Chapter 14
Dedicated to sommergymnastica & JovanaNedeljkovic3 who both give me such hope and inspiration for this book! Thank you two so much!
The clouds were dusted a gentle pink with soft orange undertones. A few shy stars twinkled, but the moon was yet to show its face. Clouds moved by softly – adopting the colours of the setting sun gracefully.
In order to escape his sheer nervousness, Itachi focussed on the painting outside his window – the abstract strokes of a divine being's brush. Itachi was extremely anxious – this would be his first date, and he didn't want to make a mess of it.
He gripped his anxiety and shoved it back into its cage – although perhaps a bit too violently. He turned back to his vanity as he painted his nails a lavender colour. It was the last step of his getting-ready-ritual. He already wore his ripped, black skinny jeans – that clung to his legs – and a black hoody with red clouds periodically stitched onto it.
He couldn't help but be pestered by his uncertainty. Shisui refused to tell Itachi where they were going.
Itachi did not like surprises. He needed a plan – he needed to be prepared or he felt out of control. He felt that things go more smoothly with a plan.
He blew gently on his wet, lavender nail polish – expertly applied – to dry it slightly quicker. He looked at himself in the mirror, he was paler than Shisui, shorter than Shisui, not nearly as muscular as Shisui but, Itachi saw the twinkle in his own onyx eyes.
And he was quite confidently able to attribute that to Shisui.
There was a knock on his door, "Itachi, Shisui is at the door." His father told him – once again holding pride in his eyes. Itachi didn't know what he did to receive such a high esteem from his father – but it never failed to lift his spirit. It never failed to establish a sense of security,
Itachi stood up, aggressively readjusting his clothes – his insecurity scrambling his brain. He had never been nervous at the thought of being around Shisui before – but tonight felt different. Tonight felt...real.
"You look fine", Itachi's father said warmly, pulling tenderly on Itachi's hoody strings.
Itachi offered his father a shy smile and made his way down the stairs, each step quickening his heart rate. It felt as if the closer he got to the door, the stronger his fear grew – waiting for an opportune moment to take over and smash his hopes.
Itachi's mother, Mikoto, stood at the front door cheerfully talking to a deep voice Itachi could easily recognise as Shisui's. Itachi had grown so familiar with that baritone voice, that in a sea of screams he would easily be able to locate the older male.
Itachi took a deep breath to calm his raging nerves before appearing in the doorway. Shisui's smile froze as his eyes darted to Itachi's. They then scanned Itachi from top to bottom and the hunger that precipitated in Shisui's eyes put Itachi on edge.
Itachi's eyes followed Shisui's lead, scanning the older male just as desirably. Shisui had on a tight black shirt that left very little of his muscle to imagination and regular blue jeans that seemed to add a sense of nonchalance to his look.
"So where are you two going tonight?" Mikoto asked oblivious to the sexual hunger, the sexual tension between the two boys.
Shisui cleared his throat, "Ichiraku."
Mikoto clapped in excitement, "Oh what a casual place – lovely idea!"
Itachi perceived a hint of reluctance on Shisui's face before it was expertly morphed into his closed-eyed smile, "I figured Itachi wouldn't let me take him anywhere too expensive."
At this point Fugaku and Mikoto smiled sheepishly, "You'll grow to tolerate his stubbornness."
Itachi rolled his eyes and grabbed Shisui by the wrist, "Bye mom, Bye dad!" He yelled, making a quick escape. Only then did he notice there was a black, sleek car parked in their driveway – and it most certainly didn't belong to either of Itachi's parents.
Shisui grinned shyly, "Yeah, my parents let me borrow their car for tonight", he said as he scratched the back of his head, ruffling his already messy black curls.
"I didn't know you could drive", Itachi said as Shisui opened the passenger seat door for him. Itachi responded to the gesture with a shy smile as he sat down.
Shisui raced around the car and got into the driver's seat, both him and Itachi putting on their seatbelts in synch. Shisui started the car and pulled out of Itachi's driveway.
The silence in the car was awkward. The two of them had never been shy about one another's presence before – but it was different this time; they were on a date.
Itachi distracted himself by looking out the window – the surroundings illuminated by the orange glow of the streetlights. Neatly arranged apartment buildings and the occasional tree – vibrantly green despite the darkness.
Shisui then took an abrupt turn and Itachi saw that Shisui was driving in the opposite direction of Ichirakus.
"The restaurant is in the other direction", Itachi said.
A dust of pink appeared on Shisui's tan face, "We aren't going to Ichirakus..."
Itachi tilted his head in confusion, "Then where are we going?"
Shisui didn't take his eyes off the road – not with Itachi in the car. When it came to Itachi he was always extra cautious. He would not be the reason to ever allow harm to come to Itachi.
"It's a surprise", Shisui said in his usual cheerful manner.
Itachi huffed – he did not enjoy surprises.

There were no streetlights, no tarred roads and not a single building in sight. The only source of light came from the car's headlights and the full moon. All that was illuminated was a luscious green field – with intervals of purple flowers here and there.
"Shisui, are we out of the city?" Itachi asked, mortified.
Shisui eventually parked the car and chuckled nervously, "We are."
Itachi felt worried – he felt it as a semi-blow to his gut, "I didn't bring my phone. What if something happens? What if there's an emer-"
Shisui pulled Itachi into a comforting hug, settling his chin on Itachi's head, "Nothing will happen to you, I promise."
It was the magic of Shisui's simple words and vows that had the amazing effect of switching off Itachi's logic. Itachi had always relied on his logic – it was consistent and concise. Emotions were messy and unreliable, but with Shisui he had found a logical emotion – he just didn't know what to name it.
"C'mon", Shisui grinned, getting out of the car. Itachi followed suit.
The field was quiet – no sound whatsoever. It was magically lit up by the full moon – casting a comforting, peaceful glow down on the two boys.
Shisui intertwined his hand with Itachi's, "It's a slight climb so don't fall." Itachi's heart warmed at Shisui's concern – and the warmth of his hand in Shisui's made him blush slightly.
Shisui and Itachi hiked up the edge of a small hill – made mostly of silky grass. The grip of their shoes slipping every now and then, but they relied on one another to restore the other's balance. They made it to the top of the hill and Shisui immediately made himself at home, sitting down on the plush grass.
Itachi followed, sitting close to Shisui – so close that their arms and knees were touching. Deliberately of course, both boys wanted as much contact as possible.
"Why didn't we go to Ichirakus tonight?" Itachi asked, admiring the brilliant night sky. Adoring the various constellations and the images they seemed to form. How a small light from a star broke the engulfing darkness of light. And how the moon rose up and replaced the sun – glowing a gentler form of affection, of light than the sun did.
Shisui, too, was mesmerised by the stars – but only for a moment.
"I'm too selfish, Itachi. I'm too selfish when it comes to you. You're dressed so...deliciously and I didn't want anyone else to see you like this." Shisui's voice was thick in possessiveness and undiluted lust.
Itachi looked down, tucking a stray piece of his hair behind his ear, "Do you want to know a secret?" He whispered to Shisui, shifting so his hand sat gently on Shisui's firm chest. Itachi would keep to himself how he enjoyed Shisui's defined stature.
Shisui felt hypnotised by the moonlit, pale Itachi whispering in his ear. All language had escaped Shisui's mind – he nodded in response, too captivated by Itachi's gentle touch.
"I didn't want anyone else to see you like...this either", Itachi whispered sinfully into Shisui's ear. Itachi's hand found its way under Shisui's tight black shirt, skipping across Shisui's abs.
Shisui threw his head back at the slight touch of Itachi's hand. Itachi nibbled gently on Shisui's earlobe – sending a jolt of electricity to Shisui's crotch.
Shisui felt the lustful creature take over – its desire was simple: claim Itachi as his.
