Chunin exams

Sakura's POV
I opened my eyes, only to be greeted by the bright morning sun rise. Sitting up, I rubbed my eye and looked around. I was in the hospital....again. I turned to find Itachi asleep on the couch. Getting out of bed, I stood wobbly and walked over to he couch. "Ne....Itachi....wake up..." I called and gently shook him. He didn't budge. "Itachi..." I called and shook him again. Suddenly, his hand gasped my wrist and pulled me on top of him.

I looked at him shocked, "Are you serious? Itachi!" I called trying to get out of his grasp. He grumbled and snaked his arms around my waist. "Go to sleep cherry blossom. It's early." He grumbled. I glanced at the time he was right. It was only five in the morning. It was warm, he felt so warm and welcoming. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

"Sakura...Sakura wake up." I groaned and rubbed my eyes. I was on top of something warm and comfy but yet it's hard. Wait. Hard? I opened my eyes to find Itachi awake and realized that his arms were still on my waist. I blushed furiously. "I-Itachi." I greeted and he let go of my waist and I got off him still blush. I probably looked like a tomato. I sat down on the hospital bed still red and kept on glancing at Itachi. He rubbed his head and yawned before looking at me.

"Sakura..." He said and got off the couch and walked over to me. He kneeled down on one knee and stared at me. "Go out with me..." He said. "Huh?" I asked as if I heard wrong. "Will you go out with me...?" He asked and stared into my eyes. I was lost for words after hearing what he just asked me. "I...I.." I closed my eyes and images of him helping me and caring for me flashed through my brain.

"I will..." I gave him a small smile. His eyes lit up like a candle and he picked me up before spinning me around until we both got dizzy. I giggled as we landed on the bed and I sighed. Glancing at the clock I saw that it was 7:54am. "Itachi!" I shrieked. "I need to go change for the chunin exams." I explained. "They start at 9:30 and I need to go pick up some weapons." I told him. "It's alright blossom, it's not like you are walking back and fourth." I blinked a few times before realising that he was right.

"Ahaha...whoops." A nurse came in and smiled at me. "How are you felling Haruno-san?" She asked. "Fine, a little shaky." She nodded and jotted down somethings on the clipboard at the end of the bed. She then walked over to check my chakra. "Your chakra level are alright, just don't use too much or you'll pass out." She explained. I nodded along. "Apart from that, just take some chakra pills every time after two jutsu. You can go check out now if you like." I nodded and thanked her before Itachi and I walked out to the entrance and he signed me out once again.

"Why can't you just use the chakra from the seal on your forehead?" Itachi asked. "This seal might obtain chakra, but I'll will only use it between life and death situations. Besides, after the exams, I'm going to need to start refilling the chakra into it." I sighed. "Well, I gotta go change...." I said and looked up at him. He smiled. "No goodbye kiss?" He asked as his smile turned into a small frown. "Awwe...fine." I giggled and kissed his cheeks before teleporting to my room. Placing the bag of pills that the nurse gave me down, I went to take a shower.

Getting out of the shower, I dressed in a red one piece with a dragon around it that went above mid thigh. I wore red and pink socks and put on black shoes with red on the bottom, I let my hair down and wore my hitaiate on my head. Slipping on a black and red glove, I went down stairs to greet the maids. "Ohayo!" I called before grabbing some fruits, plenty of sandwiches and a seven big bentos and sealed them into the scroll.

"Sakura-sama? You quick breakfast?" One of the maids asked and gave me two pieces of toast. "Thank you." I said before teleporting in front of the weapons shop. "Ohayo ojichan!" I called as I walked into the shop. "Oh! Ohayo Sakura-kun." The owner of the shop greeted back. "Here's your katana...I engraved a cherry blossom like you asked and your name on it. I also enhanced some chakra into it after sharpening it. Here you go!" He passed me a black sword holder. "How much ojichan?" I asked with a wide smile.

"Ohayo Yashiro-san." An arm slid around my waist and pulled me into a hard chest. We both turned to find Itachi standing there smiling. "Oh ohayo Itachi-kun....hmmm....are you two a thing now? You guys look good together." Ojichan muttered making me blush furiously. "Back to the subject..." I coughed. "It's on the house Saku-kun. You always come here and I thank that. Now don't you have the chunin exam? Hurry along." He shooed. "Arigatou ojichan!" I called as Itachi said bye and lead me out the door with his arms still around me. "Can I have some?" He gestured to my breakfast. I nodded and held a piece up for him to munch on.

"Well, I've got to go now. I have another mission in a while. I'll see you tomorrow my blossom, he kissed my cheeks before disappearing. He had walked me until outside the academy. Walking through the gates, I leaned on a near by tree with my katana on my back. "Sakura-chan!" Naruto yelled. I turned to see Naruto and Sasuke. "Ohayo." They both greeted. "Ohayo." I greeted back. "What's that Sakura-chan? A katana?" Naruto asked. "No it's totally a banana, dobe." Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Anyways, let's go." I said. I lead the way as Naruto stood on my left while Sasuke on my right. I did not want to be in the middle.

"It said that the exam's introduction are on the fifth floor..." Naruto read. I nodded and we walked up the first few flights. "Hey! Let us through!" People yelled. We turned to see two boys guarding a door and people arguing to get passed them. "Sakura-chan!" I turned around to the stairs to see Hinata and Ino's team here. "What's going on?" I asked as we pushed through the crowd. "This is the first examination room. They are not letting us through." One yelled and the other agreed. I bit my lip as I held in a laugh.

"Bwahahahaha!" I laughed and held my stomach. "Hahaha.... ok... ok.... hehe... sorry I just had to." I apologised. "Why are you laughing pinky!" One of the guys from the Wind village asked. "You guys are defiantly going to fail the chunin exams if you can't even see through this." I asked giggling this time. They shot me a confused look. "She's right, if you guys were counting the floors that you were going up on then you'd probably realize." Sasuke agreed. "Kai!" We said. The words on the plate on top of the room changed to 'Level 3 Room 4'. The other genins gasped. "Show off!" I sighed. I knew that voice all too well.

"You couldn't even see through it Karin so shut your trap." Ino spat. "Hmph...what's with the low chakra levels Haruno?" Karin asked me. I glared at her. So she's a sensory type too huh? "Well done on foreseeing our jutsu." The two boys transformed back into older men. Kamizuki Izumo and Hagane Kotetsu.

"What does it matter to you? Let's go." I said, we were stopped by another group. "What are you saying to this beautiful girl?" The guy that had shiny black hair, big eyes and wore a green jumpsuit yelled. "What is your name young beauty?" He asked. "Uh....Haruno Sakura...." I answered. He then spun around and kneeled down crying.

"Such a beautiful name for a beautiful woman like you! My name is Rock Lee and this is my team!" He called out. I looked behind his shoulder to see Hyuuga Neji and the girl that watches Hinata train sometimes. "Haruno-san. Uchiha Sasuke-san, Namikaze Naruto-san." Neji said formally. "My names Tenten. I'm a weapons master." We smiled at each other. "Sakura-chan....will you honour me by being my girlfriend?" Lee asked.

"Sorry but no." I asked before walked off to the next floor. "Please?" He asked. "No."

"Please?"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"Why?"

"No."

"Don't you like me?"

"As a friend."

"But I am-"

"An idiot."

"Yeah!....wait what?"

"Baka."

"Then marry me."

"No."

"Lee! Stop annoying her. She said no already. Sorry Sakura-san." Tenten apologised. I shook my head. "Don't worry about it. Call me Saku-chan if you like." I smiled before we entered the examination room. Looking around, I saw genins from all the different nations glaring at each other. "Hi there!" I turned to find a leaf ninja with grey hair. "My names Yakushi Kabuto." He greeted. I don't remember reading about him in the records. Suspicious.

I walked around with Tenten, Ino and Hinata while leaving the boys to talk. "Gaara, stop glaring. You don't want to kill someone and get yourself in trouble do you?" I heard a female's voice call. "Not my problem." A voice replied back. I turned to see a red hair guys from Suna with a sand gorge on his back. Gary of the Sand. (I'm currently editing this chapter, and remember the comment on this... So I'm going to leave it here. XD) I've read about him through some of the classified records that I could get my hands on.

I sighed and we walked back to the boys to find Kabuto reading some cards that were on the floor. We when reached them, he picked them up and put them back into a deck before putting it his pocket. I wonder what that was about. "Take your seats you brats! Hurry up!" Ibiki yelled. "As most of you know, I am Morino Ibiki, this is the chunin exams and ever year it changes due to the amount of people that fail them. This year, your first test is in the Forest of Death, where you all will have to collect two scrolls, last year it was Heaven and earth, this year it is Heaven and Chakra. You'll all have to make it to the the centre of the forest where other examiners will be waiting for your arrival as a team with the scrolls before the next test starts."

Everyone glanced at each other as silenced filled the room. "The scrolls are hidden somewhere in the forest of death, if you don't know, last year, we had twenty two teams that were killed in that forest. So if you want to resign, I suggest you leave now before things get ugly." I looked around to see many people older than us with pale faces. Slowly, the older people got out.

"Now we only have....42 teams. There are twenty scrolls. Good luck... Your next examiner will take you there. She should be he-" then the window smashed opened and a lady with purple hair flew in. "My name is Mitarashi Anko. I am your next examiner. Follow me." She said and walked out the door with us following her outside and near the gates of Konoha.

We arrived at a fenced forest with the signs, *☠Danger!☠* on it. "Ok, listen up....some of you know what happens in this forest. And most of you don't. You'll have to find your way through it while looking for the scrolls. Don't not. I repeat. DO NOT open the scrolls. You could spend days in this forest, but the time limit is four days max. After that, the genins that didn't make it will be escorted out. You start in five minutes, so get ready." She said before turning away tad walking to a table that was at the entrance. Turning to the boys, I realised that both Hinata and Ino's group was with us and Tenten's group coming towards us.

"Good luck. We've been here twice already." Tenten said. We nodded and shook hands. "It's a good thing I brought food." I sighed and they nodded. We turned to glance at the boys and sighed. Naruto and Lee were auguring while Sasuke and Neji were glaring at each other. Choji was chomping on chips while Shikamaru yawned. Shino had walked in circles looking at a flying bug while Akamaru and Kiba were chasing a squirrel that passed them. "Why do we have idiots in our groups" Ino asked. We all shrugged.

"Well, good luck." We said to each other as we dragged our teammates to get ready. "Let's get ready. Especially you Naruto. Don't muck around, you heard Ibiki, he said that twenty two teams was murdered or had died last year." I glared at him smiled sheepishly. "I won't let anyone hurt you." He said cockily. I sighed and face palmed. "Everyone ready?" Anko asked.

"Start!"
