"Charlie dear" I rapped my knuckles against her bedroom door three times "are you almost ready?" No response. I opened the door and was shocked to see her still in her pyjamas. "You're still not dressed! hurry up now or you'll be late for school"

"Oh what's the point!" She threw herself against the bed dramatically "it's not like I have any friends. I'll just be stuck sitting by myself again!"

I sighed as I took a seat next to her "it's not like you too be so down my dear. What's troubling you?"

"No one wants to be my friend at school" she lay her head on her hands glumly "I tried really hard to make people like me but it never works. I'm tired of eating lunch alone and having no one to play with. Maybe I'm just not very likeable" she teared up.

"My dear there's no way a charming little girl like you couldn't make a friend" I bent down to her level "now I'm going to give you a tip that's always helped me make friends"

She sat up straight, her attention fully on me. I put my fingers to my lips and gentured them into a smile.

"Give them a big smile, introduce yourself and give that person a compliment. Do that and you'll have friends in no time"

"Ok I'll try" she nodded.

"Good girl" I petted her head before picking up a hairbrush "now let's get you looking beautiful"
