Chapter 5-The Outing
Olivia Ford's POV
Ugh who the heck was pounding at the door this early in the morning? Maybe if I went back to sleep, whoever the idiot was would get the hint and go away. I dove deeper into my bed covers and shut my eyes.
Knock knock knock.
Okay! That's it! If it is Nate, I will severe his head off. I ran my fingers through my hair and pulled the door open and yelled, "What?!"
"I should have known that you're not a morning person sweetheart." His lazy voice drawled out. I looked up to see Drake leaning on my doorframe smirking. God he looked hot. His dark black hair was ruffled and he looked extremely hot in a plain white v-neck shirt that showed his abs. I looked at his face to see him smirking. Shit! He caught me checking him out! "What do you want? It's only around eight."
He shrugged casually and shoved his hands into his pockets, "You told me that you can give me a tour of the house. I didn't peg you for the wearing white-oversized shirts to sleep though. But I have to admit, you look like a hot mess."
I looked down at myself and cringed. Great. I sighed, "Just shut up and wipe that look off your face! I'll give you that damn tour in a moment. Just go first." With that I shut the door. Even though my door was closed, I could hear him laugh loudly. Why did he have to be so good looking and be such a jerk?
Once I was done with my shower, I slipped on some clothes and put on some lip gloss before heading down to the dining room for breakfast. Nate immediately glanced up and did a double take, "Woah, you're up early." I rolled my eyes and replied, "Haha. Very funny."
I took a seat away from him and sat beside Penny. At that moment, Drake came down and roamed his eyes all over the seats until he saw me. He smirked and headed towards me. "Good morning sweetheart." I felt shivers crawl up my spine when he called me 'sweetheart'. Damn I was practically melting into my seat. "It was a good morning before you woke me up."
Drake laughed, "That's what you think. Though I know you're happy to see me here." I faked a smile and turned away from him, "Livvy, can I have ice cream? Mommy says no, but I want some." I smiled at my niece and shook my head, "Sorry Penny. Your mom would have my head if I did." Penny pouted and munched onto her cereal. "I didn't know you were great with kids."
"I'm not that good with them." I said while patting Penny affectionately. I turned back to Drake and he had a strange look on his face, he closed his eyes and a smirk appeared on his face, "Anyway, since you're my tour guide, I want you to follow me back to my house to get my stuff." I pursed my lips, "What makes you think I'll go with you?"
"Firstly, because I don't have my car here. It's back home. Secondly, Kale can't accompany me because he has to help plan the wedding and stuff. So therefore, you're driving me back to my house." He shot me a devilish grin.
"Fine. Whatever, you better be ready in ten minutes." I gave in and buttered my toast.
***
"You drive too slow!" I gritted my teeth and clenched my fingers around the steering wheel. "Okay! Fine!" I pressed my foot on the gas pedal. "No! Not too fast! You're gonna crash!" I sped faster and parked the car. "Here! Drive the car. I refuse to drive it when you're bossing me around on how to drive."
I fumed at Drake who merely blinked before shrugging, "Okay. Lets switch seats." I balked at the audacity of him. He was so infuriating! I glared at him and got out of the car and adjusted my skirt and slipped into the passenger seat.
His eyes roamed my legs appreciatively before he started the car. "This is the same speed I was going before you yelled at me!" I hissed at him. Drake smirked and laughed, "I know, I just wanted to drive your car." I shut my eyes and bit my lip to prevent me from exploding at Drake. I glanced at him to see him smirking smugly at me while driving.
My eyes trailed to his hands that were gripping the steering wheel to his forearm where his white t-shirt clung to his biceps like second skin and where the black tattoo was. Normally, I would find men with tattoos gross considering the image that would come up was fiftyish men who would ride motorcycles and had really weird tattoos and beer bellies. But for Drake, I found it incredibly sexy.
I mentally slapped myself, what the heck was wrong with me? I can't just go around ogling his tattoos. I hurriedly glanced away while biting my lip. "See something you like sweetheart?" I flushed and glanced at him, "No. And stop calling me that."
"Calling you what? Sweetheart?"
"Yes that." Drake parked the car outside a penthouse. He got out of the car and held out the door for me. "You don't seem like the type to have the chivalry gene." I muttered as I got out. Drake snorted and shot me a smirk, "I do have it, I just want to show it off to you." Drake led me into his home and I marvelled at the interior design of the house. "Feel free to sit around while I pack my things and have a shower. Unless you want to join me. My shower is big enough for two."
I shook my head vigorously, "No thank you." I slid onto the couch and Drake shrugged, "Your loss not mine." I rolled my eyes and looked through some of his magazines he had lying on his sofa. Obviously, I avoided touching the playboy copy he had.
Bored, I wandered around his living room. I spotted a picture frame and picked it up. There was a smiling woman with two boys, the woman was pretty but as a girl-next-door kind of pretty. I guessed she must be Kale's and Drake's mother. "She's pretty isn't she?" I jumped and turned around, my hand still holding onto the picture. Drake murmured to me with a soft look in his eyes. "Yeah. She's your mom?"
Drake nodded. "Where's your dad?" I asked curiously and I wished I hadn't. Drake's eyes hardened and his mouth was set into a thin line. "Somewere. Anyway, I'm done packing. Wanna have lunch?" I blinked, confused by the sudden change of topic. "Yeah sure." Drake grinned, "So it's a date?" I rolled my eyes, "No. It's not. I would never want to date you."
Drake raised his eyebrow, "You wouldn't want to date all of this?" His right hand swept down from his head all the way to his torso. I tried not to look and snapped, "No I wouldn't! I've seen better." I crossed my arms and turned away. "Right. Sure, you can believe that love. But both of us know better." He flashed me a smirk and walked off. Ha! Some chivalry act! If he really wanted to be chivalrous, he would have waited for me instead of walking out by himself.
"So where are we eating?" I asked as we drove to the fancier parts of Chicago. Drake glanced at me teasingly, "Well, for our date, I'm taking you to a French restaurant around the corner. You do like French food right?" I frowned, French? How the heck does he know I like French food? I narrowed my eyes, "First, we're not on a date, second, how the heck do you know I like French food? Wait, I mean, who told you that?"
Drake blinked innocently at me before smiling, "A little unicorn told me when I was dreaming." I snorted and laughed, "Haha very funny. No seriously who told you?" Drake grinned, "Wouldn't you like to know? Anyway we're here." I turned around and saw that we were at my favorite restaurant. Again, Drake held the door open for me and I was glad I was appropriately dressed. The manager greeted me, "Oh! Glad to see you again Ms Ford. The usual?" I nodded. "Woah impressive. A step into this place and the manager knows you by name."
I narrowed my eyes before shrugging, "My brothers like to bring me here to eat with them. One of the perks of being wealthy I guess." I mumbled Drake frowned as he caught onto my tone as he led me to a table. "I see. Being rich isn't that important to you isn't it?"
I rolled my eyes back tears and nodded, "I'm sorry for bringing the mood down. Anyway you're right."
"You don't have to explain yourself. Anyway, did Ellie tell you when the wedding will be?" Drake asked as his eyes scanned through the menu. His jean clad thighs bumped against mine occasionally sending little sparks of desire running through me. I bit my lip and discreetly moved my leg away.
"Uh, around winter. Ellie said she wanted a Christmas Wedding even though I told her it was going to be cold." Drake sputtered, "November?! That's like in five months! I'll be staying at your house for five months!"
I raised my eyebrows, "I didn't know staying with my family and I is that terrible." Drake blinked, "Well, your brothers can be intimidating. Not that they scare me or anything." I rolled my eyes and felt a tiny smile on my mouth. "Liv?"
I turned around to see him.
Ryan Grange
Holy hell.
"What the heck do you want Grange?" I spoke coldly and turned away from him. "Aw come on Liv, don't I get a nice welcome?" I clenched my fist and frowned angrily at him, "No! Go away Grnage, I told you clearly the last time that I wanted nothing to do with you anymore. Go away."
Ryan's eyes narrowed and his jaw clenched. His eyes twitched before smirking dangerously, "That's what you think Liv." I held back tears again as the memories that I kept locked in my head rushed through my mind again. "Just go away Grange. I don't want to see you." Ryan smirked, "I don't think so Livvy."
Drake narrowed his eyes and said forcefully, "I think you should leave now. Your presence at this restaurant is not wanted."
I peered up under my eyelashes to see Drake glaring at Ryan. "Is that your boyfriend? Are you sure he isn't using you for your money like I did?" I glanced up horrified to see Drake threatening to punch Ryan. I knew I was supposed to stop Drake from creating a scene but I couldn't help enjoy the fact that Ryan had a slightly scared look on his face. "Shut the fuck up, one more word, I will call all her brothers and her dad to join me as we pummel into you. You got that?"
Ryan nodded and Drake let go of him and I watched as Ryan practically ran out of the restaurant. I remained silent in my seat with my head bowed down. I could feel his gaze burning into me. "You dated him? And you don't even want to consider me as a date. I feel pretty insulted." I gave Drake a flat look and picked at my food, my appetite gone. "Aren't you going to say anything?"
"Nope it's not any of my business. If you want to tell me, you can but I won't push you." Drake said nonchalantly as he shoved his food into his mouth. I nodded slowly and chewed my food slowly. "Thanks for not prying. Just don't mention this in front of my dad and brothers. Please?"
I begged, already imagining the explosion that would take in the house if my dad or brothers knew. Drake eyed me and nodded, "Okay fine. No problem." His blue eyes eyed me cautiously in case I would break down in tears or something. "Stop staring." I muttured, feeling embarrassed by the intensity of his gaze. I could already feel a blush gathering on my cheeks. And I, Olivia Camilla Ford never blush. And this jerk in front of me is making me do that!
I chewed on my lower lip and glanced up from my meal to see Drake glancing at my lips before looking away. "Don't you think we should go now? My brothers may suspect something. And my bodyguard is getting kinda bored." I pointed to Dan who was standing a table away from us yawning.
Dan was my bodyguard since I was nine. He used to be a professional wrestler and had a don't-mess-with-me look, hence why my dad got him to be my bodyguard seeing as I was the most handful one out of all my sisters.
Drake smirked, "Sure. Though your brothers won't suspect a single thing. They know very well that I don't date. I'm a player and I enjoy it. So don't get your hopes up love." He winked and stretched and rested his head on his hands as he leant onto the chair. I nodded, feeling relieved,
"Right. I don't want to date you! You're too annoying and egoistic. And a jerk." Drake shrugged nonchalantly and grinned and led me out of the restaurant with Dan following behind us.
On the way back home and even though I know I should be relieved, I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed.
