Chapter 121
"Hey, Dylan." Oliver called as he walked into the room. "Your mom asked me to get you or we might just get to Raven's party when they are done."
"A minute." I replied him as i stared at myself in the mirror, i was battling with myself yet saying no words to me. I had never been more confused about two guys in my entire life, well except during the Damon Salvatore and Stefan Salvatore era and also Kol and Kai Parker but then, this was real life. I had become Elena Gilbert in real life and I couldn't make a goddamn choice without thinking what if i am wrong.
"Are you okay?" Oliver asked, he was dressed in a black tux and also had a black tie on. "Dylan?" He called softly, standing next to me.
"I don't know what to do, Ollie." I told him as i stared at my reflection. "I have never been this confused in my life before."
"Hey, Dylan." Oliver squatted, looking at me. I turned my face to look back at him. "I think you should just follow your heart."
"I told you before, my heart doesn't know what it wants."
"Selena Gomez did not sing that song that way, your heart does." He said with a nod.
I sighed. "Well, Henry won't be at the party, so i guess i still have time to think and I should just spend it with Trevor."
"Exactly. Do not stress about it."
"It's funny how you're good at giving this kind of advice but you won't take it."
He cocked his brow at me. "You're talking about-"
"Yes. What's his name again? The boy you like?"
"Let's forget it." He said and stood up. "I am not telling you his name."
"Does it start from M or N?"
"Fuck you. We'll see you downstairs." He said as he left my room while I chuckled.
"Oh!" He turned once he was outside and I looked back at him. "And the whole give advice not take it shit, i think it is a Dexwell thing."
"Is it?"
Oliver cocked his brow at me and i nodded. "It is."
He smiled. "And your tux looks cool, put on the jacket and come on or your best friend will murder you for being late." He said and walked away.
I smiled and looked back at myself, with a sigh i brushed my hair back, sprayed a perfume on my neck and stood up. I walked over to my bed, picking up the jacket and putting it on. When i looked at myself in my mirror, I couldn't help but be amazed and smile because i looked so fucking good.
Raven had lied about the colour of my tux, the jacket was white and the pants were black. Stupid bitch. I looked a lot like every other rich kid, damn. The tux was slim fit, my perfect size. I picked up my bowtie and phone and quickly made my way out and to the living room where the others were.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I said as i walked over to them.
"Well, damn. Dylan doesn't look like he belongs in our world." Jaxton said with a chuckle, he was also dressed in a black suit like our Dad.
"Oh, you look gorgeous, sweetheart." Aunt Gill said and i smiled at her.
"Thank you, auntie!"
Aunt Gillian wasn't coming with us, she had decided to babysit Davina and Sofía while watching WAGS on E! Since she ended up enjoying the reality show, thanks to mom's influence.
"Where's mom?" I questioned.
"Right here." She said from the stairs and we all turned to see her in an elegant black dress with a long split that reached her left thigh. She had pearls around her neck and black gloves, a red lipstick and her hair was styled like Katherine pierce in season one when she made elena feel every pain she would feel at that masquerade party.
"Oh my God, mom, you really copied the Vampire diaries?"
"Sweetie, Katherine isn't the only one who can rock this hairstyle. I can't believe i had not seen the vampire diaries till last week, i need to thank Zach." She said as she descended from the stairs.
I rolled my eyes.
"You look really beautiful, Aunt Bonnie." Oliver said and mom smiled.
"You really do look amazing." I admitted while Jaxton nodded with a smile.
"Hold your wife, Matt or someone else might just steal her." Aunt Gillian said and took a sip from her glass of wine.
Mom chuckled and looked at Dad. "No compliments?"
Dad blinked. "Um, s-sorry, i just....cannot stop staring." He grinned. "I indeed am a lucky guy." He said as he walked over to her and kissed her.
"Alright, alright, we better leave, it's almost eight and the party started by seven." Jaxton said and mom and I snorted.
"Who goes to a party early?" Mom and I asked at the same time.
"How are we to make an entrance?" Dad asked as he locked arms with mom and they began to leave. "Bye Gillian, call us if you need anything." Mom said
"I have a child, I'm sure i can handle the kids." Aunt Gillian chuckled.
"Bye Auntie." Jaxton and i said our farewells and so did Oliver.
"Why didn't you go with Trevor, isn't he coming?" Mom asked me as we all approached Dad's car.
I swallowed. "He is. I just wanted to go with you guys for a dramatic entrance." I said and looked at Oliver who already had his eyes on me.
It is gonna be a long night.
"I can't wait to see what Raven's house looks like." Oliver said with a grin big enough to scare Casper the ghost.
***
We all walked through the doors into Raven's house at the same time in a straight line, looking like we were just as rich as the Frosts. Of course when we got in, we instantly got the stares, i mean we were all shades of sexy. We stood for a couple seconds, looking around her house, it was beautifully decorated, felt like it was my first time coming to her house. There were a lot of people, a lot of rich people if i may add, the cars outside made this place look like the white house.
"Wow." Oliver's eyes were as wide as a child.
"People are staring." Jaxton said softly with a smile.
"So this is what the Frost's house looks like." Dad said as he looked around.
We all had masquerade masks on, there was some guards outside who had a tray filled with masks in it, just in case someone didn't come with one. Mom had a black one with feathers on. Dad had a black one on, looking like he was nightwing. Jaxton had a coloured one, Oliver had a red one while i had a silver, glittery one on.
"Alright, boys." Mom smirked. "Let's show this people how outstanding the Dexwells are." She said and at the same time we all walked in. Mom's arm locked with Dad's as she catwalked, a smile on her face.
"Holy shit, Dylan." I heard and we all turned to see a blonde boy and a blonde girl standing next to each other, I didn't need anyone to tell me it was Jon and Gwen despite their masks.
I smiled. "Hello, kids." I said as they made their way to us. Jon had a black tux on while Gwen was dressed in a beautiful white silk long dress, her hair up in a bun with two strands on both sides of her face, a silver necklace rested around her neck matching her silver ear rings.
They really looked beautiful.
"Wow, you both look amazing."
"You too." Jon said with a chuckle and hugged me.
"Wow, Mrs. Dexwell, you look.....damn!" Gwen chuckled as she admired mom's dress.
"I know, sweetie." Mom smirked. "You too, you look beautiful."
"Where's Raven?" Jaxton asked.
"She'll be down in a sec." a voice behind me said, we all turned to see Zach smiling at us.
"Zach." I smiled at him. "Well, look at you, James fucking bond."
Zach chuckled. "Well at least I don't look like an assassin."
I smiled. "Thank you so much." I said and he smiled. "I haven't introduced you to Oliver, my cousin. Oliver, this is Zach, Raven's boyfriend and my friend."
"Nice to meet you, Oliver." Zach said and stretched his hand, Oliver took it in his.
"Same here."
"When is Raven gonna get down? I don't see her family anywhere." I said as i looked around.
"Hello, everyone." An unfamiliar voice said through the speakers, we all turned to see a man in a dark blue suit. "I would love for everyone here to please welcome the organisers of this party, the Frosts." He said and while people clapped, the lights deemed and a spotlight went straight to the stairs, actually two on both sides of the twin stairs, stealing all our attention. On one side was Raven and her brother Nixon while the other were her parents.
Raven was dressed in a stunning black dress, I don't know why i had expected to see her in red. She had her hair packed to the side, the dress was beautiful and long, a shiny jewellery that i was sure was more expensive than me rested on her neck, a red mask with long feathers that made her look extra gorgeous . She had a smile on her face as she walked down the stairs with her brother who was dressed in a black tux and God have i missed her brother.
"Damn, money really does all this?" Mom asked with a scoff as people clapped for them while they descended from the stairs.
"Hey, you." I heard beside me. I looked to my right to see Trevor, dressed up in a black tux and had a white painted full mask which he removed, showing his pretty smile.
"Hi." I grinned. "You look really good."
"Yeah? Well, sadly you look better." He said and I laughed.
"Hello, Mr and Mrs. Dexwell." Trevor greeted my parents.
While my parents and Trevor exchanged pleasantries, I could feel Oliver's eyes piercing into my back. I turned to him with a glare and whispered. "stop staring."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He said and looked away. Trevor said hi to my friends as well and turned his attention back to me.
"I can imagine what y'all must have looked like walking in together." He said and i chuckled.
"Oh, we looked like we worked for the CIA but still had loads of money." I replied him and he gave a nod.
"I am so not surprised, I'm just sad I missed the entrance of the famous Dexwell family." He said and I laughed.
"Shut up."
"Dylan." Raven called and i turned away from him and to her walking towards us with her brother.
"Raven, wow, you look absolutely stunning." I said as i walked over to her and hugged her.
"I am so glad you all came." She said with a big smile. "And Dylan, i am glad i picked the right colour."
"Wine would have been better." Nixon said as he pushed his mask up while Raven rolled her eyes.
"Shut up." She said as Nixon shook my parent's hands.
"Nice to meet you, Mr and Mrs. Dexwell, i don't think we've met."
"No, we haven't." Mom said as she shook his hand.
"Nixon, Raven's older brother." He said and pulled his hand away gently.
"Nice to meet you, Nixon, i hope you are not as troublesome as your sister cause trust me this girl is a case." Mom said and Nixon laughed.
"Yeah, i know she can be a handful, so thank you for putting up with her." Nixon said with a smile.
"What can we do? Our son is a handful too." Dad replied.
Raven and I groaned. "You do know if this was a movie, they'd probably have a threesome." Raven whispered into my ear and i grimaced in disgust.
"What is wrong with you?"
She shrugged. "It's true."
I rolled my eyes and walked over to Nixon. "Hey, hey,"
"Of course, the devil himself." Nixon said with a chuckle and hugged me. "How I've missed you."
"Me too. Me too." I said with a small chuckle before pulling away. "You look great as ever."
"You too. I heard you're the class president?" He asked and i nodded with a smile. "That is big but you deserve it, i am happy for you."
"Do i get any gift for that?" I asked him with furrowed brows. "Maybe a car or a....private jet? No? Okay." I nodded and he snickered.
"Crazy." He shook his head. "Um, if you would excuse me, i need to welcome some of the guests." He said with a smile.
"Of course." Mom said and gave him a little wave as he walked away. Once he left, mom and dad exchanged a knowing look and then chuckled.
"What's funny?" I asked them, away from my friends. They both looked at me and shrugged. "Come on."
"We were just thinking, if we were in or twenties or like in high school and we had met Nixon, there is a ninety percent chance that we would all had a threesome." Mom said and took two glasses of champagne from the silver tray a waiter walked past us with, she handed one to Dad who kissed her cheek as a thank you.
I grimaced and looked at Raven who was busy chatting with Trevor and the others, i looked back at my parents and shook my head at them. "I have the weirdest parents."
"No, you have the best." Dad said and rose his glass at me, he and mom clicked their glasses together and took a small sip.
"And Raven didn't whisper, we heard her." Mom said, pointing her glass at her. "I am older than that kid, guys, I wouldn't."
"And besides I can't picture another man sticking it in my wife, ew thank you." Dad said and scrunched his nose.
"What is wrong with you?" I asked him.
"Well darling, make an exception for Leonardo Dicarpio and Chris Hemsworth and Ian smol...something, well Damon." Mom said and Dad gave her a look.
"Don't be mad when i do mine."
"You better not." She glared at him.
"Oh, Raven's dad is coming this way." Jaxton said, suddenly appearing beside me.
Raven's Dad with his scary face approached us with his wife standing beside him, her arm locked with his and a smile on her face unlike her husband's.
"Dexwells." He said as he stood in front of us.
"Mr. Frost." Dad smiled at him. "Thank you so much for inviting us." He said as he shook Mr. Frost's hand.
"Of course, Dylan is practically family." He said and my brows flew up.
"So, i am a frost."
"Don't push it son." Mr. Frost said and i bit my bottom lip.
"Bonnie." Beatrice walked over to mom.
"Beatrice." They both hugged softly and did air kisses.
"That dress is gorgeous ." Mrs. Frost told her and both women began to talk.
"It really has been a while, hasn't it?" I asked Mr. Frost. "I know you have missed me."
He snorted. "You are not that important."
"Didn't you just call me family? That does sound really important." I chuckled.
"Ignore him." Dad said with a nervous chuckle.
"Oh, it's fine, i did miss him a little." Mr. Frost said and gave a small smile.
"Mr. Frost." Trevor called as he walked to where we were. "It is nice to meet you." He said as he shook his hand while standing beside me.
"Trevor? Right?" He asked and Trevor nodded. "How's your father?"
I frowned.
Wasn't Mr. Frost racist?
"He is well, he couldn't make it tonight for obvious reasons which is why i am here on his behalf."
"I know. He did tell me you were in town which was why i quickly sent another invitation to you." He said with a small smile.
"Thank you, again." Trevor said and took a champagne from a waitress passing and i sighed.
"You didn't take one for me."
"Oh, I'm sorry, love. Want mine?"
"No." I pouted.
"Don't be like that." Trevor said and i smiled.
Mr. Frost gave Trevor and I a long look before shaking his head. "Suddenly everyone is gay in this town." He sighed. "Walk with me, Matthew, let me introduce you to a couple of my friends." He said and they both began walking away. Dad winked at me and i gave him a thumbs up, if Raven's Dad was gonna introduce my father to his friends then it meant he was trying to give dad some connections and that made me smile.
"I swear this house is too big, how do you not get lost?" Oliver asked, a glass of champagne in his hand as he looked away.
"Oliver." Jaxton called and Oliver turned to him. "Can you not try to show you're poor, they'll give you the stares." He said and i suddenly chortled.
"Oliver? Poor?" I snorted. "His father sneezes money, their entire family does. Watch this," I said and turned to Oliver. "Olly, sneeze."
"Fuck you, Dylan." Oliver said with a small laugh.
I laughed as well and took the champagne from him. "You are sixteen, you shouldn't be drinking, bitch." I said and walked back to Trevor
"You know, you do fit in this whole.....rich lifestyle."
"You think so?" I asked as he wrapped a hand around my waist.
"Mmhmm. You look really hot and actually look like one of Mr. Frost's kids."
"Oh, no. I like my own parents very much." I said and he laughed.
"Oh, you wanna know something?"
"Mmhmm, tell me."
"I-" while Trevor began to speak, i had looked behind him and at the entrance for a split second but then i saw two people that suddenly made my heart stop and make me look again, longer this time.
He walked in and just stood right there as he adjusted his tux, dressed in a fitted and beautiful wine coloured tuxedo, a black mask on his face like that of the arrow. I didn't need to see his face to know it was him, he looked around the house as he buttoned his tux like a mafia's son and then his green eyes met mine and i drew in a breath. His hands slowly left his button and he just stared at me as i did the same.
What was he doing here?
Next to him was his mother dressed in a red, long, flay dress, her hair was styled in a pretty bun and a pendent rested on her chest, her mask had different colours in them. Although I hadn't seen her in months, my eyes still rested on Henry's, he slowly smiled at me, it was a normal, genuine smile but i suddenly felt breathless, suddenly felt different.
The memory of our cliche kiss in the rain appeared in my mind and i shook my head.
"Shit." I cursed and looked down.
"W-What's wrong?" Trevor asked and i looked up to see a frown on his face.
"Henry's here with his mother." I told him. "Don't look back." I said and furrowed my brows at him. "I mean it. Do not look back."
Trevor laughed. "Okay, I won't, but why are you so bothered about him being here?"
I swallowed. "Uh, because his mom is with him and remember what i told you about her."
"'Maybe you should go speak with her."
"What?"
"Listen, you and her have a strong bond, the one thing you shouldn't do is break it." He said and rubbed my shoulders. "Go. Ignore Henry, do not let him think he still has some power over you." Trev said and smiled softly at me.
I smiled back at him. "Okay." I let out a heavy sigh. "Okay." I said and walked past him and approached Mister Ashcroft and his mother, Mrs. Ashcroft.
As I approached him, everything suddenly felt slow. Our eyes remained connected and I wasn't even paying attention to his mother who stood next to him. My heart was racing so fast, once i got to them, i faked a smile.
"Hello, Catherine."
Mrs. Ashcroft took off her mask and gave me a stern look. "So now you're gonna talk to me?"
"It's not like that, i just-" i trailed off, sighing. "Um," i looked at Henry and cleared my throat. "Could you....g-give us a minute?"
Henry nodded and smiled at his mother. "Be calm." He told her before walking away. Catherine let out a sigh and looked back at me, she was so damn annoyed and i could see it.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Ashcroft. I am sorry that i never came to see you, that i never stopped by or even called, but i needed to heal and i pushed you away and everyone i loved but it was much harder to push you away and way more harder to come back to you because i just....i just couldn't, and i am so so sorry, it was really dumb for me. We had a bond and a great one at that but i just...i needed to think about me then and just me." I told her. "I am deeply sorry."
Mrs. Ashcroft shook her head and looked away from me for a second before looking back at me. "It hurt when you pushed me away like that but i guess i understand you, looking at me was like looking at Henry."
I nodded. "I just couldn't because i also knew you would have tried to get us back together."
"Hell yeah, i would have." She said and i laughed.
Mrs. Ashcroft chuckled and pulled me into a hug. "I really did miss you, love."
"Me too." I said as i held her tight. "I really did miss you." I said and pulled away. "How have you been?"
"Good. I mean, I finished a lot of shows and your mom told me about some i should see on Netflix. I am also back at my husband's company, I'm helping Daniel."
"Oh wow, I didn't know."
"Of course, you didn't. But i am Mrs. Ashcroft, I do know s thing or a thousand about business." She said with a smirk and i smiled.
"Of course you do, you are amazing."
"You got that right." She said and we both laughed.
"Oh and uh, Henry did say he wasn't...coming, I'm surprised to see you both here."
"Well, we did get an invitation but i forgot to mention it to Henry." She sighed.
Fuck.
"Oh. That makes sense." I faked a smile. "Now, let me take you to my parents."
"Yesss." She grinned. "I haven't seen your mother in a while, she's been so busy with the restaurant." Mrs. Ashcroft said and my brows rose.
Well, that meant she and mom spoke almost all the time then. I led her to where my mother was and once they saw each other, they gasped at the same time and with giggles, they hugged each other.
"Oh, it is so good to see you again, Catherine." Mom told her.
"Likewise! Bonnie, you are absolutely stunning."
"Same as you." Mom chuckled. "The party here is a little lame." Mom said, a glass of champagne in her hand.
"That is because you are not used to this life but i do agree, it is boring." Catherine snorted.
I chuckled and walked over to Trevor while my mom and Catherine talked. "So, all settled?" He asked and I nodded.
"All settled." I said and looked to my left, my eyes locking with Henry who stood beside Zach who had his arm around Raven's waist.
I blinked severally and looked away, cursing myself mentally. That kiss had gotten me confused, it had brought back that feeling that i thought I didn't have anymore. The sparks and that stupid stomach turning upside down thing.
I sighed.
"Okay, Raven." Mom called. "Can you tell that Dj to play something more....I don't know, danceable? It doesn't need to be too fast, just fit the theme." She said and we all frowned.
"Why?" Jaxton and I asked in unison.
"Because I'm about to turn this party from less boring to a little bit fun." She said and Raven smirked.
"On it." She said and called one of the waitresses and informed her on what to do.
"Matt." Mom called out to Dad who was taking to a couple of people he didn't know. "Matt!" She called again and he turned. He said something to the men before making his way back to us.
"What's wrong?" He asked before smiling at Catherine. "Hello, Catherine."
"Good to see you again, Matthew." Mrs. Ashcroft smiled at him.
"Let's dance." Mom told him and i snorted.
"You are kidding. Mom, no." I shook my head.
"I say yes." Jon grinned and i glared at him.
"Me too, i would love to see Mr and Mrs. Dexwell dance." Zach said with a grin.
Mom smiled at him. "Come on, Matt, it is a little boring here." She told him.
"I don't think so, there are kinda a lot of people here." Dad replied.
"So, you're a chicken now?" Mom questioned and Raven cooed.
"No, i just cant."
"Exactly." I nodded. "We don't want dad embarrassing himself." I said and Dad turned to me with a frown.
"Woah, woah. Don't underestimate me, kid." Dad said and instantly the song changed to a spanish song and from the beats i could tell it was Daddy Yankee's "con cama" or something like that.
I turned to Raven with a blank face. "She said something that soothe the theme. Seriously?."
"It does." Raven said with a shrug.
"Ugh," Jaxton grinned. "I love this song." He said and suddenly took out his phone. "Oh finally," he smiled. "Dominic's here."
"You invited him?" I asked, smiling at him.
Jaxton nodded. "Mmhmm, you think i was just gonna watch you all with your man and I'd just watch? No way." He said and walked away, to go fetch his boyfriend.
I chuckled.
"Party with you guys is another level of fun." Oliver whispered to me.
"I know." I said with a smile and turned back to my parents. "I'm not done with you, Dad cannot join you."
"You think I'm gonna embarrass myself?" Dad asked and i chuckled.
"W-What? No, i just-"
"Shh, i am one of the best." Dad said and mom snapped her fingers.
"Exactly." Mom turned to me. "Your father is an amazing dancer and just because you haven't seen him dance doesn't mean he's old and boring." Mom defended her man.
"Your mom is spilling facts, you know what." He shoved his drink into Oliver's hand. "I'll just show you what your mother and i can do."
"Oh my God." I shook my head. "Please don't dance."
Mom grinned and handed her drink to Oliver as well and placed her hand on Dad's. "They are not seriously gonna...right?" Zach asked.
"Knowing Dylan's parents, they will." Raven said with a smile.
"Oh, i love to see it." Trevor said and i glared at him.
My mom and dad both made their way to the centre of the room, Dad pulled mom close to him and she rose her right leg a little high as she ran a hand down his face, his hand around her waist. He spun her around and pulled her back to him and i swear they suddenly got all the stares. Dad held both mom's hands and twirled her back and forth, her leg resting on the other as she twirled, her hair like snow.
Mom ran a hand around Dad's chest as she circled him, this dance was just....too seductive and....dare i say "sexy".
"Oh my God." Raven said, just as shocked as i was.
Mom moved closer to dad, her back against his chest. Their left legs were stretched forward as they grinded against each other and my jaw dropped. Dad's hands rested against my mother's waist as she moved like she was still a fucking teenager.
"Dylan," Zach chuckled. "Your parents are-"
"Shut up." I said as i watched my parents do what I hadn't seen them do before. I had only watched my mom dance and when these two danced, it was always a slow one.
"Oh my God, they are actually...woah." Jaxton had returned with Dominic who must i say looked fucking good in a suit, he was putting on a blue suit and his hair had been growing longer, he had it tied up in a small bun. I gave him a hug and kissed his cheek once i saw him, everyone exchanged Pleasantries and he also hugged Henry once he saw him.
"Wait, aren't those Dylan's parents?" Dominic asked.
"They certainly are." Raven replied.
I am being a horrible person right now but honestly my parents are....good.
They suddenly held both hands and their legs began to work magic, the truth was i had expected to somewhat fuck up and embarrass me but my mom was fucking dancing in heels and she didn't look like the heels were hurting her and my Dad? My Dad didn't look like.....a stiff dancer or like Austin during that cringe dance battle with Trevor on Austin and Ally.
"You look shocked." Trevor said and i looked at him.
"I am." I said and with a smile, i looked behind him to see Henry with a proud smile on his face as he watched my parents and i smiled. I looked at Trevor and turned back to my parents, now everyone was watching and they had the spotlight.
As my dad pulled my mom close, she wrapped her leg around his, spinning effortlessly. He spun her around until he released her, and she spun on her own. They were like a couple out of a movie, dancing gracefully, as if they'd been practicing for this moment. People began to clap and smile, caught up in the beauty of the moment. It was like a magical moment frozen in time, a perfect memory to hold on to.
Mr. Frost looked shocked but i saw him crack a little smile while Mrs. Ashcroft kept hyping my parents. I slowly started clapping too, smiling as well.
My Dad stretched a hand for her and she took it quickly, he pulled her back to him and as they were so close, they began to move along to the beat again, IN FUCKING SYNC.
"Oh, no wonder Dylan is so amazing." Jon said in awe as he watched.
Mom was smiling so much as she danced with her husband, i knew how they both felt, like they had began younger. They never really had the time to have fun, did they? It seemed like it really had been long since they did something like this.
It felt and looked beautiful because they were happy.
Raven and every of my friend was cheering more than any of these rich folks. Jon was doing a little dance as he watched, Gwen was recording and Jaxton had his arms around Dominic as they watched with a smile.
My parents were fucking sexy!
"Those are my parents!" I said with my hands in the air.
The way my mother would flip her hair to add sass into the dance just made it so much better and these two were so perfect yet imperfect. They completed each other, they had their bad days but they loved each other just like Grandma Athena and Grandpa George, maybe more even because mom seemed incomplete without him and it was the same way with Dad. He had made his mistakes but he loved her more than life itself, he didn't believe in a woman should always cook the food even when mom was a chef and a better cook.
And when Dad made horrible food, mom would still hype him while laughing and still say it is disgusting and kiss him to make him feel better about his awful cooking. They were adults but had the souls of children, they loved to do crazy things and now I knew my mom was right, my parents were always the life of the party back in their days and i can see why they were so fucking popular back in the day, now. I mean, look at them. They completed each other.
Dad was the only one who could really handle mom's sassiness and knew how to make her go from mean to sweet so fast, he would even back her up when she was being a bitch at family gatherings and it was also the same for mom. When Dad had that anger shit going on, when he lost his way thanks to his stupid work friends, she still stood by him and didn't leave him. I mean, no one would have blamed her if she left him after what happened to Isaac but she didn't. I would have if i were in her shoes but she didn't go through with the divorce, she forgave him even after tearing our family apart. And now we were inseparable.
I looked away from them and at Henry.
They did complete each other.
I watched him, that pretty smile on his face as he admired my parents dance and live in the moment. I found myself smiling again and then just like always, he knew i was staring. He looked my way and with wide eyes, I quickly looked away.
I hope he didn't notice.
Mom ran her heels down his leg and with his arms still around her, he bent her and pulled her back to him and the song ended. Everyone went crazy and clapped for them and i joined them with a laugh, clapping like crazy. I would like to see anybody beat them. Mom giggled and kissed Dad in the lips before moving away and holding hands with him, they smiled at everyone before making their way back to us while panting heavily.
"Now, that is how you have fun at a party." Mom said and pushed her hair back.
"Oh my God, Bonnie, you are fucking amazing!" Raven said with a big grin.
"The best!!" Jon chuckled.
"I can't believe I didn't know my parents were this good." I said as a waitress brought some water for my parents.
"Well, doesn't that say worst child of the century?" Dad said and Mom chuckled.
"Good one, babe."
I scoffed. "I am so proud of you guys, you fucking slayed that. Oh my God, who are you people?" I suddenly asked as they drank their water.
"That is just one of the many things your father and i can do, we haven't danced that exactly routine in..." mom looked at Dad.
"About six to seven years?"
Mom nodded. "And yet, it fit the song perfectly." Mom said with a smile.
"Fucking amazing." Zach said and mom chuckled.
"I agree." Mrs. Ashcroft said and mom grinned.
"Thank you, Catherine."
"That was really amazing." Dominic said and Mom gasped.
"Dom! Come here." She said and opened her arms for a hug. "I didn't know you were coming."
Now the song had changed to a softer and slower one and people were dancing with their partners, thanks to momma.
"That was one of the best things i have ever seen." Henry said and mom chuckled.
"That's why we are the Dexwells, we are amazing." Dad said and Trevor chuckled the same time as Henry.
"How long have you been dancing?" Trevor asked.
"Uh, since high school." Mom answered with a shrug.
"I am really glad i came." Henry said with a smile.
Hearing these two talk at the same time made me feel a certain kind of way. "I am gong to go get me some....some something." I said and walked away real quick.
****
Oliver's POV.
I watched as Dylan's love interests were both talking to his parents at the same time. I looked at Jaxton and tapped his arm, he looked at me and furrowed his brows.
"What's up?"
"I need to speak to....all your friends, could you like...let's move away from....them." I said, referring to the boys and my aunt and Mat.
Jaxton looked confused but agreed and turned to the others while i held two glasses of champagne in my hand, I quickly gulped them both down and they all looked at me.
"Raven?" I called and she walked up to me.
"Is everything okay?"
I nodded. "Yes, yes it is but like....can we go somewhere else to talk?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Kitchen." She said and turned to the others. "Follow me." She said and began leading the way. We walked like we didn't have anything up our sleeves but I'm sure if Dylan or Raven's Dad saw us, he would know we were up to something.
Raven kept smiling at people as she walked and finally we got to her kitchen and i swear one kitchen was beautifully decorated. Mom needs to see this, she would love it but then probably make ours exactly like this. "Damn, Raven, your kitchen is-"
"Oliver. Back to reality." Jaxton said and I blinked.
"Right, sorry." I cleared my throat and looked at all them.
Dylan's friends were all alike yet so different, they were all nice and fun to be with. I think i liked Raven more, maybe because she kept spoiling me and Jon was really nice, his relationship with Dylan was beautiful and anyone would envy them. Gwen? She was a real goddess, talk about a real life barbie doll, this bitch was stunning. They were all so perfect, they were all a group of attractive people! None of them looked like a potato or a pregnant eel. They were all so beautiful and i was glad to have met them.
"This is about Dylan." I cleared my throat. "As we all know or have seen, he is facing a battle with himself."
"What do you mean?" Jaxton questioned, his brows knotted in confusion.
I swallowed. "He cannot um...he can't decide between Trevor and Henry and i think it is our job to help him c-"
"Wait a sec, what do you mean he can't decide?" Raven asked, her head tilting to the side.
"You make it seem like he's suddenly having feelings for Henry again." Gwen said and chuckled. "It's not...it's not what you mean, right?"
"Hey." Zach gave her a look. "What's wrong with that?"
"Oliver, explain." Jaxton said and i cleared my throat.
"Dylan doesn't know who he wants to be with and maybe old feelings for Henry are....resurfacing and we just need to help him understand and hear his heart."
"Wait." Jaxton said, his brows drawing together. "Why would Dylan be confused? Why would he be feeling things for Henry now?"
"Maybe he finally realised Trevor is not his soulmate." Zach said Raven elbowed his ribs. "Ow!"
She rolled her eyes and looked back at Jaxton who had a look on his face as if trying to understand and then his eyes slowly widen. "Oh my God, they kissed, didn't they?"
"What?! No!" Jon and I said at the exact same time and exchanged looks. Everyone looked at Jon and then at me and back at him.
"Listen, if Dylan had kissed Henry, we would know by now."
"T-True." Jaxton sighed.
"And besides, i understand where Oliver is coming from, we just need to get Dylan to the one he loves." Jon said with a shrug.
I nodded. "Exactly, so we just need to have him dance with Henry."
Gwen snorted. "You mean, Trevor."
"No, he said Henry." Zach said.
"Okay, first of all, no. I love Henry but i mean, have you met Trevor? The guy is what we call ' a husband material', he's a complete package."
"Maybe he is but this is about who Dylan loves." I said
"And if he didn't feel anything for Trevor, he'd have left him a long time ago." Gwen said, furrowing her brows.
"We are supposed to help Denry get back." I told her.
"Well, i am on the Drevor ship." Gwen shrugged.
"She has a point." Jaxton said with a small frown. "Trevor is everything good."
"And Henry isn't?" Zach asked.
Jaxton scoffed. "You know exactly what i mean, he makes Dylan happy."
"So does Henry." Jon suddenly spoke, shrugging.
Jaxton gave him a look. "Yeah, well, isn't it the same Henry who made Dylan stop eating? Get into a trance? All that stuff?" He asked, cocking his brows at him.
"And you suddenly think Trevor is a good guy? They've only me for like....two minutes." Zach said and Gwen scoffed.
"You're siding with Henry because he is your best friend." Gwen said.
"That and the fact that Dylan is also my friend and I know what is good for him." Zach said with a small shrug.
"And I don't know what is best for my best friend?" Jaxton said, suddenly sounding angry.
"I mean, you don't sound like it." Zach shrugged while Jaxton scoffed.
"Zach, stop." Raven shot him a glare.
"You don't even know Dylan like i do, weren't you both enemies at first because you wouldn't stop being a damn jerk?"
"And now we are friends and i love him and want what's best for him, so your point is?"
"You are irrelevant."
"Oh God." I sighed.
"Well it's good we're not talking about me or your stupid ass but Denry, so shut the fuck up and sit this one out." Zach retorted.
"Guys!" Raven yelled, glaring at both of them. "Shut the fuck up."
"Respectfully." Jon added.
"Look, we are not supposed to fight about this." I said, sighing. "Dylan obviously hasn't gotten over Henry and is clearly still in love with him, we just need to push him a little closer?" It had come out more like a question.
"Listen, I love Henry but no." Jaxton shook his head.
"Yeah, like you're not the fucked up one who asked him to say those cruel things to Dylan so Dylan can come hack to being himself, and then suddenly you're saying no? You know how hard that was for him to do and yet you made him do it!" Zach snarled at Jaxton.
"What is he talking about?" I asked, softly.
"I think it's hilarious how Jaxton wanna act like he's on team good guy when he's not a good person too."
"Watch your mouth, Zach. Because your face seems to be seeking the feel of my palm." Jaxton said, his brows furrowed.
"Try me then, Jaxton."
Jon sighed tiredly.
"Stop it." Raven pulled him back. "Let's all stop this madness right now and focus on what is important!"
I looked at Jon and suddenly felt helpless.
"Fine, then." Jon shrugged. "May the best team win." He said and we all frowned.
"What?" Raven asked, blinking in confusion.
"Jaxton and Gwen, I'd like to see you two stop all of us from getting Denry back together tonight." Jon said with a smirk.
"N-No, no, I-I didn't-"
"Fine." Jaxton cut me off. "Let us see who wins." Jaxton said and looked at Raven. "So, what team are you on?" He asked and as we all turned to her, her eyes widen.
"Hmm? Me?"
"Mmhmm." Gwen nodded.
"You gotta pick a team, babe." Zach said.
"Well," she sighed and walked over to Jaxton. "I mean, I have absolutely nothing against Henry but Trevor does seem like a good guy and can keep Dylan happy."
"Wow." Zach looked shocked.
"I'm sorry, babe." Raven shrugged.
"Alright then," Zach clapped his hands once and we looked at him. "May the best team win."
"Guys, this isn't supposed to be a competition." I said.
"May the best team win." Jaxton smirked.
"No one is listening right now." Jon said to me.
This wasn't gonna end well, was it?
"This feels like an episode of Pretty little liars." Gwen said.
"Or secret circle." Raven huffed.
"That too."
I sighed. "Let's just get this over with."
Raven smirked. "first thing we need is, music and a dance that contains switching partners."
I frowned. "Huh?"
****
DYLAN's POV
"Why does it seem like you are avoiding your friends." Nixon asked me and i sighed.
"I'm not."
"You are hanging out with me." He said and turned to me with a smile.
"Because you are....cool and normal." I said and took the champagne in his hand. "Besides, we've hung out a couple of times."
"Is that what they call stealing my clothes now?" Nicon asked and i turned to him, pointing a finger at him.
"I only ever took about four of your clothes, only four." I told him and he chuckled.
"Mmhmm, sure."
I gulped down the drink and Nixon frowned. "Wanna talk about it?"
"No."
"Does this have anything to do with Henry?"
"Yes."
"And Trevor?"
"Mmhmm. Wow, you are very observant."
"Why do you think i am the manager at my Dad's company? Duh."
I chuckled. "Since you make lots of money, why don't you have your own house?" I asked him.
"Dylan, how many times have you come into this house and met me in it?" He asked with furrowed brows.
"Well, almost never."
"Exactly. If i keep travelling around almost every week, i gotta always come back home for a little pampering." He shrugged. "I might be older but i still need home." He said as he looked at me and i smiled.
"That's sweet."
"Anyways, I should be leaving soon enough."
"Why?" I asked with a frown. "Didn't you just say you still need home?"
"I do and this will always be my first home but it is time to have mine." He said and i cocked my brow at him.
"What does that mean?"
He smiled. "I haven't told any of my family but, i am going to propose to my girlfriend next week."
"Oh my God, shut up!" I gasped. "Congratulations."
He chuckled. "Thanks. She's in Belgium so she couldn't make it tonight, I'll fly her to Paris and ask her to marry me at the Eiffel tower."
"On it? So if she's says no, you just push her? That doesn't sound so bad."
"No!" Nixon burst into laughter. "Jesus, Dylan. What is wrong with you?"
"Oh, so the cliche shit."
"Yeah, the cliche shit." He chuckled .
"That is still cute. I am happy for you, Nixon." I said and patted his back. "And if she says no, just call me."
"I knew i could count on you to do whatever." Nixon beamed.
"Anytime."
Nix chuckled. "Now, you tell me why you are hiding from your problem and not running to fix it."
"Because I can't hear my heart. On one hand there's Henry and on the other, Trevor. I so feel like Elena Gilbert right now and Henry is my Stefan while Trevor is Damon and I know Elena ended up with Damon but like....i always shipped stelena and now here i am, i always thought it would be so fucking easy but it....it isn't." I sighed. "I don't know how to feel."
"When did you get so soft?" Nixon asked and I looked at him. "Dylan always know what he wants and knows how to fix everything."
"Not everything." I sighed.
"Speak to both of them, I'm sure you would be able to know."
"It's not that easy."
Nixon snorted. "You're not listening, that's why. You're not listening to you." He said and I just stared.
"Nixon."
"Yeah?"
"Why haven't you called your father out for being a racist?"
Nixon looked taken aback and snorted. "Why would you ask me that?"
I shrugged. "I mean, he's your dad. It must suck for you having him as a father and I don't know, but it's also so weird for me knowing that that man says he tolerates black people and—"
"Woah! Woah! Hold on." Nixon chuckled slightly, looking confused. "Where the hell did you get that from? That my father was racist?"
I looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?"
Nixon huffed. "My father is anything but racist. He treats everyone the same, and by that, I mean he's just plain mean. If there's something I know about him, it's that he don't care about race, he just cares about who you are and what you do."
I chuckled. "What are you...what are you saying?"
His brows flew up. "That he is not racist."
"Your father....isn't racist."
Nixon chuckled. "No. If he was, I would be the last person denying it....especially to you."
I titled my head to the side as i took in this information and it finally dawned on me.
The bitch lied because she was embarrassed of Zach.
"Where did you hear that?" Nixon inquired.
I chuckled. "You would be surprised where that news came from. And trust me, I am shocked by this revelation."
"Nixon." We both heard and looked across the room to see his father calling out to him.
"I gotta go, Dylan." He said and turned me so i could look at him. "Think about you and your happiness, who do you want a future with, not three months with or four months with. Who makes you feel so many things at the same time yet you can tell which is that one feeling? Focus on that." He said and with a smile.
"Thank you." I smiled back. He was leaving when I called out to him.
"Oh, and Nixon."
He turned back to me. "Yeah?"
"Don't let Raven know we had that conversation about your father."
Nixon looked confused and chuckled. "Um, okay. I promise."
I smiled. "Thanks."
"See you around, Dylan." He said and walked away.
I just stood there.
Oh, Raven. You are really something, aren't you.
I dropped the glass on a table and began walking back to Trevor. But as i approached him, I spotted him speaking to Henry and my heart stopped.
What were they talking about?
What were they-—?
Oh shit.
Oh my God, did Henry tell him? Henry wouldn't, right?
I quickly rushed towards them and the second i did, the music changed. "What is going on here?" I quickly asked.
"Nothing, we were just," Trevor looked away from me and back at Henry. "Talking." He said and put an arm around me.
I swallowed.
God, i felt so....uncomfortable with this.
"Hello, everybody." We heard through the speakers. I quickly turned to Raven standing at the staircase with a microphone in her hand. "We are all gonna have a mixer dance or a dance mixer, still the same thing. So, partners will be switched real quick during the dance. Who's in?" She asked and people clapped.
Play that song! Scroll the fuck back up! I want you to feel how i felt 😩
"Well then, shall we begin?" She asked and the song changed again. People began to head to the centre and even my friends went with their partners.
"Dylan." Jaxton rushed to me. "You guys should definitely dance, go on." He said and Trevor smiled.
"Well," he turned to me. "Shall we?"
I faked a smile and nodded. "Mmhmm."
Trevor and i made our way to the circle, he put an arm around my waist and had the other intertwined. He had a smile on his face, we had people around us. At my right were Jaxton and Dominic and at my left, Raven and Zach. The dance started and as we moved in rhythm to the song, I decided to ask him what they were talking about.
"What was that about?"
"Nothing to worry yourself about." He said and spun me around, he pulled me back to him and i cocked my brow at him.
"Are you sure?" I asked him and he nodded.
"Yeah, very." He said and there was a little sound in the speakers that indicated we needed to switch and that we did. He spun me around and i twirled till i got to the next person, ready to dance with Zach but instead my chest collided against Henry's and my heart stopped.
"Henry." I breathed.
He smiled softly. "Are you avoiding me?" He asked as we danced, his hand around my waist. I swallowed and placed a hand on his shoulder and held his other hand, we began to move to the song, not breaking eye contact.
"No, I am not."
"Yes you are."
"What were you and Trevor talking about?"
He smiled. "Nothing to worry yourself about." He said and i frowned at him because i knew they were both lying. "Now, why are you avoiding me?"
"Did you tell Trevor about the....what happened?" I asked, swallowing the lump in my throat.
"I didn't. I can do many things but i won't stoop so low, Dylan." He said and i nodded.
His hand around my waist, my body pressed against his. I felt like i was gonna die any moment, physical contact with him still did crazy things to me and what i hated was how much i loved it. How much i let it happen.
"You look really beautiful tonight." He said and i looked back at him.
I just nodded and then the sound came again and i spun around and came in contact with Jon. "Hey, are you alright?" He questioned and i nodded.
"Yeah, yeah." I lied, faking a smile.
Jon nodded and i moved to the side, my right hand on his left. We took a slow step forward and then another and before i knew what was happening, Jon had tossed me to the side and back at Henry, pushing his dance partner aside and almost throwing me to the ground.
Henry caught me instantly before i would embarrass myself and fall to the ground. "I got you." He said, both hands around me, my hand rested on his and he just smiled. "It's okay." He said and i sighed.
"If you stop dancing, you're out." Raven voice said through the speakers and instantly Henry and I began to dance again. With every touch, my mind kept wondering and yelling at me to make a choice. To pick.
I walked around him and placed my hand on his right shoulder, following the dance steps. I took a step forward and so did he, he looked at me through his shoulder and i just stared back at him as we danced.
The next thing i felt was a hand pull me away from Henry, it was Jaxton. He smiled at me and i faked one at him, blinking severally.
"Hey, my turn now." Jaxton said and we both began to dance together, i looked at Henry who was dancing with his new partner, some girl in a green dress.
"His turn." Jaxton said and i looked at him, confused.
"Huh?" I asked and he moved away, a second later Trevor appeared in front of me and took my hand in his and i felt a shiver.
What was going on? I was dancing with both of them.
Trevor led the dance, a smile printed on his face as he carried me along, i felt like i was in the clouds with him, every dance was smooth, every movement, everything and i smiled at him.
He was such an amazing dancer.
The sound came again and as i danced to meet my new dance partner, a lady in a blue dress , Zach came from nowhere and began dancing with her, leaving me partnerless.
"Oh, sorry Winter." Zach said and danced away with her. I looked around and the one person without a dance partner as well was Henry and he looked just as confused.
If we didn't have a dance partner then we would both be eliminated, and so i went to him and once he saw me, his eyes brightened. "Dyl, I-"
"Let's just dance." I said and took his hand in mine.
He nodded and his hand went to my waist again, we danced like we had practiced this together over and over. With both hands on my hips, he lifted me up and spun around, as he slowly pulled me down all i could think of at that moment were his lips and that was all i stared at.
And then a hand pulled me again, it was Trevor, he pulled me away from Henry and did the dance with me instead. I leaned backwards gently, his arms still around me and when he pulled me up, i looked behind him for Henry but he wasn't there.
This was how it was for minutes, i was dancing with both of them and my friends seem to be the middle of it all. Sometimes I'd wanna dance with Trevor and someone else would end up dancing with him, same with Henry. It was crazy how i always ended up with one of them, it was a silly game orchestrated by demons.
"You okay?" Trevor asked and i blinked back to reality and smiled.
"Mmhmm, i am." I told him. With him, the dance was also too....professional, too perfect like i was scared to make a mistake with him even though i knew he wouldn't mind. I was about to ask him a question when someone gripped my hand, i turned and came in contact with Zach.
"We haven't danced." He said and i chuckled softly. His dance was a little faster which made me laugh, he pulled one hand away and while holding on to one, i twirled till our hands had stretched out and with a laugh, i twirled back to him but instead of ending right in-front of him, he made me still twirl to his left and then let go off me, and with one more turn, i ended up with Henry.
My head couldn't take all this turning, they were making me do. Or was it my heart?
And you know what i did? I still danced with him. This was how my brain was with these two, no one wanted to give up and all the cells in my body wanted them both.
Henry ran his fingers down my face gently. "Relax and breathe, I won't kiss you and I won't do anything funny, i promise." He said and i just moved with him, not taking my eyes off him. "It's crazy how you keep avoiding me when you were the one who kissed me."
"Shut up."
"Sorry." He said and i cracked a smile but it was gone as soon as it came.
With Henry, our dance was different, while i felt like i was on the clouds with Trevor, it felt like i was underwater with Henry and i was still fucking able to breathe.
"I need you to know this," he said as we turned together. "I will always and i mean always love you, you want to be friends? I will respect that, i promise." He said and i just swallowed.
How could i still be friends with him?
"But, i do know it will be hard for you," he said and smiled softly. "Because i am your ex and I don't want to leave you conflicted even though i know you still feel something for me." He said and suddenly my body went cold.
"Don't flatter yourself, Henry." I said, trying not to show any form of emotion.
"Dylan," he called. "I am really sorry for every pain that i have caused you. I am sorry for what i put you through, it kills me to know i hurt you every single minute."
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked and pulled away from him, we stopped dancing and just stared at each other.
"Because you trusted me to protect your heart and i did the opposite and that caused you great pain and it was all me." He said, his voice filled with regret. "I thought Trevor did not deserve you at all, i was very jealous." He chuckled bitterly. "But tonight, all i could see when i saw you both was you smiling, he makes you happy, doesn't he?" He asked but i gave him no answer.
I just wanted to make you jealous.
"My mom said to fight for you, that there had to be a part of you that still loved me and i was going to do that, but i should let you and Trevor be."
He didn't say Travis.
"And if you really love someone you would do anything to make them happy even let them go." He said with a shrug. "And again, i am sorry for everything."
No.
"Stop" i rose a finger at him. "That...That is enough." I said with a clenched jaw, my heart was beating so fast, way too fast and i could barely breathe. "I...I just-Don't!" I looked to my left and Jon was staring at me, i shook my head and walked away, then jogged out.
"Dyl!" Henry called.
I walked out of Raven's house and loosened my tie while letting out heavy breaths.
"I love you, Medusa."
"I love you too, Crowley."
"Your bed hair is amazing, nothing's wrong with it. It's nice that way and you look handsome with it. It's seen once in a while, you should embrace this side and stop being insecure, stupid."
"I love you, Marshmallow."
"Dylan!" I heard and quickly spun around to see Trevor rushing towards me. "Hey, are you okay?"
I swallowed and faked a smile. "Mmhmm." I nodded. "L-Let's just go."
He nodded. "Oh, okay, I'll drive you home."
"Dyl!" I looked up the stairs and running down was Henry. "Dylan, wait."
"No!" Trevor yelled and walked over to him. "You leave him the fuck alone." He said, pointing at his chest angrily. "I see what you've been doing all night!"
"What?" Henry looked confused.
"Always trying to dance with him? He doesn't want you anymore." Trevor snarled at him.
"Trevor! Let's go" i told him and just like that my friends and family were out as well, even Mrs. Ashcroft.
Trevor turned and began walking towards me when Henry spoke. "Dylan, i just-"
"That. Is. Enough!" Trevor turned back to him. "He doesn't fucking want you so leave him alone." He said and pushed him back.
"Hey," Henry's brows rose as he regained his stance. "Get the fuck out of my face before i disfigure yours and i mean it."
I swallowed, knowing there was no lie in his words. "Trevor, let us go."
"Oh yeah?" Trevor chuckled. "I would like to see your stupid ass try."
"Boys!!" Mom yelled. "What is wrong with the both of you, you are embarrassing yourselves."
"Dylan," Henry called and I looked at him. "Listen to me, just this once," he said and took a step forward but as soon as he did, Trevor punched him across the face and i flinched.
"TREVOR!!" Mom screamed.
"Trevor! Stop!" Jon shouted and ran to me, pulling me behind him as if to protect me from unforeseen punches.
"Yo! Dude." Zach rushed down the stairs. "You might want to get into your car and drive off."
Henry turned back to Trevor and punched him, harder, making him stumble and making literally all of us flinch. Trevor spat out blood, i knew damn well he was no match for Henry especially if Henry was angry.
"Oh God." Oliver gasped. "This isn't what-" he trailed off.
Trevor charged at Henry and the two boys began to fight, punching each other like they weren't humans who could feel pain. Jon, my Dad and Jon ran towards them and separated them.
"What the fuck is wrong with you two?!" Dad yelled at them. Henry had a bruised lip just like every time he was in a fight while Trevor was bleeding through his nose.
I hated it.
"Stay the fuck away from him!" Trevor warned him.
"Stop it!! Both of you!!" I pulled myself away from Jon's grip and walked towards them angrily. "You both are acting like toddlers, right now. I am not a fucking toy!" I yelled at them.
I walked over to my friends who were all standing together and in shock.
"Are you all happy now?"
"Dylan, we—"
"You all really don't know how to use your brains, huh? Did any of you sit me down to ask me what I want? No. You wanted to fucking do what you want and use me as a game in your play."
"Dylan, I'm sorry." Oliver apologised.
"I expected better from you specifically." I huffed.
I looked at Jon and shook my head at him. "Really?"
Jon looked sad and disappointed in himself. "I'm sorry."
Trevor shrugged Jon off him and cleaned the blood off his nose with his hand. "Come on, I'll take you somewhere else." Trevor said and held my hand. "I am sorry, Mr and Mrs. Dexwell." He said and pulled me along with him while Mrs. Ashcroft attended to her son who's eyes were fixed at me, his eyes filled with hurt that choked me. I finally gathered the courage to look away and leave him there, i got into the passenger's seat and closed the car door. Trevor got in and i had to use all my willpower not to look out the window and at him.
Trevor drove off immediately and apologised for what had happened, he went on about how much Henry irritated him and how he was trying so hard to win me back even when i didn't want him.
But what did Trevor know? Only what i told him.
He was angry but Henry wasn't. Henry was more hurt.
But while he spoke, i barely paid attention, all i relived was the dance with Henry and how it felt. How much i missed dancing with him.
"That was fun."
Henry looked at me and wiped off the sweat on his forehead with a grin. "Extremely fun, but then dancing with you is always fun."
Westbrick. Our second date.
I smiled.
And then our kiss in the rain, i slowly touched my lips. I had the ability to tell when someone lied to me, i mean i wasn't hundred percent good at knowing but i knew. And Henry really was ready to put his love aside just so i could be with Trevor.
Trevor also did care about me. He did care about me a lot.
But Henry,
When i think about the future, who i want to be with in a couple years, i think about Henry. Henry was the one who made me feel so many things at the same time but yet i knew that love was one of them.
Love.
Love.
Love....
"Hey," Trevor said and i blinked. The car had stopped and we were parked right in front of his house, i turned to him and he smiled. "I will make you coffee and probably bake you something."
I remained quiet for a couple seconds before speaking. "No."
"Huh? You don't want coffee or me to bake anything for you?"
I turned to him and slowly shook my head.
He frowned. "Well, what do you want me to make?" He asked with a shrug.
"I need to go." I breathed.
Trevor blinked, shocked and confused. "We just..."
"I can't." I said and looked away from him, my chest was hurting and i could feel my throat tighten, my heart was racing so fast.
"Um, okay, I'll drive you home since you wanna go home."
"No." I shook my head. "I'm not going home."
"What? Where then are you going?" He asked, confused. I looked back at him and a tear fell from my eyes, he looked shocked and then i faked a smile.
"To Henry."
His brows slowly knitted and his eyes widen a little. "What?"
"Trevor, I—" I gulped, looking down at my hands. "I don't know. It's just....there's something missing when it's us. I....I love you, God, you've been amazing, but..."
"You love him more." He muttered and I looked back at him with tears in my eyes.
"I still love him."
He gave a small nod.
"I really thought I was over him, and that I was ready to....move on. I thought I had moved on, but....I don't know why he's back here." I touched my chest. "It has been a scary week, because I love you both, but maybe him more."
I swallowed and looked away from him, i suddenly felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my chest the second i said that, those words of still loving Henry.
But at the same time, I felt a huge amount of guilt. A guilt so big, I felt it would swallow me up. Because I liked Trevor, I wanted to spend years with him. But, would I still remain Dylan? Or would I be the boy who changed to catch up with his man?
And with Henry? It was so natural. It was different. Everything. I thought romance novels or dramas exaggerated these kind of feeling, but they didn't because that was my reality at the moment.
"Wow." Trevor said softly. "Did he uh...was this about whatever he said?"
I shook my head. "No. I just...God, i am such a horrible person."
"No, no, you are not." He said as he shook his head while i became a crying mess. "You are not."
"I'm sorry."
"You don't have to apologise for not loving me the way you love him, that's not how it works." He said with a smile. "I knew you loved him, i mean, i thought maybe one day you would love me more and I thought maybe i had made you forget him but i guess not."
I closed my eyes. "You are an amazing person, you are IT. God, you are....the guy in everyone's dream." I said as i wiped my tears.
"But you are in love with Henry."
I nodded. "I am sorry, i just....I can't be with you and be thinking about him, it is not fair to you." I sniffed.
"It's okay. The Dylan I hear of, I don't think I ever got to meet the real him as well." Trevor chuckled softly. "This sucks but I get you."
"I understand and listen," he held my hands. "As much as it fucking hurts to let you go, to hear you say you still love him, i do understand and I want you to know that i will always be here for you." He sighed. "Wow, my chest does hurt." He chuckled sadly. "That lucky bastard. I swear if he ever hurts you, i will kill him."
I smiled softly. "I am sorry, you were everything i ever wanted."
"But you need him." He said and i remained silent. "Your eyes always sparkle when you see him, i mean you smiled beautifully around me but i just wanted to see your eyes sparkle, like that time in school or tonight. Even though you looked confused, God seeing you dance with him? It was too beautiful, i hated it." He said with a smile. "It always felt like you were holding back when you were with me for some reason." He shrugged. "You love him, and if you have chosen him then i know you gave this a lot of thought." He said and I nodded.
"Just don't....give him the upper hand, you should be the one to control the relationship and never let him hurt you if you both are gonna be a thing." Trevor instructed. "And if he ever hurts you, call me."
"We're still...friends, right?"
Trevor nodded. "Always. Dating you was beautiful, such beautiful memories, even if we didn't have an official relationship. It was nice having you as my half boyfriend." He grinned. "Damn, i should have asked you to be my full boyfriend." He sighed.
"And then I'd break up with you precisely how many weeks later?" I asked, and we both laughed, shortly.
"I'll drive you back to the party."
"No." I shook my head. "It's okay. I will find my way back. I don't want to trouble you. "
"I insist."
"And I decline." I retorted. "Thank you, Trevor." I said softly and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you for coming into my life too." He smiled, softly. He pulled into a tight hug and then kissed my forehead.
"Be good."
"I will." I nodded.
"Thank you for being an amazing Half boyfriend." He said and i smiled.
"Bye."
"Goodbye, Dylan." He said as i undid my seatbelt. I got out of his car and closed the car door, i waved at him and he did the same, then i walked away.
It started with a walk and then a jog and then i ran.

I was in Henry's neighbourhood, walking to his house when i saw him sitting on his car trunk, his suit jacket on his trunk and his tie loosened as he stared into the night.
I smiled once i saw him and called out to him. "Henry." He turned and looked at me then looked away and back at me with wide eyes this time.
"Dylan?" He called softly and quickly jumped down from his car trunk as i walked over to him. "What are you doing h-" i instantly kissed him, my hands on both sides of his face. I pulled away and he slowly opened his eyes, he let out a deep breath.
"What are you....shouldn't you be with Trevor?"
"And here i am with you, because you were right, i still have feelings for you." I said and sighed heavily. "Oh God, that felt good to say."
Henry chuckled. "I um....I don't-"
"I fucking love you, Ashcroft. I fucking still love you and it is crazy how i can still feel this for you but, you are who i wanna be with, you." I told him.
"You do?"
I nodded. "Yeah,"
"Listen, I know you care about Trevor, and I'm here saying that I won't come in between you two ever because I do want you to be happy and—"
"Shut up. I choose you. You."
Henry smiled, his eyes suddenly filled with tears that he quickly wiped away. "And i love you, marshmallow." He said and i laughed.
"Yeah, i know." I said and he pulled me into a deeper kiss, i tasted his lips again, my arms folding around his neck.
"Mm." I pulled away. "And don't fucking ever think of hurting me again."
He nodded rapidly. "I swear, i will never ever ever ever do any shit to hurt you, i swear it. Nothing."
"Good."
"D-Does this mean we are...back together?"
"What do you think, Ashcroft?" I asked and he smirked. He quickly pulled me up, a laugh escaped my lips as i wrapped my legs around him. He looked happy, like a child that had been given a stolen candy.
I ran a hand through his hair and leaned, kissing him again.
The butterflies emerged.
