"God what a day" I sighed as I put my coat back on. Spending the whole day with police officers and trying to not appear suspicious can really drain a man.

"I'll be taking my leave now" I bid the morningstar family farewell as I opened the door. To my surprise Lucifer stopped me.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"Pardon?" I was a little taken aback by his sudden sharp tone.

"You can barely stay on your own two feet. There's no way you can make it home in that state" he scolded me lightly.

"I assure you Mr morningstar I'm fine. Now I really must get going-"

"I said no!" He stood in front of me. Despite how frustrated I felt I couldn't help but find it humorous how this small man thinks he can block my way.

I took a deep breath to calm myself "then what do you propose I do"

He pondered for a moment "we have a spare bedroom. You can spend the night here"

"You want me to spend the night here?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah why not" he shrugged.

"Because it's ridiculous. I am your employee not your family member" I rolled my eyes "now please enough with your fussing"

"Alastor you're not setting foot out this door!"

"Why are you being so stubborn!" I started to lose my cool.

"Because I care about your health" his answer surprised me. He cares about me? How foolish.

"Please alastor" his eyes softened as he looked up at me "just stay the night. Even just to give me peace of mind"

I sighed "very well"

A smile returned to the smaller boys face "wonderful. I'll show you where you'll sleep" he excitedly took my hand and led me upstairs. I smiled at his excitement despite myself.

You'd think this was the first time he's ever had a guest!
