Jay Halstead walked in the office holding a cup of coffee in his right hand and a box filled with donuts in the other. "Morning!" He shouted and everyone turned their heads to his direction.  Kevin jumped of his chair, heading straight for the box. Jay didn't have time to protest before the box was taken away from him.

"Is It your birthday or something?" asked Ruzeck while chewing his bite.
Jay scoffed "you don't know when my birthday Is?"
"is It today?"
" No!"
"then we're good!" he said, grabbing one more donut before walking back to his desk. Jay shook his head, while tarring oft his jacket and leaving It on his chair.

"for your information my birthday is in two months." He answered. As soon as he sat on his desk, his phone started ringing. He reached for It in his pocket, the number on the screen was unknown to him which was very odd.

"Hello?" he asked but all he could hear at first was a woman's heavy breath. "who is this?" he asked again.
"Jay?" The voice was familiar but It he couldn't understand who It was yet "Thank god you didn't change your number like your brother!"

"Loralai?" he questioned, narrowing his eyebrows. This was the last person he was expecting to hear from. It had been almost a year since the last time they spoke to each other. "where are you? What is that noise-"

"I can't explain but I need you to get outside of the station right now!" Hallstead noticed her voice cracking by the end of her sentence. He sat straighter on his chair, alarming everyone else in the room. "Lorelai what is going on?" His question went unanswered all he heard was what he could imagine to be a car horn. "are you driving?"

"Get downstairs- Please!" she cried, Ignoring his question. Jay got up and started walking Towards the exit. The rest of the team, followed behind him, knowing that there was something wrong. As soon as he stepped out he looked for the girl but everything seemed calm and normal "where are you?" he asked on the Phone. His question was answered by the loud noise of a speeding car, he saw a black vehicle coming towards him in full speed and he could only guess Loralai was In there. The car crashed against a light Pole, breaking It. Jay rushed to the scene, slipping his Phone back in his pocket. He opened the door, kneeling down to help Loralai. He helped her unplug her seatbelt and held her face gently, forcing her to look at him. She had several scratches from the crash and her eyes were filled with fear and agony. He pushed back her hair, trying to calm her but she kept looking behind him like she was waiting for someone.

"Hey! Hey! Look at me! What happened?" he asked In a louder tone.
"we have to- we have to go inside!" she coughed the words, trying to catch her breath. Jay looked at her confused, he didn't move. "the story." She mumbled and looked behind her to get her bag. She started digging in her purse like a maniac until she found a USB flash drive. "we have to go!"  she repeated, her voice trembling and tried to stand up. Thankfully Jay was there to catch her when she missed her step. She held onto his checkered shirt for dear like as he helped her stand still.
"You have to go to the Hospital!" He said looking in her teary eyes.
"No!" she spat, holding his arms tighter. "they are coming for me! We have to go Inside!"
"who's coming?" He was starting to get impatient. Suddenly he heard Atwater calling his name, he looked up, seeing a black van and one man pointing his gun at them and then heard a loud bang. He pushed Loralai back in the car as quickly as he could, the bullet but the right side other stomach, causing her to shout in pain. Jay laid on top of her to shield her from the rest of the gunshots. He got up only when everything went silent again. "Are you ok?" He asked and she shook her head, Covering her Fresh wound with her hand.

"You guys ok?" asked Atwater, standing behind them.
"She was hit! Call an ambulance now!" he instructed.

Jay pressed on her wound while they waited for the ambulance. "You'll be Ok!" He whispered to her. Not sure If he was trying to reassure her or himself.
