SYDNEY AND RUDY HAD LEARNT TO BE CIVIL WITH EACH OTHER FOR THE REST OF THE WEEKEND, BUT THAT DIDN'T MEAN IT WASN'T AWKWARD. Sydney wasn't even looking in Rudy's direction if she could help it. She just didn't know what to do. Their issue couldn't stay unresolved but she didn't know what else to do, they had talked and it had ended worse than it had started.

Sydney half wished that the past year hadn't even happened. She wished she didn't say yes to Mark that Thursday morning about taking the role on the show, she wished she hadn't had to see Rudy again after a year and she wished they didn't fool themselves into thinking they could just be friends. She felt stupid and embarrassed that they even could think for one second that they could forget about their history and be friends like everyone else.

Maybe they were better off not talking to each other, maybe it was what was meant to happen. Maybe Sydney could leave the show, they could write Juliet out of season 2, she wasn't the main character so she wasn't needed. Maybe Sydney could move on and just forget about the last year. She didn't want to, she had met the most amazing people and had the most amazing summer. But she couldn't carry on tiptoeing around her ex-boyfriend the way she had been that weekend.

Why did Rudy have to be so caught up on the past? And why did it have to bother Sydney so much?

For the life of her, Sydney couldn't figure out the answers to either of those questions. They were circling her brain from the minute she woke up in the morning till she went to sleep that night. And maybe Sydney could have figured out the answers if she spoke to someone about it, but Sydney didn't. Sydney barely even spoke about Rudy showing up at her hotel room to talk. Sydney had to mention it to the girls but she didn't say much. She didn't know what to say, how to explain how she was feeling. But maybe if she had, she could've answered at least one of her questions.

All nine adults were rather upset when that Monday morning rolled around and they had to drive back down the Los Angeles. But at least on the drive back, Madelyn had gotten what she had wanted and Sydney had gotten in her car with Chase and Drew. Rudy wasn't mentioned once and if Sydney was being honest, she had completely forgotten about him the whole time. That was till she had gotten home and saw a string of messages from their groupchat and his name popped up on her screen.

So Sydney decided to call Mark, her agent, and fill him in on what had happened over the weekend. It was nice for her to finally talk to someone about everything, every little detail and get their input on it. Mark was very helpful in trying to understand Rudy's actions but when he got down to his opinion on why the boy had acted the way he had, Sydney wasn't too thrilled about what she had heard. Even more so when Mark told Sydney why he thought it bothered her so much.

It wasn't true. That was what Sydney kept telling herself. For days after, weeks after, all she kept telling herself was that it was just Mark's opinion and it wasn't true.

There was absolutely no way that they had developed feeling for one another again. Absolutely no way on earth.
