Chapter 19: Party
~Lucy's POV~
"Do I look okay?" I asked as I stared at myself through the mirror. The mirror portrayed a thin girl with big curls and a small cocktail dress. I saw Natsu eyeing me up and down, then found his hands placed upon my waist.
"You look great," he seductivly whispered into my ear. I smiled at his sweet compliment, blush sprawling all over my face. "Red is definitely your color," Natsu said as he kissed my cheek.
It had been about a month since the incident with Lisanna. Ever since then, Natsu and I have gotten closer and closer. I've met with my father a few times, things seem to be improving between us. We had just finished up midterms and started our last winter break of high school. I had been making sure to keep up on my english project, taking pictures and such. My scrap book was turning out great.
"You ready to go?" Natsu asked, ripping me away from my thoughts.
"Yea, I just need to add one final touch." I smiled as sat down at the vanity that used to belong to Natsu's mother. All of my makeup had been organized and placed in all of the drawers. I opened the smallest drawer, revealing a lightly used tube of red lipstick.
Natsu stood over me, his hands placed on my shoulders. We have always been touchy people, it's how we are. I applied a light coat on my luscious lips, seeing Natsu smile the whole time.
"Now I'm ready to go." The lipstick was placed inside of it's previous drawer, leaving the space empty and clear. I stood up from the vanity only to be stopped by Natsu's arms.
"How did I get so lucky?" Natsu sweetly asked as he turned me around to face him. His hands found my waist and hugged me close.
"I think I should be asking that question," I lightly kissed his cheek as to not to ruin my makeup. "You look great in black." I mocked his compliment that he had used on me from earlier. He was wearing a sleek black dress shirt and slacks. Natsu replied by rubbing his nose against mine. Little eskimo kisses were my weakness.
"Thanks." He said as he backed away slightly, still looking at me from head to toe. "We should probably go, unless you want to be late for some reason." Natsu sent me a wink, making me internally crumble. I lightly slapped his shoulder, laughing at his crude joke.
"Come on lets go." I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the door.
Since Christmas is quickly approaching, Levy invited us all to her house for a Christmas party. It's being held at her uncle's manner, so it was going to be huge. Natsu had rented a car since it was too cold to drive his motorcycle. I had packed away a bunch of presents in my purse, one for each of my good friends.
Her aunt and uncle aren't going to be there, so who knows what's going to happen. It was a formal occasion, but I bet we won't act like formal guests. Natsu and I walked our way down to the garage and drove to the party.

"Lu-chan!" Levy screamed among the massive crowd of people. After shuffling around some bodies, we finally found each other. She grabbed one of my hands and showed me a toothy grin. "You look so pretty Lucy!" She yelled over the pounding music. Her blue dress poofed around her body, creating a princess like image.
"Me? Look at yourself, you're gorgeous!" I smiled at her, placing a small gift into her open hand. "Merry Christmas!" Levy's olive green eyes widened to full circles.
"Oh Lucy, you didn't have to!" She took the little red present and admired the wrapping. I added a large silver bow on top of the box, adding a little volume to the small package.
"I wanted to." I shooed away her guilt, eager for her to open her present. She looked up at me with a small smile, eyes glistening under the bright holiday lights. She carefully unfolded the wrapping paper, making sure she didn't rip anything.
She tossed the shining paper aside and opened the tiny box. Inside the box lie a little key chain that said "best friends" on it. It contained a picture of us that I had taken earlier this year inside of the casing. Levy's eyes widened, mouth agape.
"Wow Lucy!" She said tossing it around in her palm. "Thank you so much!" I pulled out my keys and showed her that mine was already attached.
"No problem bestie!" My smile was radiant from ear to ear, eager to see more of my friends. Levy opened her mouth to say something but was instantly grabbed by someone else.
"I'll give you your present later," she yelled as she was dragged through the crowd. I gave her a thumbs up and chuckled to myself. I saw another bluenette enter behind me. I could spot her through the crowd because of her blue hair.
"Juvia!" I threw my hand up in the crowd as to get her attention. Her blue eyes found me and smiled. I smirked as I saw Gray standing right next to her.
"Merry Christmas you two!" I said as I embraced Juvia. Her laugh vibrated through her skin, a pleasant noise to hear. She looked beautiful as usual in a tight white dress.
"Merry Christmas Lucy!" Juvia said as I disconnected myself from our hug. Gray had his hands in his pockets, staring at the ceiling.
"Oh! Reminds me," I proclaimed loudly as I shoved my hand into my purse. I pulled out a small gift wrapped in green. "Open this when you can, I'm gonna try to find Erza!" I placed the gift in Juvia's pale hands and walked away. Secretly, it was a framed picture of Juvia, Levy, and I at the librarians desk.
I waved back and walked towards the ten foot Christmas tree placed in the middle of the room.
On my way through the mass of people someone handed me a plastic wine glass filled with some alcoholic beverage. I took it and shrugged my shoulders. One drink wouldn't be bad right? I gulped down the bitter liquid and shook my head. It slivered down my throat, burning the entire way down.
I placed the champagne glass back onto one of the trays that the butlers were carrying. A certain red head then came into my vision.
"Erza!" I bumped into a few people trying to reach her, receiving a few smiles and glares. She was wearing a long black dress with a slit up one side.
"Merry Christmas Lucy," she said through a smile. She stopped a nearby butler and grabbed two champagne glasses. She handed me one with a smile. I took it with a sense of nervousness building up in my chest. I'm an extreme light weight, this would probably make me tipsy.
"Merry Christmas Erza," I said as we clinked our glasses together. We both gulped down the now sweet liquid, laughing as soon as we were finished. I could already feel a little buzz coming on. I reached into my purse for the last time and handed her the last present.
"It's just a little something for being my friend," I said as I set down my glass. "I'm going to go dance okay? I'll meet you out there." I winked and walked away before I could see her open the gift I had given her. It was special hair pin that she was eyeing in the shops.
She acted surprised but quickly got interrupted by her boyfriend. Now I needed to find my boyfriend. The music just kind of took the best of me, but we somehow found each other in the middle of all the people.
"Haven't seen you in a while," I joked, my head spinning slightly. "You get it? Because I saw you like twenty minutes ago." I lightly slapped his shoulder, receiving an eye roll.
"Are you drunk?" Natsu asked as a chuckle escaped his lips.
"No way, I only had like," I couldn't even finish my sentence. "A few drinks, I don't even know." I hiccuped as Natsu took my hand and lead me to an unknown destination. I stumbled along, not being able to recognize the near by faces. Everything just looked like a smudge on a busy canvas.
Soon we were under the night sky, on a terrace that was decorated in falling snow.
"You're too vulnerable in this state Lucy. Someone could easily take advantage of you," Natsu said as he wrapped his arms around my back. He peered down at me with a sort of calm and collected look. Unexpectedly, his lips crashed with mine.
I of course kissed him back. After a minute or two I pulled away.
"What was that all about?" I asked as red crept across my cheeks.
"I'm just claiming what's mine," Natsu said as he peered back into the party room. A few boys quickly looked away at the sight of Natsu, too afraid to face him.
"Oh," I said through a series of giggles. "Thanks Natsu," I said with a smile as my hair fell off of my shoulders. A cold chain then hit my hot skin, landing directly at the center of my chest. Natsu was fiddling with the hook at the back of my neck, but he easily got it.
"Merry Christmas Lucy," Natsu said timidly as he blushed. I brought my hand up to my chest to admire the new necklace that he had bought for me. It was in the shape of a little bird somewhat relating to a mockingjay. I had seen pictures of this so called bird all throughout Natsu's room; he would always be sketching it.
The outline of the bird lay upon my chest, it's pink color shining brightly. I was so stunned that my eyes started brimming with tears.
"Oh my gosh, it's beautiful Natsu." I said as I looked up at him, a relieved look upon his face. "Thank you so much." I gave him a quick kiss and grabbed his hand.
"Your gift is at home," I said shyly. "I wanted to give it to you in private." I looked down at the floor with embarrassment. A smirk appeared on Natsu's lips. He was unable to contain his excitement. I had actually gotten him a gift, but that night will all be unknown.
"Come on lets dance!" I said as grabbed his hand and pulled him inside.
