Let's walk
(squeezes Pearl's hand)

Pearl nodded and walked by her side.The reunited love birds strolled through the field together. Pearl's head rested on Garnet's shoulder as she held her strong arm. The chilly wind blew around on them but they had each other to keep warm. They were safe at last.
