Untitled Part 5
I don't own Naruto.
He looked over at the woman across the courtroom from him, the younger blonde man not knowing why he was truly there, but he was holding her hand for moral support. He scoffed internally and rolled his eyes. The poor man had no idea what insanity he had gotten himself in. He looked down at the pictures before him and swallowed softly. His bike had been utterly destroyed because of her actions. It was in pieces and the pictures brought that burn back to him once more.
He reached up and rubbed his shoulder softly, hoping the scraping feeling would go away. He wished Hinata could be here, but she was sleeping for work and had no idea he was even suffering in court already. It had been three days since he had last seen her and he was feeling miserable inside, ornery even. Tobirama looked up to the seat beside the judge and knew that Mei had made a mistake bringing Madara onto the stand as her witness, it was going to backfire substantially for her, and she didn't even realize it yet.
The man looked over to him and made this known with his eyes alone. He knew this was all a farce and that Mei had nothing against him. She wasn't injured in the crash as far as any of them knew but he was and that was the issue at hand. "Mr. Senju, do you have any paperwork or images confirming that you were the only one injured?" the judge asked, and he nodded as he handed the court officer both pictures and medical assessments from the Emts that processed him on scene.
The officer handed all of these things to the judge and the judge peered over the rim of his glasses at them. There were pictures of his injuries in there and pictures of her proving there were no physical injuries. The judge then scanned over the occupants of the room. He sighed and looked towards Madara. "And you can give an account of the things that occurred that night?" he asked and Madara nodded. Madara opened his mouth to speak, but Mei called out to the judge. "Your honor, I don't think his input will be necessary. I think he is just going to add bias to the court." she said and Tobirama rolled his eyes.
Of course, Madara's testimony was going to add bias, because she had cheated on him with the man. "That may be, but I still desire to hear his input." the judge said, and Mei sighed as her shoulders slumped. Madara reached into the file before him and offered a stack of police reports to the judge as well as prior court rulings determining them not at fault. He also dug around deeper into the file and pulled out copies of text messages that referred to Mei telling him she was going to crash that stupid bike one day.
The judge read these texts aloud and Mei seemed to be panicking in her place. "So... I see you have plotted on crashing the bike before, and so you fully had the intent to do so when the crash happened. Mr. Uchiha, can you recount that night for me?" the judge asked and Madara nodded. "Your honor, that night I had been intimate with Ms. Terumi, and she left my house in a panic. She knew that her boyfriend, the defendant, was going to be upset with her when he found out. The next thing I know I'm getting a call from her saying she had been in a wreck and that she was on the way to the hospital." he said, and the judge listened intently as he continued to share his side of the story.
"I admit I had no interest in meeting her at the hospital, because I had already figured out what happened when she said she was going to break things off with him on the way home. I had no desire to get in the middle of this mess until now." Madara sighed and the judge raised a brow. "What changed, might I ask?" the judge inquired, and he sighed once more. "Well, seeing as she has been stirring up trouble for my friends and I for years. I can't stand by and allow this to keep happening." Madara said and Mei sneered at him and opened her mouth to refute his statement, but the judge shot her a look, silencing her.
"You'll get your turn Ms. Terumi, please be patient." he said, and she nodded. Tobirama was amused with the whole situation, it seemed that the judge was already more inclined to listen to them rather than her. After Madara had finished his testimony, he nodded to the judge and stepped down from the seat beside the judge. He made his way to Tobirama's side and sat down, nodding to him in reassurance.
"Alright Ms. Terumi, please give me your evidence of the injuries you sustained." he said, and she nodded. She offered her paperwork to the court officer. The officer handed the paperwork to the judge and his eyebrows shot up into his hairline. "Madam, Might I ask why you waited so long to file against him? You do realize if you had waited any longer there was nothing you could do." he sighed, and she nodded. "I thought I was willing to forgive him for the crash, but I recently found out some news that are life changing because it left me permanently scarred." she said, and the judge nodded.
"I see... well I must say I think I am ready to discuss with him the contents of your paperwork here." the judge said, and Mei nodded. A slight panic coursed through Tobirama's body then, he couldn't understand what could possibly have happened to have the judge seem so concerned with her just then. He had thought the judge was completely on his side up until this point. He looked over to Mei and her eyes were saddened. Was there something she hadn't told him?
"Mr. Senju, as a result of the crash, Mei had permanently lost the ability to have children and she lost your child that night, were you aware of this?" he asked, and his eyes softened as he looked over to her. Naruto had his hand gripping hers gently and tears were streaking down over her cheeks. He felt sorry for her, and for the loss of their child. If he had known, perhaps he would have been less harsh to her all this time. However, her pulling the brakes was what caused this whole thing to happen, so he knew it wasn't his fault. "Is there anything you would like to say to her?" the judge asked and Tobirama nodded.
"I'm sorry about the loss of our child... I'm so sorry there was nothing I could have done to prevent that." he sighed and both Mei and the judge looked at him in shock. He was truly sympathetic towards her, but he was also not to blame for the crash. He couldn't accept the blame for something he did not cause, no matter how bad he felt for the loss of their child. "Mr. Senju, might you explain what you mean by that?" the judge asked, and he nodded.
He took a small breath and folded his hands in front of him. "Your honor, the crash would have never happened had she not slammed the brakes while I was driving." he explained softly, and the judge furrowed his brows. He might seem calm and collected, but he was in pain inside. He had never known she was pregnant. If he had known, he would never have picked her up on the bike. He was partially to blame, because if he had known he would have done everything in his power to protect her, even though when they crashed, he had already tried to protect her but failed to do so successfully.
He could blame himself for this for the rest of his life, but he would never accept defeat for something he didn't cause. "Ms. Terumi, do you have anything to say to this?" the judge asked. "Yes, I will admit I did hit the brakes, but he was driving, he should have been able to protect us from a situation in which this had happened." she said confidently, and he watched as Naruto's hand removed itself from hers and he stood and left the court room. That told the judge everything he needed to know about what kind of person she was.
"Madam. I'm afraid I have to disagree." he said as he held up the pictures of Tobirama's torn open back and side. The profusely bleeding wounds shining in the photograph. He had ensured the Medics had taken pictures of his wounds for insurance purposes. Who knew they would come in handy against the woman responsible. The judge seemed appalled by the pictures just as he had been when he had first looked them over.
Tobirama could hardly believe it when the judge made his verdict on the case. "I am siding with the defendant in this case, due to the clear disregard for the fact she could have taken his life and he still did everything in his power to protect you, Ms. Terumi. I apologize for your loss, but I cannot in good conscience side with you knowing that you hit the brakes deliberately. You are hereby ordered to pay twice your asking price in damages to Mr. Senju, because you very well could have killed him that night. And if you refuse it turns into a court case for attempted murder." He said and knocked his gavel once.
Mei was staring at the judge in shock while he was staring at her in sadness. He didn't want her money, even though he knew she had whatever price the court had set. When the court had been dismissed, he and Madara were standing outside the courtroom talking when Mei stormed over to him and slammed a flat palm against his chest, only to walk away. A small rectangle of paper fluttered down from where she had slammed her hand against his chest, and he furrowed his brows as he caught it.
He looked at it and his eyes widened. Madara leaned and peeked at the paper only to choke and curse under his breath. "Allow me to apologize for her behavior. My client is a little angry at the moment. That is a check for everything the judge ordered her to pay. I hope it suffices." he said as he turned to walk away. Tobirama reached out to the man, but Madara grabbed his arm and shook his head. "There's no need to give it back. I'm sure they would have taken you for everything you owned, so don't feel bad. Just remember this is double what she wanted you to pay." Madara sighed and Tobirama sighed.
"She's also a vindictive bitch so I know she will find some other way to get money out of you. So why not enjoy putting her through it. She will be pissed when she sees that much just vanish from her account." Madara said and Tobirama shrugged. He didn't want to be the vindictive one, and that was what this felt like it was. He sighed and slipped the check into his wallet. He was going to take it to the bank as soon as he left the building. With Madara as his guard he would be just fine.
However, he already had plans for what the money could be used on.
He and Madara cashed the check as soon as they were given the ok to do so by the judge, seeing for himself that the money had been paid in full. The moment it hit his account he took Madara to the dealership with him. "So, what are we doing here? You going to get another bike on her dime?" Madara asked in amusement, and Tobirama nodded. Which caught him off guard. "Seriously?" Madara asked and Tobirama nodded.
He led Madara over to the training bikes and was looking for the specific bike that Hinata had ridden, but it wasn't there. "Looking for the lavender Ninja?" the manager asked, and he nodded. "A young lady is buying it right now, I'm sorry." he said, and he jerked his head over to the young woman at the register decked out in lavender and black full leather gear and a lavender helmet. He made his way over to the woman to try and convince her not to buy the bike but the moment she turned to him and slipped up his visor he knew there was no reasoning with her.
A smirk crossed his lips, and he leaned in close to her. "I see you've been busy since I last saw you." he said, and she laughed beneath her helmet. "Tobirama what are you doing stop flirting!" Madara snapped and he turned towards Madara with an unamused glance, although the woman removed her helmet and smiled at Tobirama and Madara. "Good to know you ensure he doesn't play around with anyone but me." she mused and Madara blushed.
"But of course, Hinata." he said, and she smiled at him. Tobirama shot Madara a look and the man nodded before dragging Hinata away from the counter. Her protests could be heard through the store and the manager stared at them oddly, but Tobirama only offered an embarrassed smile to the man. "I would like to pay for the bike but leave it in her name." he said and the manager nodded. "So, you were going to buy it for her all along?" the manager asked in amusement, and he nodded.
"Yeah, it was my plan the moment I saw her ride it. She handles herself very well for never having ridden one by herself before." he said, and the manager nodded. "She's got natural talent for it." he said, and Tobirama looked back to see Hinata making her way back over to him with irritation on her features. "Why are you so insistent on keeping me away from the bike, do you not want me to get it?" she asked softly, and he frowned at her.
"That's so far from what this is, that you have no idea." he sighed and rubbed the back of his neck with a sigh. "I just didn't know how you would react to me doing this..." he said, and she furrowed her brows as she watched him. "You were trying to buy the bike? But you already have one." she muttered softly, and he sighed once more. He hoped she wasn't getting irritated with him once more because all he wanted to do was make her smile.
"It's not that... I was just coming to get it for you." he said, and she offered a soft smile at him. "You don't have to do that..." she said, and he handed her the bill of sale and the title to her bike. "But I did." he said, and she looked up at him with soft eyes. She was silent for a moment but then her arms wrapped around him, and she buried her face in his chest. A sigh of relief escaped him, and he leaned down and kissed the top of her head. He was thrilled that she wasn't upset, although he wasn't going to show it.
It had been a long day and an even longer week.
:-:-:-:
Hinata knew how this was going to go down the moment her father saw the death trap she was riding on. She knew he would be pissed but she was a grown woman. Luckily, she had never promised him she wouldn't get one, because she had always loved bikes. She looked over to the two women who had accompanied her to the shop and a smirk crossed her lips as they hopped out of Izuna's car and followed her in. Sakura was here under guise of getting her and Ino some new riding gear, so Izuna was going to leave and come back later. But this wasn't what that was at all.
Hinata kicked down the kick stand and leaned her bike to set it down, grabbing the keys out of the engine and shoving them in her pocket. She tossed her leg over the beautiful lavender bike and followed the two women into the shop. Money was not an issue for the three of them, so their budget was essentially nonexistent. They had been planning this for years and had a plan set up for how they would make a break for it before the guys realized what was going on.
Ino walked in and strolled around for a minute before she found the bike she was looking for. It was also a ninja, but it was wrapped in a deep purple. Sakura found her target as well, a deep ruby red bike hidden against the back wall. A Ducati like Sasuke's, although it has a slightly smaller engine size than his. They rushed through the paperwork and paid the bikes off in full, Hinata helping where she was needed. The three were like sisters so borrowing money was nothing for them. They knew they would always be this close no matter what.
Hinata bought all of their riding gear and their comms. They swiftly got everything set up and began rolling their bikes out of the shop through the bike door. Hinata looked back at the manager and tossed him a wink, throwing a finger in front of her helmet in a hush hush manner. He nodded and shook his head as they made their escape. Hinata looked up from her bike and saw Izuna pulling back up into the lot. It had been an hour already and they were out of time.
She looked over to the girls and motioned for them to get on and to go. They nodded and tossed their legs over their bikes and jolted from the lot after rev bombing Izuna as they passed him. He hopped out of his car and ran to the edge of the lot after them but there was nothing he could do as he wasn't on his bike. She could hear him yelling at them, but she couldn't tell what he was saying over the laughter echoing through their headsets.
They took off down the street and swiftly the bike shop vanished from sight, leaving a confused Izuna standing there. She laughed to herself at the feeling of freedom of being on her own bike and not relying on Tobirama to drive, as much as she loved riding with him, she loved riding by herself too. There was something indescribable about being the one in control of the bike. She looked to each side and saw Sakura and Ino pulling up to each side of her.
It had been a week since she had seen or heard from Tobirama and she missed his presence dearly, but she knew she needed to give him his space. He had learned some upsetting news and had been a little distant from her and that was ok. She felt for him honestly. She would be just as upset if she had lost a child as well, so he needed time to process. She was relieved he was communicating his struggles with her rather than closing her out and completely shutting her out like she knew he wanted to do, but it seemed he didn't want to lose her, so he didn't.
"Where do you wanna ride to? We have time before we have to go to work." Sakura said and Hinata nodded. "I would love to grab food if you're down." she offered and the two of them nodded and fell back behind her so she could lead the way. She turned off on a side road and pulled up to a red light. The girls pulled right up next to her and flipped up their visors and began gushing their excitement about being able to ride on their own.
Hinata giggled as the two of them began dancing on their bikes and she began to do the same. She looked up to see a teenager recording them from the truck that was pulled up next to them and she blew the kid a kiss, and the girls did the same. His grin was unmatched as he recorded them as they started dancing once more. Their dancing stopped when a bike pulled up next to them and they all sheepishly looked over to the black and red Ducati.
He crossed his arms over his chest, and she grinned at him under his helmet. She pulled a finger to her helmet once more and told him to hush and he nodded as he uncrossed his arms. He tapped into their feed, and she laughed as he began scolding them for running from his younger brother. "Sorry, Madara. But you have to admit we would have gotten a lecture from him because he didn't want them getting bikes." Hinata said and he sighed and nodded.
"That's fine, he just worries about you guys. So where are we going?" he asked, and she smiled under her helmet. "Getting food, wanna come with us?" she asked, and he nodded. She took off the moment the light turned green, and she grinned back at them the moment she did so. Madara caught up just as swiftly and the girls caught up a little later. She weaved between lanes and couldn't help but feel so free. She loved riding more than she did driving, it was something so enlightening about it.
She pulled into the parking lot and parked her bike, looking over at them as they pulled into the spot beside her. They all pulled their helmets off and made their way inside the building. They were seated almost immediately and Hinata sighed as she caught herself staring down at her phone. A message appeared as if on que, but when she opened it, it was from Hashirama. Her shoulders slumped and she released a saddened breath. She replied to him telling him they were ok and clicked her screen off.
Those around her must have noticed her change in mood and she looked around at them as they stared at her in a soft silence. "Are you ok?" Sakura asked and she nodded. She really didn't want to talk about it, but she knew better than to deny those two of information. "Yeah... I'm fine... I just..." she released a sigh and propped her head up on her hand with a frown. "I miss him." she sighed once more, and they offered small smiles at her.
"You never missed Naruto this way... perhaps he is your soulmate?" Ino asked and Hinata sighed once more. She repressed the urge to roll her eyes at the blonde, because she didn't want to be mean. She had given up on the whole soulmate thing a while back and Ino just kept bringing it up. However, she could be right, and they could be, or she could be wrong, and they just had chemistry that no one had ever seen in two people before.
But that's the thing.
Chemistry wasn't love; it was just the ability to mesh together well. Which to her meant that it could never have been love. She wasn't saying she felt like she was in love with him, but he meant a lot to her in the short time of knowing one another and she felt like she could end up loving him. She could see a future with him, and she didn't want to lose that. She sighed and pulled her head from her thoughts as her drink was placed before her.
She took a sip and glanced around at those around her. They were all watching her silently, a sadness in their eyes. "He's just going through some things, it'll get better soon, I promise." Madara said and she nodded. She knew this. She knew that it would get better with a little bit of time, she just had to be patient. She offered a small smile to the man who was sitting with them. He was a good friend and she liked him, but she also knew the reason she had never given him a chance was because he was a flirt and flirted with everything that moved. She preferred her men not to do that. This thought amused her, and she released a little giggle, causing him to look at her oddly.
She just shook her head, and he rolled his eyes. Behind that uncaring demeanor he liked to put up, Madara was truly a kind caring person and she liked that about him. He was a good friend. Soon enough their food was set in front of them, and they began tossing bits and pieces on the grill to cook. Laughter erupted from the group as they managed to snatch the pieces that had been cooked before anyone else could. It was a battle of chop sticks as Madara and Hinata fought to get the last slice of beef on the grill. She glanced over at him and fluttered her lashes delicately.
He seemed startled at the flirtatious look, but a smirk crossed his lips as he leaned closer to her. "Not a chance, Princess." he said as he whipped out a second set of chopsticks in his other hand and snatched the slice of beef and tucked it in his mouth. They all burst out laughing and other tables began staring at them. They tried to calm their laughter, but they eventually burst out in laughter once more.
"Hey guys, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ask you to tone it down a bit, I'm getting complaints." a familiar face sighed and Hinata rolled her eyes, and Ino lunged up from the table and swatted at their friend. "Oh Choji! You know they're a bunch of pansies who don't know how to have a good time!" Ino snapped as she continued to swat the air in front of her friend. "Shikamaru needs to get his tail over here and face me himself!" she said and soon enough an irritated Shikamaru crossed his arms over his chest and made his way over to the table.
"What do you want Ino, troublesome woman..." he grumbled, and she began going off on him too. He sighed and his shoulders slumped as she gave him an earful. "Fine, fine. Next time make sure they're always seated in the party room no matter what." He grumbled, and she smirked at them. "Just keep it down for now." he sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Ok." Hinata said and Shikamaru shook his head while Choji repressed his amusement so as not to upset his co-owner.
After about an hour they finished eating and hanging out. They had even managed to get Shikamaru and Choji to join them on their lunch breaks. They all sat and talked for a while, and she couldn't help but feel pleased with the way things had gone so far. Madara cringed as he looked down at his phone and answered the call. She could hear Izuna yelling from the other side, and she pursed her lips so as not to release a giggle.
"Well, if it's any consolation I'm looking at them." he grumbled and more yelling ensued from the other end. Eventually Madara just hung up and sighed. "Your man is pissed. He said you were not supposed to get a bike today and that he wanted to go with you when you finally did get one." Madara grumbled and Ino laughed. "He will be just fine and will get over it. I think he's angrier over the fact that the three of us ran away from him without letting him look at our bikes." She said and he sighed once more.
Hinata paid the bill and waited for them to get ready to go. "We have enough time to get ready for work and get there. I'm riding my bike to work tonight." she said, and the girls nodded, it seemed they were going to do the same. She couldn't help the smile that crossed her lips as she pulled her braid over her shoulder and slipped her helmet on. She pulled her riding jacket back on and zipped it up before they left the restaurant.
She made her way over to her bike and tossed her leg over it. She tapped her fingers in a small beat as she waited for the others to get on their bikes as well. She started her bike and began pulling out of the parking lot as soon as they were ready as well. She slipped off the curb and took off towards home, waving them all off as she turned down towards her road. When she pulled up to her house, she saw two cars in her driveway. Hers and her cousin's. She parked on the sidewalk in front of her house and pulled off her helmet and looked over to see her father and cousin watching her carefully.
She offered a sheepish smile to them and the frown that crossed her father's lips told her enough of how he felt about her riding the bike. "Father, Neji." she greeted, and they offered small smiles to her in greeting, although the hints of smiles vanished when they looked back to the bike. "I knew it was only a matter of time before you got one, but I was hoping you wouldn't have gotten a sports bike." her father sighed, and she blinked at him in confusion.
"I would have given you mine." he said, and her eyes went wide. She never knew her dad had a motorcycle. She walked over to him, and he held up his phone showing her an old picture of him and her uncle sitting on their respective bikes. "I still have it, but I know it needs work. However, I am proud of you for getting riding gear." he said, and she smiled as she unzipped her jacket. It was hot out and she didn't like wearing it for too long when she didn't have to.
She talked to them for a moment before she made her way into her house and began getting ready for work. She slipped into the shower once they had left. The water cascaded down over her form, and she sighed in relief at the feeling. She slipped her eyes shut and sighed. The feeling of his hands roaming over her body was not there and she admitted she missed it more than anything. She missed him and his touch.
She washed her hair and pushed it over her shoulder and out of the way. Her ears perked up at the sound of a text message and she turned the water off. She reached out and pulled the towel from the holder and wrapped it around her. She looked at her phone and sighed as it still wasn't him. She craved his presence more than he knew. She began drying herself off and started pulling her clothes on. She adjusted her scrubs and clipped her badge on. She then began brushing her hair and working on drying it. When it was dry, she pulled it into one thick braid down her back.
She slipped her work shoes into her backpack and pulled on her riding boots after she had pulled her leather riding pants on. She pulled her jacket on and smiled as she zipped it up. She loved her gear. She grabbed her phone and sent a message to him before she slipped it into her bag as well. She sighed and offered herself a soft smile. She knew she shouldn't have gotten attached to him already, but there was something that had just clicked with them, and she never wanted it to end.
She could only hope he would come back to her, or she would have to move on once more.
:-:-:-:-:
Hashirama sighed as he stared at the lump on his couch. Said lump had not moved for over a week now and he was getting concerned. Sure, he would get up and get food and whatnot, but he hadn't gone to work or taken care of himself like he had needed to for days now. He could understand that the man was grieving the loss of the child he never knew he had, but he needed to get up and move along. He had people waiting on him and he could tell certain ones were going to give up on him.
He reached over and pulled the blanket away from his brother and the man just looked up at him with sad eyes. "You need to get up. I know it's hard, but you have a woman waiting on you and if you keep her waiting, she might leave too." he said and Tobirama furrowed his brows at him. He knew his brother couldn't understand why she would leave, but he also knew his brother didn't want to let that happen. Hinata was good for him, she kept him steady when he thought about doing reckless things.
His brother had certain issues and he knew this, but despite how apprehensive he had been about the two of them getting together he had to admit they were a fitting pair. He didn't want to see either of them hurt again so he decided to step in and knock some sense into his brother. "Look, I know you would give anything for yours and Mei's child to have been born, because I know you wanted children with her, but listen man... I know it's hard... Mito and I know this pain as well. But you can't push everyone away. Especially not Hinata." He said and Tobirama sat up and crossed his arms over his chest.
"And what works best for you?" his brother asked, and he smiled. "Well... going to see the woman that has clearly fallen head over heels for you in such a short time would be a start." he offered, and a slight pink tint crossed his brother's cheeks. He watched as his brother huffed and stood. "Fine." he muttered and made his way off to the bathroom. Hashirama sighed and knew his brother was probably just going to hide in the shower until he had to leave for work. This was what happened the last time he tried to get Tobirama to go see Hinata.
Hashirama sighed and made his way back to the kitchen where Mito was sitting waiting for him. She offered him a hand and a small smile. Knowing full well he couldn't do more, he took her hand and sighed. He wanted to help out so much more but there was only so much he could do. When Tobirama walked out, his hair was wet, and he was walking around shirtless with a towel wrapped around his shoulders. He barely noticed Mito's phone pulled up and sat back down before he could say anything to her.
He was curious as to what she had done but he was going to wait until his brother left to ask about it. Tobirama came through the kitchen a second time but this time he was dressed and prepared to take off somewhere. "Where are you going?" he asked, and his brother raised a brow only to slip his helmet on. "For a ride." he said and walked out of the house. He sighed and watched as Mito stood and took off after him. He looked out the window to see them talking and he seemed to be staring down at his phone before he slipped it back into his chest pocket and took off.
Mito was grinning as she made her way back inside. "What did you tell him?" Hashirama asked with a sigh, and she only smirked at him. "Just a few pointers on what ladies like." she said, and he sighed as he shook his head. He didn't even want to know because the sly fox of a woman was always meddling like he was, only she was more convincing. He leaned over to look at her phone and sighed as he realized she had taken a picture of his brother shirtless and was sending it to Hinata.
:-:-:-:-:
Hinata sighed as she typed away at the computer before her. She was running triage tonight, so she was putting in the patients' vitals that she had taken. She looked over the desk and noticed a man sitting there staring at her. She smiled to the white-haired man, and he looked away with a pink flush to his cheeks. He had been sitting there since she had gotten started on shift, so she wasn't sure if he was family or was waiting for a room. She looked back at her computer, and he had started fiddling with his phone.
After about an hour of him still sitting there watching her, she sighed and looked back up at him and smiled once more. "Is there something I can help you with?" she asked, and he seemed startled. "Oh, no ma'am, I'm fine thank you. Sorry if I was bothering you, I've just never seen someone as wondrously beautiful before." he mused, and she sighed. "Thank you. Let me know if I can help you until you can go back, ok?" she said, and he nodded. She faked a smile and looked back to her computer.
Something about the man made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up but maybe it was because she wasn't used to being flirted with while at work. After another hour passed, she glanced up to see a vase of beautiful purple and white flowers being set on the counter before her. "Are you Miss Hinata?" the delivery man asked, and she nodded. "These are for you." he said and offered her a little card that went with it. She slipped her thumb into the little envelope and pulled out the card.
It said nothing but, 'from an admirer'. This was odd, but it could be from anyone. She looked up to see the white-haired man fiddling on his phone still, so she figured they weren't from him. Could be from anyone, she supposed she was trying to convince herself that the man before her wasn't some weirdo. She looked down at her phone and noticed she had a message from Mito. She clicked it open and almost laughed as she realized it was a shirtless Tobirama.
Her heart fluttered and she looked back at the flowers. Maybe they were from him? She surely hoped so. She sat back down and got back to work, looking up occasionally to admire the flowers. Her coworkers asked her about them, and she stated she didn't know who they were from, and they thought it was cute that someone had sent her flowers. No one thought it was odd in the slightest, so she calmed her nerves about it.
She heard the automatic doors open and her eyes lit up as soon as she saw him. Chills of excitement rolled through her limbs, and she jumped out of her seat and rushed around the counter to embrace him. He chuckled and ruffled her hair with one hand while he offered her a vase full of vibrant red roses. Her odd feeling returned, and she looked over to the vase on the top of the counter. Those weren't from him at all. She clutched the vase of roses to her chest and looked up at him.
"Tobirama... someone else sent me flowers." she said, and he quirked a brow. He made his way over to the vase and looked it over. She handed him the card that came with it, and he furrowed his brows at it. "Don't worry about it, just throw them out." he said, and she looked up at him once more. "I will protect you no matter what. Whether it be someone genuinely showing an interest or being a creep." he said, and she smiled and hugged him once more.
"I missed you." she said, and he hugged her tightly. "I'm sorry I made you miss me. When do you go on break?" he asked, and she looked down at her watch. She opened her mouth to say something, but the charge nurse cut her off. "Right now, if she wants to." Tsunade said and he looked down at her. "Hello cousin. Nice to see you in person since I've only head you were in town from Hinata." Tsunade said and he seemed slightly embarrassed by this.
"Yeah sorry, been busy." he sighed and Hinata giggled lightly behind her hand. "Sorry don't cut it squirt." she muttered and ruffled his hair. They spoke for a moment and Hinata pushed the flowers off towards the trash can, but Tsunade stopped her. "I'll take those if you don't want them. They're too lovely to go in the trash." she said and Hinata nodded and handed the older woman the vase. She took it and made her way back to the back of the ER.
Hinata clocked out for break at the computer and reached into her backpack and pulled out her helmet and riding boots. A smirk crossed Tobirama's lips and he pulled his helmet on once more. She pulled all of her gear on and ran out of the Er front doors, him right behind her. She jogged down the hill to her parking spot and slipped her leg over her bike and waited for him to pull up next to her. She pulled her visor down and turned on her bike. He took off down the road to get out of the hospital parking lot.
She took off after him and they made their way to a 24-hour diner. She pulled up into the parking spot beside him and gasped as she was turned on her bike suddenly and her helmet carefully yanked off. His lips met hers and she allowed herself to meld into him. She missed this. This euphoric feeling of being with him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. When he pulled away, she gave him a sad look. "Please don't ever avoid me again..." she whispered, and he planted another small kiss on her lips.
"Someone would have to kill me to get me away from you." he said, and she had a bad feeling about the flowers all over again. Something was continually unnerving her about that man and those flowers. Something just didn't sit right with her about them. She just couldn't shake the feeling. She sighed and looked across the table at him once more. He was staring at the menu in deep thought. Her eyes scanned over his well chiseled features, and she couldn't help but admire his prominent cheekbones and jawline.
He was a very attractive man, and she was lucky to have him.
She wondered if he truly felt the same about her, but as soon as the thought crossed her mind, his lips found their way to the back of her hand. "Are you ok?" he asked, and she nodded. "I just feel weird about those flowers still." She sighed and he nodded. "You know I will protect you no matter what." he said, and she nodded. She believed he would do anything for her. Ever since the night those guys had cornered her and he cleared them out with his bare hands, she knew he would protect her.
They ordered their food and talked about things that the other had missed in their short bit of distance. "Sakura and Ino got their bikes, and they ride to work with me every night." she said, and he chuckled. "I heard about you three running from Izuna. He was pissed. Not because you ran from him, but because he couldn't ride with yall." he said and Hinata laughed. "Yeah, we got an earful about running off without him. Although Madara enjoyed lunch with us." she said, and he chuckled.
"Madara was pleased with your choice of bikes." he said as their food was placed before them. "Hey, I gotta run by the house and grab something before we head back, would you mind going with me?" She asked and he nodded. They finished their food and hopped back on their bikes as soon as they paid. They took off and pulled up to her house soon enough. Hinata froze in her tracks as soon as she pulled up her driveway.
The vase was sitting on her steps... with a bloody handprint on it.
