Chapter 11.
Dylan's P.O.V
"So, should we be worried about Raven?" I asked staring right at her and her squad in the field. We were sitting beside each other on one of the bleachers in our P.E outfit. I just couldn't help but worry.
"I don't know. I think Raven can handle her, they've always been at each other's throat." He said and then we sawRaven yell at someone. "You know what? Yeah, I think we should worry about your best friend." He agreed with a nod.
"Well, hopefully everything does gets better. I don't wanna get involved in that drama." I shrugged and then turned to him with a smile. "So! How's your boyfriend? The one I have never met? I mean, come on. When am I gonna see him?"
I really wanted to meet the famous boyfriend of Jaxton that he talked about a lot.
"Well uh...we broke up" he said and plastered a total fake smile.
I blinked. "Jaxton, speak english. That thing you said, what was that?"
"We uh, ended things."
I blinked. "Oh my God. I'm...I'm so sorry. Wow. Uh, does...does he go here?"
"No. He goes to another school. "
"Wh—What happened? When did you guys....?"
"Sunday. " he replied, nodding. "He...he just wasn't the guy for me, I don't know how I missed the signs." He chuckled sadly.
That was when I realised I was a horrible friend. We did speak on phone and all, but i never asked how he really was.
"What did he do?"
"He cheated. I caught him. He drinks and parties and we've fought a lot. I mean I know you can't change someone but then he did the worst thing by cheating....with a girl" he said and looked up at me with a laugh.
My eyes popped.
"Oh shit. What a dick."
"Yeah," he chortled. "That's why I kinda didn't want you both to meet, cause he's an ass."
"He is such a fucking dickwad. I'm sorry that happened."
"Oh no, it's okay. I'm fine." He flashed me a smile.
"You're not. What he did to you was awful. You are right, you don't deserve someone like him, you deserve better. Someone that appreciates you and won't want to hurt you. So tell me, when do we go over to his house and burn his things? I mean, as long as if you get caught you don't mention my name. I love you, but I'm tryna go to Harvard."
Jaxton laughed.
"Okay. Good luck with that. And his name is Vaughn Boyarskiy. He's 5'11 feet tall. He's Russian too" he identified with a fake smile.
Russian?
"You dated a Russian?"
He nodded.
"Was it big?"
"Dylan!" He laughed.
"It is important!"
"It isn't." He said, in between laughs.
"Okay. Okay. How long was your relationship?"
"Five months." He answered. "But honestly, I'm fine! I promise."
I sighed heavily.
"No you're not" I said and gave him a half hug. "You know what. How about you come over for a sleepover tonight and we'll talk more about how much of a douche your ex is and fantasize about killing him while having popcorn and watching a horror movie" I smiled at him
"Are you sure? I don't wanna impose."
"Oh shush. I invited you."
"Okay then."
"Right about my friendship dinner of course"
"Huh?"
"Right after my friendship dinner. I should stop speaking too fast and mixing words."
He laughed. "You mean your date?"
"Friendship dinner." I corrected
"Mmhmm. Yeah, sure" he snorted.
"Be at my house by eight o'clock."
"Aye Aye captain" he did that salute thing which made me chuckle.
"Hey," A loud voice said. We both turned to the direction of the voice and running towards us was Christian with wet hair, smiling and looking hurt as ever.
"Hey you" I smiled at him.
Christian beamed. "Hey, handsome."!
"Hey, Christian." Jax gave a small wave.
"Jax, this is Christian. He helped me find my locker on the first day and Christian, this is Jax. My good good good friend." I stated with a smile. "Best friend."
Jax gave me a look, his brows furrowed as if saying Seriously?
"I know who Christian is, Dylan. I've been in this school long before you." Jaxton said and smiled at Christian. "Hi."
Embarrassing.
Christian chuckled. "Yeah, we've spoken a couple times and share some of the same classes." Christian said with a grin.
"Yes, we have." Jax nodded. "And you also helped put up posters for the club. Thank you again for that."
"Oh, it's nothing. You're one of the good ones this school has, and I'd like for that to remain the same." He said, while Jaxton just smiled in reply.
"Shouldn't you be on the field with your teammates?" I asked.
"Well, I was. Until I saw you and I thought, why don't I go say hi to this really hot boy sitting on the bleachers."
I snickered. "You're a good one, but flattery will get you nowhere, Christian."
"It already did." He winked, while I huffed.
"So, later today?"
"After I get off detention, I'll go home and get ready and I'll call you." I smiled. "I promise"
"Okay." He smiled, widely, like a child. "I'll see you later today then."
"See you around Christian, and I'll also make sure he comes for that friendship...dinner thingy." Jax said the last part in an awkward way which made me pinch his leg. He flinched in pain, and quickly faked a smile at Christian.
Christian laughed and nodded. "Alright! Later guys." He said and ran off with that cute smile.
"Isn't he just gorgeous?" Jax sighed. "And you just called me your best friend"
"He really is cute, and shush." I said and placed my arm around his shoulder.
"And don't you ever pinch me! That hurt!" He gently smacked my arm.
I chuckled.
"You brought it on yourself, Mister."
"Oh! And uh, Henry's been staring our way for the past few seconds, and mostly at you, definitely not me." Jax's eyes were elsewhere. I traced them to see Henry on the field looking our way, he looked away once our eyes met and pretended not to care.
"He's probably planning his revenge or something" I frowned and looked away.
"Um...that's not what I see" jax said and shook his head. "Is there like a chemistry between you two?"
"Not chemistry, darling. History."
"Oh, spill."
"History, Jaxton. And you know that history." I said, my eyes not leaving Henry. His eyes rose and met mine again, and we just looked at each other. "I hate him." I said.
"I don't think its mutual, I mean—" Jaxton trolled off as he looked behind me. "And Satan appears" he muttered to my hearing. I was confused and slowly turned to see Quinn walking towards us with a smile.
Oh shit.
"I wonder what she wants now." Jaxton muttered under my breath as she approached us.
"Hello, boys." Quinn grinned. "Can I sit?"
"If you want." I replied.
"Thanks." She said and sat down in our middle, squeezing herself in.
"Okaaaay." Jaxton and I moved for space.
"So, I would like to know, how are you liking Eastwood high so far?" She asked me.
"It's not bad? Just filled with crazy kids."
"Ugh, true. But one thing about this school? You have to find a way to fix yourself somewhere, with power and a crown, so no one disrespects or treats you like shit." She shrugged.
"That how you became you?" I asked her.
"Oh, I've always made a place for myself everywhere. Eastwood high was just like every other ugly place." She said and I chuckled.
"You have a point."
"Joshua," she turned to Jaxton. "Can you give us five minutes?"
"My name is Ja-, never mind. I'll be back." Jaxton said and walked away. "Five minutes." He repeated.
"So, what do you wanna say for you to send Jaxton away?" I asked her.
"How would you like to be my own friend?"
"Im not for sale," I chuckled. "Anyone can be my friend if they are good."
"Hmm. Are you a good person, Dylan?"
"It depends. What is your explanation of a good person?"
"Mine differs. I don't believe in good or bad. I only believe in power."
I smirked. "You know, you might not be that bad."
"Yeah, Raven's just a cunt who likes to paint me bad in front of others."
"Nah, don't....let's not call her a cunt."
"Sure." She calmly threw her hair backwards gently. "Anyways, I am throwing a party this friday and I am inviting you. All you have to do is look good, show up and have fun."
"I can do that." I smiled.
"I know you can. I want your first party to be mine."
"Thank you."
"And you can bring your friend with you. Joshua."
"His name is Jaxton."
"I know," she nodded. "I like Joshua more. And when you make mistakes in people's names-"
"It makes them feel unimportant." I finished and she smirked at me.
"You know, huh."
"Hmm."
"I'm gonna leave now, but I will say something." She said as she stood up. "Be careful of the friend you picked, they have claws the size of knives."
"You mean Raven?"
Quinn chuckled. "Also the gay one." She said and with a sigh, clasped her hands together. "Anyways, I have got to go now. Joshua! You can come back!" She said to Jaxton's hearing. "I cannot wait to show you how amazing I am here, you will get to love me!"
I laughed nervously. "Sureee."
"Also, maybe wear a touch of white or something."
"There's a dress code?"
She pouted for a sec and then nodded. "Sure."
"Right."
"Great. Cha cha. Can't wait" she giggled, twirled and walked away.
"Whatever happened?"
"She invited me to her party."
"What did you say?"
"I said yes."
"You know you just signed a death contract, right?" Jax said, pulling my attention back to him.
"What? It's just a party. And she said I can bring your ass too, Joshua."
"Shut up." He snorted while I chucked.
"Quinn does throws one of the best parties." Jax admitted.
"And you expect me not to go? Wow. I didn't know you hated me so much, JaxJax." I said and stood up walking away.
"Ugh. Come on." He said with a laugh.
"Byeee."
***
I couldn't wait for detention to be over. Ten more minutes. I just wanted to rush home and get ready for the friendship dinner.
I was tapping my pencil on my book continuously, frustrated as fuck. You know that feeling when you just stay and time flies but when you're waiting for a specific time, its like it never moves and you just wanna scream?
Yeah that's how I feel right now.
"Come on. Come on. Come on."
"What's up with you?" A voice next to me asked with a chuckle. Henry.
I rolled my eyes, not looking at him. "Leave me alone."
"No." He replied and then I felt something hit my head, I looked at the floor to see it was a paper squeezed into a ball-like shake.
"What do you want?" I scowled at him.
"To disturb you." He said with an adorable smile.
"Look I..."
Just then I heard books ruffling, I looked at the time and smiled.
Three thirty.
I grinned and stood up putting my book and pen in my bag rapidly, I quickly dialed Raven's number.
"Hey. What's up?" I smiled once she answered. I began walking outside.
"I'm just home surfing the net. What's up? Are you home? She asked over the phone.
"Someone's in a hurry." Henry spoke from beside me as I walked. I didn't say anything to him and just ignored his existence.
"No but... I'm heading home now. I don't wanna be late and make Christian angry again." I said with a sigh as I walked.
"Well then hurry if you don't want him planning your death, but then he's a sweetheart so he wouldn't, but still!"
"I know, I know." I sighed. "I'll call you later, bye love!"
"Christian?"
I sighed and turned looking at henry, whose hands were in his pockets.
"What is it? You're bugging me. I hate your presence. And yes. I'm going out with christian. Got a problem?" I asked giving him a cold glare.
"Uh...no" he chuckled. "Just use condoms" he smirked.
What the-
I rolled my eyes. "Dirty pig" I muttered and walked away . I had to get home early.
***
"Jax chill, I'm about to leave the house" I sighed . I was speaking to him over the phone and he was asking me when I'd leave. If I'm there. That and this. I had changed my clothes to a black v-neck and black plain office pants, a blue necklace and some boots.
"Alright. Alright. Bye now!" I said and hanged up with a sigh, I picked up my black jacket and cellphone and quickly left.
"Ooouuu. Where are you off too?" Mom asked as I walked up to her, she was in the living room watching of those Telemundo programs.
"I uh, I have dinner with....friends."
"Oh. Well, you're looking really good! Come home early, okay?"
I smiled and kissed her cheek.
"Yeah, and oh! A friend of mine will be coming over for a sleepover, I hope you don't mind. He needs a friend right now because he's going through some stuff now."
She smiled. "Of course it's okay. It's really nice to see you make an effort and having friends."
"I'm gonna go now." I didn't want to hear all those friendship talks and stuff she was heading to. "Later." I said as I walked out the door.
I texted Christian once I got into a taxi to the location. Christian had picked the place we were going to, and it was only right because I didn't know anywhere here, not really, and since this was his home, he knew where to take me to. rant. I didn't know what he had in mind but oh well.
I paid the taxi driver once I got to the location and looked up at the restaurant?
My eyes widened instantly.
"Oh wow."
Peni-sa
"That is the actual fucking name."
I'm sorry but what were the owners thinking? Penisa? Peni-sa?
I began to laugh, I walked in trying to hold my laugh so much and that shit was hard.
It was funny.
I was welcomed by the aroma of food, different kinda of food and I really did like that kind of welcoming. Didn't expect that from a restaurant called penisa. There weren't much people, about eleven head counts. I looked around and spotted Christian sitting on a table close to the window. His hair was nice and he looked pretty cute, he was wearing a blue shirt and a black blazer. A glass of water on his side of the table as he stared at his phone Impatiently. Not texting just waiting....for something. A text. From me maybe. I smiled and walked towards him.
"Don't look too much. I'm here." I said as I approached him. Christian looked up and once he saw me, his face brightened and he smiled widely.
"Hey" he stood up and we both hugged.
I'm so sorry for being—"I looked at the time on my watch. "Twenty minutes late" I said as I pulled away.
"Nah, it's okay." He said and we both sat across each other. "I'm just glad you came. and you look really good."
"You look amazing too. You didn't think I was gonna make it, did you?"
"I had a little doubt. I'm sorry." He laughed.
"Well. It's not your fault tho" I shrugged. "Oh. And....penisa?" I had to ask. I began to laugh and so did he.
"I know, it's funny every time." He said still laughing, his shoulders shaking.
"What were they thinking? How long has this place been open?"
"Three years" his brows furrowed
"No." I gasped. "Tell me the name got recently changed"
"No. It hasn't. The main owners just moved here from somewhere around Asia and they were good in English, but couldn't speak English properly. Not like a hundred percent, well when they moved here, they asked someone for a translation of a word and the asshole told them it was what we now have outside."
"Is this real, or is this the usual Asian stereotype of them not knowing how to speak English?"
Christian shrugged. "That's the story I heard. But when they saw the name pulled in a lot of customers out of curiosity, they kept the name, and everyone gets curious and comes here."
"If that's true, then I like how they turned a mockery into cash making."
Christian nodded in agreement. "And its actually pronounced pi-nee-sir"
"I honestly don't care cause that's not what I see up there."
"Neither does anyone." He chuckled.
"It's like begging for penis. How come I never saw this place? Thank you for bringing me here." I said with a laugh.
"You're most welcome." He had a grin on his face.
"I bet some white person made them call it Penisa, if they were not fluent with english back then."
"That's what i heard too."
"Why do people who look like me always look for a reason to be racist? Don't get me started on the ones who wear sunglasses and a cap and look like bikers. Ugh!" I grimaced. "But thankfully they found a way to make money out of it. And that is what we call 'brains'. They do not have to be fluent in english to be successful, I mean it isn't their mothers tongue so fuck people who speak English."
"Preach." Christian said and I laughed.
"I could never understand hating people cause of their skin color. What do you gain?"
"Absolutely nothing."
"Exactly. Just hating and their dicks aren't even getting any bigger." I sighed. "Anyways, enough about people who look like me. Back to this! I might be coming here more often, if...the food is really great."
"You will love it." Christian assured me.
"Hi" A blond waitress smiled at us. Her hair tied up into a ponytail. "What...can I get you?"
I picked up the menu the same time as Christian.
"Uh...I'll have a Greek Salad" he smiled at her and then looked at me.
"Hmm...I'd like to have a steak" I looked up at her and beamed.
"How would you like that done?" She asked as he jotted it down.
"Medium, please" I smiled, hating myself already. She smiled back and nodded.
"Okay. Your orders will be here in few minutes." She said and walked away.
"So. Dylan."
"Yes, Christian."
He chuckled. "Tell me. What brought the cute white haired to Eastwood?" He asked as he relaxed on the booth.
Everyone really just wanna know.
"Hmm...work. My other's husband got transfered and so we moved." I answered with a shrug.
"Oh." He blinked, confused.
"Tell me about you then, Christian. What exactly is your last name because i sometimes like to call people by their last name.."
"Full name is Christian Tate" he smiled at me.
"Oooooh" I coed "Tate is a nice one" i smiled, wiggling my brows but he just chuckled.
"Thank you."
"Sure, Tate."
"I have two brothers and a sister. My sister is married and has a two year old and is pregnant, and then two annoying younger brothers. One is adopted. James" he shrugged.
"That's cute. Babies everywhere." I smiled. "Wait! How old is James and the other one whom you didn't say his name?"
"James is eleven and Simon is fourteen"
"Oh." I furrowed my brows. "They are not...babies then. I take that back"
He chuckled. "What about you? Any..sib..."
"So. Have you been in this town since birth?" I cut in. He blinked.
"Uh," he cleared his throat. "Yes, I uh, I was born here. My parents were born here and I've lived here my entire life."
Wow.
"I sometimes wonder what that's like? We don't always move like every two years, but like, we still...move, y'know?"
"You don't enjoy it?
I gave him a look. "Who does? It's not a vacation."
It really wasn't.
"Hopefully, you don't move." He smiled, softly.
"Hopefully, I don't. I've been here for probably more than a a while now, and it seems nice. What exactly are the fun things that are done in this town?"
I really was curious. I mean, I've never really gone out. Only to the movies and stuff. Wait. Would I even go out?
"Oh! This town does have a lot of fun things. Maybe I could show you around sometime, the water park is amazing. The amusement park itself."
My eyes widened with excitement.
I love amusement parks.
"Who doesn't. ?" He chuckled slightly
"Did I say that out loud?"
"Yes." He said, and we both laughed.
"Promise me you'd take me one day!"
He snickered.
"I will. Whenever you wanna."
I smiled.
"Thank you, Tate. Better keep that promise." I said and then the waitress brought our order. We sat in silence as she arranged them on our table and we just smiled at her before she left, saying our thank yous.
God. I'm starving!!!
"So you're best friends with the school's devil and the school's saint."
"Good description , and yes, I am. But then where does that leave me? I mean the devil and the saint? What am I?" I arched my brow, curiously. "Am I earth? Or mankind?"
"Oh, it's that Dark Angel."
I blinked, astounded. "Huh?"
"That's what they call you in the locker room. Well...the football team though."
"Dark Angel? No one knows me"
"Um, have you met you? Cause I think everyone else has. You're like Azula, you've got a sweet and angelic face but you be spitting fire." Christian chuckled. "Dark angel."
""Oh," I blinked. "Well, you see that's something i didn't know. I guess I'm.....popular?"
Christian snorted. "Oh, you have no idea."
Dark Angel?
It's actually pretty hot.
I smirked.
