If you die I'll kill you
(The title is something one of my Brazilian cousins would always say to me. Don't question the logic of it, guys. I tried, believe me. Anyway, dominos. It's a game I play with my Brazilian side of the family, almost every time we see each other. It's basically a tradition at this point. The point of the game is to get rid of the dominos. It should become a little more clear in the following chapter.)
"I'm hungry." Boruto proclaimed.
"I don't care." Sarada replied. "Go complain to Aunt Izumi."
"I'm still hungry. It won't change a thing to complain to Aunt Izumi." Boruto said, laying a domino onto the Train.
The Uchiha heiress glared at the dominos fiercely. "A three? Really? Go and mess up my game, eh, Boruto?! And guess what? I still don't care."
"Didn't we just eat though?" Itachi asked, looking up from his line of dominos. He was winning, of course. He had two dominos left, and they were both going, in order, on his line. His win was pretty much guaranteed.
"Boruto is like a lion. He is stupid, blonde, and eats consistently." Sarada put down a domino on her line, since Boruto had messed up the Mexican Train for her. She would've been able to get rid of a bunch of points, using that Train. But Boruto and his threes...
"HEY, I'M A GROWING BOY, DATTEBASA! DON'T JUDGE ME!" Boruto shouted, picking up the domino he was going to use, since it was his turn. Two choices. His line, or the Mexican Train... Mexican Train. Maybe he can mess up Sarada's game more.
"Still, you eat like a horse." Sarada sighed. Then she saw his move. "I SWEAR, BORUTO UZUMAKI I WILL MURDER YOU SOMEDAY. AND NO ONE WILL MISS YOU."
Itachi smirked slightly as he slid his second to last domino in it's place. Sarada sweat-dropped, and Boruto pouted. "You two are like an old married couple."
"Hm? Well, you would know, ne Uncle Itachi?" Boruto grinned at his clever comeback.
"Oh, shut up." Itachi said. "Sarada, it's your turn."
"I can see that." Sarada considered her options. "I gotta draw." She reached over to the pile of discarded dominos. "Crap. Boruto put in a twelve on the Mexican Train. My line has a three. Itachi's closed, Boruto is closed..." She picked one of the little white tiles, and turned it over to the colored side. The domino was split in the middle, like they all were, and one one side was a... eleven, and the other was a two. "Wow. The domino gods hate me. I'm open." She put a penny over her line, indicating that anyone can play on it.
Boruto grinned. "Imma help Sarada out." He lifted a pearly-white domino and it hovered over Sarada's line threateningly. The only thing Sarada saw was the telltale red of the number three. She began shaking her head violently, but Boruto put it down onto her line, finalizing the dastardly deed. Sarada now had an ugly three staring up at her.
"I swear Boruto, you and your threes." Sarada looked at the six dominos she had left. "I don't have a three. I'm still open."
"Good. Because it's not your turn." Itachi put down the last domino and his face broke into a grin. "I told you, I dominate at this game."
"AGAIN! I CALL A REMATCH. YOU'VE WON FIVE GAMES STRAIGHT, ITACHI, THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN JUST BE THAT GOOD. YOU'VE GOT TO BE CHEATING, YA KNOW?!" Boruto shouted angrily, throwing the last three dominos be had at the table.
"Boruto," Sarada sighed. "He's not cheating. There isn't an easy way to cheat at dominos. His Sharingan is off. He's just that good."
"Hear that, Boruto? I'm just that good." Itachi smirked wider.
"Okay, no need to gloat, ojii-san." Sarada looked at her uncle wearily.
Itachi nodded, bit his lip, smiling, but sat back in his chair and watched the thirteen year old blonde pout like a baby. Then he got a little pale, and his breathing became labored.
"Itachi, are you okay?" Boruto looked at Itachi, concerned.
Itachi closed his eyes and nodded. "I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
Sarada noticed everything that happened, and her small smile disappeared. Itachi wasn't fine, and she was definitely worried. "Do you need me to soothe the inflammation in your eyes?"
Itachi chuckled, but shook his head. "Honestly, Sarada, I am fine."
Sarada raised her eyebrows suspiciously. "I don't believe you. Please, let me? I'll feel better if you let me."
Itachi's smile disappeared. "Fine."
Sarada did it. And then... Itachi collapsed in her arms.
"ITACHI-JII?"

Sasuke was exhausted. Not tired, exhausted. Not only was he traveling all day, but he was going with his older self, two dobes (You know who they are), three bossy ladies (Sakura, younger Sakura, and Hinata) and five more annoying people (Shisui, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Shizune, Kakashi). The ONLY person that wasn't that annoying was younger Hinata, who wasn't generally that annoying. Just really shy. "Are we almost there?" He asked Kakashi.
"Almost." Kakashi assured him. "Do we have the stuff?"
"Yeah." Shisui called. He was wearing a giant backpack. "If the thousand pounds on my back is 'the stuff' than yeah."
"It's not even a thousand pounds." Tsunade shouted back at them from her position in the front. "You're just being a baby."
"Says the creepy lady with super strength." Shisui muttered to Sasuke.
"Shut up," Tsunade called back in a sing-song voice.
Shisui did just that. Sasuke snickered. Shisui the Teleporter, young Uchiha prodigy, was scared of a crazy strong old lady. Figures.
"There it is." Shisui pointed to the trees ahead. "See it?"
There was Shisui's house, barely visible. Then an angry shout was heard from the house. Something about Itachi winning five times in a row? Sasuke smirked. "Now they feel my pain."
"What?" Shisui asked, laughing.
"No, it's just Itachi." Sasuke shook his head. "How he was just good at everything."
"Yeah yeah." Shisui nodded. "That's probably how it seems, but he isn't as perfect as you think he is."
Then... a scream.
"That was not angry," Older Naruto's eyes widened. "And it sounded like Sarada."
Older Sasuke and Younger Sasuke looked at each other. Then they took off.
Kakashi sighed. "Are they always getting into trouble? And why is it always Sarada?"
"I don't know." Sakura sighed. "But we'd better hurry."
"Good idea." Shisui said. "Lets go."

Boruto was in full bossy mode. Sarada was crying, cradling her uncle and trying to use the medical chakra to get him in stable condition. Izumi, who had played a couple rounds of dominos but left to do the dishes came running in with a wet towel, and began wiping Itachi's heating up head with it.
"Is he okay?" She kept asking Sarada, who shook her head no. Itachi was dying, like he'd predicted.
"I can't believe..." Boruto ran a hand through his hair. "He looked so alive!"
"Everyone looks alive before they die!" Sarada looked at him.
Crap. Sarada's crying. I hate it when girls cry. Boruto mentally hit himself. This girl had a reason to cry. He would be upset too if it was his uncle dying.
(*sobs for three hours straight* RIP NEJI!)
"Sarada." He put his hand on her shoulder. The girl looked up at him, her onyx eyes filled with murderous intent. "Don't cry. Everything will be fine." He ran his hands up and down her hoodie sleeves in a soothing manner. "He will survive."
Sarada sniffed. "How can you be sure?"
Boruto smiled sadly. "He's an Uchiha. He's tough. He's Itachi. He won't go out that easily. Not when he has so much to live for."
"Thanks Boruto." Sarada sighed, looking down. She took off her glasses and wiped her eyes, ruffling her hair so it wasn't in her face. Why is she so pretty...? Boruto thought, face getting a little red.
Then the front door flew open, and Boruto launched himself far, far away from Sarada like a cat getting sprayed with water.
"WHERE'S SARADA?!" Older Sasuke shouted. "If she's hurt, I swear to KAMI I will kill something."
"Papa," Sarada looked at her dad in surprise. "I'm over here. And it isn't me that's hurt." She gestures to Itachi, lying on the couch. Older Sasuke's Sharingan and Rinnegan widened, and he knelt beside his brother.
"Listen." Boruto said seriously, for possibly the first time in his life. (This has been neither confirmed nor denied by Hinata Uzumaki, a reliable source in the matter.) "Where is Aunt Sakura, Uncle Sasuke?"
"She's coming." He said, sending his younger self out with a nod of his head. "My younger self went to get her. Sarada, Boruto, Izumi, what happened?"
Izumi looked up at the older Sasuke. "I honestly don't know, older-Sasuke-kun. I was doing the dishes, then it sounded like someone collapsed, and Sarada screamed. I came running in, and..." she pointed at Itachi, a terrified look coming onto her face. "I'm no med-nin, Sasuke," She began slowly, "But Itachi is dying. What's wrong with him? He didn't seem to be using his Sharingan, but his eyes are..."
"They're destroyed." Sarada sighed. "Papa, I was trying to soothe his eyes, trying to help him, you know? But then... Papa..." She hugged her father and tried not to cry. She didn't want to look weak or anything in front of Boruto. She'd already cried way too much. When they finally get home, this was going to ruin her. Boruto would spread everything that happened in this place, and she would never be able to step outside of the Uchiha compound ever again.
"I'm sorry, Princess. I'm sorry I wasn't here." Sasuke whispered into her hair. "I had to get the stuff to help him. Mama is coming, she's almost here, okay?"
"Sasuke? Is Sarada okay? Where's Boruto, dattebayo?" Older Naruto came into the door and looked around. He saw his son and sighed in relief, and when he saw Sarada, he became totally at ease.
"Naruto, where is Sakura? And we'll need Tsunade, too." Sasuke pulled away from Sarada and said to his friend.
"She's coming. She said she felt bad and stopped to help Shisui." Naruto chuckled.
"No, we need her now." Sasuke said sharply, noticing his brother was becoming paler. "I can't lose him, Naruto... not after what I did in real life."
Naruto, who still wasn't aware of what was going on, turned around, and there was Itachi, lying on the couch, all 'dead looking', according to him. "Oh. I'm really sorry this is happening to you again, teme, --ttebayo. I can't imagine how you must feel." Naruto went Sympathetic Hokage mode on Sasuke
e, so he wouldn't get hit with a Chidori. That would be bad.
"Shut up." Sasuke muttered.
"Sasuke-kun!" Sakura ran in, looking scared. "Is Sarada okay? Who's hurt? Your younger self came back and told me to hurry up. Well, Shishou and I, ne?" She looked at Itachi, collapsed on the couch, and ran over to him without a second question. "Sasuke, Naruto." She got serious. "Take him to one of the rooms. It's time for the surgery."

"This is really bad." Tsunade sighed. Sakura rested her dead-tired head on her teacher's shoulder. "I don't know how long..."
"Please, shishou, tell me, is there a chance of him surviving?" Sakura asked, lifting her head and moving to sit down. "This is my daughter's uncle we're talking about. We would all be devastated. Especially Sasuke, who watched Itachi die three times now."
"I know. I understand." Tsunade nodded. "I think Shizune is still in the room, and checking up on him. He's sunk into a deep coma, that, frankly.... I'm not sure he's going to make it out of."
"We collapsed the lung, though." Shizune walked in. "If he can wake up, we saved him."
"I see." Sakura sighed. "So we've saved him, it's just up to him to wake up."
"I think it works kind of like a genjutsu, honestly, Sakura. His mind is being held back. He's showing the same signs of a person under a genjutsu. Thanks to Sarada, his chakra levels aren't as defeated."
"Good. So to get out of his own mind..." Sakura thought about it. "It'll be like breaking a genjutsu. Thank you for everything, Shishou. I don't appreciate you enough."
Tsunade smiled kindly at her student's older self. Sakura had ended up great. Tsunade was really proud of her. "You were an excellent student, Sakura."
"Thank you." Sakura dipped her head. She smiled at Shizune, and left the room. "I think I should go see him."
She went into the room and bowed to the sleeping Uchiha. "Hello, Itachi-san. I wanted to thank you. I never got to when you were awake. You took good care of Sasuke, and something tells me his kindheartedness that he tries so hard to hide comes from you. Am I right?" She chuckled a little. "He also has a selflessness that can only be yours. I never really knew you well. Even as kids, I only ever saw you. But still, you seemed to be an amazing person."
It felt like if Itachi was awake right now, he would be smiling. Sakura wasn't sure how she knew. It just seemed to be something he would do.
"I should've payed more attention to my surroundings, huh? When your world revolves around Sasuke and only Sasuke, you miss out on the important stuff." Sakura laughed. "But I think I always noticed you. Sasuke's big brother. My mother and father used to tell stories at the dinner table about seeing the most powerful Uchiha alive today, and I never knew it was you until you killed your clan.
"I don't know if this makes sense, but in the Academy, even, they bragged about how an Uchiha had made it so far up on the scores, he graduated a few years early and moved onto be a Chunin, then later a Jonin. We heard everything about you. And you should've seen Sasuke's face. It was always a mix of pride and jealousy... I don't know.
"So you see, Itachi-san, I'm over here expecting you to be a genius ninja. You don't look much like a genius asleep like that. I mean, you look very good, but... well, I think you get me. Anyway, so if you really are a genius, you'll break out of that coma, or I guess genjutsu. And speaking to you as a sister-in-law, you are my family. And I take family very seriously. So if you die, I'll kill you."
Sakura then smiled. "I believe in you." She bowed again.
She got that feeling again... the one where she knew how he would react if he were up.
"Thank you, Sakura."
