~Chapter 4~
Tommy sat on the ground in front of the fireplace, Technoblade behind him fixing his horrible stitch work. It was quiet, Technoblade quietly saying sorry every time the younger brother winced from the pain. Technoblade had agreed to join Tommy, and for the blond, that was a huge win.
Technoblade was the best fighter on the server, other than…. Well, Dream. But if Tommy’s plan went the way he wanted, then Dream wouldn’t be much of a problem soon. Tommy couldn’t help but smile at the thought of Dream being gone, the teen never having to worry about that monster again. And he’d be the one responsible for Dream’s disappearance, which made him all the happier. Finally, Techno stood up, grabbing the first aid kit as he did so.
“Well, I fixed it. Your wounds shouldn’t get infected now, and hopefully, you won't look like you're in pain every time you move.” Tommy smiled, slipping his shirt and cardigan pack on once the piglin hybrid started walking away. Technoblade stopped at the kitchen entrance though, not looking back towards his little brother before speaking once again. “Have you eaten today?” Tommy paused, brows creasing together at the question.
He hadn’t eaten in a very long time, actually. He hadn’t been able to rest much since he left exile, too scared if he did Dream would find him. He didn’t want to be defenseless if he did show up, for this reason, he hadn’t slept and had been getting ready for an attack that he wasn’t even sure would happen.
He looked back towards Technoblade, who now was looking back towards him with a raised brow, still waiting for an answer. Tommy quickly snapped out of his thinking, giving an apologetic smile before shaking his head no.
“Nope, haven’t been able to really sit down and eat since I escaped exile.” Technoblade hummed, turning his head back around to start walking back into the kitchen.
“I’ll make you something to eat real quick then, but then it’s time for bed.” Tommy followed Technoblade into the kitchen, watching as the man grabbed a pan from the cupboard above the stove, before turning to the fridge. Tommy walked over to the kitchen table, sitting down with a sigh. He didn’t know how long he’d stay here, maybe just for tonight until morning, and then he could leave for Pogtopia again.
He had planned to stay there, and even if things between the brothers seemed ok right now he knew that eventually it would become awkward and Tommy, much like Technoblade, hated being in those types of situations. So it would be best that they kept their distance, at least for now. A plate of food was slapped in front of the daydreaming Tommy, whose blue eyes looked up towards Technoblade’s own confused pair.
“Uh, thanks.” The avian smiled before looking back towards the food. It was some chicken and mashed potatoes, gravy covering both the chicken and potatoes. How long was Tommy daydreaming for?
“You’re welcome, Tommy.” Techno started. “I’m heading to bed, but when you’re done there’s a bedroom upstairs on the right for you to use.” Tommy nodded, grabbing the fork to eat the steaming food before him. “If you need anything… you can wake me up.”
With that, the piglin hybrid was walking out of the dining table, and for once Tommy didn’t make fun of the older brother for his soft attitude towards him. Maybe he just didn’t have the energy to poke fun at the piglin, or maybe he wanted to keep his head. He guessed only XD would know the real answer.
That Morning. . .
When Tommy’s eyes fluttered open, he really wished he could go back to sleep. He brought the covers over his head with the blanket, hoping that that’ll chase the sun’s rays away. He hadn’t slept in so long, it was nice to finally fall asleep and rest. He didn’t have Dream to worry about, he was safe here in this house. Why would Dream dare to enter the warrior's house?
By some ironic coincidence, his bedroom door slowly creaked open, making the blond stiffen. His eyes shot open, but his body laid still. Has Dream found him? Was that Dream sneaking up on him ready to finish what he began? A hand settled onto his shoulder, and Tommy quickly jolted into a sitting position, eyes wide as the blanket fell from his head and onto his lap.
He stared at a very concerned Techno, who only frowned back at him. “Tommy? Are you ok?” He pulled his hand away from the teen. Tommy stopped his uneven breathing, quickly calming himself down before answering.
“Yeah… I’m ok.” Technoblade sighed, making his way to the bedroom door.
“Well, breakfast is ready.” With that the piglin hybrid left, leaving the avian alone once again. Tommy sighed, bringing his legs closer to himself as he fully calmed down. He’d eat breakfast and then he’d be on his way back to Pogtopia. Standing up he grabbed his blue cardigan, slipped the piece of clothing on, and made his way out of the bedroom and down the ladder to the kitchen.
He saw Technoblade standing at the window, a cup of coffee in his hand as he stared out, bringing the mug up to his lips to take a sip quietly. Tommy looked towards the kitchen table, noticing an untouched plate sitting ready to be eaten. A huge omelet sat on the plate, a cup of orange juice next to it. “I didn’t know if you’d like coffee.” Tommy looked towards Techno, who now stared back with calm eyes.
“Oh- no I never really liked coffee.” An understanding hum came from the older brother, along with another long sip of his coffee as he went back to staring out the window. Tommy sat down at the table, already digging into the food Techno had prepared for him. He hadn’t eaten this good since before his first exile when he still had Wilbur… Tommy’s eyes clouded thinking about his brother. It was Technoblade speaking again that knocked him out of his thoughts.
“So, this plan of yours.” Tommy looked over. “What do you need me to do?” At his question, he started to ponder.
“I’m digging under L’manburg and planting TNT. Maybe, on the day we strike… we could do a above attack too?” Technoblade looked over, his own eyes thinking.
“You want to…. Make TNT rain from above onto L'manburg?” Tommy slowly nodded, smiling at the thought. Techno shrugged, brows creased together as he stared out into the morning. “Maybe we should see if dad wants to help, he’s good at building things- way better than us. He’d be good help.” Tommy hadn’t thought of his father in a few days, but he usually tried to rid himself of any memories of the man he once strived to be. Thinking of seeing the other blond's face made him sick, but at the same time, Techno was right. Phil was a good builder, he’d be able to build something like a death machine from the sky.
“Yeah, I think you’re right.” Techno nodded.
“Then I’ll tell dad the plan, and then we can start the actual planning.” Tommy nodded, going back to eating. And the silence engulfed the two brothers once again. Once Tommy finished he stood up, catching the older brother's attention.
“I’m heading back to Pogtopia, when it’s time to plan send a letter.” Tommy smiled as he spoke. Technoblade frowned, walking over to one of the counters to set his mug down.
“You're not staying?” The teen shook his head no.
“Thank you for letting me stay for the night, I appreciate it.” Technoblade frowned.
“Sure, I’ll keep in touch.” Tommy nods, turning around to leave. “Tommy.” Blue eyes met blue. “Be safe, yeah?” Tommy smiles at the olders words.
“Yeah, I’ll be safe.” With that, Tommy left for Pogtopia again, one step closer to the destruction of L’manburg.
