Y/n POV

"Why did you want us here so badly?" Carter groans as soon as Mia opens the door "Its too early"

"Its five in the afternoon" Mia rolls her eyes.

"Exactly"

"He had an interesting night last night and he's getting the punishments now" Elijah speaks.

Mia steps aside to let them in. Elijah and Carter walk in, Carters eyes half shut. Elijah smiles at Jack who was sitting on my bed in front of me. I sat with my back against the headboard and my feet on Jack's lap who was facing Mia's side of the room, his back against the wall.

"Greetings, I'm Elijah and this Carter" Elijah introduced them.

"Jack" Jack shakes Elijah's hand and Carter falls face first onto Mia's bed with a loud groan.

"And I don't give a fuck" Carter speaks, his voice being muffled by the mattress under him.

Mia sits on the little space there was next to Carter, rubbing his back softly.

"Did you give him ibuprofen?" Mia asks.

"Why wouldn't I? This isn't my first rodeo" Elijah chuckles, sitting on the char to a small desk in the corner of the room.

"How often does this happen?" Jack asks.

"Eh" Elijah shrugs "Usually once every two weeks but sometimes twice"

Carter flips over onto his back and stares up at the ceiling. He turns his head to look at me.

"But at least some girl didn't start kissing me because she wanted to forget about her problems" Carter chuckled.

I bent my knees, putting my head on my knees and covering my head, remembering last year. Every time he brings it up I cringe.

"Stop!" I chuckle.

Once I bring my head back up, Jack is looking at me confusedly. I lay my feet back on top of his lap, ignoring his confusion.

"We should all do something today!" Mia claps excitedly.

"No!" Carter groans.

"Well we can't just keep Jack here this whole time! We need to bring him somewhere! Or Y/n can!" Mia smiles.

"I'm fine with staying here. As long as I'm with Y/n, I'm good" Jack shrugs.

"If I didn't know you, i'd think you two are dating" Carter blurts out "Are you?"

Jack's eyes widen along with mine. I know what he's doing. He knows full well that I like him and we're nothing. We both struggle for words but Jack soon speaks.

"N-No. We're just friends"

"Oh! I know, I know, I know!" Mia claps excitedly "We should go ice skating!"

"Mia, its in the middle of the summer" Elijah rolls his eyes.

"I know, but theres a place I know. Its inside!"

"Leave me here" Carter groans.

"You're going! You don't have a choice!" Mia points at him.

"I will break my neck if we go" I state.

"It wont be that bad!" Mia smiles "We're going! Nobody can say nothing, not even you Elijah!"

"But you just-" Elijah starts.

"Nope!"

"But-"

"I said no!" Mia yells.

"But you just said I could! You said I can't say nothing, thats a double negative. Two negatives make a positive!" Elijah corrects.

Mia glares at him and flips him off. Jack laughs, forcing a smile on my face. Mia pulls us all out and we follow her to her car. Mia driving, Elijah in the passenger seat, Carter, Jack, and me in the back. I was in the middle pf the two boys. Carter was shielding his eyes from the sun but started feeling a bit better on the way there.

Mia parked in the packed parking lot. We all jump out of the car like clowns in a small car. Mia jumps excitedly as we get closer to the door.

"I haven't done this in years!" Mia smiles as she tightens the laces over her shoes.

"Well, I (have never/have) done this before" I smile "I'm sure I'll die, though"

"Hey" Carter whispers as he sits next to me, pulling his shoes off.

"Hi! Feeling better?"

"A little" he shrugs "You know what this is a perfect opportunity for?"

"What?" I ask, kind of scared of where this could possibly go. There was no telling what he would say.

"Get closer to Jack" Carter smirks "Y'know. Hold hands, pretend like you have no idea what you're doing, act terrified"

"No, I-I'm good" My face reddens.

"C'mon, its easy"

"Yeah? Why don't you do that with Mia?" I smile.

"What, no!" His eyes widen.

"See, its not that easy, is it?" I smirk, tightly tying the laces.

"Whatever" He rolls his eyes.

"I'm ready, but terrified!" Mia smiles as she finishes tying her shoes.

"Carter will help you!" I smile up at her. Carters eye widen from next to me.

"W-What?!" Carter stutters.

"Really? Thanks Carter! Now hurry up, I can't wait any longer!" Mia smiles.

Carter punches me in the arm then scans the room around him. He puts his hand on the side of his mouth and yells.

"Hey, Jack!" He yell. My eyes widen and I quickly cover his mouth. Jack looks over at us from across the room, walking towards us with his skates in hand.

"Don't listen to this asshole!" I yell, making Jack laugh.

"Family friendly place, Y/n!" Jack laughs "Remind you of anyone?" Jack sits down next to Carter, bringing up more memories from high school.

Carter licks my hand, making me pull my hand away.

"Carter! What the-" I start.

"Will you help her?" Carter asks Jack quickly making Mia giggle.

"With what?" Jack asks, his face reddening.

"What else, dumbass?" Carter motions toward the ice.

"Well I don't know! She needs help with many things!" Jack giggles, his face reddening even more "But s-sure" he shrugs.

"Now we're even" Carter whispers.

"I don't know if I should punch you or thank you" I mumble.
