You're now at the library, trying to get an architecture project done for your class tomorrow. You've already chugged two coffees and are now frustrated as you struggle to finish it.
Everything's already been drawn and designed. However, you're missing one component to your building design that the professor had told you to add in. The design you had drawn is a design you're already content with but you know you'll fail just by handing this in.
Running your fingers through your hair, you let out a frustrated sigh before taking a sip of your water bottle. You close your eyes for a second to try to picture a way to add this requirement into the design.
Deciding to take a break, you take your laptop out of your bag. Signing into your YouTube account, you start looking for a video that will take your mind off of the assignment.
After choosing a video, you pause it and begin searching your bag for your headphones.
"Um... excuse me?" you hear, causing you to look up and see your ex-boyfriend. Both of you widen your eyes immediately before he speaks up again. "Oh, Y/N, I didn't even recognize you for a second there. You look... really good." He states before smiling down at you.
You hadn't seen Alex since you two broke up in high school. You two knew you'd be going to the same university but decided to break up so you can both have a full college experience.
Despite you two being in a serious relationship, you both knew you made the right decision. If it weren't for you two breaking up before college, you know you both would've resented each other for missing out on the college dating scene. Due to your good judgment, now you're both on good terms and you're not rushing to leave the library right now.
You smile up at him and close your laptop to look up at him.
"Hey Alex." You state. "You look good too." You respond. He grins before gesturing towards the chair near you.
"I was just about to ask if I could borrow that chair for my friend over there," he says while gesturing back to his table. "But now that I'm here, how have you been?" he questions.
"Good! I've been good. How about you?" you ask.
"I've been great." He states before biting down onto his lower lip as he stares over at you. "Hey, um, I know this is a little weird but... would you like to get dinner sometime and catch up?" he questions. You lift your eyebrows before nodding your head.
"Oh! Yeah, I'd love to catch up over some food." You state.
"Do you have a new number or is it the same as before?" he questions. You immediately grab a piece of paper and start writing your new number.
"It changed after high school once I got onto my own phone plan. My parents wanted me to pay my own phone bill while in uni." You state before handing him the piece of paper with your new phone number on it. He nods his head as he takes the paper.
"Ah, yeah. How are your parents doing, speaking of them?"
"They're good!" You state. "Always ask how you're doing because they know you also go here." You laugh softly. He nods his head and smiles.
"Yeah, I miss your mom's cooking." He responds, causing both of you to laugh. "Well, that, and you." You smile up at him, feeling some butterflies in your stomach as he says this.
"It's always funny when they ask about you because I've rarely seen you around." You state. "It's crazy how secluded architecture majors are from other majors." He nods his head before gesturing towards your project.
"Speaking of your major, is that your design?" he questions. You nod.
"Yeah, I'm almost done. Just need to add something to meet this last requirement. I don't really know what to add though because I'm content with it." You state. He tilts his head to the side before speaking.
"Well, I don't know much about architecture but if you need to meet a last requirement, maybe you could add a half bathroom and design it just to meet that last requirement." He states while pointing towards one of the areas of the design where you don't have a bathroom. You tilt your head to the side before nodding your head.
"You're a genius!" you state before immediately taking note of that. "Thanks, Alex. I didn't even think about just adding a half bathroom." You smile up at him. He grins before nodding his head.
"Any time." He states before glancing back at his friends. "Well, I have to get back to studying. I'll text you later about that date." You nod as he says this before giving him one last smile and wave. He smiles down at you before stepping towards one of the extra chairs, taking it from the table. You watch as he walks away before smiling softly to yourself as you think about your previous relationship with him.
This might be the person you can take to this party.

You're now getting ready for your date with Alex.
Deciding to dress in a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a hoodie, you put on some light makeup to accentuate your favorite features on your face. You stare at yourself in the mirror before nodding your head.
This is the first date in a while that you've felt excited about. The rest gave you a bad gut feeling but this one? This one is a date where you already know the guy and don't have to worry about the first-date problems. You'd been on probably hundreds of dates with him before.
Making your way out of your bathroom, you grab your purse and make your way towards the drop-off area of campus. Once you get there, you see other groups of people waiting for their Ubers and taxis as well. Sighing, you scan the different license plates before finding your Uber, verifying their name, and heading off to the diner you two agreed to meet at.
Once there, you immediately place your drink order and wait for Alex to show up.
Finding an empty table, you sit down and look around before sending him a quick text, letting him know that you've saved a table already.
You then start taking small sips of your drink, looking around the diner as you admire the scenery of it. It's a vintage, old-fashioned diner. The waiters and waitresses are all dressed in outfits similar to those in the movie 'Grease.' There are vintage records hanging from the wall and there's a jukebox in the corner of the room. They also have black-and-white photographs of the celebrities who have eaten here hanging by the jukebox.
Ten minutes pass and you're now glancing at your phone to check if Alex is running late.
You decide to brush it off and decide to scroll through some apps on your phone.
Twenty minutes pass by and you're now approached by a waitress.
"Hi, love." She states. "Are you ready to place an order?" she questions. You glance over at the entrance of the diner before shaking your head.
"Hi, no, not yet. I'm still waiting for my date to get here." You state. She nods her head, giving a friendly smile.
"Okay, just feel free to call me over here when they get here. I'm Karina." She states. You nod and smile up at her.
"Okay, thank you." She nods and walks away, catering to another one of her tables.
It's now been thirty minutes later and your first instinct is that something's wrong. You start wondering if he got into an accident or an emergency came up. You bite onto your lower lip before checking your texts again.
Nothing from him.
You then go onto social media and look at his profile to see if he's posted anything.
Nothing.
Sighing, you go to his friend's profile and find that there's something there: Alex at a strip club with his guy friends. He's drunk as he stares into the camera.
In the video, he starts speaking.
"How stupid is she?" he laughs while speaking. "My ex really thought I'd meet with her? I mean, yeah, she looks really good but I'm not trying to get into that shit again." He laughs, causing your shoulders to slump and your chest to get a sinking feeling.
You clench your jaw before leaning back in your seat.
"Why commit to her when you could fuck other girls?" his friend says from behind the camera.
You immediately exit out of the app and inhale a deep breath before reaching your hands up to your face, covering it. After a few seconds, you look up and see Karina heading to the next table over where a group of six guys is sitting.
"Um, excuse me, Karina?" you ask. She glances over at you before making her way towards you.
"Yes?" she asks.
"Would you be able to get me a strawberry milkshake to-go? And a side of fries?" you ask. She takes out her notepad, writing it down before nodding. She then makes her way towards the other table.
She gives the six guys their check and they all go to the front to pay.
Well, five of them do.
One stays behind to look at your booth.
"I knew that voice was familiar." You hear Taehyung. You look up at him in shock.
"Again?" you ask. "Are you sure you're not following me?" you question. He lets out a soft laugh, shaking his head.
"My friend Hoseok actually picked this place tonight, so blame him for the coincidence." He laughs, nodding his head towards the five men by the front. He then points down at the booth. "Mind if I sit?"
"Uh, I wouldn't get too comfortable. I'm leaving soon." You state before sighing.
"Another bad date?"
"He'd have to show up for it to be considered a date." You state. This causes him to visibly flinch. Karina then approaches with the milkshake and fries in a plastic bag.
"Here's your food, love. Anything else you'd like?" She says while placing it onto the table in front of you. You shake your head. "Okay. You can pay up at the front. Have a good night." She states.
"You too." You respond before getting out of the booth, standing up before grabbing the bag. Karina walks away and you look over at Taehyung. "Well, I'm going to drown out my misery with this unhealthy food. I'll see you around." You state.
He watches as you start to walk away before following behind you. His five friends gesture for him to go with them and he shakes his head, pointing towards you. Yoongi looks in your direction before softly smirking and nodding his head.
Taehyung follows closely behind you as you pay before you go to the exit. Walking out with you, he speaks up.
"Y/N!" He says, causing you to turn around.
"What, Taehyung?" you question. "I don't want to keep bugging you with these stupid problems, alright? I already look pathetic enough to you and I refuse to continue making you feel bad for me." you state. This causes him to grow quiet for a second.
After a few seconds, he steps closer to you before speaking.
"C'mon." he says while nodding his head towards the direction of the street. You look at where he's gesturing. "You don't look pathetic to me and you're not bugging me with your problems. Let me give you a ride so you can at least get somewhere where you can get an Uber quickly or a friend to pick you up and take you home. Then, you can be alone, alright?"
Low and behold, once you look in that direction, you see the one motorcycle bike that you had been judging since the moment you saw it.
You look back at Taehyung and see him arching his eyebrow while staring over at you.
After a few seconds of contemplating, you let out a soft sigh and nod your head. You begin walking towards his bike and he immediately begins walking next to you towards it.
You two arrive at his bike and he slips his helmet on before handing you his. Straddling the bike, he places both hands on the handles while watching as you put the helmet on.
"So, where can I take you so you can get home safely?" he asks. You let out a soft sigh before shrugging.
"I guess the coffee shop we always go to." You respond. He glances back at you as you start getting onto his bike, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Already in the mood to find another bad date?" he jokes. You roll your eyes before tightening the strap of the helmet around your chin.
"Ha ha. Very funny, joke guy." You respond before shaking your head. "My friends are hanging out there right now."
"Ah, okay." He responds before he starts to turn on the engine of the bike. "You might want to hold onto my waist while we drive. It can be a little intense the first time you get on one of these." He states.
You narrow your eyes at the man. He looks back at you and rolls his eyes.
"Just do it." He orders.
"Fine." You huff out before wrapping your arms loosely around his waist. He starts driving and you're mentally disagreeing with what Taehyung had just said about it being intense.

HAPPY SEOKJIN DAY!!!!!
It's his birthday today. I still can't believe how every single year I think that there's no way these men could become even more perfect yet here we are. He has shown how much of a good person he is and always expresses his love for ARMY. I'm so proud of him for everything he's accomplished and I'm so proud of him for stepping up to join the military before the government even made a decision on whether he had to go.
I hope he has the best birthday and I cannot wait to see what else is coming up for him when he gets back.
I hope you all are okay and healthy. I purple you.
Kim 💜
