"Remi could you try to welcome her into our home!" My dad yells

"This is our home, not hers! She has somewhere to live, so why invite her to live here when she's perfectly fine on her own!" I yell back

"Why can't you be happy for me!" He slams his hands on our dining room table

"She broke OUR one rule! Don't go touch anything that's Koa's, and what did she do?" I yell

My dad stays quiet,

"She goes into his room and she sits in his chair. Did you even tell her? Does she know those rules papa?" I ask

"I was going to tell her." He says putting his hands on his face

"When papa! When! Those rules are the first thing we tell everyone when they come over! Why is it different with her?" I exclaim

"It's time to move on Remi! Koa is gone, he's been for a month. Get over it!" He screams

I clench my jaw,

"I can't believe you can say that." I say standing up

I walk up the stairs to my room,

"R-Remi I didn't—"

"You did papa." I close my door,

I lay in Rain's bed on his chest and he twists my hair,

"I hate how my mom gave me this name." He complains

"You all have great names." I roll my eyes

"I wish I had a normal name, when do you ever meet a guy named Rain?" He asks

"Never, which is why your name is great." I laugh

"Shut up." He says

"Make me!" I laugh

Rain stops twisting my hair and reaches his arms down to my ribs and starts tickling me,

He flips over to be on top of me so he has a better grip,

"Rain stop!" I yell and laugh

He lays down on top of me, his hazel eyes pinning me down, he scans my face and smiles,

"May I?" He asked looking at my lips

I adore the Mortar's they were like the family I've always wanted, Rain was there for me the most when Koa died and he knew my pain cause Koa was like a brother to him, maybe Koa would've wanted this, but at the same time Koa would've hated the idea.

I swallow the ball in my throat and kiss his cheek,

"Remi!" I hear from downstairs

I slide out from underneath Rain,

"See you later Rain." I smile closing his door

I walk downstairs and see Sky rummaging through the fridge.

"Yunno Sky, now that we're starting rehearsals this week, you should start watching what you eat." I laugh

"Shut up Remi. You want a granola bar?" She asks tossing one at me

"I guess since you already tossed me one." I say opening the granola bar

She walks over and sits next to me,

"What were you doing upstairs?" She asks

"Taking to Rain."

"Sure, talking." She says sarcastically

"That's your brother Sky. I wouldn't do that to you." I laugh

Their front door opens to reveal Mr. and Mrs. Mortar ,

"Hi Carl, hi Mac." I smile

"Oh hey sweetie! How's your dad?" Mr. Mortar asks

"He's fine, I guess." I say

"Why that attitude for?" Mrs. Mortar asks

"His girlfriend broke the rules." I say

They went silent,

"Have you told him?" Mr. Mortar asks

"No, he was there. He saw her do that." I frown

"Oh honey." Mrs. Mortar says walking over and hugs me then let's go

"Well we were all about to head to Cheesecake Factory if you wanted to join." Mr. Mortar says

"I would hate to barge in on your dinner. You know me, I don't like intruding on your plans." I say

"Remi, I can tell you don't want to go home. Honey it's ok if you come with us, we don't mind." Mrs. Mortar says

"Alright, if you truly insist." I say

We drive around the parking lot and Mr. Mortar decided to just drop us off and we can get a table,

As busy as it looks outside, there wasn't that many people there. Then I saw him,

"Table for six please." Rain says

"Could I have a name for this?" He asks

"Remi!" Sky yells

"Sky shut up." I say strictly

"Remi?" He says with a smile on his face

I make eye contact with Andrew Cole Redley and he smiles at me,

"What." I sigh

"I can't say hi to a friend? Ok jeez, that's harsh." He laughs grabbing menus

"For your information—"

"Right this way." He says cutting me off

We all follow him to a booth and sit down,

"Oh fun, I'm your waiter for tonight too." Cole smiles and claps his hands

"You're impossible." I mumble and roll my eyes

"I'll make sure to spit on more than your food tonight, mon coeur." He whispers into my ear

My eyes widen and I look at him, he's pleased with himself. He winks and walks away,

"Remi!" Sky squeals

"That narcissistic assho—"

"Language Remi." Storm says

"Sorry Stormy." I sigh

"Bud out Storm." Sky says strictly

"Leave her alone, she's only eleven." Rain says

"Like you're any better Rain." Sky says with attitude

"Both of you shut up." I laugh

Mr. and Mrs. Mortar join us at the table,

"Thank god Remi is so mature. Both of you imbeciles can't go ten minutes with out bickering to each other." Mrs. Mortar says

"Stormy, honey, be more like Remi I beg you." Mr. Mortar pleads

"Yes daddy." She smiles,

My phone buzzes in my pocket and I look at it,

Dad is calling...

"Sorry, excuse me from the table, my dad is calling me." I say getting up and pushing in my chair

I walk to the corridor in front of the bathrooms and answer,

"Yes?" I say

"I have someone I'd like you to meet, Remi." My dad says on the other line

"Ok?"

"When do you think you're coming home?" He asks

"Don't know." I say

"Well I'd like you home soon when you're done with whatever, could you do that for me honey?" He asks politely

I sigh, I was still mad at my dad from earlier in the day,

"Yeah sure." I say

"Ok bye. I-I love you sweetie." He says

"Yeah me too dad. See you." I say ending the call.

I make it home and unlock the door, I see Zena, my dad, and a small little girl with braids in her hair,

"Welcome home honey." My dad says getting up

"Hey." I say hanging my bag over my shoulder

"Come sit down." My dad says

I sit down on a chair and look at the little girl who sits on the opposite side of me,

"I have things to do, can we make this quick please?" I ask playing with my necklace

"Well—"

"Your father and I are engaged, and my daughter and I are moving in." Zena smiles

I clench my jaw,

"And after a lot of negotiating, Kirsten, Zena's daughter, is t-taking—"

"She's taking your brothers room." Zena smiles

I clench my necklace and look at my dad who is scratching the back of his head,

"What?" I state

"I said, my daughter—"

"I fucking heard you, my answer is no." I stand up

"Language Remilee!" My Dad demands

"You don't have a say in this Remi." Zena says

I laugh,

"You cannot tell me what I can and can't do, only my mother, my father, and my older brother Koa, tell me that. You are none of those, and you never will be." I yell

"Remilee! Go to your room and think about what you said!" My dad yelled

I take a deep breath and laugh,

"I'm out of here, I don't care take my room. She can have it—" I pause

"Just leave Koa's room as it is. I'm packing my stuff, have fun." I say

I walk upstairs while my dad calls me by my full name,

I open my door and grab my dad's largest luggage bag, luckily I didn't have much clothes and shoes so it fit right in. I put my leopard in a back pack along with my other wallets, chargers, headphones, laptop, photo albums, and a framed picture of Koa and I. I roll up my blanket and put my pillow in the middle of it, I throw on my jacket and open my window, and set my stuff on the outside,

I walk to Koa's room and place my hand on the door,

"I love you Koa. I'll see you soon, I know you'll be watching over me. I miss you a lot and I wish you were here. I don't know exactly when I'll be back, but if you could, help me through this journey cause I don't know what I'm doing. I'll be going now, I love you." I kiss the door and walk back to my window and go out closing the window behind me,

I toss the luggage down and put my other backpack on, I climb down my tree and grab my luggage and start running, I don't know where to go, it's too late to bother Sky, thank god it's the weekend.
