IRIS KINGSLEY was just a shell of a human being. Antisocial and confident. Calculated and focused. Veins filled to the brink with nicotine, tar, and black coffee. She made no wrong moves and had a steady schedule. She wasn't going to let anyone get in the way of what she was going to do. No boss, friend, or foe could deter her. Iris was alone and that was okay.

She was pretty sure there was no one like her in the Detroit PD. This was probably why every boss of hers seemed to quit — she didn't mix with them well. To be fair, she really didn't mix with anyone. But then, the department hires Detective Dick Grayson, and Iris thinks she's finally found someone at least partly similar to her. It was astounding — truly.

Iris wants nothing to do with him, though. She's perfect with staying in her lane, remaining separate from him, even when he tries to make an effort to socialize and include her, but Iris doesn't need him. She doesn't like him. He's too cocky and frankly, she doesn't like that her boss asked her to refer to him as, Dick. She hoped he'd leave by the end of the year.

And then, something astronomical occurs. In a world where Iris Kingsley's life is planned out to the absolute second, the unexpected happens, and Dick Grayson is suddenly the only person she trusts. It was time to let the bad blood dry.

I mean, who else are you supposed to call when you're given an ancient relic necklace and your hands start to LIGHT UP?

half of this plot is actually taken from an old steve rogers fic I was gonna write (TRUE O.G.S REMEMBER DANA), but I got bored with it and I was never gonna actually write it 😪 anyways, most of THAT story was also based on a very old oc I made in high school that was shipped with steve rogers, but whatever. the point to all of this is that I guess my past always comes back to haunt me and I need to stop reusing old ideas. iris is still my girl tho 🥰🥰🥰
