Chapter 3

It had been a rather uneventful morning, the same routine and same interactions. Neither Shisui nor Itachi had said it to one another – but they both loved it. Every conversation, every touch and every sensation seemed to be the first. Magic relived – in fact, magic that never dies. A type of magic that blissfully forgets itself and is awestruck nonetheless when it rediscovers itself.

A foolish but irreplaceable magic.

Shisui sat on the couch, captivated by whatever he was watching on T.V. His husband sat in the kitchen sipping tea. Itachi was still irritated at the fact that he still didn't know where the button to turn the T.V on was.

So he Googled it.

Itachi glared at his screen behind his teacup. Google had simply displayed a picture with an obnoxious red arrow pointed at a button that had a circle with a line in it. A very big red arrow.

That was unnecessarily condescending for a search engine, he thought bitterly.

His thoughts continued wandering and he slyly looked up from his phone at his tall husband. Shisui sat on the edge of the couch, transfixed by whatever the T.V screen was showing.

Okay...okay he won't know – Itachi assured himself.

He put down his mug so slowly and quietly. He didn't want to draw Shisui's attention to himself.

He started typing, 'What qualities make a movie good?'.

The key ingredients that make a movie 'good' are when the acting, directing, writing, cinematography and overall production value all come together to tell one cohesive, entertaining and impactful story, the Google result read.

Okay...so acting, Itachi thought hard again.

Once again he started typing, 'Are do-'

And Google threw up a suggested search, 'Are dolphins dangerous?'

"Are they?" Itachi whispered softly, interested now. He clicked on the suggested search and started reading – completely forgetting what he was going to initially search.

In most cases dolphins (both captive and wild) are typically not dangerous unless provoked or agitated by a human.

"Interesting..." Itachi whispered again. He scrolled further down and saw a list of suggested searches relating to animals. One particular search caught his attention.

'Who is Peppa Pig?'

Itachi furrowed his brows in concentration, "Is there a famous pig now?"

He clicked on the search.

His screen was bombarded with images of a brightly pink and poorly drawn pig in various situations. Itachi rolled his eyes in annoyance for falling into such a stupid search and looked for the popular related searches.

He snapped his head back in confusion at the top related search, 'How tall is Peppa Pig?'

Why would anyone want to know that? Itachi thought.

He narrowed his eyes at the search...

Okay but just out of curiosity... He rationalised with himself.

He clicked on the search.

"Do you want to go on a honeymoon?" Shisui intensely asked Itachi from the couch, looking at him. Itachi hadn't heard him. He widened his eyes.

'7 feet 1 inch tall'?! Surely that can't be right! Itachi yelled in disbelief in his mind.

Shisui got up and walked over to a very invested Itachi, curious as to what had caught his attention so immensely. He loomed over Itachi's shoulder and saw him scrolling through related searches.

'IS PEPPA PIG 7FT TALL?'

'HOW TALL IS DADDY PIG?'

'HOW TALL IS GEORGE PEPPA PIG?'

Shisui furrowed his eyebrows trying to figure out why his husband was searching this. Itachi still hadn't seen or heard Shisui move. His thumb hovered over 'How tall is Daddy Pig?'

If Peppa is seven feet tall then her father surely must be humongo-

"Itachi!" Shisui tried to grab his husband's attention.

Itachi jumped in absolute fright and slammed his phone face down. He stared at Shisui with red cheeks, "H-Huh?" He asked brilliantly.

"Why are you Googling how tall...Daddy Pig is?" Shisui was genuinely confused.

Itachi's cheeks got even more red, "No I- I wasn't- Google had-" He stopped himself.

He can't know that I'm still trying to prove that documentaries are good movies, Itachi's mind commented.

Itachi took a sharp inhalation and squared his shoulders, trying to look nonchalant despite being beat red, "I was curious", he announced.

"O...kay", Shisui just said.

Itachi looked away in the awkward silence. Shisui enjoyed seeing Itachi flustered but his mind was still flaming with his burning question. He took Itachi's hands in his, and the long haired Uchiha looked at his husband again.

"Do you want to go on a honeymoon?" Shisui asked intensely.

Itachi's eyes softened, "Shis-"

"Because we can! I can figure something out!"

"Shis-"

"Maybe take out a loan or some-" Shisui jumped in but Itachi slammed his lips to the older male's. Shisui's attention melted into the kiss, feeling Itachi's smooth lips against his. He wrapped one arm around Itachi's waist, pulling the long haired male closer against his body.

Itachi broke the kiss when Shisui swiped his tongue across Itachi's bottom lip. Sasuke was still home and in his room – he didn't want things to escalate too much.

"What was that for?" Shisui asked lustfully.

"You wouldn't let me finish", Itachi blushed at his husband's tone, "Shisui, I don't need to go on a honeymoon – I don't want to go on a honeymoon. Just being here with you and Sasuke is all that I want..."

Itachi looked his tan husband in the eyes sincerely and Shisui looked down, "I know but..." He said sadly.

Itachi furrowed his brows in concern, "What?"

"I just... I want to give you more..." Shisui whispered.

Itachi lifted Shisui's chin slightly so their eyes could meet again, "You give me everything just by breathing."

Shisui's eyes still held doubt, Itachi could see it and he wished he had the words to dispel it.

"I love you... You know that, right?" Shisui whispered intensely.

Itachi smiled, "I do. And I love you more."

That 'more' was burned into Shisui's mind like a shadow imprinted on the ground.

Itachi didn't see the shadow in Shisui's eyes at that word.

*****

"Itachi, I'll make the tea", Shisui offered. Walking into the kitchen from the living room.

"It's okay, I've got it", Itachi said, pouring the tea into four mugs – focussed.

Shisui quirked his lips to the side.

There was a knock on the door, Itachi put down the kettle. But Shisui jumped in, "I'll get it!" And ran to the door.

Obito and Kakashi had called earlier that morning, asking if they could come over. Itachi looked at Shisui for confirmation, knowing that he and Kakashi had a little rivalry going on since high school but the older male agreed instantly. Itachi welcomed them and, conveniently, Sasuke asked if he could go to the mall so it all just worked out well.

Itachi walked over to the door.

"Hi guys, come in", Shisui invited them inside.

No snarky remark at Kakashi? I'm impressed, Itachi thought.

Obito and the taller, silver haired Kakashi walked inside.

"Wow! This place is nice...spacious", Obito admired.

"Thanks", Itachi hugged Obito in greeting.

"Yeah, it's nice", Kakashi commented.

"You guys can sit so long, I'll-" Itachi started but Shisui cut him off.

"I'll get the tea", he smiled at their guests and rushed to the kitchen.

Itachi looked at the retreating Shisui but Obito caught his attention, "Oh my god, it's got heating!" He shrugged off his thick coat, "Some of us freeze, you know?" He glared playfully at Itachi.

Itachi took a seat on the couch and Obito and Kakashi sat on the other couch. He almost missed it, so barely there – but Itachi saw it nonetheless.

The space between them. It seemed like a normal space, but anyone who knew the couple knew that there was hardly ever any space between them. Itachi hoped it was nothing major, but he started paying even more attention.

"So, how are you gu-" Itachi asked but was cut off, again, by Obito.

"How is married life?" Obito asked with sparkles in his eyes. Shisui came in with the tray of tea and set it down on the coffee table.

"Oh, it's great!" Itachi enthused, choosing his words carefully. He was ecstatic about being married to Shisui, but didn't want to ruffle the feathers of his friend's relationship.

"It's wonderful! We've never been happier", Shisui said happily, sitting down next to Itachi and kissing him on the head, then throwing his arm around his husband.

"I'm so happy for you guys! It must take real commitment and love to get married at such a young age", Obito said casually but the accusation hung in the air as he grabbed his tea mug.

Itachi widened his eyes slightly, reaching for his own tea mug – hoping Shisui would pick up on the tension and do what only he could...like tell a joke.

"Oh yeah, I just love Itachi so much! I couldn't imagine a life without him, he's my everything", Shisui said with love, again kissing Itachi on the head.

Obito's head shot to look at Kakashi.

Oh no...Itachi thought.

"Interesting choice of words, Shisui", Obito said heatedly, but was looking directly at Kakashi.

Kakashi just sighed, "You're going to do this here? Again? In front of them?"

"It's just that-" Obito began.

"So guys-" Itachi tried to speak to diffuse whatever bomb was about to go off in his living room, but Obito just spoke louder.

"- you're my everything and that I can't live without you-", Obito said.

"Obito, don't-" Kakashi tried to say but his smaller boyfriend carried on anyway.

Obito slammed his tea mug down, "And since you won't do it", he got down on one knee, "Kakashi Hatake, will you ma-"

"That's enough Obito! Stop it now!" Kakashi's voice boomed.

Itachi jumped suddenly and Shisui tightened his arm around his husband. Kakashi hardly ever raised his voice. In all the years Itachi had known him, Kakashi had only shouted at him once. And technically, it wasn't even at Itachi, it was more aimed at Shisui back in high school.

The apartment was so quiet one might assume it was tomb. Itachi and Shisui stared with wide eyes.

Obito aggressively wiped his right eye and stood up straight, "Is that a 'no'?"

Kakashi just sighed and looked down, "Yes...it's a no..."

"Ha", Obito just said. He snivelled, picked up his tea mug that was still piping hot and dumped it on Kakashi.

Itachi gasped and Shisui just went rigid.

Kakashi didn't even flinch from the hot liquid being poured on his head.

"I guess that settles that..." Obito whispered sadly and stalked out of the apartment, he slammed the door behind him and once again Itachi jumped slightly from how loud the noise was.

Again Kakashi just sighed.

"A-Are you alri-" Itachi tried to ask in shock but Kakashi's head shot up and he made solid contact with the long haired Uchiha.

"You never did anything like this..." Kakashi stared into Itachi's eyes, referring back to when Itachi and Kakashi were sexually involved with each other.

Itachi just stared back at Kakashi in shock again, seeing as Shisui was sitting right next to him. Itachi tried to figure out how he'd break up a fight between the two of them, waiting for the arm around him to vanish and an all-out fistfight to occur.

Shisui's arm remained firm around Itachi's shoulders.

Kakashi broke eye contact with Itachi, seemingly realising where he was and who else was in the room, "Thanks for having us." He thanked them as if he wasn't soaking in freshly boiled water.

He got up, and walked out of the apartment – closing the front door much more quietly than Obito had.

A/N: Yeah, I'm back ❤️😂
