Alastors pov

The two of us sat with Charlie in-between us watching a Disney movie that Lucifer rented for her. Things were still awkward between us. We couldn't even look each other in the eye without shifting awkwardly. I sighed. Maybe I should just leave-

"No!" My thoughts were cut off by Charlie's screams "that mean old hunter shot Bambis mom!" She started to cry.

"Hey hey don't cry baby girl. It's just a movie" Lucifer tried to reassure her.

"It's not fair!" She sobbed "Kids shouldn't have to grow up without their mummies. It's not fair"

Me and Lucifer eyed each other worriedly. Clearly this hit her way harder than we thought it would. Suddenly I got an idea.

I put on those deer ears Lucifer jokingly bought me and nuzzled against Charlie like a mother deer would.

"Hehe you're a deer Mr alastor" Charlie giggled through her tears as she reached up and stroked my hair. I normally hate anyone touching me but I'll make an exception just this one.

"Yeah and daddy's a deer too princess" Lucifer tickled the little girl, wearing the exact same ears I was.

"You bought a pair for yourself?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I couldn't help myself. They're sooo cute!" he gushed.

"Typical" I rolled my eyes fondly at the man. Just like that our awkwardness had vanished and we watched the movie like normal. Thank god for children!
