You're now back at home in the family home you grew up in. In your room, you continue to unpack your boxes. Sighing, you lean over to your bed and grab a handful of the chips in the bowl on your bed.
"Still not done unpacking." You mumble to yourself before glancing at the clock.
You have about an hour until your date with Taehyung. You bite onto your lower lip before shaking your head.
"You almost done unpacking? I started making your favorite dish for dinner." Your mom's voice echoes from your door. Shaking your head, you glance over at the door and see her smiling over at you.
"Not yet mom. I still have a few boxes left." You say before sighing.
"That's alright, you can take a break to eat first." She responds. You immediately shake your head.
"Thanks for cooking for me mom but I have to start getting ready for a date." You respond before instantly biting onto the tip of your tongue, regretting that you pointed anything out about a date.
"A date?" your mother's eyes sparkle with curiosity and intrigue. The tone in her voice rises, indicating that she's surprised.
"Yes, mother, a date." You respond before sighing and looking down at your remaining boxes that need to be unpacked.
"Well, who are you going on a date with?" she questions. You grin before shaking your head.
"It's relatively new. Don't worry about it."
"But if my daughter likes someone enough to mention it to me, you know it's at least starting to get serious." She responds. "C'mon, give me some details." You merely roll your eyes before looking down at the boxes once more.
You really do have to get ready. Without an outfit picked, a hairstyle in mind, nor an idea for your date, you already know this is going to be time-consuming. Your mother pestering you the whole time would not make that task any easier.
Deciding to use your mother's need to stick her nose into other people's business to your advantage, you quickly put together an excuse.
"Well, see, I'd share a few details but I really don't have time for that. I have to get ready. I don't even know what to wear, I don't know where we're going, and I still have to unpack all of these boxes." You state while gesturing down at the boxes. Your mother's eyes dart from your face to your boxes before darting back to your face.
After a few seconds of thinking, a wide smile plasters itself onto her face.
"I'll unpack for you. Start getting ready and then you can share all about the date when you get back. How's that sound?" she eagerly says.
You internally smirk. On the outside, however, you put on a face of shock.
"Mom, I couldn't ask for that. That's way too much-"
"No! I insist." She says. "I just want to make sure that this person is good enough for my daughter. If unpacking for you will make it easier for you to find time to share with me later, I'll do it." You give your mother a smile and nod your head.
"I mean... if you insist." You say before shrugging your shoulders.
"Now, go get ready!" she says while picking up a shirt that you left on your bed, smacking you in the arm with it. She urges you to leave the room to go to the bathroom and you comply, smiling to yourself on the way out.

You're now finishing getting dressed as you look down at your bedroom floor, seeing the boxes completely gone. Smirking to yourself, you roll your eyes, already knowing that you're going to give your mother the bare minimum of a description for Taehyung.
Handsome, dark hair, works for an advertising agency.
And if she asks where you met? You're just going to say at a restaurant, which isn't a complete lie, but is definitely an oversimplification of the circumstances upon which you two met.
You hear your phone beep and glance down at it before seeing the contact name appearing on your phone.
Bad Date Bodyguard: I'm outside.
Y/N: Be there in a sec.
You then take one last look at yourself in the mirror before smiling and nodding your head. Stepping out of your bedroom, you adjust the hem of your shirt and grab your purse.
"Oh! You look cute!" your mother states from the living room as you walk past it. Looking over in her direction, you give her a grin.
"Well, I'm off to go meet him." You say before eyeing the door. "I'll text you when I'm on my way back from the date." She nods her head before she starts to get up from her seat on the couch.
"Oh, wait, don't I get to see who you're going out with?" she questions. You widen your eyes, immediately regretting to agree to sharing some details on Taehyung.
"N-no mom, I told you it's still new." You respond. "I don't want to freak him out because I already know you'll bring up those marriage jokes right away." You say while giving her a look. She holds her hands up.
"I won't make any marriage jokes!" she immediately grows defensive. "I'll just say hello."
"No, mom. This guy is just starting to date again recently and the last thing I want to do is make him regret joining it again." You say while furrowing your eyebrows at her.
"Aish, okay." She rolls her eyes before sitting back down onto the couch. You let out a sigh of relief before looking over at her.
"I also just don't want you getting your hopes up. Every guy's been a let down so far... but I have a good feeling about this one. I just don't want to jinx it by introducing you too soon." You reason, causing her to nod her head. You smile softly before making your way towards the door. You exit the house and hear the immediate sound of his engine already running.
When you look up, you see Taehyung wearing a pair of beige slacks with a black t-shirt. He's sitting on his bike with his helmet at his side.
You can't help but take a few seconds to just drink in the sight of him.
He always looks so effortlessly handsome. The aura he gives off is so sexy.
After a few seconds of staring at him, you take a few steps towards him.
Hearing the bottom of your shoes on the concrete, he looks up before a smile finds its way on his face.
"Ah, I was just about to go ring the doorbell." He says. "Everything okay?" You nod before he hands you your helmet.
"Yeah, everything's fine. Just had to fight off my nosy mother." You state while rolling your eyes before putting your helmet onto your head. Taking one step onto the other side of his bike, you straddle it while you finish putting your helmet on. He then lets out a soft laugh.
"Oh, yeah? Should I still go up to the door to say hello?" he questions. You immediately shake your head.
"Oh, if you did, I'd strangle you." You respond while shaking your head. He lets out a soft laugh.
"What, embarrassed of me?" This causes you to raise your eyebrows.
"Not you, her." You say before pointing towards the window. At the window, you see a blind lifted with your mother's face pressed up against the window, her eye directed at you and Taehyung. Taehyung looks over before letting out a soft laugh.
"Cute." He says before he waves at her, causing her to shut the blinds as she realizes she got caught.
As Taehyung continues to laugh, you roll your eyes and slap his shoulder lightly.
"Hey, stop laughing at my mom, we have a date to get to." You order. This causes him to raise an eyebrow before turning his head to look back at you.
"Oh, someone's in a hurry to be romantic." He states. "Where are we headed off to for this date anyway?" he questions.
"Well, that depends, are you hungry?" you question. He shrugs his shoulders.
"A little but not starving." He states. "I'm down to do something then eat afterwards."
"I was thinking... what if we went to play some laser tag?"
"Laser tag?" he questions, voice sounding already like a little kid being told they could eat dessert for dinner. You nod and bite onto your lower lip. "You trying to get your ass kicked or something?"
"No, if I was, I would've invited your golden maknae friend." You state, causing Taehyung to laugh. "But I invited you, so clearly I think I have a shot at winning." This causes him to shake his head.
"Okay, if you're so confident... how about this: whoever wins pays for dinner."
"Deal."
"And other person gets to choose where we're eating." He adds, causing you to shrug your shoulders before you smile widely.
"Okay, hope you have enough on your card to pay for a fancy steakhouse." You state.
"Ah, don't worry your pretty little head about that because I won't be the one paying." He says as he places his hand on his chest. "You will, and you'll be paying for the fanciest Korean restaurant in town." He states. You let out a soft laugh and nod your head.
"Okay, we'll see about that." You state. "Now, get driving. I'll navigate. I already know where the laser tag place is." You say while giving him a gentle tap on his shoulder.
"Yes, ma'am." He says before he revs his engine. He then starts to drive away from your house in the direction you say.
While he drives, you're looking around at the different buildings that you're going past. You see a few people walking on the sidewalk as well. A few of them eye you as you drive past, some women ogling at the sight of Taehyung's muscular body hovered over as he drives.
You see a few neon signs here and there as you drive past which causes you to smile.
It feels good to be back here rather than be stuck in the blocks surrounding your college. Being near the restaurants, shops, etc. near your home brings you a lot of happiness knowing you can show Taehyung around.
You can't wait to show him all of the incredible places you had to experience alone while you were single. Likewise, you can't wait for Taehyung to show you the cool places he knows about.

I hope all of you are doing well.
Please always take care of yourselves. Eat healthy, exercise whenever you can, and don't forget to show yourself a little self love.
Be safe always.
I purple you
