The following morning, it was as though everything had changed overnight. The sky was the darkest of greys and the streets were empty. It was almost like a ghost town.

"We need to move fast on this." Elena said, staring out of the window.

"I know, but we're gonna need help." He replied, holding up a number. "Mason gave this to me. It's the number for a guy. This guy he's uh.... Well I don't know what he is, but I do know that he can help us. He has experienced this before in his own town." Tyler explained.

"Okay..." Elena said pushing for more information.

"His name is Sage... But there's just one thing." He said, hoping that they could find the guy anyway.

"So... What's the catch?" She asked, half concerned.

"He lives in a place called the Dark Dimension and there are certain unpleasant things that we have to do to get there. And probably more unpleasant things while we're there." He explained.

"Okay... Then we'll do it. Whatever it takes to save the town... I don't care what we have to do." She responded, forcefully.

"I agree. But we still have to be careful. As beautiful as the Dark Dimension is.... it's also very dangerous, full of pain and torture. Are you sure you wanna do this?" He asked.

"Absolutely." She responded, pulling out a bag from the closet. "We'll just have to be prepared for anything." She added, shoving everything she thought would be needed into the bag.

"Next thing is to stock up on weapons." He said, reminding her of something she had hidden in her dad's old doctors office.

"There's something I need to retrieve before we go." She said.

"Okay. Of course. Where from?" He asked, curiously.

"My dad's old office." She responded, then added, "Let's go. I don't wanna spend a minute longer than we have to down there." With that, she hauled the bag into her shoulder and exited the room.

"Hey... You want me to take that? Seems kinda heavy."He asked.

"Nope. Thanks but I got it." She said determindely.

Back on the road after making the stop at her father's doctor's office, it dawned on her that Tyler had said something rather interesting back while they were down there.

"Certain things we have to do to get into this Dark Dimension." Elena repeated thoughtfully.

"That's right." He responded.

"What kind of things?" She asked curiously.

"Rather unpleasant things." Tyler explained, as vaguely as possible.

"Why do I suddenly get that uh oh feeling?" She asked rhetorically. "Wait... so how exactly do we get to this place?" She asked, once again confused.

"Let's just say that it's not on the map." He explained.

"Creepy." She concluded, fixing her eyes back on the road ahead. Though when she did, it wasn't just empty road in front.....

"Look Out!" She yelled as the fox came rushing towards the car.

Swerving before slamming on the breaks, he tried avoiding what happened next, only it was too late. The car had flipped. Now they were trapped. Upsidedown. In a car that, from what Tyler could see was leaking fuel. With no escape.

Frantically pressing his seat belt clip, as fuel continued to leak, he was out of options. He could not get the stupid belt to release, and neither of them could move. Then he had a crazy idea, and as a last resort, he focused as hard as he could until his two canines extended from his gums, then he gave the belt one harsh bite. Finally, the belt snapped, dropping him onto the glass covered roof.

"Elena! Elena... Come on..." He said as loud as he could, nudging her until her eyes flickered open.

"Tyler!" She coughed startled.

"It's okay. I have a plan. But I need to stay as still as possible okay. Can you do that?" He explained, hoping that she would accept it without question.

"Okay." She agreed.

With that, he grabbed the belt that was as tight as ever and repeated the same harsh bite he did to release himself, and the belt snapped, dropping her just as it had him. He quickly decided which window had the biggest gap between the creased up roof and the edge of the window, which was Elena's side and figured out their next move.

"Elena... The window. Quick." He said.

Without question, she grabbed the edge of the outside of the car, and despite the glass that was pricking her hands, pulled herself through the gap, before shuffling back to allow more room.

Tyler, on all fours as if he was in wolf form, crawled through the gap, with no choice but to place his hands on the glass that lay on the road. Once he was out, he pulled Elena to her feet and legged it as far from the car as his energy would allow, and sheilded them both just as the car exploded into angry flames.

For a moment, he thought they escaped... then, piece of razor sharp metal, flew across the road, moving almost supernaturally, made a clean, deep stab in his side. Dropping to the ground, blood spilled like a waterfall as he pulled the metal out of him. However, he was surprised when his wolf healing did not kick in, and more blood ran from his mouth.

Horrified by what just happened Elena let out a squeal and, not knowing what to do, dropped to her knees beside Tyler, who by now was lying in a pool of his own blood.

"What can I do?" Elena asked keeping her voice as calm as she possibly could.

"There's nothing you can do." Tyler whispered, choking on his own blood. "My supernatural healing should have kicked in by now."He whispered breathlessly and struggled to continue. "I think the kistune is doing something to my powers."He said, more blood spilling from his mouth.

Losing the energy he'd been using to prompt himself up on his elbows, he landed flat on his back, causing him to smack the back of his head on the hard concrete of the road.

"There's something coming... I can hear it... You have to go! Run!" He managed to say causing her to shake her head immediately.

"No! I'm not leaving you!"She insisted stubbornly as his eyes flickered closed.

"Tyler!... Tyler!!" She yelled alarmed.

She frantically searched her mind trying to find a solution but coming up with nothing, her heart pounded as she became more and more alarmed.

"Tyler!" She yelled again, trying to stir a reaction.

Not knowing what else to do her shoulders slumped as she began to feel defeated. She reached out her hand, going to place it on top of his and closed her eyes. But as soon as her hand made contact with his, she thought she felt a static shock, causing her eyes to shoot open.

What she saw was a bright golden spark, fading quickly, losing hope, she dropped her head, staring into the ground. Then she felt Tyler's hand move slightly, causing her to look up once more as his eyes blinked open.

"Tyler?..... How?" She questioned confused.

"I... It was you. Whatever you did, you saved me." He said in a breath of relief.

"But how? I didn't do anything. I couldn't. I'm just a stupid human."She rambled freaked out.

He smiled slightly, pulling her down into a hug. "You are not stupid." He said reassuringly.
