FADE IN:

INT. RESTAURANT – AFTERNOON

HYUN JIN: I'm her date.

Y/n's eyes widen – Says who?

Chang Bin stares at Hyun Jin with a scorn.

CHANG BIN: Stop lying.

HYUN JIN: I'm not. Who are you, anyways?

He glances at Y/n who's busy trying to wrap her head around what's happening.

HYUN JIN: Do you know him?

Y/n, unaware of what he asked, points to herself – What? Me? Your date?

HYUN JIN: Y/n?

Y/n flinches as she hears her phone BUZZ! She retrieves it, checking the notification – Holy!

It's MOM.

Y/N: Excuse me.

Hyun Jin looks at Chang Bin, trying to get the answer to his question. Chang Bin smiles, not believing a word he's spoken so far.

Y/n reads the text: He's on our team. You needed a reason to be here and now you have it, just go with what he says.

Y/N: Oh.

She shoves her phone back into her pocket, and looks at Hyun Jin, a tiny smile.

Y/N: He's right. He's my...my date.

Her smile grows, now a little shy as if this is true. Chang Bin's amazed.

CHANG BIN: Wah...You leave work for this...Wow! What a professional you are.

Now disgusted, he stands.

CHANG BIN: Wow. Like wow. Mind blown.

Y/n, least bothered with what he has to say, is busy admiring Hyun Jin.

CHANG BIN: I'm out of here.

HYUNG JIN: Huh? Wha-

Chang Bin exits the restaurant. Hyun Jin looks back at Y/n, who's still in a daze.

HYUNG JIN: Hello?

Y/n still hasn't snapped back into reality. I.N bumps into Y/n's table, almost dropping the contents of the tray he's holding. Maybe he did so purposely.

I.N: I'm so sorry.

Y/N: No. It's fine.

I.N bows, moving away, thanks to him she's no longer in a daze.

HYUN JIN: You didn't know you were being followed; you should be more careful.

Y/N: Ugh...yeah.

He takes his seat, Y/n's smile wavers.

Y/N: Are you-

HYUN JIN: No.

Y/n's eyebrows raise.

HYUN JIN: I work for the person you text. You only speak to me about your findings.

Y/n nods – Lucky me.

Y/N: Got it.

HYUN JIN: If you want to meet, send a message and I'll be here.

Y/n nods.

HYUN JIN: We should order.

He places his hand on hers.

Y/N: W-What? What are-

HYUN JIN: He's still watching.

Y/n looks out the window, her gaze falling on Chang Bin, casually walking to his car still keeping an eye on her.

Y/N [MUTTERS]: Maybe it's me who'll end up killing him.

HYUN JIN: What?

She shakes her head, smiling at him.

CUT TO:

INT. LEE KNOW'S OFFICE – DAY

Lee Know is at his desk, tapping into his laptop. He looks up hearing Chang Bin barge in, with a frown on his face.

LEE KNOW: You're here to tell me I was right?

Chang Bin, scoffs plopping down on the chair opposite Lee Know.

LEE KNOW: I told you she'll go visit her parents.

CHANG BIN: But you don't know where she went after.

Lee Know raises his brows.

CHANG BIN: She went on a date.

LEE KNOW: Of course, she went on a date. She's 19.

CHANG BIN: Does it make senses she's dating, when her life's on the line?

LEE KNOW: People are allowed to have a life outside of work. Anyways, we're only using her to help Bang Chan make this gang-

He stops himself, what has he done?

CHANGBIN: Make this gang what?

LEE KNOW: More powerful. What else?

Chang Bin nods.

CHANG BIN: Well, everyone thinks he's a rookie who can't get things done, that he has to prove himself.

BANG CHAN: Do you think the same?

Chang Bin flinches, gasping for his life. Bang Chan, seated on the couch behind, shuts the file in his hand.

CHANG BIN: You were here?! Why didn't you make a sound you jerk?!

Bang Chan stands.

BANG CHAN: Send Y/n to my office.

LEE KNOW: I'm not your assistant-I'll let her know.

BANG CHAN: Thank you.

Chang Bin's gaze follows him out the office, Lee Know smiles, enjoying Chang Bin's embarrassment.

CHANG BIN: I'm going to kill you.

LEE KNOW: Try me.

CUT TO:

INT. CORRIDOR – JBG HEADQUATERS – EVENING

Y/n feels very conscious, with everyone's judgmental gaze fixed on her. She stares down at her marching feet.

LEE KNOW: Did you get the message?

Y/n looks up and finds Lee Know tapping away on his phone.

Y/N: Yes, I heard the servers won't be up and working till tomorrow afternoon.

Lee Know nods.

LEE KNOW: You're needed in Bang Chan's office.

Y/n's stomach drops to the core of the Earth.

Y/N: Why?

LEE KNOW: You'll have to go there to find out.

Y/N: Right.

Unexpectedly, Lee Know pulls her down, helping her dodge an incoming egg. Y/n's petrified. He finds the culprit, a teenager, scurrying away.

LEE KNOW [YELLS]: You're cleaning that up yourself.

TEENAGER: I'm sorry sir.

Y/n still hasn't processed what's happened.

LEE KNOW: Sorry, they're kids.

Y/N: No.

She straightens.

Y/N: Thank you.

Lee Know walks away.

Y/N: God, I thought someone was going to kill me.

CUT TO:

INT. BANG CHAN'S OFFICE – LATE EVENING

A knock on the door before Y/n enters. No one's inside.

Y/N: Where did he go?

She walks up to his desk and stands, waiting for his arrival, thinking it would actually be better if he didn't.

Y/N: Minister?

Her head tilts reading the upside-down print on a paper, poking out of a file.

Y/N: What about him?

She leans forward, slowly opening the file, a list of phone numbers.

Y/N: Ah, he's tracking down his contact-

She realizes something, but what she misses is the door opening.

Y/N: These are codes, 23467, what was it again, (deciphers the code) M...O...N...E...Y. Wow-

BANG CHAN: Money?

Y/n clasps her mouth to muffle her scream. She turns and bows.

Y/N: I wasn't reading that.

Bang Chan isn't bothered by it. Y/n straightens.

BANG CHAN: They're codes?

He strides to his desk.

Y/N: Huh?

BANG CHAN: Do you know what it means?

Y/n lost – He's not mad?

Y/N: Yes. You call a certain number to relay a numerical message.

BANG CHAN: You can crack this?

Y/N: Yes.

Bang Chan hands her the file.

BANG CHAN: Thank you.

Okay – She grips the file. Bang Chan sits on his chair.

BANG CHAN: You'll have to work in your room, till your office is ready.

Y/N: My office?

BANG CHAN: The office down the corridor that's being cleaned, it's yours.

Y/N: What? Why?

BANG CHAN: It's my father's doing.

Y/n: I don't get it.

BBRATT-A-TAT-ATAT BBRRTT! Bang Chan's eyebrows raise. Gun shots?

Y/N: What's going on?

BANG CHAN: Stay here.

He races out of his office. Y/n doesn't really know what to do.

CUT TO:

INT. LOBBY – JBG HQ – LATE EVENING

Shots are being fired. Bang Chan finds Lee Know taking cover by the elevator. Han reaches them, panting. Elite fighters of the gang surround them, protecting them from all directions.

HAN [TO BANG CHAN]: You can't be here!

LEE KNOW: You need to get out!

Bang Chan pulls out his semiautomatic and fires a single shot. The intruder falls dead.

LEE KNOW: Since when could you shoot like that?

HAN: When did you even get the gun?

BANG CHAN: Find out who he is.

He holsters his gun, walking away.

CUT TO:

INT. CAFÉ – NIGHT

Jae Myung's on his phone, watching the news about the death of the mastermind behind many mass shootings. It's the intruder who broke into JBG. He sighs as Seung Min and I.N settle at his table.

SEUNG MIN: Sir. He was at JBG.

JAE MYUNG: Did the police find their headquarters?

I.N: No. The body was found dumped near an old soap factory.

Jae Myung shakes his head.

SEUNG MIN: I think we should send back up; we can't afford to lose access-

JAE MYUNG: We can't. It's too dangerous.

I.N: We know we're rookies sir, but I think you should send us to JBG. We have to collect the evidence befor-

JAE MYUNG: It's too dangerous. I'm not throwing my agents under the bus. The informant will do their job.

SEUNG MIN: But sir-

JAE MYUNG: My answer stays the same.

Seung Min sighs.

SEUNG MIN: Yes, sir.

CUT TO:

INT. MEETING ROOM – NIGHT

Bang Chan, Y/n, Lee Know, Han, Chang Bin and Jun Ho are gathered in the meeting room. The air is tense.

LEE KNOW: Those hurt aren't severely injured.

BANG CHAN: How many?

LEE KNOW: 12.

BANG CHAN: And how many deaths?

LEE KNOW: None.

JUN HO: There are only two explanations, he works for the Russian gang or is from NIO.

Y/N: A trained sniper from NIO? But they wouldn't sanction mass shootings. It hurts them back.

JUN HO: This is like 2018.

Y/n glances at everyone, the air in the room has changed to uneasy at the mention of 2018.

Y/N: This happened before?

HAN: A Russian gang, started dominating some of our territories. They raided some of our businesses, kidnapped and tortured our members.

Y/N: Why?

No one has an answer.

CHANG BIN: It's them again.

He holds his tab up, the image of the shooters back, the tattoo of a tulip on his left shoulder.

HAN: That's their tattoo.

Y/n looks at Bang Chan, restless.

LEE KNOW: They found our HQ but sent only a lone attacker.

BANG CHAN: It's a warning.

Y/N: There will be more?

She starts to panic.

LEE KNOW: We've never been able to find them, what are the chances we will now?

BANG CHAN: Evacuate the headquarters, we can't have this happen again. I can't afford to lose anyone again. AND, I want to know how the hell did they find out about this place.

He looks at Y/n.

BANG CHAN: Stay out of this.

Y/n looks at him – Lose anyone again?

She turns to Lee Know and Han for answers, but along with Chang Bin, they hastily follow Bang Chan out the room.

Y/N: What did he mean by, lose anyone again?

Jun Ho looks at her, somberly.

JUN HO: The Russians didn't stop at Kidnapping and torture.

Y/N: Oh.

JUN HO: They killed our former boss... Bang Chan's mother.

Y/n's flabbergasted.

JUN HO: You should listen to him and stay out of this, it's too dangerous.

He walks out. She stares down at her tab, still processing.

CUT TO:

INT. BANG CHAN'S OFFICE – NIGHT

Bang Chan, restlessly paces around the office, trying his best to suppress the images from the past.

BANG CHAN: Focus. What would dad do? Think.

The door is pushed open. Y/n steps in.

BANG CHAN: You should've gone back home. You're not working on this.

Y/N: About that...

She closes the door behind her.

Y/N: I heard about...

Bang Chan's shoulders drop - I don't have time for this.

Y/N: I found them.

BANG CHAN: What?

Y/N: I found the Russians.
