EIGHTEEN — ( BOYS FALLING AT YOUR FEET ! )

SYDNEY WAS STANDING WITH DREW IN BETWEEN FILMING WHILE THEY WERE BOTH WATCHING MADLEYN AND CHASE TOGETHER. It was unspoken knowledge between the cast that they all suspected a little more than friendship between the two but neither of them were going to be admitting it any time soon, they knew that. The two were clearly flirting with each other, Sydney and Drew could both see that as they continued to watch the two.

"I hope they wait till we finish filming to start dating. I don't need any more reminders that I'm single." Sydney said, leaning against the building they were standing in front of.

Drew let out a laugh. "You can say that again." He said, nodding. He then paused for a moment before speaking again. "How long have you been single for?" He was just curious and seen as Sydney brought it up, he thought why not ask.

"Just over a year." Sydney told him, her eyes still focused on her friends flirting.

"A year?" Drew was shocked and Sydney could tell by the tone of his voice so she turned her head to look at him.

"Yeah." She laughed at his shocked expression. "Why is that surprising?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows.

Drew let out a laugh himself from disbelief. "I don't know. Just assumed you had boys falling at your feet." He told her, and it was true. Sydney was a catch, everyone could see that, so the fact she'd not dated anyone in over a year was more than shocking. It was even more of a shock to Drew.

"Absolutely not." Sydney said, laughing at his comment before turning her head back to her friends.

They were silent for a moment. "So why'd you two break up? Was he an asshole or something?" Drew asked, being curious about Sydney's previous relationship. Not for any reason, he just liked asking people questions about their lives, especially Sydney because of how much he enjoyed talking to her. Despite the two not having many scenes together, they'd hung out quite a lot together.

"No, he wasn't. The exact opposite actually." Sydney said as she twisted her body around. If she was going to have a proper conversation with Drew then she was going to at least face him. Her shoulder was now resting against the building instead. "We just grew apart, I guess. We had an argument and it just ended." She told him, being careful about what she said. If Drew ever found out who her ex was then he'd definitely remember what she was saying in that moment. Sydney had to be careful not to say anything bad about him.

"Damn. That sucks when that happens." Drew said.

"Happened to you before?" Sydney asked, tilting her head to the side.

Drew nodded. "Yeah. It's not fun. It's a different kind of heartbreak." He said, which Sydney agreed with.

"It is. I think I would've rather them just break up with me. Or anything else. I hated sitting there and wondering if they were ever going to come back and I was way too scared to pick up the phone." She explained, giving a little more on how they broke up. "But he was a good guy, a really good guy." She added, wanting to make it clear that they didn't do anything wrong, not really. "What about you?"

"6 months. She was a good one too. We just grew apart too, I guess." Drew shrugged as he smiled. It happened to everyone.

"It all happens for a reason." Sydney told him, believing that it really did all happen for a reason.

Drew was about to add to what Sydney had said, she could see that, but he stopped himself and his eyes focused on something behind Sydney. "Hey man." Drew said and Sydney immediately turned around to see who it was. Her eyes widened and she prayed they hadn't been listening in on her and Drew's conversation.

"Hey, what you guys talking about?" Rudy smiled, standing beside Sydney and crossing his arms over his chest.

Please don't say it, please don't say it, Sydney thought as she braced herself for what Drew was going to say. "Syd was just telling me about her ex." Drew told Rudy, not thinking anything of it. And obviously he wouldn't.

Sydney watched as a small smirk made it's way only Rudy's face as he tried his hardest not to laugh. "Oh really?" He asked, looking at Sydney who had no idea what to say.

Drew was about to answer him but someone on the other side of set had called him over. Drew apologised to the two before leaving them alone. Sydney and Rudy watched as Drew left. "He brought it up, not me." She said as soon as he was out of earshot.

The smirk on Rudy's face had grown. "Oh yeah?" He said, turning to face the blonde girl.  Sydney only laughed and shook her head. That damn smirk.

"Shut up." Sydney groaned, playfully pushing Rudy. He laughed, liking the fact it was so easy to tease Sydney still. He always found it amusing how easy it was to get under her skin. And he missed doing it.

NO BECAUSE Y'ALL HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I WANT TO TURN THIS INTO A DREW FIC i hate myself for making them so close
but they will just be besties seen as this is a rudy fic and i still love rudy

maybe i'll write a drew fic to make up for my desire to have sydney and drew together....

this isn't important bc i didn't make it a big thing in previous chapters but i mentioned at one point about rudy not being 21 yet. bc his birthday is in august and rn it's like july???
but when it was his birthday last month i found out he was actually a year older than google said so he was actually already 21 when filming for outer banks started so just wanted to say that i changed it obviously. no one would've probably noticed but just thought i'd point out that i did change it

also about elaine. okay so i know i said in previous chapters that i have nothing against her and now that we know her and rudy are actually dating (unless she's playing everyone lmao) i would've probably not had her in this book like i planned out of respect HOWEVER i strongly dislike her now. she's been racist in the past, she is SO rude to fans for no reason and she acts like she's a celebrity or something just bc she's dating rudy and friends with the cast??? like girl ur an assistant MOVE
stop acting so entitled and she clearly has no respect of rudy's privacy bc in my opinion he should be the one announcing his relationship to his fans and he hasn't but she has said things in multiple occasions that sounds like she's bragging about it??? which is just rude and she shouldn't be saying anything but yeah i just think she's rude and she makes me so mad
so i have no problem making her out to be the bad guy in this book and that's exactly what i will be doing. sorry if it makes me disrespectful or something but i really don't care because she's disgusting and rudy deserves better
plus it makes for a good plot 😌😌😌

sorry for the rambling, i just really don't like her but i hope you enjoyed the chapter anyway. it's more of a filler chapter but the next chapter will be more interesting i promise!!! just a cute little chapter for you guys
