"Um, hello?"
[ shuffled noises as well as the sound of singing from the tv ]

"Crap, I didn't think this through."
[ laughs lightly, running his hand through his hair nervously ]

"It's... okay."
[ moves around in her spot before finally getting up to leave the room ]

"Yo, where ya going Rain?"
"Who's on the phone?"

"Just someone. I'll be back soon."
[ has left the room and is walking to the kitchen ]

"You're having that movie night aren't you? Shit,"
[ grumbles quietly ]

"Nah it's good,"
[ clears throat ]

"..."

[ sighs ]
"Why are you calling me, Tom?"
[ sounds tired and slightly irritated with mulan playing in the background ]

"I was going to attempt to say sorry for the article... about us..."
[ nervously chuckles ]

"There's nothing to apologize for. It's just a stupid article."
[ says bitterly as she sips her beer ]
"A fucking stupid article."

"Doesn't sound like it's just an article to you."
[ shifts in his bed, moving the phone to the other ear ]
"I know we aren't exactly close... but you can always talk to me."

"Rainbow! Mulan just ran away from home!"

"That's fucking great, Jamie."
[ grumbles as rubs her eyes in a frustrated manner before taking a deep breath in and out ]
"As tempting as that sounds, Tom, I'd rather not pour my heart out right now."
[ takes a large gulp of her beer ]

"It's cool, that's fine."
[ chuckles quietly, attempting to lighten up the mood by mocking her voice from the other day ]
"We aren't level 6 friends yet."

[ grins ever so slightly and snickers as she removes the bottle from her lips ]
"Precisely, Thomas."

[ feels himself smile lightly ]
"..."

"..."

"For fucks sake, Rainbow c'mon! It's getting good!"
"Yeah, Mulan and Shang just met!"

"I'll be there in a minute!"
[ mumbles under her breath ]
"Annoying fucks...."

[ laughs softly, promptly covering his hand over his mouth to stiffle his laugher before clearing his throat ]
"So... you're watching Disney?"

"Jamie, Mel, Ella and Becca voted for it while Michael and I wanted something more action packed. But it's still cool."
[ lightly chuckles ]
"But listen, if I don't go I think they'll skin me and use me as a carpet."

"Nah it's fine,"
[ shifts on his back ]
"Mulan is an amazing movie. Wouldn't want to miss the badassery of her."
[ laughs softly ]

"Yeah,"
[ feels a small grin on her lips ]
"I'll talk to you soon, Tom."

"One would hope, Rainbow."
[ grins ]
