Sarada reluctantly followed her uncle back to her prison. She wanted to race after her family and hug them all, but she had a cover to keep.

"Does Madara know you're sneaking out to meet them?" She finally asked Itachi, barely able to cover up her embarrassment at being caught. She hated it when Itachi caught her. It happened whenever she tried to hide anything from him. He seemed to see right through her.

"Yes." Itachi nodded from his position ahead of her. "He authorised it. He thinks I'm working as a double agent for him. Little does he know that I'm playing him instead of them."

"So does that make you a triple agent?" Sarada asked, hurrying to catch up with Itachi.

Itachi shrugged. "I guess so. Sasuke and Kakashi told me to gather information while I was there while defending you. I'll try, but I'm only here to watch you."

Sarada looked down. He could be safe and sound and with Younger Papa right now, but he's here with me instead. I guess Papa was right about him being the most selfless person he'd ever met.

"Hey," Itachi stopped and turned to her. "I know what you're thinking. You better stop that right now, young lady."

Sarada stopped with him and looked up into his deep onyx eyes. He didn't have and playfulness in them anymore. He was serious. "Why? It's true."

"Just because I've suffered doesn't mean you need to." Itachi turned around and started the path again. "So stop thinking that. Now."

"H-hai, Itachi-jii." Sarada muttered, following him. Silently, she mustered the courage to continue. "Y-you know, I'm a big girl now."

"We're not going over this again, Sarada." His tone was final-- the discussion was definitely over.

"Fine." Sarada muttered. She was very angry, but she knew better than to mess with Itachi when he decided something.

How you might ask?

Well, let's just say in the past weeks of being with dead Hokage, Akatsuki, and Madara Uchiha, she relied on her uncle a lot. And when that happened, they tended to have arguments. Not unlike the one they had before Itachi left the building.

And who won said arguments?

Itachi. It was always Itachi. He always had just the right piece of information that would knock Sarada's attack down. It infuriated her greatly.

"So how do you like being in the traitors' club?" Itachi asked, his voice tense. Sarada could tell he was struggling to not be angry with her.

"I'm a spy, not a traitor." Sarada muttered.

"Not according to your family. Sasuke and Sakura are distressed that you have left them for a life of evil. Sasuke especially."

"I haven't left them for evil." Sarada muttered again.

"Well it's not like they know that. You prohibited me from telling them in the case of them finding you or me. I didn't. All i said was that you were okay."

"You shouldn't have said even that." Sarada said. "You could've given me away. We're already cutting it close with your ' super secret meetings'."

"They raised you. They deserve more than that." Itachi told her.

"I know." Sarada sighed, looking away. "I'm just... I'm just not sure I can give them more than that if I want to keep my cover."

Itachi nodded. "I've arranged for me to be a double agent. Not you. You aren't even supposed to know what I'm doing."

《¤》《▪》《¤》《▪》《¤》《▪》《¤》《▪》《¤》《▪》

Sarada sighed and lay down on her bed. She'd reported where she'd been --training, she said-- and gone to bed early. Itachi had stayed to give Madara the info he'd found out about when he had the little 'chat' with everyone.

The nap Sarada hadn't taken a few hours earlier bugging her, and she genuinely wanted to sleep. Not to mention she was exhausted. But when she closed her eyes, something felt wrong-- like something was right in front of her, yet she couldn't see it. Like she was missing something important.

She decided that she needed sleep, and closed her eyes determinedly. "I have to get some sleep." She complained quietly.

Evening out her breaths, she focused on the darkness, and chanted light light light light light over and over again. Soon enough, she was asleep. She'd found that the trick had worked more often when she focused, so she was pleased that it worked this time.

Then a hand was over her mouth. Exactly like when she had been kidnapped by Deidara. Her eyes flew open and she screamed into the hand. She kicked her attacker off her, activated her Sharingan and started the hand signs for the Chidori.

"Sarada! Calm down!!!" A familiar voice whispered, pained. "Jesus... have you really forgotten your best friend in so little time?!"

"Boruto?!" Sarada whisper-shouted. "What are you doing here?!"

"I'm here to bring you back, duh!" Boruto rolled his bright blue eyes in the darkness of Sarada's room. He planted himself on the foot of her bed and stared at her expectantly.

"Not possible." Sarada hissed. "I'm better off here than with you idiots."

Boruto blinked. "What?"

"You heard me, dobe. I'm not coming home. Too bad." Sarada smirked, sitting back on the headboard of her bed.

"What?" Boruto repeated, seemingly in some kind of shock.

Sarada sighed. "I'm never coming home." Boruto broke out of the shock and started to protest, but he was interrupted by Sarada. "I'm progressing here more quickly than I was with them. Madara is teaching me..." she got a farway look on her face and opened her fist, staring at it intently. "so many things." She snapped it shut so quickly, Boruto could barely see it being done.

"SARADA." Boruto groaned. He leaned forward and grabbed her closed fists and uncurled them in his hands. He gripped them tightly, and inhaled her strawberry scent. After weeks of separation, he was finally with his best friend again. "You know this isn't the best place to be... so please, come home with me."

"Even if I wanted to, I have a job here." Sarada said, voice turning to stone. She could pull her hands away from him, kick him out, chidori him, but she left her hands in his. She could feel her façade slipping-- all she wanted to do was hug Boruto. She refrained from doing so.

"What is it? What's so important that you can't come home to us?" Boruto asked quietly. He adjusted his knees until he was criss-cross across from her.

Sarada looked up at him, and when her onyx eyes met his sky blue ones, she looked away quickly, biting her lip. "I know you were talking with my uncle."

Boruto's eyes widened. "O-Oh." He hadn't known Sarada was there as well. He had been tracking Itachi, not the Uchiha heiress. "How?"

"Training." Sarada looked at him with stone cold eyes. "With Madara."

"Huh?"

"It's making me better." Sarada giggled, a little crazily. Then her eyes solidified, and she seemed to be back to normal. "By the way, the grandfather you always wanted to meet? The great Fourth Hokage? I spar with him every day."

Boruto's mouth dropped. "You're serious."

"Deadly." Sarada smirked wider. "Now you understand why I don't want to leave?"

"Show me him." Boruto said, all emotion aside. "Take me to him."

Sarada's eyebrows raised, but she obliged, standing up. "Follow me. This place is pretty big, and you don't want to get lost in here. If the Akatsuki find you, they'll either eat you, kill you or sacrifice you to Jashin. Got it?"

Boruto gulped, but followed her.

Mitsuki blinked. One minute he was standing in front of Sasuke, the next he was laying on his back on Hokage Mountain. The sun was going down, and at Sarada's house the party continued, Kiba breaking out the drinks.

"Okay." Mitsuki frowned and closed his eyes. "That's part one of the mission accomplished."

"Mitsuki, I need you to listen to me and listen closely, got it?" Sasuke asked, placing his hands on the kid's shoulders. "I'm going to send you back to the future, and you have to find Tsunade-sama and Kakashi. I need you to tell them everything that happened here, understand?"

Mitsuki nodded. "What specifically do I tell them?"

"Where we are, what's happened, everything. Got it? Tell them some things might be a little... weird when we come back." Sasuke said, thinking about what needed said. "I think that's it. Tell them who all is here, and what all we changed."

"Okay." Mitsuki nodded. That means lots of things. Uchiha Itachi is alive, Jiraiya-sama is alive, Madara was revealed earlier, Sasuke and Naruto had their arms back, many more things. He might have to write them down.

"Okay. I'm here now." Mitsuki stood up, opened his eyes, and started the journey down the mountain. "I might as well get a head start." He started running, making good time.

(And that, ladies and gentlemen, was how Orochimaru's son ended up flying down a mountain head first.)

He narrowly avoided hitting Metal Lee and Sumire on accident, and Inojin ended up with a scrape on his knee from when he was pushed aside by Mitsuki. Mitsuki was running by a bar when-- wait a minute... blonde pig-tails?

"Ah, Tsunade-sama!" Mitsuki went into the bar and sat on a stool beside the lady.

"Hey, kid, you're not supposed to be in here!" The bartender complained.

"My apologies. But I really must talk with Tsunade-sama, sir." Mitsuki dipped his head.

Shizune, who was reading a book beside Tsunade, lifted her head. "Ahh, Mitsuki. Hello. I'm afraid you've caught her at the wrong time-- I've started giving her 30 minutes to drink, and she normally downs inhumane levels of alcohol this time of day. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"I must talk with Tsunade-sama and Kakashi-san." Mitsuki repeated, looking at Shizune.

Shizune nodded. "Does this have anything to do with Sarada's disappearance earlier? Lady Tsunade won't admit it, but she is worried sick about Sakura-chan and Sarada-chan."

"Yes." Mitsuki nodded. "Tsunade-sama, it appears that they have traveled back in time."

Tsunade's head raised. "Who?" She asked sluggishly.

"Sakura-san and Sarada." Mitsuki supplied, patiently waiting for a reaction from the lady.

Tsunade's eyes widened and she burst out laughing. "I see. Thi'sa prank. It's prank-the-drunk Friday, huh?"

"Today is Saturday, Tsunade-sama." Shizune remarked.

"YA THINK I CARE? FRIDAY SOUNDS BETTER." Tsunade shouted, throwing her cup of sake at Shizune. "YOU HONESTLY THINK PRANK-THE-DRUNK SATURDAY SOUNDS AS GOOD AS FRIDAY?! WHA'S WRONG WI'YOU, SHIZUNE?!"

"Tsunade-sama, thinking that Friday is better than Saturday doesn't change the day." Shizune replied patiently, only a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"YOU'RE DĀMN RIGHT IT DOES! I'M THE MOTHEREFFING FIFTH HOKAGE. IF I SAY IT'S SATURDAY, IT'S GO'DAMN SATURDAY!!!"

This is gonna be tough... Mitsuki thought, sweatdropping.

《¤》《▪》《¤》《▪》《¤》《▪》《¤》《▪》《¤》《▪》

"Are you sure it's the Fourth?"

"Positive."

"How do you know?"

"I just do."

"How can I be sure this isn't some kind of sick prank?"

"Because I'm not you, Boruto."

"Are you really sure it's the Fourth?"

"I don't know, Boruto, are you sure we breathe air?"

"Okay, fair point. But do you have--"

"Boruto, ask me one more question and I will leave you in Hidan's room."

Boruto remained quiet the rest of the way there. Finally Sarada stopped in front of a door. "So is this his--?"

"Boruto I swear to God--"

"Sarada?" The door opened, and out stepped a blonde haired, blue eyed man wearing gray sweatpants, socks and a blue long sleeved shirt. He was slipping on his Hokage robe, and rubbing his eyes. "Is something wro-- who's this?" Minato's eyes widened with interest.

"Minato-ojii-sama, meet your grandson, Boruto Uzumaki." Sarada grinned, grabbing the Fourth's arm and dragging him out the door.

Boruto seemed to be frozen, staring at Minato. "You're Minato Namikaze?"

"You're this Boruto I hear so much about." Minato smiled. "Naruto's son, right?"

"Naruto's dad, right?" Boruto countered, a smile inching onto his face.

"Yeah." Minato grinned. "You and I would have so much fun together. Lemme guess, you like pranking people, right?"

Boruto laughed. "Yeeeppp."

"Have you pranked your dad before?" Minato asked, knowing where this conversation was going.

"Yeeeeppp." Boruto smirked. "It's hilarious."

"You ever tried painting the Hokage monument before?" Minato asked.

"Yep!" Boruto chirped. "He always gets so mad."

"Okay, the way to get him MORE mad would be to mess his own face up. I suggest a mustache-- a big one. And for Hashirama, put in some spectacles, and for Tobirama you'll want a booger hanging down his nose and Hiruzen would have a--" He thought about it. "Okay, paint him as a monkey. He hates it. As for me-- you wouldn't vandalize your own grandfather, would you?" His eyes twinkled.

Boruto looked down and scuffed the floor with his foot. "I mean, not anymore."

"WEAK!" Minato whispered loudly.

Boruto stared at him in surprise. "What?"

"I'm expecting a full makeover when you get back, understood?" Minato smirked.

"Deal!" Boruto brightened up immediately. "See, Sarada? I have the Fourth Hokage's permission, so you can't stop me." He stuck his tongue out at her.

"Well the soon-to-be 8th Hokage DOESN'T give you permission." Sarada said. "And don't do that, it's childish."

"You're just gonna let Sarada be Hokage?" Minato grinned. He and Sarada had talked about it, and he totally supported her. He was just teasing with Boruto.

"Yeah," Boruto nodded. "It's a sacrifice, but I think I want to be like Uncle Sasuke instead."

"Sasuke... that's Fugaku's son..." Minato silently chanted, closing his eyes. "Itachi's little brother. Okay, I respect that."

The three of them sat in the hallway, and they talked and talked about the future and what the Yondaime was missing. Himawari was a very popular topic, as Boruto and Sarada explained the cute little Uzumaki princess in full detail.

"Guys... it's three in the morning." Minato looked at the yawning kids. Sarada's eyes were droopy, and Boruto looked like he was going to pass out.

"Okay. I'm going back to my room." Sarada stood up and stretched. "Goodnight, Minato-ojii-sama."

"No, you're coming home with me." Boruto yawned following her. "Bye, grandpa! See you later."

"I'm going to sleep is what. And you have to leave. Itachi comes in to check on me in the morning, so if he finds you passed out in there, hell will rain down." Sarada said bluntly.

"Hmph." Boruto frowned. "Yeah, tommorow's forecast is cloudy with a chance of hell."

"Get out." Sarada sighed, opening the doors to her room and heading straight for the window. She opened the windows, and gestured for him to go out them.

Boruto pouted. "Why, Sarada-chan?!"

"Out!" She sighed, shoving him in the direction of the window. "And Boruto, don't come back. I know what I'm doing. If it requires me to sacrifice my freedom for your safety, I will do it."

Boruto frowned. "It doesn't require that. Trust me, your dad can help. My dad can help. Heck, anyone can help. You don't need to go through this alone."

"You're forgetting Itachi." Sarada said, shoving him a little more.

"I'm coming back." Boruto winced. "And when I do, I'm bringing everyone else, and we are breaking you out."

"What if I want to stay here?" Sarada asked.

Boruto grinned. "That's not the Sarada I know." He started to go out the window willingly, but Sarada grabbed his hand, keeping him from leaving entirely.

"Goodnight, Boruto." She whispered, drawing his face close to hers. She kissed him on the lips, shutting her eyes tightly. He felt safe-- like home. Sarada stayed in the kiss longer than she probably should, then broke away.

Boruto stared at her in shock at first, then just smiled. "Goodnight, Sarada."

With those words, he was gone without a trace.
