Awkward conversations
Future Naruto stood firm, supporting his beat-up sensei, stopping a grin from taking over his face. "Pervy Sage! Are you okay? Does Sakura need to--"
"Who the helm are you?" Jiraiya coughed, wiping blood from his face. He looked up at Naruto and frowned. "You look like someone I know..."
"Hey, Pervy Sage! It's Naruto!" Naruto grinned, giving his hesitant teacher a thumbs up. "Believe it!"
"N-Naruto? No way! You're in Konoha! And you're-- wearing a Hokage--"
"Jiraiya-sama," Sasuke knelt beside the old man. "I am Sasuke Uchiha. Do you remember me? Power hungry, revenge-driven brat that's giving Naruto so much trouble?"
Jiraiya snorted. "You said it, not me."
Sasuke groaned. "I'm not like that anymore, I swear. I was stupid. I know."
"You see Master Jiraiya, we come from the future." Sakura went over to the older man. "You remember Sakura Haruno, right? That's me."
An appreciative look entered his expression. "My, you've certainly grown up."
Sasuke was losing patience for this bastard. Flirting with his wife was the last straw. "We don't have time for this." He said, but before he could stop her, Sakura's eyes went blank and she pounded the pervert into the ground.
Naruto sweatdropped. "Sorry about that, Sakura, I'd forgotten just how pervy he was...."
Sakura scoffed. "I had too."
Sasuke assessed the Sannin, watching as Sakura checked him for injuries. Hinata had her Byakugan on and was scanning the woods. Naruto had Rasengan'ed Pein pretty far away, but Hinata was convinced he was still alive.
Frankly, Naruto was relieved. Maybe he could get to Nagato earlier this time...
"Okay, we saved your crazy shishou. Can we go now?" Sasuke groaned, already losing the little pinch of patience he had. His daughter and student were in grave danger. If his past self found them, there would be issues. Especially in the Sarada category. And knowing Boruto, he would somehow annoy the younger version of himself and end up with a sword through his chest.
"Where are you going, older Sasuke? I'm gonna take you back to Konoha and have Tsunade check to see if you're telling the truth." Jiraiya grunted.
"Like hell you are." Sasuke scoffed. "Why are you not believing me?"
"Because you're so... not-as-åsshöleish, which is completely unlike you." Jiraiya studied him. "But you look like Mr. Angsty Emo Uchiha."
"Hey Naruto, let's go before I Chidori your master, hm?" Sasuke scowled, moving forward.
"Right," Naruto nodded. "Well, see you later, Pervy Sage. Make sure to stop by Granny Tsunade's and get your wounds checked."
"Wait a sec, squirt-from-the-future, where are you going?" Jiraiya frowned.
"Jiraiya-sama, we must go, but if you want to come, stop by the Akatsuki hideout in two days." Hinata said, with a sense of finality in her voice.
"Erm, okay..."
"Okay, let's go. We don't have a lot of time." Sakura nodded, healing the last of Jiraiya's nonfatal wounds. "See you in two days, Jiraiya-sama."
"Uh, bye?"
Then the four people were gone in a flash.
Jiraiya sat back, touching his back where a sword wound had been. "What the hėll just happened?"

"Okay, what is going on?" Past Naruto asked, frowning at his comrade. Sasuke had knelt on the floor and leaned against the wall. He was absolutely shocked at that news. Naruto and the others were just confused. Sure. It was another Uchiha alive, which they hadn't been expecting, but it wasn't good enough for Sasuke to lose all control of his legs all of the sudden.
"If Shisui Uchiha is alive..." Kakashi muttered, "and in the Akatsuki... and we just sent Itachi undercover..."
"We need to get him and Uchiha Shisui out of here, then. They might... there's no telling what Itachi-san will do." Hinata frowned. She didn't really know what was going on, but she assumed it had something to do with Itachi.
Everyone fell into a deep silence, trying to think of a way out.
"So..." Kakashi commented, "The sky is blue..."
Everyone looked at him like he was crazy.
He just shrugged. "What? It got awkward! You know how much I hate awkward silences."
Sasuke sighed, and leaned his head against the wall. Sakura noticed how pained he seemed to be, and scooted a little closer.
"Sasuke, are you okay?" She asked her comrade, worry shooting into her voice.
His eyes opened sharply. "Yes. I'm fine."
Sarada shook her head. "His eyes are bothering him. I just can't help, my chakra cuffs are blocking my chakra." That's strange, though. He doesn't have the Mangekyo, but I can tell his head and eyes are hurting...
Boruto looked at his aunt, everyone else following suit. "Do we do it now?"
"Are we being watched?" Sasuke asked wearily. He was tired. He wasn't tired earlier. Why is he tired?
Sarada shook her head. "Shisui-jii disabled the cameras earlier. If he is an Edo Tensei, he might've found a way to rebel a little."
"You think he's an Edo Tensei?" Naruto raised an eyebrow. "I heard Shisui-san had committed suicide by jumping off a waterfall. Wouldn't his body be destroyed by now, dattebayo?"
Everyone looked at him as if he was crazy. "What?"
"That's the first smart thing you've said all day!" Sakura gaped.
"And it wasn't even that smart!" Sasuke gasped, with an equal amount of shock. Or at least, thats what it looked like. Later on, he shook his head and rolled his eyes. Sarcasm is a beautiful thing.
Naruto nodded, him being his usual dense self didn't get the insult. When it registered in his head, he got mad. "I know, right! I can be smart and stupid at the--- hey, wait a minute... TEME!!!"
Hinata put a calming hand on Naruto shoulder before she even realized it, then began blushing furiously. "Naruto-kun, now isn't the time to fight. We have to heal Sasuke-san's eyes."
"But Hinata-chan!" Naruto complained.
Sarada and Sakura resisted the urge to fangirl and squeal. Then Sarada looked at her mother. "Sakura, how can you heal Sasuke if you're in chakra restraints too?"
"That's the thing," Sasuke said from the corner, smirking. "They aren't chakra cuffs."
Sakura twisted the band on her wrist and they came off easily.
"Does everyone but me have one of these?" Sarada frowned. They'd left her completely out of the loop. Again. Great.
"Yeah, pretty much." Boruto shrugged, his face twisting into a smirk. "Catch up, Sarada. The times have changed from the real chakra restraints to the fake ones."
"Ahh," Sarada nodded solemnly. "I remember now why I always hated you."
"Shut up, Sarada, you know you love me." Boruto teased, forgetting the girl's father was in the room.
Sasuke shot him a glare that would've withered a tree. "The day she loves you will be the day the world ends."
Boruto started chuckling nervously. "Funny you say that... ehehehe, do you know who Madara Uchiha is?"
"DOBE. SHUT. UP." Sarada scowled.
"Itachi-san had some fake ones around. We got lucky." Sakura ignored the kids' conversation and walked over to Sasuke, kneeling in front of him. "Right, Sasuke, you hold still, ok? I would hate to accidentally send chakra to your brain, causing it to blow up."
Sarada snickered, since she knew that wasn't possible, but Sasuke actually looked slightly concerned. Then his face went back to his usual expressionless self. "Hey Sakura," he asked, sounding a little confused.
Everyone else were in their own world's, Sarada catching up with Boruto and teasing Kakashi-sensei, while Naruto and Hinata were talking to them, scolding Boruto.
"Yeah, Sasuke?" Sakura asked, not looking up from her work. She had her green light hovering over his eyes, and she was assessing the damage done to them. They were almost completely destroyed on the inside. How... why??? This shouldn't be possible. The sharingan doesn't wear down the eyes like the Mangekyo does... why are they like this?
Do you think a balm would help with the destruction?
It could help. They could smear it on their eyelids... maybe it could cool them down, sink into the eyes...
I should ask Tsunade-sama. Shishou is certain to have ideas.
If she isn't drunk, that is. Inner scoffed.
"Why are you so estranged from me you don't even call me Sasuke-kun anymore?" Sasuke asked her. Sakura looked up in shock, finally noticing that his eyes had never left hers, even when she hadn't been paying attention.
"I--" She stammered, unable to think of anything to say. Her hands began to shake as her old, 13 year old feelings came back.
"Watch out, Sa-ku-ra, I would hate to have you accidentally miss and blow my brain up." Sasuke the Smartåss added, smirking at her reaction.
"Fine, Sasuke-kun." Sakura snarked back, accenting the suffix. She wasn't her 13 year old self anymore. She wasn't about to be undone. "Only because we apparently get married one day."
Sakura's green chakra eventually faded out of her hands, and she slapped them together in an I'm done motion. "There. How does that feel, Sasuke-kun?"
"Much better," He admitted. It felt like it was renewed, but Sasuke knew the relieved feeling he was getting wouldn't last very long. It felt like it did the time Sarada had done it, like a huge burden was off his eyes. But why are my eyes like that? Itachi didn't die.
Baby blue eyes suddenly appeared right in front of his face. "HEY UNCLE SASUKE! ARE YOUR EYES FEELING BETTER?"
"DOBE!" Sarada shouted, coming over and punching Boruto. "LEAVE SASUKE ALONE! AND QUIT YOUR SHOUTING!"
"WELL YOU'RE DOING IT TOO, TEME!" Boruto pouted.
Sasuke sighed and leaned back on the wall. "And I thought it would be easy to have a kid..."
"OI. YOU TWO! SHUT UP, WILL YA! SHANNAROOOO!"
".... scratch that... now I've got to take care of three kids, Sakura included..." Kakashi added, making Sasuke scowl.
"I have GOT to get out of here before I hurt someone." Sasuke rubbed his aching head. I wonder what Itachi's doing...?

Itachi twirled his kunai thoughtfully. He was alone in his room, sitting in the recliner by the fireplace. He hadn't gotten his eyes backed up by Sarada in awhile, and he was missing it. Sakura did a good job, but Sarada, having the Sharingan and knowing where it hurt, knew exactly where to pump the chakra.
Besides, it's been forever since he's even seen his niece, and he almost missed her.
What am I going to do when she goes home... He asked himself.
A corner of his mind screamed, Move in with Sasuke!
No, he hates me.
Like hėll he does. He's just prickly. He's always been like that.
Not when we were kids.
True.
"Itachi, are you in there?" Kisame knocking on the door interrupted his internal battle.
"Erm... yes...?" He asked, unlocking the door and sitting down quickly. Kisame has questions.
"I normally don't care what you do, but you've been acting strange." Kisame raised an eyebrow, walking in and leaning against the now-closed door. "Well... stranger than usual."
"Is that so?" Itachi asked, faking confusion.
"Hai." Kisame looked at him. "Is there something you're not telling me, Itachi?"
Itachi chuckled, closing his eyes. He didn't have a personal friendship with his teammate, but Kisame was often Itachi's venting victim. Whenever he complained about how stupid Sasuke was, Kisame was there, offering crazy advice.
So Itachi appreciated Kisame's cold way of being a friend more than he knew. Kisame, being Itachi's partner and knowing his habits, would often see through Itachi's façades and then some.
"You know me very well, Kisame-san." Itachi nodded. "But you still can't figure me out."
Kisame choked lightly. "No, I can't."
"Well, you don't need to." Itachi stood up. "I'm okay, Kisame. Thank you for the concern."
"Is it the Uchiha? Shisui?" Kisame frowned. "You seem to be different since he came. Did you know him?"
"Yes," Itachi nodded. "He used to be a friend of mine. He was dead until about now. I'd watched him kill himself."
Kisame dipped his head. "I'm sorry to bring up unpleasant memories."
"It's fine. Did you need something?" Itachi asked, sitting down and turning his head to the fireplace. Watching it cackle merrily made Itachi sigh. His brother and niece don't have a fire right now. I have to go to them soon.
Kisame just sighed and shook his head. "Nothing. I guess you really are okay."
"I am." Itachi said.
"Okay then." Kisame turned around and opened the door. "If you're sure. You can tell me anything. I trust you more than the Akatsuki, so I have no reason to spill your secrets."
"I know. Thank you." Get out of here, Kisame, I need to see my family.
"Okay. See you tommorow, I guess. I'm glad you're back." Kisame left.
Itachi sighed in relief and waited until he heard the footsteps recede down the hallway. "Okay, guys, I'm coming."
"Not without me." A pillow that was discarded on the floor suddenly poofed into Shisui. "Lets go, huh?"
Itachi shot him a smile. "Yeah."
