Alastors pov

"Thanks for your help today. Charlie had a lot of fun with you" Lucifer said greatfully as I put my coat back on.

"It was a pleasure to spend time with your lovely daughter" I smiled politely.

"Bye bye mr alastor" Charlie waved as I stepped outside "see you tomorrow"

I waved to them as I walked away. What a charming little family. My thoughts were cut off by the soft ding of my phone. I dug into my pocket to see Rosie's face pop up. A smile spread across my lips.

"Ah Rosie, always a pleasure to hear your voice my dear"

"Oh alastor such a charmer" she chuckled softly "now I thought I'd check up on you. How was your first day at the morningstars?"

"It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be" I said thoughtfully "He has a charming little girl and Mr morningstar isn't too bad himself. I thought he'd be some stuck up rich man but he actually seems pretty down to earth. They both actually insisted on me eating with them. Can you believe it-" I was cut off by her chuckling "something you find humourous dear?"

"Oh alastor I never thought I'd see the day. Your growing attached"

"Attached? Hardly!" I shook my head "I'm just doing my job that's all"

"Whatever you say al" she sighed "just let me say this. Ever since the day I met you you've been a master at lying to everyone around you. Don't you think you should at least be honest with yourself?" With that she hung up.

"She worries too much" I thought to myself as I shoved my phone back into my pocket "I'm only ever in it for myself. I would never be foolish enough to grow attached to another family. Once I get my money they're out of my lives for good!"
