"Hey wait up!" I yelled at Raven.We were currently searching for our companions,you know the pets that would choose us. Raven seemed really hooked to this,but my mind was on other things,my night with Ryan. Was it really just his excuse of going on a date with me? Psssh heck no he probably pitied me, I couldn't blame him i wasn't exactly the most 'social person'. Adam has been sending me smiles throughout the day and Catherine was giving me hardcore glares,I rolled my eyes at the thought. It wasn't my fault Ryan broke up with her,oh wait I forgot to mention, they weren't even dating.

"Keira hurry up I want my pet!" I snapped back to reality and tried to keep my distance with Raven gosh she was fast,she shape shifted into a cheetah and I was slower than a slug.

"Hey wait up!" I panted. "Not everyone has super speed!" When I finally caught up to her she was leaning on her legs and looking over at the pond. A pretty swan appeared. It had white and purple feathers and a gem on it's head.

"Omg I think that's supposed to be my pet!" Raven squealed. The swan slowly made it's way over to her and touched her outstretched hand with it's head,then it leaped out of the water and stood beside Raven.

"Wow it's so cute!" I exclaimed. I swallowed my sadness as I remembered that all the animals had avoided me,geez people don't like me animals don't like me,I wonder what the heck am I?

Raven brushed some of her dark hair from her face and petted her swan. "What should I name her?"

I had no idea what to name a magical swan. "Ugh.. I have no idea."

"Hmm what about Violet?" I nodded as Raven smiled.
"There there Violet I'm gonna be a good owner, and I'll help you to find your special ability soon."

Our pets all had a special ability and we would have to help them to gain this ability.

"Ow!" I screeched something scratched at my foot something sharp,oh great just what I needed to make me feel better.

"ARF!" I heard along with panting. I turned around to see a cute little puppy. I guessed that it was half shiatsu half poodle. It had spotless white fur and a cute little button nose.

"Hey there." I said as I knelt down to the puppy's level. I used my hand to ruffle it's fur. "I'm gonna call you Lily!"

The day had gone by in a blur we had no scheduled classes today to my relief. I ran into my mom on a few occasions and she would always pat my back and wish me the best of luck. Talk about over-dramatic I saw her everyday, she acted like it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

As for Annabelle and Raven their pets Violet the swan and Winter a snow white fox occupied all their time they would be busy all night bonding with them.

I had gotten Lily a cute green pendant similar to the necklace I wore with her initials on it. I didn't know what her special ability was yet, but she was really clumsy just like me.

I was just finishing combing my hair while I stood in front of the full length mirror. I had been really anxious for our date, I mean 'non-date...'

I was wearing a short sundress with different patterns. I was wearing some wedge heels and my hair was combed with the back down an a bow in the center. I didn't really wear makeup but I decided to act a bit of red lipstick and light eye shadow, courtesy of Annabelle of course.

I had asked them to watch Lily for me while I went out for the night.

When we said our goodbyes I looked our dorm door and headed down the hallway. Where was I supposed to meet Ryan? He didn't make it clear to me before.

As soon as I got a little impatient and I was about to walk off someone frightened me.

"Boo!" I screamed to see a laughing Ryan behind me.

My face immediately flushed." Are you crazy!? What if you gave me a heart attack! "

He chuckled a bit more "Well there would be more blood for me." He licked his lips. "Oh sweet wonderful blood, if only a certain witch would offer me some."

I rolled my eyes."OK shall we go for the milkshakes Now?"

He raised his eyebrow "What milkshake?"

"The one that you promised me.."
"Oh that well you see... I lied."

"What!? Ryan is this some kinda joke?"

He laughed then grabbed my hand "Nope, I'm pretty serious right now."

We started out to wherever the heck we were going. Walking through the dark forest ,holding hands.... yeah It felt weird at first,but Ryan said that he didn't want me to get 'lost.' Whatever that meant.

He cleared his throat "So Keira why don't we get to know each other a bit more. I'll ask you a question then you can ask me one." I nodded.

"Keira do you have any siblings?"

"No I actually don't. What about you?"
He gulped "Uh noooo."

I raised an eyebrow"Ryan it's OK you can trust me."

"Why should I trust you?"

I signed "I don't know.... But I trust you and I know that you would never hurt me."

He looked at me with sadness evident in his eyes."I do have a brother,his name is Bryan but he's with my mother."

"Oh that's not so bad.. So where is your mom."

He nearly chocked "Prison..."

"Prison!? Why?"

"It's a long story that I don't want to get into Keira. Let's just focus ok?"

I nodded my head although I was still curious I kept my mouth shut.

"We are almost there."

Another 5 minutes or so of walking we stopped at the bottom of a hill.

"After you Keira."
"Wait so we just walked for 45 minutes now we are going to walk up a hill!?"

"Pretty much. Why don't you get some exercise, I think you need it." He choked back a laugh.

"Shut up Ryan not everyone can have such a 'good' body like you." I said putting air quotes around the word 'good.'

"Wow so you think I have a good body now?" He asked obviously amused.

"It was sarcasm idiot."" Last one there has to do the other's laundry for a week!"

I ran up as quickly as I could I didn't want to do anything fairly with that jerk.

"Keira stop!"

"Heck no I'm not doing your laundry,who knows if you have blood all over them?"

I finally reached the top of the hill."Haha! Sucker!"

Ryan was laughing,he was actually laughing,what? Was doing my laundry funny.

"Stop laughing!!"
He clutched his stomach. "Keira I was just joking."

My emotion changed from confusion to anger
"Damn! Ryan what the hell is wrong with you do you think it's funny to play pranks on people!"

He stopped laughing "Geez Keira lighten up I was just playing around."

I ran to the bottom of the hill and turned in the opposite direction.

"Hey where are you going."

"Wherever the hell i want."

He ran after me "You don't know how the forest route works."

"Yeah because I'm not aware that animals and trees are in forest." I replied in a bored tone.

"Hey watch where your going!" He shouted.

I ignored him did he really think that I was going to fall for that.

"Ow!" I shouted as I bumped into something hard.

"What the Heck!?" I screamed as I banged my fist against thin air.

"A little bit too hungry or we?"I heard an unfamiliar voice say.

I turned around to come face to face with a man in his late 50's or early 60's  who was dressed in a Butler suit.

He turned to Ryan "Table for 2 I presume Sir.Glacior. "

He nodded "Yes that would be great Caspian."

I looked puzzled but with the snap of a finger a table and two chairs appeared.

The table was decorated with many different flowers,most of which were  my favourites. The table was covered with Fine,silky, cream-coloured cloth and various embroideries of animals and plants.

Ryan pulled out a chair for me "After you Ms.Nightingale. "

I sat down giving him a 'What the Heck just happened ' look.

He pulled out his chair and sat across from me tracing the embroidery of a lion with his finger.

"How did you know that these flowers were my favorite? "

He smiled "It is my duty as a gentleman to please his lady is it not?"

OK something was wrong,  Whatever happened to  the cocky Ryan that I knew.

"Uh....."

"Ahem."I turned my head to Caspian he was standing behind the table with a menu.

"What will you kids have?Personally I would recommend the spaghetti...If you know what I mean."

Ryan smirked "Why of course..."

"Um no thank you!"I interjected how about soup instead?"

He frowned "But I don't like soup Keira."

"I'll have soup you can have whatever the heck you want."

He frowned "Fine!"

After dinner Ryan and I decided to stop at the boardwalk ,it was getting pretty late and we had to make it back before curfew.

I stared at the vast ocean feeling shivers run down my spine.

It was very chilly.

"You cold?" I heard Ryan say.

I nodded my head. I bet you guys were expecting something cliche,the guy takes off his jacket and gives the girl.Problem is,Ryan didn't have a jacket he was only wearing a shirt.

He smirked "Do you want my shirt?"

I shook my head furiously"No save it we both know it's just an excuse for you to be shirtless."

He grinned "You're catching on Keira."

I shivered even more."Uh Ryan how the heck are you not cold?"

He shrugged "It's hard for me to get cold,my blood circulates faster in temperature changes,therefore I become warm."

I sighed "Well that doesn't work for me,so do you mind if we get going,it's pretty late."

"But its such a long walk back to school..."

"Well you should have thought of that before genius."

He sighed "Where is your house?"

"My house?"

He nodded.

"It's about a mile and a half from here....Wait how did you know about my house?"

"He grabbed my hand no time for chit-chat let's get going."

"But what about curfew?"

"Just tell your mom that you decided to sleep at your house for the night."

I sighed as Ryan pulled me along.This was going to be a long night,and I already knew that I regretted most of it...
