Garnet sat in the hospital bed and stared at her hands. She held two bronze heart broken necklaces in her palms. (The one above ⬆️) Garnet then slowly puts them together and saw them become a whole heart. She smiled to herself and thought of Pearl. Garnet then flashbacks to old memory that happened a few years ago.

SIX YEARS AGO

Garnet caught the football in her hands and ran across the field, avoiding the enemy team.
In the background, her moms are cheering her on. Ruby was screaming at the top of her lungs while Sapphire held up a banner saying "You Can Do This!" Rose Mintleaf was on a pyramid of cheerleaders and stood on the very top encouraging her school's team. Pearl was in the orchestra playing her trumpet loud and proud. Every now and then she would yell out Garnet's name hoping it would help and give her mental strength.

As Garnet ran across the field, she was surrounded by the opposing team. She panicked as they head straight for her, but as they do, Garnet decides to make a risky move.
She ran head forward hitting the stomachs while holding the football. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as she threw the ball over to Yellow Diamond who caught it right in time.
Yellow ran across the field and avoided the enemies. She skipped over to the other side and threw down the football completing victory. Homeworld Highschool roared and made their way to congratulate the winning team. Yellow Diamond stood there waiting for the glory and fame but everyone pasts her. Full of jealously, she sees Garnet being held up by crowds of people repeatedly screaming her name in rhythm.

"Gar-net!
That's her name!
She can beat you any day!
Go GARNET!
Horray!
Lets go, let's go
Gar-net!"

Garnet laughed as she heard her name. Her parents and Rose run over to her and give her a large hug while congrating her with compliments.

Rose: You were great out there!

Ruby: You were amazing!

Sapphire: We're so proud of you!

Garnet: Thanks, (notices) But where's Pearl?

Pearl walked out of the stadium while holding her instrument in its case. She made her way to her bike that was chained to the bicycle rack. She unlocked it and got her helmet out. Pearl then places it on her head and buckles it. She then puts her instrument in her basket and looked back to the loud stadium. Pearl sighed and thought to herself.

Pearl's thoughts

Why would Garnet need me? She has so many people who love her, why would I be anything different? I'm just a face in a large crowd...

As Pearl started to peddle away, she heard Garnet's voice. She looked back with sad eyes but didn't stop

Garnet: Pearl! Wait! (runs after Pearl on the bike) Where are you going?!

Pearl: (doesn't stop the bike)

Garnet increased her speed and ran in front of the bike and slowed it down with a screech

Garnet: (pants) Pearl! Listen!

Pearl: (looks away) What?! Why aren't you at the stadium being showered with cheers from people who love you! It's important to you, so just leave! (tries to move bike)

Garnet: (pushes back) No! That's not what's important to me!

Pearl: (yells) Then what is?!

Garnet: You! You Pearl! I care about you!

Pearl: (huffs) W-why?! Why would you want me when you can have every one else's attention?! I'm not special! (peddles harder)

Garnet: Stop! Pearl stop and listen to me!

Pearl: (gives up) ...W-what?

Garnet: Pearl Stone Water, you are the most attractive, smart, rare girl in this whole school! Hell even this whole world! You play the trumpet, you get all your school work done, you're a ballerina, and you always keep your cool when people try to get you down! You're just so amazing and everyone sees that! (holds Pearl's hand) Why can't you?

Pearl: (eyes water) I-I'm not perfect Garnet!
You deserve the very best and I'm just n-not good enough for you!

Garnet: ...You're right! You're not perfect! But your perfect for me! You're good enough to me!
You don't need anyone else's approval but mine to say I love you!

Pearl: (tears roll down her cheek) L-love me?

Garnet: What I'm trying to say is...well (coughs) will y-you.... UGH!

Pearl: (confused) What?

Garnet: P-Pearl will y-you, Oh SHOOT!

As Garnet was searching through her pockets, two heart shaped necklaces fall to the concrete.
Garnet panicked and took them in her hands, and waves her hands to Pearl.

Garnet: Wait! Uh... can we start this over?
Like can you ask me "what" again?

Pearl: ...Alright?
(clears voice)
What?

Garnet: Pearl, (bends to her knees) w-will you... (Stares at Pearl's shocked crystal blue eyes and gives up) Why is it so hard to say thi-

Pearl: Yes! I'll marry you Garnet!

Garnet: (happy) Really?! Wait how did you know I was going to-

Pearl: It was pretty obvious a few seconds ago (chuckles)

Garnet laughs sheepishly and takes Pearl off the bike spinning her around

Pearl: HAHaHa! Garnet! I love you too!

The two lock into a loving stare and rush their lips together. Garnet and Pearl didn't notice they had an audience that were standing there watching them.

Ruby: Oh YEAH!

Sapphire: ( smiles widely with her hands clasped together near her face)

Rose: Awwwwwww

Back to present

Nurse: Ms. Garnet?

Garnet: (hides necklace under blanket) Yes?

Nurse: Ms. Pearl Water would like to see you

Garnet: Let her in please...
