Ah. Can you smell the scent of gossip and hear the talk of the town for today? Well, I was. I definitely don't know about you. The talk of the town was there was a new student transferred here. They said he was hot and could be the next Asher Black. That one popular jock who took girls virginity for a game, the body of a God and the face of glamour. I wanted to see that guy everyone was speaking of.
Wild girls gathered at their lockers in a group, gossiping about the new face of this school.
"He is definitely the next Asher Black. Maybe we should drop Asher and scoot over to him, " The girl from a group told her pals.
These girls never give up.
"Who doesn't likes a bad boy. They are everything, " A gay guy told his pals, "I hope he's gay." He was one of those stereotypes gay male.
Gossip was basically staining the air as I walked the halls of Promsfeild High. Then the new face of Promsfeild high was walking up the hallway with a few other girls scurrying behind him. Oh hell no. He wasn't all that. I mean, why jibber-jabber about a normal human being like us? They pretended as if he was an alien out of space.
He was kinda cute for sure, but look he wasn't all that. God, help these screaming souls of girls who will definitely need your help to repent from their behaviours.
We were walking the opposite directions in the hallway. He was coming up while I was going down. I walked past him like any normal person in the streets.
Let me give you a little background information on myself. I am Cassidy Davis with a handsome best friend, Clive Hughes. We've known each other our whole lives. I don't want to bore you with my life so you'll eventually know who I live with and whatever later on.
I was meeting Clive since we had a theatre class together and our class will do a school musical next week. I was a girl of music. I loved music and art. I found it entertaining and fun but also creative. The musical we were doing will be Cinderella. It will give us a grade so I had to participate whether I liked it or not.
I walked inside the theatre. A few of my classmates were reciting their part, a few were practising the music, a few were having a little disagreement and there was my best friend, sitting in a corner by himself as he rehearsed his lines. He always stands out. With a smile on my face, I made it over to him. Without him knowing, I snuck up and hugged him from behind.
"I missed you." I inhaled his sweet scent in my nostrils. He always had a familiar fragrance of axe. The perfume.
"Why do you always snuck up on me like that? You've seen me yesterday at your house, how can you miss me already? Am I that hot?"
"Two much questions. And you're totally heated not hot."
So if you were wondering what part I was playing, it wouldn't be what you expected. So I was playing one of the wicked stepsisters. How gruesome. I was playing Drizella. I joined him.
"How is your script going my prince?" Yeah, so basically he was playing the prince part. I was happy for him.
"It is okay, but having Whitney as Cinderella, it's a whole world on my shoulder."
If you are wondering who was Whitney, she was the invention of whore, a bitch and a Queen motherfucking bee. I won't lie but she was hot and she was blonde. You know, I was starting to think that most mean queen bees were most likely to be a blonde with blue eyes. But hers were bright brown, which gave her a rouge but rare look.
"Urgh! Stay off my space and let me practice in one peace!" Whitney, always being Whitney.
"She's a monster. God. And thinking of kissing her and putting the glass slipper on her feet...man."
I laughed a little, "Don't worry. Everything will be okay. It's just a stupid musical that will give you a grade. Nothing to be dramatic about."
"I have to be dramatic since I will have to deal with a motherfucking monster." He went back to his script.
Mrs Phillips entered the theatre and the room went silent, the music stopped, everything. Both Clive and I went up closer to her since the class was beginning.
"Good morning to you all. I need you all to get in your places immediately. Remember the musical is next week." Mrs Phillips's entire body was pouring sweats.
We scurried to our original place for the musical and Mrs Phillips starts us off.
The narrator began, "Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl named Cinderella. She had two ugly stepsisters who were very cruel to her."
Slow music from the violin began to play.
"Did you clean the kitchen?" Anastasia sang to Cinderella. Remember it was a musical.
"Yes, I did," Cinderella said.
"Did you polished my shoes?" I sang that part since I was Drizela.
"Yes, I did." Cinderella sang.
"Did you ironed my clothes?" Anastasia continued.
"Yes, I did."
"And...did you make breakfast?" I sang.
"The breakfast is ready."
The narrator continued, "The evil stepsisters made Cinderella did all the work."
~•~
The prince aka my best friend Clive said, "Let's try this girl."
Anastasia interrupted, "But that is not Cinderella."
I also interrupted, "She didn't go to the ball. It won't fit her!"
The narrator speaks, "Cinderella sat down and tried on the slipper."
The prince exclaimed but he was singing, "It fits."
Cinderella sang, "It fits."
Anastasia and I were surprised, "It fits?"
The prince smiled, "You are the one I have been looking for. What is your name?"
I could tell by the look on Clive's face that he was dying to get this musical over with so he can get away from Whitney.
"My name is Cinderella." She sings.
The narrator finished off by saying, "Later on, they got married since the prince found his princess and they lived happily ever after."
All of us gathered together and bowed. Thank God this was over.
Mrs Phillips clapped her hands, "That was excellent. Whitney, you are stumbling on your line. You need to practice. Costumes will be available on Thursday. You can go now."
Clive made his way over to me, "I was dying up there." He looked quite exhausted.
"I could tell, " I snickered.
Whitney stopped and was now talking to Clive, "Clive, right? Practice at my place tomorrow at 6," Then she left.
"Tell me this is over, " Clive felt slightly annoyed.
"Just a few more days from now and it will be. I have History. I'll see you at lunch, " I pat his upper back before I made my way to History class.
A day with me was okay? Right.
