"And you're sure?" Madara leaned back on the chair that originally belonged to Orochimaru, but he was dead, so why not.
"Hai." Zetsu bowed his head. "We're quite sure."
Madara put his chin in his hand and rubbed his forehead. "Just when I think that she was going to be a help in the future..." He stood up and nodded to Zetsu. "Okay. That'll be all."
Zetsu dipped his head and disappeared.
Madara closed his eyes and exhaled. "It must be done."

Itachi walked down the dimly lit hallways, thoughts swimming around in his head. He'd thought he'd heard Sarada's voice last night, along with someone else-- someone familiar. He'd gone into her room to check, but she had been asleep in her bed. His suspicions were a figment of his imagination, apparently.
"Sarada?" He asked, knocking on her door. She opened it with a quick, nervous smile.
"Ahh, Itachi-jii! Ohayo gozaimasu!" She called, walking back into the room.
"Good morning, Sarada." Itachi replied. His niece seemed nervous and skittish. She was definitely hiding something-- but normally she was better at it than this. "Is there something you need to say to me?"
"What?" Sarada laughed, a bead of sweat dripping down her face. "No, of course not. Was there something you needed, ojii-san?"
She sure was in a hurry to get him out, he noticed. "Sarada, stop lying to me."
Then the door opened. "Hi guys. Family reunion? And you didn't invite me?" Madara... great.
"Madara-ojii-sama." Sarada dipped her head. She sat on her bed. "What brings everyone to my room?"
"You go first." Madara looked at Itachi. Itachi sighed and opened his mouth.
"I'm just checking up on her." Itachi looked at his relative. "What about you? What are you doing here?"
Madara went silent for a little. He looked out the window, then at his relatives. "You know, Sarada, this room originally belonged to your father when he was staying here with Orochimaru." Sarada looked up in sudden interest. "He designed it so if Sasuke ever came to his senses and tried to escape..."
Sarada's window snapped shut, and then disappeared entirely.
"... He couldn't let his vessel go, you know." Madara said thoughtfully.
The door slammed shut and the lock closed tight.
"And now that we have a little traitor in our midst, I can't exactly let you go, can i, Sarada-chan?" Madara said, looking at the girl. Sarada's eyes widened in realization and she turned to Itachi in fear.
"What?" Itachi asked, partly out of confusion, partly an act. He looked at Sarada in fake shock.
"Your cute little niece? She was seen with a Konoha Shinobi." Madara looked at Itachi. "Are you double-crossing me as well, Itachi?"
Itachi looked at the terrified girl and sighed. Thanks to someone she was apparently talking to last night, his cover was blown. "Yes." He stated firmly, activating his Sharingan.
Madara sighed, disappointed. "Both of you? You had such promise. So young."
Itachi pulled out a kunai and watched the elder Uchiha, but before he could attack Madara, the man disappeared. Then a few seconds after that, footsteps were heard a second after that, outside the room. Then the door vanished. They were trapped.
"Well." Sarada groaned, laying back in bed. "Hasn't this been an interesting morning."
"Sarada, be quiet." Itachi growled at her. "Who snuck in here to talk to you?"
Sarada kept her mouth shut. Itachi glared at her. "What? You told me to be quiet."
"Sarada, now is not the time for games." Itachi scowled, getting to his feet and pacing around the room. "It was Boruto, wasn't it. That's why you're so hesitant to tell me anything."
Sarada tried to deny it, but pretty much knew that Itachi had her all figured out. "Yeah it was."
"What did you guys talk about?" Itachi raised his eyebrow knowingly.
"Lots of stuff. I introduced him to his grandpa, by the way." Sarada said. "That was really heart warming. Minato-ojii-sama really seemed to like him."
"Yeah?" Itachi asked, walking around the room, looking for a way out, Sharingan activated.
"Hey, let me help you." Sarada said, jumping off the bed and joining him in searching for a door or something. Activating her Sharingan, she made her uncle sit down and she looked over it with fresh eyes.
"You know, I'm not totally helpless." Itachi said, almost complaining. "I feel much better after that surgery."
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean you can't wear yourself out again. That sickness thing might come back. It's best you wait a few months to start over using your Sharingan again, understood?" Sarada asked, a sense of finality in her tone. In other words-- Itachi had no choice. For the next few months, he was under house arrest. Tsunade would refuse to let him go on missions until he was fully recovered.
Fantastic.
He appreciated his niece's concern, but Itachi was a grown man, fully capable of taking care of himself. He told her that, and she scowled at him.
"Listen here, Uncle Itachi. The only reason your condition was that serious was because of decisions you made by yourself. Your eyes were torn up, and you were almost blind. You were dying. You have been on your own since you were 13, so I don't blame you, you didn't have a mother to tell you to rest, but no way in hell am I letting that happen again, and there is nothing you can do to stop me. So, if someone tells you to rest, it's for your own good. And if you care about yourself at ALL in that selfless heart of yours, you'll listen to me and take care of yourself. I am expecting cousins in the future, which means you have to take care of yourself. And sooner or later, you and Izumi-baa had better get busy. AM I CLEAR?!"
Itachi resisted the urge to salute her and shout, 'Hai, Sarada-sama!' He didn't do that though. He blushed a little and glared at her. "Sarada, Izumi and I are just friends."
"Just friends my arse." Sarada turned back to the walls, scanning them for any sign of... well, anything, really. "Cousins, ojii-chan. Cousins."
Then she spotted a weak spot in the jutsu. "Uncle Itachi, over here!" Itachi turned over to her, then stood up and walked over to Sarada. Activating his Sharingan, despite Sarada's protests, he noticed the same flaw in chakra.
"Perfect." He nodded. "Now we have to hit it here perfectly with concentrated chakra, and we should be good."
"Hai." Sarada chirped, looking closely at the flaw. "I can do that."

"It's time." Zetsu informed the thoughtful Uchiha. "Let's perform the jutsu."
"No." He said to Zetsu. "Madara would mess up my plans. I can't revive him now."
Zetsu eyed him. "You know it's time."
"I..." Madara sighed, then removed his mask. "I can't anymore. Madara will have to get back in his own way, or not at all. I'm not bringing him back anymore."
Zetsu nodded.
Then he took control of Obito's body.

"Okay, Sarada, are you ready?" Itachi asked, gripping his arm. The Chidori wasn't easy to copy, even with his Sharingan, but when Sarada showed him, it became second nature. This is Kakashi's jutsu, huh? It's amazing. Terrifying, especially if it was aimed at me, but amazing.
"Okay, are YOU ready, Itachi-jii?" Sarada asked, her own Chidori sparking. There were only four people in the world that knew how to use that jutsu. Kakashi, Sasuke, Sarada, and now Itachi.
"Yeah." Itachi nodded. "We'll go on ten. Give ourselves time for the jutsu to build."
Sarada nodded.
"Ichi." Itachi began. "Ni. San. Yon. Go. Roku. Nana. Hachi. Ku. Jyuu."
"Go!" Sarada shouted, and she and Itachi unanimously shoved their Chidori into the wall.
Looking around, they expected a big difference, or a really obvious change. Instead there was a hole in the wall, a door and a window.
"Good." Itachi muttered, walking up to the door. It was still locked, but that wasn't a huge deal. "SUSANO'O!" He shouted, and a big, red giant began to float around him. Sarada gaped in awe, then began to try to touch the warrior. Itachi swung his fist, and the door came down. The giant warrior disappeared, and Sarada looked down.
"That was so cool, Uncle Itachi!!! Teach me how to do that!!! Pleeeease?!" Sarada asked, following her uncle out the door.
"Forgive me, Sarada. Maybe later." Itachi said, almost out of instinct.
He lead the way down the hallway and to the nearest exit. "We have to get out of here and find your father, then we need to get you home before the real battle starts. I have a feeling Konoha is going to need me in the next few days, so I'll ask Tsunade if I can come back to the village. If she doesn't let, I'll take your father's job, so that maybe you can have some stability in your life. If she does let, I'll do a bunch of charity work and stuff to get everyone to trust me again."" Itachi opened his mouth slightly to breathe, and peeked his head around the corner. All clear. He thought, and rounded the corner.
"Okay." Sarada nodded. She knew her uncle was dead set on making things up with the village. If this was how he wanted to do it, who was she to stand in his way? She did have one condition, however. "But if you do take Papa's job, you have to swear you will visit me a lot. Otherwise I'll never forgive you."
"Deal." Itachi said, sounding almost out of breath. "Ready to go meet up with everybody?"
Sarada exhaled. Her uncle seemed to accept the condition. That would make things significantly easier. Now she wouldn't have to worry as much. And now she would have what she'd yearned for most of her life-- her father. She was so grateful, but at the same time it wasn't determined yet. Tsunade-obaa-sama may chose differently, and that could mess up her plans. But even then, as long as Itachi and her Papa were safe, she was okay.
"Yeah I am."

Obito gasped and doubled over, clutching his stomach. Now Madara was alive again and right in front of Obito.
"Ahh, Obito." Madara snickered. "It's been a long time, eh?"
"Too long." Obito agreed, standing straight again and bowing to Madara. "Welcome back, Madara-sama."
Zetsu had disappeared somewhere along the line, leaving Obito alone with this creep. He should've stayed dead, in Obito's opinion, but if Madara heard, it would be off with his head, so he kept his personal feelings aside. It had been forever since the Kyuubi attacked Konoha, and Obito had hid his personal feelings well since before then. In the days of Team Minato, however...
Not so much.
He still missed his old team that consisted of the Yondaime, Hatake Kakashi, the prodigy, Rin Nohara, beautiful, kind girl that Obito had fallen in love with. And then there was Obito, the talentless, according to Kakashi. Even Kushina-san had been a part of the Team in a way. She was always there to support them, and it always meant a lot to Obito, even though he rarely showed it .
Compared to Kakashi, Obito had been nothing back then. Now, he could rival the Hatake. Perhaps beat him, but that was a battle for another time.
"Are you plans the same as they used to be, Obito?" Madara asked, a wicked grin coming onto his face.
Obito dipped his head. "Hai."
"Perfect. Now, I hear we have a little Uchiha in our midst, eh? Shall we pay her a friendly visit, or a not-so-friendly chat?" Madara asked. He's asking me who's side she is on. A very clever way to do it, too.
Obito thought about it. He could tell the Uchiha that Sarada had betrayed him. Madara would kill her, and the future generation would be... He shuddered at the thought. Or, he could save the little Uchiha Heiress, and save the future. Maybe she would grow up to be Hokage as she bragged she was going to be.
Thinking back to the younger days, when things were pure and innocent, and all Obito ever dreamed was to be Hokage, and to be acknowledged by the village and by Kakashi as the best ninja, Obito almost sighed wistfully. He missed those days.
But Minato-sensei is dead, and Kushina-san was killed by Obito himself. Rin was killed by Kakashi, so Team Minato was in shambles. And now the only two left, Obito and Kakashi, were split, marching toward an inevitable fight to the death.
No, Obito had nothing to wish for.
But Sarada reminded him of Rin, her kindness and sense of humor throughout the darkest times brought back so many memories. She also reminded Obito of the Kyuubi Jinchuriki, who always declared that he was the future Hokage. He just never gave up. Obito almost admired him for it. Sarada even reminded Obito of Kakashi. She had a calm and cool manner he knew she could've only gotten from her dad, yet a bubbly side that reminded Obito of himself as a child.
So the question still remained.
What do I tell him?
He's going to kill me if I lie.
He's going to kill her if I don't.
"She's on our side. If you hurt one hair on her head, I will rip you to shreds."
Madara smirked. "Well. This is getting interesting, don't you think?"
