Dumbledore stood up. The Great Hall fell silent as all the chattering and murmuring stopped. Dumbledore began,"Now students, I am sure you are hungry, but before we begin the feast, I would like to attract your attention to a new student, who is joining us today. Ms Summers is joining late due to some obvious problems. Today earlier she was sorted into Gryffindor." Dumbledore paused as the Gryffindor table welcomed Ginny with a great surge of cheering. Ginny felt all the eyes of the room on her. "I would like to welcome her to Hogwarts. This was the only announcement I had to make. Better not be too late for lunch. Let the feast begin! PIP PIP!"

    Food appeared on the table. Ginny began to help herself. Lily asked,"So Ginny, we didn't really get to talk to each other. Why did you start the school so late?"

    Heck, same question!

    Ginny answered,"Actually ... Lily," she still felt wierd to call her by name, " I was home schooled and I just joined after the deatheaters killed my parents." Her voice quivered as she remembered her parents, her brothers, her friends and.. Harry. They were so far away from her. She didn't know if she would get to meet them again.

    She felt a hand on hers. She looked up to see Lily smiling sadly at her, obviously taking her sadness as the grief for her parents.

    "Its okay. Not everything is under our hands. Death is one of them." Ginny nodded, sensing how true it was. She knew everything about what would happen.... James and Lily's death, Sirius's death, Remus and Tonks death, Fred's ... death. Yet she couldn't do anything, because she knew it WOULD happen.... no matter what she tried to do... how much she tried to stop them.

    "What would you like for dessert?" Alice's voice broke her reverie.

    "Treacle tart" she answered and instantly regretted it. Treacle tart was Harry's favourite, Treacle tart... her mother's speciality.... Fred and George throwing a whole plate into each others face... her mother turning livid...

    "Have some chocolate frogs" Marlene handed her some. Ginny forcefully put aside all the memories coming to her regarding chocolate frogs and concentrated on her food.

    "Which year are you in?" Lily asked. "Sixth" Ginny answered.

    "Great , then you'll be able to sleep in our dormitory. It is for four people and we are only three. You'll fit amongst us well." Alice commented. Marlene nodded.

    "Let me see your schedule" Lily took it from her. "Now, let me see... Ancient Runes, wow, we all have same... Divination, okay I'm with you, Marlene and Alice will go to History of Magic... and last... Double Potions with Slytherin, again only with me." Lily ended. "Its not really bad, isn't it?"

    "No" Ginny said. She was rather glad to have Lily, Marlene, Alice as her new friends. They made her feel less lonely and more at home.

Hey guys, this was a bit short but hey, I updated fast! Mind you, the next one is very long... so it might take two or three days to update. I have no wand, after all! I'm updating frequently now because of my holidays. But my school is opening in some days so updates will be slower but longer :( Anyway please vote comment and fan!
