Chapter 3: Wipe That Love-Struck Smile Of Your Face (pt. 1)

Lia's POV:-

"Julian, I think I got committed too fast."

"Why? What did you do now?" he puts down the tequila bottle. It was Friday night, so we decided to get a little drunk.

"Nothing happened. I love Luke and everything, but I didn't do half the things I wanted," I frown at my glass.

"Well do it with him," Julian suggests.

"No, I can't.. How do I explain? Like, I wanted to hook up with a German boy, and now I can't. I wanted to try a threesome. Hell, I once want to experiment with a girl," I whine rubbing my face against the bottle.

"I knew it!" Julian exclaims. "You bitch, I tried to set you up with girls. You could have fulfilled your wish then."

"Then I didn't know, I'll meet someone and fall in love," I say defensively.

"Okay, lemme think," Julian muses. Suddenly he snaps his fingers. "You and Karl hooked up at Derek's birthday right?"

"Yes, but that was so long ago. What's your point?"

"Dumbass, Karl is German," Julian thumps my back. "I remember, cause once his dad came to drop him at school, who by the way is wow. Just wow," he breathes out, his face going red. "Well, I asked Karl about his father, and he told me his parents were German."

"Score for Lia!" I cheer loudly, and take a gulp from the bottle.

"Easy there," Julian reproves. "You won't wanna be drunk, around your boyfriend's mom."

"Oh fuck," I mutter.

Luke could not visit the last three weeks, because his college work had started flowing in at an alarming rate, and he had extra classes at weekends. We talked regularly, and the poor boy was stressed out. Not to mention, that we missed each other bitterly.

Another person missing Luke was, Jane. Obviously. So yesterday she calls me up, and asks if I would like to join her in a road trip to Berkeley. Without a second thought, I said yes.

It's going to be a surprise visit, leaving me bubbling with excitement all day long. I did get an earful from Mr. Foincii for asking a leave unannounced, but at the end he gave in.

My modeling days were going in excellent pace, and I was getting ample of contracts. I was also getting a lot of offers for bikini shoot, which I turned down. It's not that I'm against nudity, or wearing thongs. It's just that, I wasn't comfortable in flashing my tits to a camera.

I would always send Luke, my final pictures. Not all of them, just the ones that I like. Then I would beg him to use one of those as his screensaver, instead of that hideous picture of me snoring on his pillow. But all that, went above his bull-head.

Julian takes the bottle from my hand, and pours some in a coffee mug adding lime and salt.

"Now regarding your need for an org-"

"Threesome," I correct.

"Same thing," he mutters, downing his drink.

"No, it's not. Like Charlie Harper has taught." I count on my fingers, "It goes masturbation, one on one, threesome, two couples swinging, two couples swinging with a Lookie-Lou, orgy.. six."

"Alright Shine Stein," Julian says blankly. "What you need to do is, find a girl who'll agree to this. And coax Luke into it. That way you'll get your triangle, as well as fulfil your homoerotic needs. Two birds with one stone," he finishes triumphantly.

"No," I shake my head. "I can't watch Luke do stuff to another girl. It'll turn into a bloodbath, with me ending up in a circus cage."

"Okay..." Julian says a little irritated. "Find a boy."

"I don't think Luke will follow," I sigh. "He's a little possessive of me."

"You're blushing," Julian points out. "Wipe that love-struck smile of your face. At least he's possessive the normal amount, unlike you. Growling like a dog, at every girl within five feet radius."

"Stop exaggerating," I scold.

"Anyways, I guess we are left with the last option," Julian sighs. I look at him confused. "Animal," he says seriously.

"What?! No, you sick bonehead," I laugh disgusted.

..........................

"Is that a girl?" Jane squints her eyes.

"It must be, otherwise that's a really unflattering chest for a guy," I say wryly, watching Luke talk to a girl.

Our drive was a pleasant one, filled with laughs and jokes. Jane told me childhood stories about Luke. We had a good time, and I managed to make through the journey without uttering any cuss word, except for an occasional 'Oh hell.' Instead of going to Luke's place, Jane drove us to the college as Luke's classes were about to get over.

To our convenience, Luke was just standing in front of the parking space his car keys, circling his fingers. He was talking to a girl, who kept laughing and smirking. She's clearly flirting, because who am I kidding, I've been there and done that. But there was a lingering unsurety in her movements, maybe because of Luke's lack of reaction. He sure does appear cold, and uninterested to everyone. It takes hours of practice and constant leering to make out the expressions from his poker face. Right now I can tell, he's impatient. Like he wants to get away.

Luke takes out his phone, and shows something on it to the girl. She steps a little too close, and looks into his cell.

"Is he cheating on you?"

"Is he cheating on me?"

Jane and I look at each other.

"I'm going to talk to him," my one eye narrowing at the chic, who playfully smacked Luke's shoulder. She's wearing khaki pants and a white frilled shirt.

"No, no. I'm going to talk to him," Jane says firmly. "I did not raise my son, to become a sleazeball. See what happens, when he stays away from his mommy."

"Maybe, we should not jump to conclusions," I say hurriedly, not wanting Jane to terrorize Luke. She shrugs and gets out of the car. We near Luke's back.

"Alright, I'll see you at the restaurant," we hear the girl say.

"Sure," Luke nods. Jane clears her throat, making both of them look at us.

"Mom? Lia?" Luke says stunned. We both simultaneously nod at him, neither of us moving a face muscle. The girl clears her throat, making Luke reluctantly turn to her again.

"I'm going Luke. Don't be late," she playfully smiles at Luke. "It's a date," she winks.

"A what?!" I nearly scream. Luke turns to me panicked, "No no, that's not what it is."

"It's not?" the girl asks confused. Luke turns to her equally confused, "Pam I thought you needed my notebook?"

Boys can be so stupid.

"Yes, but that's a way of asking out," she says, like it's supposed to explain everything.

"I'm sorry, I didn't get that. I already have a girlfriend," Luke says standing next to me, putting a hesitant hand on my back. The girl looks at me, and I give her a mock-salute.

"This is awkward," she laughs nervously. "I'll.. Just go."

"That looked pretty genuine," Jane says at her disappearing form. "Now tell us, why would you cheat on Lia?"

"Mom, I'm not-"

"This was all planned. Wasn't it?" Jane interrupts. "Why would you do something like that Luke? Why? I'm very fond of Lia, and I'm not going to let you hurt her." Her lines were almost on point, but she looses it for a spilt second and her lips twitch. Luke frowns indignantly. "Please don't do that," he grumbles and steps forward to hug her.

"I've missed you sweetheart," Jane sighs hugging him back, and kissing his cheek. Then he steps back, next to me, his hands brushing against me. He doesn't say anything, because I know he was feeling shy. I guess Jane also knew because she excused herself, to call and inform Luther that we've reached safely.

Once we're alone, he finally turns to me, "Hi."

"Hello," I reply, delighting in his nervous shuffling.

"You're not mad, are you?" Luke asks cautiously. I smile, and shake my head no. He relaxes his stance.

"How are you?" he asks, stepping closer.

"I've missed you," I answer. His face stretches into an easy smile.

"Me too darling," he whispers, and pulls me into a hug burying his face into my poncho top. He breathes in a huge lungful, like I was his favorite perfume. My actions mirror his.

He releases me. "This is the best thing, that happened in the last three weeks." His mouth's pressed softly to my forehead.

"I'm pretty sure, it'll get better tonight," I smirk, slipping my hands into the back pocket of his jeans, giving a delicious squeeze. His eyes drop to my mouth, the green rings starting to mingle with black. I lick my lips instinctively.

"Let's take a college tour," Jane says excitedly, reappearing with her handbag. We both step apart, force a smile, nod and start walking.

...............................

"Damn,  that's a huge college. I haven't walked this much in heels, since my wedding reception," Jane says exhausted. I laugh and press the elevator button. The evening was spent in Luke showing us his college. He took us to the cute little coffee shops, down the road. Jane was eager to explore the city. Which meant we roamed around, sightseeing, and clicking pictures. I was in jeans shorts and high-tops, so I was fine, but Jane walked all the way in her heels.

"I'm burned out," Jane yawns reaching her room. Luther had booked two rooms for Jane and me. Jane and I were planning on crashing at Luke's place, but Luther insisted and booked them behind Jane's back. In the car Jane told me, it was all because Luther was feeling guilty, at not being able to cancel his meeting to accompany her.

My room was next to hers. "Same here," I yawn, and stretch.

"Sweetheart, I'll be dead like a fish in two minutes, but don't hesitate to call me if you have any problem. Alright?"

"Yes," I smile. We go into our rooms, and I get busy. I take a shower to wash off the grime from the long day. I quickly get dressed into some fresh athletic shorts and a pale red tshirt. I towel dry my hair, and loosely braid it so I don't feel too hot. I manage to put some lip balm before my phone pings, indicating my cab is here. I put on my socks and high-tops, and quietly slip out of my room.

I've known Luke long enough to know, that he won't be sneaking into my room. I bet he's thinking, "Lia must be drained, and I should let her sleep." Worst comes to worst, he'll call me. That's it. What he doesn't know, is that I am trickling with unused energy that's been sparked up, since I laid my eyes on him. Hence me, jumping around like a deranged crackhead.

 "Wow."

"Is Luke in?" I ask peering inside. Luke's roommate Robert had opened the door.

"But, I'm so much better," he smirks.

I give him a quick once over, from head to foot and taunt, "Really?" His smug look drops, replaced by a pissed look.

"Lia?" Luke appears at the door. "Hi baby," I beam at him.

"I was just going to call you," he says pulling me inside.

"This is your girlfriend?" Robert asks. Luke nods, keeping a hand around my waist.

"Damn.. I thought you were a dorky virgin, no kidding," he confesses, making us both laugh.

"Anyway, it's weekend, and I'm out," he bows, leaving us alone. The door is barely shut, before we jump on each other. I think, I'm walked backwards.

Kissing hits different when your lips' been lonely for three weeks. I feel my back against a wall. It's starting to get a little difficult, from the lack of air but neither of us want to pull back. My lust-wired brain brings up the newspaper headlines, 'Death by kissing too long'. What a way to go..

I make angry noises, when Luke starts to pull back. "Wait baby," he says licking his lips, taking out his phone that was vibrating. So that's what I felt on my hip. I thought my sex drive reached such heights, that my bones started acting like a vibrator.

Sometimes, I'm not surprised at myself.

"Hi Dad," Luke answers his phone. I look at his mouth that I kissed into a wet, red, little heart. I want to feel it all over me, licking me, biting me, but I couldn't do anything. Not when he's talking to his father. That's just repulsive and disrespectful, I think? It's hard to give a damn about morals, when you're this turned on.

Luke gives me an apologetic look that says, this could take a while. I get out from his hold, and walk into the kitchen. Clean, sparkling. I open one cabinet, and see cereal boxes. Luke was saying something like "No, it's fine," when I come out.

I walk towards the balcony. It had a pretty view of the city. There was a wooden couch, and coffee table, with some of Luke's novels scattered over it. A wind chime hung at the back, and some potted plants kept around. I knew this was Jane's doing, because no way either of the boys could put up such a cute balcony, and still make it feel masculine.

Luke was still talking when I walk back inside. I open one door, and immediately close it. It was Robert's bedroom, judging by the messy bed. I go to the next room, and walk in with my imaginary spy goggles. Luke didn't seem to mind my snooping around.

A bed, with blue pillows and cream sheets. Shelf, study table, mirror, the basics. I get a heart-stroke on seeing the size of his books, that were littered with green and yellow post-it notes, winking out from the pages. If I have to study this much for college, I might as well start polishing my stripping skills.

"I know. They told me, the bill will be dealt with later," Luke says into the phone, walking in. He hands me a cup with coffee, and flops down on the bed. I stand there drinking my coffee, analyzing his room like a crime investigator. It felt as though some part of me was in this room. Not in a spooky way.

Like, I spot my black knit sweater folded on the shelf. I gave it to Luke once when he was cold, and my butt didn't warm his hands enough. A tiny plastic model of Bubble, one of the Powerpuff Girls was at his window sill. I remember winning it, at a dart game in carnival. I had jokingly gifted it to Luke, expecting him to throw it away. But here is that lucky bitch, getting to stare at my man all day.

I open his study-table drawer, and find a napkin with my number scribbled on it. I remember slipping it to Luke on a date, pretending to be a different girl. He tried to play along, but ended up laughing, when I said something about ice being Viagra for the nipples.

He had the bookmarks that I made him at a boring school event, from the pamphlets that were handed out. They naughtily peeked out of his novels neatly stacked in a corner, the weird drawings I scratched on them, making me cringe.

My room was also in a similar predicament. My shelf is stuffed with quite many of his sweatshirts, and even one of his jeans, that made the perfect baggy pants for me. His box of mints was still on my nightstand, some of his novels scattered on my study table. Yes, Luke comes with a lot of books. I think, how like a total chic-flick, I would put on his sweatshirt when I felt sad. We both were getting weirdly obsessed with each other.

"Now you're just, making me feel like your dead wife," I say annoyed. Luke was typing something on his phone. He looks at the earring I was holding up. It was carefully balanced over one of his books. I had tossed away it's pair, few days ago.

"It was in one of my bags," he shrugs. I roll my eyes, and keep it back. I rack my brains to come up with anything nice and romantic to say to Luke, but all I come up with is, 'I've missed your tight tushie. Can I squeeze it, and cover you in whipped cream?'

I'm such a disgrace.

"Are you tired?"

Of course he'll ask that.

"Believe me, that's the last thing I'm feeling right now," I inform, pushing him down, and climbing on top of Luke.

"Hey," I smile.

"Hi," he grins back, his hand running down my body.

"I love your room," I tell him.

"That's good, cause I'm not allowing you to leave," he says seriously.

"That's good, cause I'm not leaving," I reply just as seriously, taking off his glasses. He rubs his eyes.

"Baby, you look bushwhacked," I comment, pressing my thumbs under his tired eyes. He smiles at my choice of words.

"It's been a fucked up month," he confesses.

"Is it really so hard? You should give yourself a break," I suggest, brushing back his hair. He tenses under me, his mouth hardens.

"I'm serious Luke," I look into his eyes. "You look stressed. It's unhealthy."

"I can't," he says in difficulty.

"You can't what?" I urge him.

"I can't afford to take a break," he gulps.

"Luke you're overdoing it. I know you must be studying extra, because I saw the chaps in your college. They look normal. Not stressed and ready to burst into tears like you. You are nearing a nervous breakdown," I point out. Luke says nothing for a whole minute.

"I'm.. scared Lia," he whispers so softly, that I doubt if I even heard it right. "Of what baby?" I brush my fingertips across his cheek.

"Of failing," he admits, closing his eyes. "I can't fail and go in front of my parents. I can't," he shakes his head. "They'll never let me live it down. Everywhere I go, they'll remind me, how I was stubborn, and didn't study business that naturally runs through my veins."

"Luke you'll be fine. Seriously. You are smart, dedicated, hard-working, and you are serious. I bet your dream company will hire you, by just a glance at your resumé. They won't even interview you."

A smile edges the corner of his mouth, "Your faith in me is staggering."

"It's the justified amount love," I mumble.

"You're my personal ray of sunshine," he grins holding me close. It was a little ironic considering it's stark dark outside.

"Thank you," I say politely, and roll off him.

"No," Luke protests. "Get back here. Why did you go?" He's really annoyed. I get comfortable beside him.

"I know I'm heavy," I state. "And you took my weight, long enough."

"Hey, I can take it longer. I am strong," he asserts. "My muscles can handle it."

"These muscles," I poke his arm.

"Agreed, they are not in their finest moments, cause I haven't been going to gym at all. But still, I am strong," he mutters sourly, making me laugh. "You stupid boy," I breathe, turning to kiss him.

"Okay wait," he says the moment our kiss turns hungrier. "I still need to take my shower. I reek."

"I don't mind, nor do I care. Besides," I take a sniff. "You smell fine."

"Lia, you know this," he stops me. "I can't function properly if I'm not clean."

"You don't need to function," I say climbing on him. "You just have to make some expressions, and sounds, so that I don't feel like a necrophile. Rest, I got it."

Luke puts a hand over his eyes, laughing. He sits up, and we are nose-to-nose. "Join me."

My face alters into a pout, "I just had a shower. If you had given me a brief notice, I wouldn't have bothered, and we could have lathered each other in soap, to our hearts content." Luke squirms under me, swallowing tersely.

"Just give me five minutes," Luke promises with a kiss, and sets me down on the bed. Just as he was about to go, I grab his collar and pull him down. The cavewoman inside me, is smirking in pride at Luke's startled face.

"Make it three." It comes out as a threat. Luke bites back a smile and nods.

I put my phone to charge, and settle down among the pillows, waiting.

"Are you done?" I shout at the bathroom, after a moment.

"I haven't even started." I hear his dry reply. I sigh, put one more pillow around me.

My eyes open, when a thin blanket covers my shoulders. "Luke," I mumble sleepily.

"Baby go to sleep. You are tired. You had a long day," he firmly presses down my shoulder, when I try to get up. I give up, cause he's right. I can barely keep my eyes open. I made the mistake of visiting the Land of Sleep, now there's no coming back for me.

I lie on my side and watch from thin slits. Luke switches off the light and leaves the room. Sometime later, I feel the bed dip behind me, and a warm, good-smelling body around my shoulders. There's a familiar weight, of a heavy arm on my waist.

"Could you undo my bra strap?" I yawn. Luke puts his hands inside my top, and complies. I turn to lie on my back, and mechanically slip out the bra straps off my shoulder and arm, tossing away the wired cloth mesh. Once feeling a lot more unconfined, I turn to Luke.

"Lia."

"Mhmm." I don't bother opening my eyes.

"Is it an inappropriate time to tell you, that I found your actions candidly arousing."

"No, its not," I mumble. "But you lost your chance, when I was fighting off sleep. Now I can't help you, except for maybe this," I roll my hips against his hard-on. Luke groans lowly, and I smile satisfied.

"Good night," I press closer to Luke.

"Night," he heaves a shuddery breath, stroking my waist.

And that's how I slept the night, with a granite snake pressed to my stomach.

Thank you.
