11...Auditions
---3 Years Later---
~Jada's POV~
It's now March of 2008 and so much has happened in the last 3 years. Rylee had her baby, Jada Mikayla James-Jackson, at the beginning of 2006 and the baby is 2 years old now and she's walking and talking a lot more than a 2 year old usually would. Also, Jedell had a baby boy, Michael Jaden Jackson, at the beginning of last year and he's 1 year old now. Aaaand, Christian's gonna be a father in about 2 months. That's right, Ashley's pregnant at 17 years old. It's crazy, I know. Oh, and Hope finally found her first boyfriend last year and she's still very happy with him. Michael is so content with all these grandchildren we're getting and he's so very excited for our tour next year.
He's already started looking for backup dancers.
Michael and I are in the limo now, on our way to the Staples Centre for the auditions.
"I heard that most of these dancers are in their 20s and 30s! I'm surprised 20 year olds like my music and wanna be a back dancer for me!" He says.
"Michael, of course they wanna dance behind you. You're the world's greatest entertainer of all time!" I say and he giggles.
"You're only saying that to make me feel special." He says.
"No I'm not, actually. It's true that you're the greatest!" I say and he giggles again.
"Thanks. But you're the best singer ever." He says.
"Aw, thanks." I smile.
The limo stops in front of the Staples Centre and we get out and go into the stadium.
"Hey, Michael!" Kenny Ortega says, running over to Michael and me.
"Hey, Kenny. Ready to see some talent?" Michael asks.
"Oh, I already have seen some talent in there. These kids have got talent. I saw some of them practicing.. Ooh, man, they're good!" Kenny says, causing me and Michael to giggle.
"Oh, Kenny." Michael laughs.
We go in and watch some of the guys perform for us first.
"Michael, I think he should be one of them. Don't you think so?" I whisper, pointing at a guy who's dancing away like nobody's watching.
Michael looks at him and nods.
"Yeah. He's good."
After the guys go off the stage, all the girls come on and Kenny practically drools over them.
"I think she's the one." Kenny says to Michael.
"Which one? What number?" Michael asks.
"Uhh, 48." Kenny says and Michael looks for the girl with the tag that says '48' on it.
"No, she's too crazy. Look at how she's dancing. We don't want someone who's trying to be sexy. We want someone with pure talent." Michael says.
After the girls go off the stage, we call everyone onto the stage so we can announce the winners.
"So, the official This Is It dancers...are..." Kenny announces them.
All the winners, jump up and down, some cry, and some just stand there staring at completely nothing with their jaws dropped, shocked as everyone claps.
"Oh my gooooooood!" I hear one girl cry out loudly as she sobs.
I walk out to the stage and hug some of the winners.
I go over to the girl that cried out loudly and smile at her.
I wrap my arms around her as she keeps sobbing and crying hysterically.
"Oh my god. I can't believe this. Is this really happening?" She sobs.
"Yes it is, honey. I promise you it is. Congratulations, love." I speak softly as I rub her back.
Michael walks over as I pull away from the hug with this fan and she smiles, wiping her tears.
I point behind her, where Michael is, and she turns around and collapses onto her knees as she cries and sobs even more.
"Oh my god, this is really happening. Michael Jackson is standing in front of me." She sobs happily as Michael squats down beside her.
"Hey. This is happening to you because you're so talented and you deserve to get discovered as a dancer." Michael says to her.
"Th-Thank you. I love you, Michael." She says.
"I love you, too." He smiles at her.
"Can I have a hug?" She asks and he nods.
"Of course." He smiles as she latches onto him, sobbing into his shoulder.
I can't help but smile at this sight. Michael has made such a difference in a 20 year old girl's life even before she met him. It's incredible, really.
"You okay?" He asks her and she nods as she pulls away.
She wipes her tears away with the back of her hand and he reaches into his pocket.
"Here. Here's a handkerchief." He says, passing it to her.
"Thank you." She smiles, taking it from him.
"No problem. God bless you." He says, kissing his first three fingers and placing them on her forehead before getting up from the floor and helping her up.
Michael walks over to Kenny and takes the microphone from him and starts to speak.
"Hello, everybody. Thank you all so much for coming to this audition. It was a tough choice, deciding who to pick so don't feel like you're not good enough because you're all great dancers. Each and every one of you. But, we could only choose so many. I appreciate you all coming and I hope you all have a great day. Congratulations to those we chose. We'll see you here when rehearsals start. I love you all from the bottom of my heart." He says and then everyone explodes into claps and screams.
We leave the stadium and hop into the limo.
"Well, that was great." Michael sighs.
"That girl was really really content, wasn't she?" I giggle.
"Yeah. She seemed nice though." He giggles.
---When We Get Home---
We walk into the main house and go into the living room and see Ashley and Christian cuddled up on the couch while Hope and her boyfriend, Nick, are sitting in the big chair together, watching TV.
"Hey kids!" I say.
"Hey.." They all say, still staring at the TV.
"How was the audition?" Christian asks, looking over at us.
"It was great. There was this one fan who was so happy that she cried and sobbed and collapsed on the floor so me and your father consoled her and he helped her up. It was so sweet because she's only 20 years old." I say and Christian nods.
"Oh." He chuckles.
"How you feeling, Ashley?" I ask and Ashley looks over at me.
"Oh, I'm feeling alright. The baby's kicking like crazy though." She says, rubbing her baby bump.
"Aww, that feels so different!" Christian chuckles, placing his hand on her stomach.
"Ouch! That was a big kick." Ashley giggles.
"I don't think the baby likes me." Christian whispers to us and Michael giggles.
"No wonder." Hope mumbles.
"Hey! That was mean." Christian pouts playfully.
"Oh, you're such a baby! Can't take a joke?" Hope says smugly.
"Shut up." Christian says.
"Make me." Hope says and sticks her tongue out at him.
"I'll come over there and make you shut your mouth!" Christian chuckles.
"Siblings," Nick rolls his eyes. "I'm glad I don't have any."
Michael and I giggle as Nick says that.
I tap Michael's arm and point at Christian and Ashley and he looks over at them as they hug each other lovingly and Christian's rubbing her stomach while he kisses her forehead.
"Aww. Reminds me of me and you." Michael whispers, smiling down at me.
"Yeah." I smile.
He kisses me softly and I smile up at him again as we pull away.
"How's your Thriller 25th Anniversary thing going?" I ask.
"Good, people are buying it up like crazy. I'm so happy with it."
"Well, that's great!" I smile.
The door opens and we turn around and see Rylee and Tommy with baby Jada.
"Hi!" I squeal, running over to my granddaughter.
"Nanny!!" She squeals as Rylee puts her down.
She runs into my arms and I hug her tightly as I pick her up.
"There's my girl! Oh, I missed you so much!" I say as she hugs me back.
"I missed you too, Nanny." She smiles.
"How are you guys?" I ask Rylee and Tommy as they smile at me and baby Jada.
"Great!" Tommy smiles.
"That's good. Jada, you wanna go see Grampy?" I coo at Jada and she nods.
I pass her to Michael and she giggles as he starts tickling her.
"There's my favourite granddaughter! How are you?" He coos as she giggles loudly.
"Good!" She giggles, squirming in his arms.
"That's good." He chuckles, kissing her cheek.
He puts her down and she runs into the living room. She squeals when she sees her aunt and uncle.
"She's so cute!" I giggle as I watch her climb onto the couch where Christian and Ashley are sitting.
She absolutely adores Christian and Ashley. And Ashley just loves her back as if they were aunt and niece through blood.
"Hey, girly! How are you?" Ashley coos, rubbing baby Jada's back.
"Good!" She squeals, making everyone laugh.
"How was the audition thing dad?" Rylee asks Michael.
"It was good. We chose the dancers and they seemed really happy about it." He nods.
"That's good." Rylee nods.
"So what's new with you two?" I ask.
"Oh, not much. We're thinking of trying for another baby." Tommy says.
"Really? For real?" Michael gasps, smiling widely.
"Yes, Dad. For real." Rylee giggles.
"Sorry. I just love being a Grampy." Michael chuckles.
"Oh, I know you do." I smile.
We all watch as baby Jada squirms around in her aunts and uncles arms.
