My following didn't get me to Emma's house, but to a store of some kind.
It had 'Isabella' written in big, cursive writing and that's when my eyes bulged out as I recalled a memory including Emma, about ten years ago when we were in our early teenage years.
"What do you want to be Emma?" I ask my best friend. We were currently lying down on the grass in her back garden, tired from chasing each other.
She took some moments to think about her answer, "I want to own my own clothing line that would have its own store and it's going to be named after a certain someone's middle name."
"Ha ha, Emma," I say with an eye roll.
"Well, I intend to do it."
"Pinky promise?" I held up my pinky finger jokingly.
"Pinky promise." And she interlocked hers and mine with a laugh. The actual funny thing was, her eyes were serious.
I get out of my car just as Emma unlocks and walks into the store, completely oblivious to my presence.
I get closer to the shop and notice that she's on the phone, not looking happy with her eyebrows furrowed.
Maybe she remembered seeing me.
I then turn around to get back to my car, knowing that she probably wants some space when I notice a younger girl with a t-shirt that has the logo of the store on.
I go up to her and ask, "Hi, I'm sorry for disturbing you but I saw your shirt and noticed that you work here," I point at the store, she nods looking confused. "I just wanted to know when the store closes."
"The store closes as 6pm and we lock up at 6.30pm." She says with a smile.
"Great, thank you for your help." She walks away with a nod.
I have some time to spare.
