Seven
Rolling over, I am greeted by bright rays flowing through the curtains of my window. I groan and cover my eyes, trying to shield them from the burning sunlight.
I must have slept in pretty late, since my room is so bright. It normally has a more dim setting.
I let out a soft gasp as the arm around my waist tightened, tugging me closer as my face hid in his chest. His intoxicating scent has filled my nose, and I push my face further into his chest so that I can continue to smell it. His other hand was tangled in my hair. I smile, removing it from my long locks.
As I place my hands on his toned stomach, a deep groan escapes his lips. I giggle, feeling his stomach tense up. Even though he was wearing a shirt, I could feel his perfectly carved abs. His fingers dug into my waist, and I let out a small yelp.
To be quite honest, muscular guys don't make me swoon. But for some reason, I've fallen for the way that Jay is.
Pulling back, I stare at his fair skin. His lip twitched, and I took this as a sign that he was still sleeping-- but it was a very light sleep. He could be woken up by the slightest thing.
One of my legs find there way between his, pressing up. "Uh," he groans, and I bite my lip to conceal any laughter.
"Jay," I whisper in his ear, causing him to twitch. His sleep-filled reactions are very odd. "Jay, wake up." My whispers fill his ear again.
Jay's breathing pattern changes, but his eyes remained closed. My hand lightly trails up to his chest, drawing patterns. His eyes finally flutter open, meeting mine.
A smirk forms on his face as he brings me into a hug. I hug back, but quickly push my palms on his chest.
"I can't breathe," I groan out.
"I can't breathe either," he speaks. "But it's because your beauty is astounding."
I claw his chest, causing him to jerk back immediately. His eyes widened, staring at me.
"I had to escape you somehow," I shrug.
Jay's hand finds his chest in attempts to rub the pain away.
"Sorry~"
"You're lucky that you're so cute," he answers, shaking his head slightly.
Ignoring his comment, I sit up in the bed. My slender hands meet my eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them. I felt refreshed, finally being able to have a good nights sleep. And laying next to Jay honestly made my slumber even more peaceful.
But then I realized that the apartment is very quiet. Sure, it usually is after one of us attends a party. But it's almost too quiet.
"Is Cassy not home?" I ask suddenly, looking at Jay.
He twitches, parting those thick lips.
"Yes," he said. "She is not home yet."
"You checked?" I ask, almost feeling uneasy.
"Well, I checked your phone. I didn't read through your messages, but you had no notifications from her." He explains. "And I never heard anyone come through the door last night."
"I didn't either, I am a light sleeper." I say back. "I would have woken up."
"Do you want to go look for her?" He asks, caressing my cheek with his large hands. "We can get something to eat, and I'll drive you anywhere.
"Thank you, Jay." I say sincerely. "But I am going to call her first, to make sure if she will pick up." His head nods, and I take out my cell phone.
Dialing her number, I send a call. The rings echo through my ear, taking longer each time. Jay watched intently as I sit in silence, hoping to hear a voice instead of meaningless rings. As they progressed, I grew more anxious.
If she doesn't answer, I will have no clues as to where to search for the girl. I'll have to rely on other people, since Cassy never told me which party she would be attending. I guess this is partially my fault, since I should have checked before she left.
But that is in the past, and there's nothing I can change. All I have left to do is find out where she is.
"She didn't pick up," I say while hanging up my phone. A look of disappointment was apparent in my voice.
"It's okay, Raina. We will find your friend." Jays lips meet mine, and I could tell that he was kissing me to send a form of comfort. I respond almost immediately, lightly sucking his lips.
"Let's go eat" I suggest, getting out of the bed. Jay follows closely behind, grabbing our jackets before we head out of the door.
_________
Jay's hands enclose tightly around the steering wheel. After we had finished eating, the two of us got into his car. We are now driving around, coming up with places to look.
"I'm going to call Mark," I state while tapping the screen of my phone. "He may know whoever hosted the party." Jay nods, keeping his eyes on the road.
After just two rings, Mark picked up.
"Hello, Raina."
"Mark, hi." I breathe, relived to have someone answer my call.
"Is everything okay?" He asks with concern. "You sound very worried."
"Well actually, I was wondering if you could help me," My teeth graze over my fingernails, anxiously biting them.
"Of course! What can I do?"
"Um, Cassy went to a party last night but she hasn't come back yet. It's been too long, and I can't reach her," I explain. "Do you know of any parties that were going on last night?"
There's a long pause, and I hear shuffling on the other end. Mark is probably thinking over my question.
"Mmm, I know of one. The host is one of my friends, and I could give his address to you," He answers finally, sending a wave of hope through my body.
"Thank you so much, Mark. This really means a lot."
"No need to thank," he says and I could hear the smile on his voice.
"My friend is called Yugyeom, and I'll tell you where he is living," Mark answers again.
I thank him once again, and with that we hang up. Mark texts me the address as promised, and I read it off to Jay who is still quietly driving. A look of recognition flashed over his features, so I assume he knows where this 'Yugyeom' lives.
After a few minutes we had reached the home. Although it was only a short amount of time, it felt like eternity. My hand shakily grabbed the car handle, attempting to open the door.
"I could have gotten that for you," Jay mutters, giving me a pout. I quickly peck his jutted out lip, and run up to the front door of the large house.
He stares at me in awe, but I was too busy swooning over this house. It was very modern looking, and there's a lot of windows. Trees scatter the landscape, and I appreciate that there are more plants than surrounding houses.
My hand knocks on the large, glass door.
"It looks like there was a lot of people here," Jay observes, scanning the lawn.
There were empty cans everywhere, and a few vehicles were still parked in the driveway.
I see a broad figure approaching the door, and I begin to fidget.
"Stop, Jay. He's coming," I state while fixing my hair. It wasn't to impress the boy, but to tend to my habit.
The door swiftly swung open, letting the boy come fully into view. His straight hair was dyed a light pink color, but it didn't take away from his manliness at all. In fact, the hair really suited his broad figure.
"Can I help you?" He tiredly questioned, trying to sound as polite as possible.
"Yes, are you Yugyeom?" I ask.
His sleepy eyes open more, starting into mine.
"Yeah, that is me," He states shifting the weight to one foot. We stare silently at each other for a few more moments.
He was very handsome.
A cough behind me broke our intense gaze, and his eyes shifted to the jealous boy named Jay.
"I'm Raina," I say with a sweet smile.
"And this is Jay," I finish off, gesturing to the guy behind me.
"Nice to meet you both," Yugyeom states, giving me one of his charm filled smiles.
"You can come inside, if you wish."
His body moves to the side, allowing enough space for us to come inside. We step into the modern home, and the smell of cleaning supplies takes over.
My gaze dashes across the room, taking in all of my surroundings. This home looks even bigger on the inside.
"Sorry for the scent, I've been cleaning up the place. I had a party last night and people can't pick up after themselves," he says with a cute tone of voice. His appearance may be intimidating at first, but once Yugyeom starts talking-- I can tell that he is a sweetheart.
"Doesn't matter," I answer, giving him a sincere smile. He grins back, irritating Jay.
"Alright, Raina" Jay speaks while tapping my shoulder. "Tell him why we have come."
"Oh, right. I'm looking for my friend," I explain.
I began describing how she looked like, giving him any details that might help him come to know who I am talking about. Yugyeom doesn't seem hungover, so he must not have been drinking too heavily last night. This betters my chances of knowing if Cassy was here or not.
"Hmm," he hums, and his eyes glaze over. He was deep in thought, lips beginning to purse. "She might have been here. You can check the spare bedrooms to see if she stayed over night." He answers, gesturing to the next hallway.
"Thank you so much!" I say, pulling him into a hug. Maybe it wasn't the best idea, but Yugyeom didn't seem to mind. His arms immediately wrap around my frame, returning the grateful gesture.
Jay and I trail over to the hallway, looking inside of each bedroom. But to my dismay, each room that we searched had been empty.
"Wait, there's one more," Jay explains, guiding me over to the final room. It was shut and locked, so his hand came up to knock.
"Yugyeom, I told you that I'll help you later," a masculine voice states while swinging the door open. We are greeted by another boy, staring at us in shock. "Oh, sorry..." he trails off.
"No, it is our fault," I blurt, rubbing my neck.
"I'm Junior," he states with a lopsided grin. I could tell that he had just woken up.
"Junior, have you seen a short girl that appears sweet, but is actually scary?" Jay asks, describing Cassy perfectly. I hold back a laugh at the accuracy.
"No..." he trails off again. "I don't think I've seen her," he states with a chuckle.
Disappointed, we say goodbye to Junior and find Yugyeom. Junior trotted after us, and came to speak up again.
"Did you check the basement?" He asked, pointing to a set of stairs that lead down. I shake my head, and he guides us down there.
We walk down the spiral staircase, finding a large pair of rooms. Sure enough, Cassy was sleeping soundly on the ground.
I had Jay carry her to the car, and we thanked the two boys again. I gave them both of my number so that we could stay in contact. Let's just say that Jay wasn't happy about that part.
On the ride home, Cassy woke up. She asked where we were going, ignoring the fact that she is oddly strapped in the back seat.
"Cassy, you had me worried sick." I sneer, pinching the bridge of my nose. Jay's large hand holds my thigh, silently telling me to calm down.
"What's that about?" She asks, gawking.
"What do you mean by that?" I ask, looking at her through the mirror.
"Are you two dating?" She asks, not even hiding the venom in her voice.
"No-"
"Yes," Jay cuts me off, winking.
"No." I state again, pulling his hand off of my leg.
"Ugh," she groans while laying back down. "I don't even want to know."
"So tell me," I start. "What exactly happened last night? Why didn't you come home?"
"Well, I had some drinks. And then I felt really tired, so I went to sleep," She explained, picking at her nail polish.
"That's it?" I ask in awe.
"Yeah, you know how heavy of a sleeper I am,"
She states, taking out her phone. "I probably have so many missed calls from people."
"You've got that right." I mutter, laying my head against the window.
I can't believe I got so upset over this. Cassy wasn't even troubled, but my nightmare told me otherwise. She's acting like it's no big deal-- like it's completely normal to sleep on the ground of a stranger's home.
This girl, really.
One of these days, her decisions will backfire.
_______
After all of the fuss with Cassy, Jay thought it would be a good idea to take me out. He said that it would 'relieve most of the stress', and I can't argue with him on that. I need something to get my mind off of everything for the time being.
"Where are we going?" I ask, watching the other cars zip by.
"Hmm," he hums, taking ahold of my hand. "Did you have some place in mind?" He asked, but the only thing on my mind was that both of his hands were not on the steering wheel.
"Um, not really," I couldn't take my eyes off of our connected hands.
"We'd make a good couple, don't you think?" He asks, glancing at me.
"Psh, maybe in your dreams," I retort.
"You shouldn't be saying things like that."
"Argh, you are the most indecisive person I have ever met," He states.
Even though he remained calm, I could tell how frustrated he was.
"Maybe I am," I admit with a frown.
"Let me show you how much I care," his husky voice requests. And in that moment, I'm glad that he was the one driving. Because if it were me-- the car would've crashed. His tone is so inviting, yet so devious at the same time. It is my favorite contradiction.
Trying to gain my composure, I fidget in my seat. "We don't need to a couple in order for you to show that."
His tongue clicks a few times, showing me that he does not approve of my answer.
"Do you like kissing in the car?" He asks, a smirk forming on his moist lips.
"What?" I nearly shout. "Why would you ask that?"
"Because I want to know what you like!" He exclaims as if it were the most obvious answer.
"I'm not going to answer you," I state while trying to conceal the blush that has creeped to my face.
"Just answer the question," he cooed, bringing my hand to his mouth. He kisses it multiple times, keeping his eyes locked on the road.
"Yes," I whisper. I was honestly hoping that he wouldn't hear my answer.
"Is that a 'yes' that I hear?" He asks tauntingly.
I nod my head, aware that he might not see it.
The car gracefully whips around, and Jay drives into another direction. Confusion sets in, and I narrow my eyes. Why did he suddenly change the route?
"I'm taking you to see the mountains," he states as if my mentally asked question was heard.
Once we reach the mountain, I stare in awe. Jay knows my love for sightseeing, and he takes it into consideration.
"Is this romantic?" He asks.
"What?" I ask, stifling a laugh.
"You heard me," he answers.
"Of course it is," I answer. "Any beautiful place can be romantic."
"Hmm," his deep voice hums in approval. Jay reaches over, undoing my seatbelt. I stare at him suspiciously.
He then lifts up the steering wheel, giving some more space. I can already see where this is going.
There is no one around, and Jay is in the mood.
Jay effortlessly lifts me out of the seat, placing my body on his lap. He pulls my legs apart so that I am now straddling him.
His teeth graze over his lip, biting it in a seductive manner. I stare at those fills lips, instantly craving for them to touch mine.
"You know," he says lowly while running his fingers up and down my thighs.
"If you ever want to kiss me, you don't even have to ask. Just do it, and I will respond to you." He explains, but I barely heard a word he said. I couldn't take my mind off of the way his heart sounded, pounding audibly.
My eyes flicker over to the window. I couldn't help but to admire the beautiful view. The way the sun rays peak through each tree, dipping around each mountain. But it wasn't nearly as breathtaking as the way the light hit Jay's pale skin. It glowed, absorbing the light. His brown eyes were darker, filled with determination.
But being in such a close proximity to him, it was the first time I noticed how muscular his broad shoulders actually were. The way his collar bones prominently curved across his chest were enough to make the desire to write a thousand words on their beauty. They peaked out through his scooped shirt, refusing to be concealed by the jacket he wore.
My gaze snuck up to his face again, raking over his features. A sparkle on his nose caught my attention. My fingers poke his nose, and a smile grows on his face; his eyes immediately lightening.
"When did you get this?" I ask cutely, referring to the stud in his nose.
His lips part as my fingers trail down to his neck. I trace his Adam's apple, moving down to the teasing collar bones. He shifts in the seat, moving his body up a bit. I ignore his movements, creeping down to his toned stomach. My fingers lightly touch it, drawing patterns. It is my turn to be a tease.
His deep voice comes out in a groan, causing my eyes to look into his.
His gaze was so intense that I almost felt threatened.
I started to wonder if he was angry by my actions. But before I could ponder this thought any further, I was yanked into a hungry kiss. I respond immediately.
My desperation didn't fail to surprise the both of us. The warmth of his mouth sent a fire to my stomach, and his lips were even softer than I remember.
His hands naughtily claw at my hips, causing small whimpers to escape my throat. It only ignited the fire in him, and he slipped those hands under my shirt; staying at my hips.
Jay's tongue slipped between my lips, exploring the inside of my mouth. My hands helplessly roam up to his head, tangling my fingers in his hair. His nails claw down my back, causing me to yelp once again. His hips buck in response, fingers pulling off my jacket. The way he whipped of my coat so effortlessly made the fear set in.
"Jay stop," I whine staring at my coat that was now in the backseat. When he saw the frown on my face, his expression immediately softened. The air was no long thick with anticipation, but rather a sense of guilt.
"I'm so sorry, Raina" He mumbled, scanning my face. "That was wrong."
"It's okay," I whisper back, to have his eyes search mine for a lie.
"That was wrong," he repeated with complete concern in his tone. "I shouldn't have taken things that far."
I feel my shirt being lifted up to my chest, a gasp coming from my lips. He was examining my hips, making sure that he didn't leave any marks.
Sighing, he placed me back into the passenger seat.
"Come on, I'll take you home now," He stated, pulling away from the scenery.
Maybe things went a bit far, but I couldn't help to wish that his lips were still on mine.
And this is when I realized that there is no way I can escape him. Jay Park has permanently become a part of my life, and I will never be able to stop myself from loving him-- no matter how badly he hurts me.
